C418 is, hands down, a musical genius. It's really intriguing how some of his best songs are in those "leftovers" and "unfinished" albums. Such as, this one, Seven Years of Server Data (just random stuff he made to share with friends) and Circle (few songs made for a cancelled game)
I strongly agree Henry and over the last few years I'd say his music has had a profound effect on me and my mental state, lots of memories now of late-night work or early morning painting all to his tunes. When I mention he has done stuff besides Minecraft, people just go "oh yeah" and don't react beyond that, but that external validation doesn't matter. We know c418 makes great stuff, even these reject albums are just so, approachable.
What each of these songs make me think of. Kaffee: Insomnia along with too much coffee, headaches. Bummer: When you planned to hang out with someone you really like, but they end up being busy. Peanuts: A baby playing with their toys, bonding with grandparents, childhood. Familiar Faces: Dealing with a deep break-up; seeing their face long after a break-up, bringing you nostalgia (assuming they weren't flat out a horrible person) It's Complicated: Living with someone or in a country that is highly controlling, is like (Ex. North Korea) Hotel Music: Being at a hotel in northern Canada during the winter at night. Repetition: Constantly being used by people. Broken heart Sod: Derealization or depression. (or just a deep meditative state) Heyhey: Words of affirmation, all of the good memories of your childhood :)
I heard these songs in a PSP homebrew game named GSquare. Its a puzzle game made with charm and it has this relaxing music playing in the back. I went to credits to see who made the music and was suprised to see it was my favorite artist who made Minecraft OST,Dief,One etc.
Dreaming Armchair If you have the time and patience, you can find C418's old website using the Internet Archive's wayback machine, and then find a download he put of Sod. In that download, you cannot hear Repetition at the start, which I guess was your problem in the first place?
Peanuts and Sod are the two GOATs of this album, and Familiar Faces is pretty damn good too. The rest, while not AS compelling as these three tracks at least individually, carry a really chill and soothing tone that complements the tone established by these three very well. In other words, Little Things = good album. Decent 7/10, may increase in the future.
Peanuts is more like a mix of the best songs in Minecraft put in an original way, you can easily recognize the harmony from Taswell and Alpha and the instruments from Aria Math, Far and so on

I agree
@@Subcosmos you've replied to many of my comments (and even a video) in the past few days... Looks like someone's on a C418 journey, haha
@@henrycgs Yeah lol, his music is incredible.
@WaterishDog why second? what would be your first one?

Another great album by C418! “Familiar Faces” is especially fun and “Peanuts” is so calm yet passionate and expressive.
Good job as always, Danny!
Ikr? I wish his music got more recognition
Familiar Faces rings to me on a spiritual level
Honestly a lot of his songs do that to me. He's cool like that.
almost as if its 'familiar" hehe puns
Sod is so dang excellent

In my opinion Peanuts reminds me of Minecraft, particularly because it sounds like one of the songs from the console version of minecraft
@@kid9448 it has the same drums as Aria Math, which is probably the song you were talking about
i herd hey hey befor but i do not remember
Epic Gamer ah
Subwoofer lullaby is also another one
@@kid9448 Peanuts sounds like it could be a music disc tbh

Это охренеть как круто
Stupid good, always, inventive and worth a listen.
The beginning of Peanuts sounds like a upbeat, hyper Aria Math.
i feel the same, that give some kind of nostalgia
You are right .In my opinion, it is the same instrument
@@ertora hand pan.
It's the little things that make this album so great!

hahahaha
haha, nice!
"Thanks, Captain Obvious!"

peanuts and familiar faces are amazing
agreed
Yep, and Sod.
25:31 WASSS SO GOOD
familiar faces is masterpiece
yes
Square beeps, man. Square beeps.
It's one of those songs that can heal
All of them are masterpieces
Repetition is the true definition of sadness
This album is so intriguing
Kaffee reminds me of good ol' days
you are living in your future good ol' days
Yes
13:31 my nostalgia in 3 minutes
just recently found c418 and this might be my favorite album of his so far
I am listening to different C418 albums while meditating.
After I always feel more confident and calm.
Sod is a masterpiece
blocked in my country now? awesome! prison planet
Peanuts is the best
This is the best album to drum over
No one is a "Musical genius"
like everyone else, we all talented.
C418 is a Musical Genius.
"Peanuts"- best track on the album.
repetition feels like remembering fun times you've had with friends
familiar faces though
from far, the cover of the video looks like it has a dorito on it :D
It’s kind of a _bummer_ that these aren’t individually uploaded.
*heh*
But seriously, I need Kaffee in one track
Sod is my favorite
Me too, i want to buy it but it follows "repetition" in the album

Okay, now it’s a light 8/10 instead of a decent 7/10.
@@advaitramesh164 Now it's a strong 8/10. Also this is my other account.
This album feels like a soundtrack for liminal spaces
some how these songs touch some kind of my emotions
hotel music makes me think of pilotredsun
😢😢🥺😭😭amazing♥️

I didn't hear the angelic sounds from taswell.
i feel as if peanuts is the inspiration for aria math, they sound sorta similar, although thats prolly cuz of the instrument of choice
Sod gives me Spore vibes... Nostalgic vibes..
how on earth does this only have 854 likes after 9 years
Too bad most of his music wasn't turned into additional Music disks in MC, the new ones don't feel like Minecraft at all.
This sounds more like Minecraft than anything else he's done, which is pretty cool
Vampires begin in 19.
Sod kinda sounds like a music disc
Familiar faces sounds a bit like something from a weird, jacked animal crossing-type game
It has more depth to it than that though. It feels warmer and more nostalgic than just that.
Bro C418 must team up with toby fox and kawaii sprites to make an album
No sé si es que yo tenga mucha imaginación o que... pero la portada del álbum parece un pato.
opino lo mismo... Recuerdo que hallé este álbum hace 4 años y me daba miedo la portada.
Es C418 debajo del pato??? :)
I love heyhey by the way can someone tell me why only redheads like me? It’s weird
Found out they don't... and found out the hard and painful way. Hope everyone is doing well.

peanuts sounds a lot like aria math from mc
