The jolt is applied automatically. It's not voltshot. It definitely needs help, but having jolt isn't an issue.
I was about to say. Its not voltshot. Applying jolt onto targets from hit with no setup is mildly useful. MILDLY useful. But yeah, you don't waste any ammo to apply jolt.

@@fatihaydynly5500It depends on the positioning. The video mainly look at heavy sniper as a dps weapon. DARCI moved away from that route into add clearing heavy. Applying jolt on demand is very useful for that purpose and also champion. There’s no reason for DARCI to compete with Whisper. I think DARCI should leans on utility than dps. Give it significantly higher reserve, ability to chain jolt, alternate mode to support the fire team, protect the user by applying the arc conductor, etc.
There’s no reason for every weapon to focus on DPS especially if they share the same space. Doing so devalue another then everyone gravitate toward the best option naturally. That is exactly what happen to DARCI. Bungie understand this now but the video doesn’t.
You don’t need to reload and shoot another target. That’s specific to Voltshot
Personal Assistant: Aim at an enemy to reveal important information in its scope and mark its weak points. Marked weak points take additional precision damage.
So an effect like the scanner buff from dsc but only for the spots that take precision damage. The mark will take ~2 seconds to activate and linger for 6 seconds after descoping. You would deal 25% increased precision damage when hitting this mark.
Target Acquired: While personal assistant is active gain significantly increased target acquisition, precision damage, and an improved rate of fire.
Remove hipfire and airborne penalties while its active. Decrease the precision damage increase to 25% but it would be 50% when combined with the intrinsic perk. Slightly increase rate of fire to 160 RPM.
Catalyst - Support Fire: Information from Personal Assistant is shared with nearby allies.
Allies see the weak point mark and also deal 25% more precision damage when hitting it.
Basically make DARCI the Gjallarhorn of linears and snipers, and encourage using precision weapons without a Divinity. While also slightly increasing the DPS of DARCI. It shouldnt need to be the best weapon fir damage, but it should give linears and snipers a spot in a meta dominated by rockets and gls.
This is actually a perfect rework in my opinion, very creative and thought out too!

Sounds almost like free div which is why sharing wouldn't happen, but I agree with your other proposed changes. RPM is probably the best as it would lean more into Darci being a burst damage option instead of sustain or total like other snipers

Queenbreaker, Prospector, Symmetry, Colony, & Worldline Zero fall under this same umbrella of forgotten exotics that Bungie doesn't care to buff. In an ideal world every exotic would have a use case somewhere in the game, but powercreep is so blatant with these weapons that something needs to be done. Great video

Queen breaker’s is really good rn. Its in top three linears when it comes to damage, close to Sleeper. But why use it when Still Hunt is dumb and does 3x damage a heavy weapon does.

Darci Rework idea:
> keep its identity as a targeting system/weapons ai but bring it more in line. Functions similarly to whisper with a gimmick that can lead to higher damage.
> personal assistant stays
> exotic perk: when personal assistant is active, rapid precision hits reveals weakspots on the target. Hits on weakspots deal significantly more damage and can partially reload the magazine.
- think nezzy/tormentor weakspots show up as you deal damage. 7 round mag so every 3 precision hits reveals a weakspot, weakspots take 2 rounds to destroy. If you destroy a weakspot target takes even more damage and adds two rounds to the mag. 2 weakspots per mag basically.
> Weakspots only visible by Darci scopes so allies using Darci can also see them when scoped in. So multiple people can be generating weakspots while others shoot and destroy them.

the problem with this idea, is that boss dps phases are not long enough for this to work well enough. + the dmg boost from shooting the weakspots would have to be MASSIVE to use it over a rocket/gl
So many middle pieces can be cut out to have the same effect. Could literally just be: “While PA is active, rapidly landing (idk like 5) precision hits increase precision damage against Arc debuffed targets for a moderate duration. The more precision shots landed consecutively, the higher this bonus.”
The whole weak point thing now requires Bungie to redesign every single enemy in the game to accommodate the whole “weak spot” idea.

I could see them giving DARCI even more synergy with Arc, namely “Being Amplified continuously reloads this weapon from reserves”. Having not used DARCI in years, I’d think all it needs is something that doesn’t require you to reload in order for it to compete in DPS, as rapid fire frames have historically been superior in DPS, but not great in total damage.

I'd like them to change it to a Kinetic Heavy Sniper.
Whilst Personal Assistant is active, shots against champions will stun them or break their shields. Deals full damage against elemental shields.
Grants huge aim assist bonuses to bend with a large margin to crit.
Sadly something like that would never happen.
People persisted that they wanted Coldheart changed to Stasis when Beyond Light released because it had "Cold" in it's name, but they haven't changed it because of it's actual lore behind the weapon.
Anyways, for DARCI, the only thing that can be done is to change the perks around and actually give a good exotic perk that isn't well... You can see HP of enemies wow!
This is something like what happened to Bastion now with it's secondary new perk and it is actually pretty busted.
Even if it got changed to a Kinetic, Izanagi's exists. Darci needs to have a juiced catalyst and a desperate reserves buff- maybe the catalyst could be a different version of White Nail where, while Personal Assistant is proc'd every shot is returned to the mag allowing you to mag dump on a boss without a reload. That would make it at least semi-competitive with Izanagi for sustain.
The thumbnail is too accurate
The perks LITERALLY tell you that you apply jolt while the intrinsic active. This gun has been so much worse in your hands because you’re going out of your way to do something that you don’t have to at all.
This thing either needs 100 ammo or a upgrade in the damage department. I barely was able to tolerate the catalyst grind for Darci

Darci, borealis, nd the queenbreaker are my favorite exotics that I still use. queenbreaker kinda got a buff but all of these exotics are just so bad I feel bad for using them

I won't comment on the Jolt since it looks like that point was already hit. But something I thought up was something along the lines of
"This weapon deals increased dmg to arc debuffed targets. This increased in dmg scales with the number stacks on the target."
basically turning it into another one of those team exotics. Most of the dmg increase should be front loaded tho, so that way it's still relevant on it's own, but obv better with people for a balancing factor.
I think outside of delecate tomb. Darci is the only way to apply jolt to an enemy using a gun without a kill requirement. I use it with Arc bolt grenades on Lucky raspberry as a way to refund my grenades. I use this with a kinetic tremors supremacy as a way to proc jolt since you need to be damaging the target for jolt to chain.
Bungie said 'we know you all want DARCI to be a special weapon, and we hear you. We're not going to do that but add Jolt to it because we feel it isn't playing into subclass buffs well enough'
Thanks for showing Darci some love. I used it in a GM for overloads (hate them) and it performed well. A buff would make it worth the heavy slot though. I would like to see rewind rounds or FTTC for the catalyst.
Bungie are legitimately awful at the rpg elements (leveling, stats, light level systems) of this game. Buffs, how they proc and how long they last for different weapon archetypes are also incredibly poorly executed. It’s a such a shame when considered alongside how amazing the gunplay and moment to moment firefights play out. I genuinely think they have never known what they want the game to be, too many chefs not enough cooks type of dilemma.
I used to gave so much use to D.A.R.C.I., Crimson and Hard Light, they were my favorites :D
There's the idea going around for D.A.R.C.I that the sniper rifle could be reworked into a omni-Champion buster, via the Personal Assistant loading in specialized rounds after a brief analysis of the target. Heck even I had the idea, too. I did get another idea for a modest adjustment to DARCI, though: take off its Voltshot ability, and replace it with modified versions Zen Moment and Target Lock.
The way this new DARCI has the same design philosophy as Merciless. The more shots you fire, the more damage you deal, and the easier DARCI is to control. Eventually, through the power of its sophisticated artificial intelligence, the sniper rifle becomes a recoilless high damage boss buster.
Actually giving it precision instrument and zen moment may actually not be that bad of an idea tbh

I guess Target Lock would still work because it's less dependant on you landing crits, but Precise is more fitting for sniper rifles in general.
I specifically remember DARCI being bad even in year 1. Ikelos sniper with box breathing used to have the SAME dps as DARCI because of how OG box breathing worked.
ikelos sniper didn't even exist when darci was on top. the closer it got to forsaken the less relevant it was becoming.
The way I've always imagined reviving Darci would be allowing it's existing exotic ability (to provide info of a target) to generate a weak point on bosses similar to Divinity. Shooting said weak point without Darci grants a Crit while shooting that point with Darci stacks a buff which grows in damage until you reload. This would make it a REAL support weapon while not sacrificing a DPS user
I think making use of the assistant like creating a mini div weak spot on the enemy when you scan him and it would deal increased precision dmg would be a good upgrade for the weapon..... the div spot thing is only applied to the darci user to keep divinity relevant

They are not going to nerf still hunt. They just sold an ornament for it. Bungie knows people will buy those ornaments for OP weapons and nerfing it is a bad business decision
there's a difference between they are never going to nerf it and they aren't going to nerf it at the moment. Right now? sure that's unlikely. but eventually? it's inevitable.
Locking onto an enemy and hitting that enemy causes constant jolt damage over time as long as you ads. After the first target, you can target more enemies by shooting them. The jolt will bounce from target to target. After every 3 jolt procs DARCI will reload 1 round from reserves. Damage ramps up with every extra target.
I would change the exotic perk or catalyst to give it precision instrument. If Bungie insists on keeping it in the exotic slot they should also increase its base damage by a decent amount to distance it from special ammo snipers.
A special sniper does more damage than a heavy sniper. Let that sink in
I feel like for champions, personal assistant can become the stun type for that champion for a short period and severely more damage.
Increased the base damage against all bosses by 70%
If this weapon does have a catalyst I'll add something to it.
Getting final blows or rapid precision hits heal the user and grants an additional 10% damage bonus.
And increased stats when personal assistant is active by 10, ignoring impact, this buff will remains active momentarily, so, unscoping and rescoping will keep the PA still active and allows the user to reload musch faster as this stat is tripled by 30.
Watching that calus clip, with 100+ skulls and not one phasing is crazy to me

My friends called me stupid in 2021 when I said they should give gjallarhorn rockets to swords. Now we have ergo sum. Give darci Wolfpack rounds and a veist stinger and kinetic tremors effect
They just need to turn this into an Arc still hunt, instead of a golden gun shot it shoots a chaos reach laser beam
D.A.R.C.I -Personal Assistant
Aim at an enemy to view its health and other critical information in the scope.. hitting precision hits visually marks targets for you and your allies. When allies hit Targets marked by Personal assistant they gain a bonus to sniper damage. Switching weapons or coming out of ADS will remove Mark.
Target acquired. Crouching with D.A.R.C.I eliminates all sources of flinch. Eliminates recoil. And grants an over shield. Landing every shot in a mag grants 1 bonus Damage shot that can stack up to 3x
New Catalyst. Critical Analysis.
Low health Targets get a Blue Mark. You deal critical damage to C.A marked targets anywhere on the target. All snipers have a chance to stager bosses Marked by C.A
Darci is simply just another way to do sniper bounties but why bother when you got crafted whisper that can gain level.
I think shifting it out of heavy alone will help it imnmensely.
But if they want Darci to remain a 50 sniper it needs to do waaaay more.
i would change the trait with adding the perk onto it and making a new perk for it or making the catalyst actually do something besides stat bumps
I've got this. It should synergize with my other assistant. Once activated turn all active turrents into prismatic grenade spam on a single target
I would love for Darci to make other arc weapons do more damage, especially since there are very few meta arc weapons for dps.
Similar to old tractor that made void weapons specifically do more dmg than other elements.
regardless of the jolt taking effect on hits or after kills ( similar to voltshot ), looking at ur opinion actually made me think about these things too and im actually wondering why the hell were getting special weapons that outclass heavy weapons in every possible way it literally makes no sense and i feel like some special weapons overall need changes, still hunt being the most superior one ofc, but also some other things that are substantly better than some old gems from way back in the day. to me it just feels like they wanted to bring new, powerful stuff into the final shape, WHICH IS FINE, but atleast dont let old weapons, specifically exotics suffer for years and years being useless in every single way
Honestly for me id completely rework the weapon, if they still want it to function similar though I'd:
- Merge its secondary trait into Personal Assistant Intrinsic
- Create an entirely knew meaninful trait for the weapon (could be something akin to Fourth times, or something entirely new)
- Buff the Damage from its Custom Box Breathing significantly, so its focused on single target damage.
Darci but you get enough precision shots it becomes a trace rifle and shoots a mega laser
I really want to understand why bungie pretends its worth wasting your exotic and heavy slot on a sniper that is completely outclassed by legendary special snipers. Even if Darci was a legendary special sniper with the exact same perks it would still be a bad weapon.

It's baffling that we've had several special weapons that absolutely smash everything when it comes to DPS, but they're so stingy with buffing heavy DPS exotics.
Acrius, Whisper, Leviathan's Breath, and Thunderlord got excellent catalysts and small changes that made them incredibly viable for the last 2-ish years.
Meanwhile, DARCI, Prospector, Queenbreaker, Wardcliff, 1k Voices, and even Xenophage have been borderline useless for a few years, outside of a few very specific uses like Deep Stone Security, oracles in VoG, and being a tape measure in private matches. All of them have excellent meta shaking potential, but they refuse to do anything of value to them, except Queenbreaker which they keep saying is getting a rework at some point in the next decade.
Pretty much all of them boil down to either give it something to auto load the gun, or give it a bit better damage and instantly it's at least decently viable. For prospector, it's literally just give it slightly more damage, and make it so grenades dont instantly explode on contact so you can stack the burn.
For Darci, make it a special weapon, or buff the hell out of it. It shouldn't be a heavy weapon that could shoot half it's reserves and barely match the damage of a single use of Cayde's Retribution. It's genuinely a gun that could get a ton of buffs, and not even be that OP in the current landscape. Heavy slot is gradually losing it's purpose, and that goes against the entire point of heavy weapons.
the jolt isn't like voltshot, when you are adsing on lets say a boss and you can see its health percentage that's when D.A.R.C.I. applies the jolt

I'd make it so the cascade point idea is applied 10x, meaning it turns into a 7-burst pulse rifle sniper. and if you hit 4 of the shots, it jolts. maybe if you hit all 7 it does something more as well, perhaps loops into the next magazine?

How I would buff it would be to give the catalyst "Firing Line" but then again. That be way too crazy for a six stack team in any raid. It would completely overshadow whisper lol
my idea for a darci rework would be to make it the best anti champion weapon. give it double or even triple damage against champs and make it so when personal assistant scans a champion, darci gets innate anti champion for that type of champion. so if darci scans a barrier champ, it gets anti barrier but if u scan overload right after it changes to overload. its balanced by the fact it is a heavy weapon so it would be good for boss dps, but would be the best anti champion weapon in the game.

Here is the 2 ideas ive thought of for Darci. I wish it was better since it was my first exotic for my lost account.
For DPS
Hitting a precision hit amplifies the next shot up to 6 stacks at 25% and reloads 1 bullet from reserve(basically Precision Instrument with an amped up Rewind Rounds)
For ad clear/utility
Dealing precision damage to an enemy grants 1 stack of Data Collection(name is just a place holder but feels fitting) up to 7 stacks. Upon killing an enemy with a precision hit, grants 1 bullet for each stack of Data Collection into the magazine(can overfill).
Both ideas ive given is an idea. But it is a choice of 1 or another. These ideas does have a difference. If the DPS route is taken, it would be like the Whisper while in the other route, it is there to have the workings like a precision Eyes of Tomorrow. I do think the ad clear/utility idea makes it have a very unique identity though. Even though they can add both together, it does make for some infinite ammo boss fights as you can just shoot the boss 7 times in the crit spot and just kill a random add just to overflow the magazine to 14. But a better approach to mix both together is having the autoloading part from the 1st idea only activate on non lethal precision hits. But i do want to see what could be changed to the ideas which ive given.
Looking back, darci just looks like a fun gun to shoot bosses with. I mean that fire rate just makes it nice! But it's sad to see how power crept it got

Since they gave it jolt, they should go further into that identity and also give it eddy current and a unique trait with amplified. While amplified, it does more damage and has a faster fire rate.
I pulled it out recently, to complete the catalyst 😂😂 Pls bungo do something with this gun. It has no place currently.

I have an idea for a buff. Give it somthing i call the Tremendous Individual Targeting System, or T.I.T.S. Basically it gives Darcy a pair of huge buffs, inflicting blind on foes, but T.I.T.S also buffs all guardians as well.
Ive had uses for darci for a mixed playstyle for primarily onslaught for doing damage on big targets while jolt takes out ads. I do wish it was on par with wisper but with more burst DPS instead of total damage, probably with a perk like cascade point but for hitting marked targets it activates. Would love to see more Heavy snipers with the other elements though.
Id take Darci being made special, but still hunt needs to just not interact with nighthawk that would be the one nerf id see them doing.

Make DARCI a Charge Trace Rifle that charges for 500 charge time, shoots for 3 seconds at 900RPM, and let it apply constant jolt and volatile, in addition to its Personal Assistant functionality.

Not every heavy needs to be a dps weapon. The jolt on hit is CRAZY add clear and ez overload. Perfect on hyper current sniper champs. Darcy isn't bad. It has its place and it doesn't need to be dps.
Honestly the biggest thing they could do for darci is make it a special ammo weapon instead of heavy.

Still Hunt and DARCI should switch slots. Everything else would work itself out. Still Hunt could keep its high damage profile and be justified, and DARCI would have an excuse to be as bad as it is
Still Hunt should be moved to the Heavy slot and use Power ammo; no other nerfs required. DARCI should shoot faster, have deeper ammo reserves, and have every shot on any part of a scouted target do precision damage, on top of jolting with every shot that hits a scouted target. There, I fixed it. Now they're both unique and also uniquely useful.
Wow played bunch of Levi in vanila. Pretty cool to hear new stuff. Never heard of DARCI being good dps back then. IFG I been in used Sins of the part / curtain call / Cold Heart.
I hate nerfs so much. I quit Overwatch because I got sick of having to relearn how much damage my guns do. Bungie should just give DARCI ricochet shots like the Khovostov, since it's a 'smart' gun. They won't do it though because it's an idea they could use for a future exotic.
Instead of jolt it should be weaken, one which can be overridden by a better version of weaken like tether, increase damage by 20 percent, make it so personal assistant is active immediately upon scoping in on an enemy. Or keep jolt and add some of this shit to the catalyst, and change the catalyst to just kills rather than precision kills. Oh and the mandatory increase in reserves ofc.

Imo I think letting it load an anti-champion round (specific to whatever champion you target or last damaged) would be awesome. It could be an alternate reload by izanagis and could be enabled by killing enemies or smth
maybe its just me but I feel like heavies for the most part shouldn't have champ-related perks unless it's an all-in-one kind of deal or a case like levi's breath where you get full damage + the stun on initial hit.

Well I wont say the mistake since you know that already. But I do agree Darci needs help. I love the feeling of the gun, and normally i hate snipers except a few.
I feel like it should get more damage, but also more utility as well. Personal assistant should just gain the effects of target aquired, then target aquired lets you pass all the personal assistant buffs to your nearby allies. Giving them all more target acquision and precision damage, then perhaps the catalyst adds that dealing sustained damage to a target marked increases damage over time(built in target lock basically, but doesnt end instantly upon reload as long as you are locked onto a target). this would make DARCI become a mix of support and personal damage with I feel fits its identity, and give some more options for team set ups. You got Gally, you got tracktor, you got Div, You got determanistic chaos, and now you got Darci. all have different use cases and helps out the team
Also, I would love it if DARCI had a Failsafe ornament where failsafe talks to you while you use it.
Anybody that says darci is bad doesnt know how to use it. This video is proof. Once she locks on the first shot applies jolt for free. Stunning champions and clearing nearby ads. Then every shot after has increased damage while setting off jolt for even more damage and ad clear.

I’d like a complete rework about its functionality, because its old form never had an identity in my opinion, other than dealing big damage, I kinda want it to be either “bait and switch” but as an exotic, or maybe its damage is used to fuel supers or abilities, so a warlock could use this as a grenade spam weapon, but those are very lack luster ideas, but are things that I would hope to see redefine the weapon rather than it just being able to deal damage because “it need deal better damage”

DARCI should have an enhanced crit modifier that reveals a weak spot on enemies at random that deals more crit damage than your typical headshot, that stacks up. Only way I see them using the "info" darci gives when scoped in a power fantasy. More difficult and more rewarding sign some mains up.

The perk should be weaken instead of jolt, the ammo should be increased and the damage output should be at least 10-15% higher to be competitive. At this moment the weapon is just ass
