No way! The ride wasn't even close to the thrills and terrors of driving I-4 to Disneyworld. Compared to I-4, this ride is like a kiddy coaster, something you'd fall asleep on. Boring!! 😴
Fully agree. You don't need the highways in Orlando. You can easily do 80 mph on 436 at night into the early hours. Take the 417 and see what your cart can really do. Test track doesn't even come close to actual Florida driving.
I love this version a lot more than the new one. It’s just so much easier to know what’s happening and to truly envision yourself in a car testing facility.
I really have to thank you for having this up. I have a lot of nostalgia for this version of test track--not that the new one isn't great!--but being able to 'ride through' this version just warms my heart and puts a smile on my face.
I miss this version so much. The new one is just boring. This one was actually educational which matched the theme (or what used to be the theme) of EPCOT. I loved the jerky stops during the braking and end portion and the sound they made

Man, this takes me back to when I was nine. It was my first Disney trip ever! Honestly I was surprised about the big change when I came back years later... but I still enjoyed both versions!
@Misty Whispers I hear the car part that drives outside gets to like 60 or 65 mph? I've driven at 85 mph in my car on the highway before, soooo is it the banked track that makes it more intense? I just imagine it being like as if I were driving my car. Still, it looks fun as all hell :D
After a side by side comparison, I have to say that this version was way better. The sense of realism during the tests adds to the experience. The new version makes it all feel simulated. They may have well made it a TRON themed ride.
Hello, Im from Argentina, since i was 4 years old, I have always wanted to visit Disney Word in Florida, my first day was in Epcot, thanks for this video!, January 2012, I will never forget you!
Last night I dreamt I was at Disneyland & a voice came into my dream and said words I will never forget as long as I live. It said... Pull on the yellow strap
I never saw it before. This was the first time I saw it. I could understand if you rode it like this than you like it more, personally though I like the newer one more. I feel like it makes stuff more unexpected cause you can't see the track. Ik when I rode it recently I had no idea what was about to happen and I felt like I was actually gonna hit the 18 wheeler
I remember riding this version as a kid! Now that I am safety engineer at an automotive company I miss it so much more. The theming is incredible and many aspects looks just like buildings I've walked through myself at work!
For me, Ive grown up to becoming a mechanic. To walk through the line to see all the props and such would be so cool. Hands down the best line queue to ever exist in a ride. Nothing was more exciting than seeing a dummy get smacked in the face and a bunch of cars everywhere lol
My wife and did our first visit to EPCOT in July 1998. The Test Track was new, but not operating while we were there - computer bugs, I believe. So, five years later, we were there again on 4th July and it was open. We joined the queue and were in the car in 25 minutes. The real fun part was to break down halfway around the steeply-curving track outside ( 3:56 ) and sit there for five minutes, at an angle of forty-six degrees, while a recorded voice told us that this was an unscheduled stop and please remain in the car. The car behind us had also stopped - and a good thing too, or it would have run into the back of us - but we couldn’t see any ahead. For all we knew, we were the first in the line. After a couple of minutes, the little boy - about five or six - in the back seat, beside his father, and who was having a great time, started giving me cheek. I was sitting in the driver’s seat and he kept saying, “Hey driver! Get going!” I said I couldn’t because they hadn’t given me a steering wheel. The teenager on the outside of my wife had a walkie-talkie and all we heard from him was “Mom! Dad! We’re stuck!” Mom/Dad never replied... The car got going again and we finished the run at high speed around the front of the building and back inside. As we pulled up and started to unbuckle, staff invited us to stay put and go around again to make up for the breakdown. Of course we all said yes and around we went again, this time without stopping. Whee! We enjoyed the ride, but an even better one was waiting for us next door at the brand-new Mission: Space, which had been specially opened for a July 4 preview.
MarsFKA I too have been stuck on this thing. In 2007 I was stuck for an hour in the same location as you were with a very British family. I ended up talking to them about my home state of Michigan. That was more enjoyable than this ride.
mars I was there the year after you in 1999, and it worked but I remember my Dad saying how stupid it was hahaha. The funny thing is I liked it then. I remember there was some kind of Daytona 500 Nascar movie we watched at an IMAX right after that or on the same day. Funny, I wonder if it has changed at all or not since I last was there.
wh00wie the entire track itself is exactly the same.. but the whole ambiance of the ride, visuals, effects and everything else about it completely changed. It used to all be set up like a crash test facility. Look up a ride-on of the old General Motors Test track.
@@beauknowss I recently went to Disney for the first time. I never knew it changed. TBH, looking at this, I would've preferred the old one. Now, it has this odd futuristic atheistic. It's not horrible, but the old one looks really cool.
I personally don't mind them updating the ride, the competitive designing and such is cute, and yeah I agree the design makes me think of Tron too. But what broke my heart about the new design was the destruction of the experience Before the ride. The elements of learning what goes into making and testing out the cars we drive. I thought that was the best and was looking forward to showing my husband that part of the ride most of all( I'm his wife using his account). The machines, dummy testing, videos of crash tests, and plaques at each machine telling you what they do and why was both fun and educational for kids and adults alike. It's heartbreaking. I was lucky to experience it before they remodeled everything. RIP Test Track 1.0, you will be sorely missed.
I feel like everybody is riding on the same bandwagon of bringing back the old test track, but the purpose of epcot is to showcase the future. Although the old test track was far more educational and fit the name better, this test track offers more interactiveness (which is up and coming with every new ride). The change was needed because the ride was outdated and wasn't practical in Walts vision of epcot. Best way of saying it, disney world isn't a museum so it's not gonna have your childhood classics there every time you visit. It's always gonna be changing.
Plus, when Test Track was built, electronic anti-lock brakes were the new-fangled thing that was the way of the future of driving whereas nowadays, it's about balancing fuel efficiency and power.
Went on this a few years ago. I remember the place with the lights being uncomfortably hot, but this was one great ride. However the first and only time I ever rode it, I remember going through and looking forward to the speed part. The intensity building up as we neared the wall. WILL WE CRASH? I thought. This wasn't good. However thankfully the doors opened at the last second to a SWIRLING MONSOON OF RAIN AND WIND TORRENTING IN EVERY WHICH WAY. I'll never forget the terror of dodging the RAINDROPS going 70+ MPH in an out of control car with a barely functional windshield. One of my fondest memories actually... Lol Oh and that was also back when destination space wasn't crap.
This was my favorite ride from like 10 years ago! I remember the weather conditions test and the outside and the dashboard said you were going something like 200 or 300 mph. It was fun!
I like the new experience more. Being able to design your own car, and then have it compete with others, PLUS it being a newer modern thrill dark ride, makes it great.
Yo, I was watching this randomly, thinking I had never been on this ride... I went to Epcot once, probably 16 years ago in 3rd grade, but I didn't remember much about going there... And seeing that Truck "almost" hit the rider totally brought me a flashback of that exact moment when I was on the ride (The scariest & my favorite part) --And suddenly all the memories came back! Pretty cool you were able to do that for me with your video. :)
I loved the original test track, been there countless of times. Just recently went last week to epcot, and version 2.0 is not soo bad. Though the IIHS style testing facility is pretty awesome, after many years, it needs to be updated. Disney is now making their rides and waiting queues more interactive. The physical layout of the track is pretty much the same, but now you can compete with each other on board whose vehicle design is more powerful, fuel efficient, etc. Though it sucks that new people won't be able to experience to be an IIHS test dummy, the new version is as well made.
one of my favorite rides ;D edit from a year later: i honestly dont remember making this comment, but i clearly didnt watch the video cuz i have never been on the ride when it looked like this
This ride used to look like this when I first went on it in 2009, i was only 5 years old and I used to be terrified!! Now this ride was completely changed in like 2013 and it kinda looked futuristic, but not too exciting anymore. This is soo nostalgic!!
This video does not do the ride justice. I never rode the original, but I just went a couple of weeks ago and rode the Tron-like version and I was NOT prepared for how fast it was inside. I was holding on for dear life on the hill climb! The video made it look like a typical dark ride experience until the 65 MPH outside, but there was a lot of unexpected intensity inside too.
You know, I often don't understand why people are complaining about the updated version. Atleast the didn't turn it into a Pixar cars film. Of course, I'm gonna miss this old version, but I think the new version is as good as the other. I rarely like ride changes, but this is by far the only change that I'm ok with.
I ride this around 2006ish - haven’t been back. It was really cool but even back then “ABS” simulation felt very outdated :D Thanks for the upload - brought back a lot of memories :)
Honestly it wouldn't be a good Cars theme, because it is testing your ability to build a car. When you go in to build your car before the actual ride starts you put how much turbo you want, how much brakes, how big the tires are, the design of the car. So I don't see how that could relate to Cars.
I just went to Epcot back in July and I remember going on this ride back in like 2003-2007 I can't remember exactly when it was but I will always love this ride I just wish they didn't update it. That barrier test was one of my favorite parts and I don't think they had it anymore you just go straight outside.
I live on the West Coast and go to Disneyland all the time. Unfortunately the one time I took a trip out to Disneyworld, this ride was closed. But it appears to basically be the same ride/technology as the Cars ride (Radiator Springs Racers) in California Adventure.
The Test Track ride feels like you 're going much faster than 60 mph ( it feels more like 100+ mph ) like on a roller coaster. It feels more like you're riding in some glorified souped up go kart at 100 + mph than cruising in the family sedan on any Highway at a boring 60 mph, especially in the banked curve areas of the track. The whole maze inside and out was really an experience. Believe it or not it was really fun. It's a Blast ! I would love to get to do it again ! : -)
I remember taking this version of the ride a year before it closed for the revamp. Honestly this one has a more real feel to it than the somewhat unrealistic version that replaced the old one.
Vincent Belotti I agree with you, but i have to admit that the current version fits into future world a lot better than the old version did. Not to mention it was becoming quite dated. I still miss the original to this day as it was part of my childhood but nothing lasts forever.
i really miss the old version, it was just apart of my childhood, i like the new one, its the same track. this one just felt more relistic and had a real "test" feel. the que i miss the most it was just so intresting and had more to look at, the new is just kinda bland. the car building part is cool, but i just love the old version
They could’ve easily just added the car customization aspect to the old ride, but instead they had to go and ruin a part of my childhood by making it a cardboard cut out and neon light fest. The old ride always rivaled Haunted Mansion for my favorite ride, but the new one is just something I do once or twice every trip just to say I did it. Bottom line the new one (for me, I know a lot of people like it, and I completely respect that you have a differing opinion) just plain sucks.
0:33 *_PUL UN DA JALOW STRAPP_* Edit: she should also wear that red rotating lights thing on their head so she would look like a crappy noise ambulance
shit man i do miss this version of test track, but i'll be quite honest.... dark rooms with neon shit are my aesthetic, so i actually really like the new test track too.
When I went on test track with my dad and my brother, the beginning part when it mentioned OnStar, my dad cracked up laughing cause our car has OnStar and he uses it a lot and he thought it was funny that they included it in the ride

irelandbloke Yes, and it is wayyy better now.
Yes. I was on it yesterday at Epcot
I went to Disney for a field trip and I got but hurt that I couldn't get to ride test track so I ate two turkey legs and threw up
that sounds like something that would happen to me lmao 😂😂
My kind of experience at Disney but Mickey pretzels instead of turkey 😂😂😂
You are funny no offence
The ride had too long of a wait time (over an hour) and my dad didn’t want to wait. So I didn’t get to ride it. 😭
Thoose darn teachers!!! Yw
Greetings! I'm working on a video about jumpscares on rides. May I use this footage and give your channel full credit?
Hello, sure you can use it.
Didn’t expect to see you here!
This is one of my FAVORITE rides at Disney World.
You never experience being a test track dummy anywhere else in the world, haha. Good memories = )
I wonder how many million dollars they spent to make this sleep stimulator.
+MAarshall LMAO exactly.... what a bore.
Have you ever been on this ride? It's really fun actually
+Kaitlyn Pflieger ikr I loved it!
What a boring ride.
The real sleep simulator is its a small world
You have to slap, you have to put that seat belt across your lap, but importantly...
**PULL ON THE YELLOW STRAP**

I could FEEL the heat room so clearly lmao I went in July like a moron 😂
Ember Lea heat chamber scares me because of the sound when it turns on
That's basically how heat chambers r
This ride used to look like this when I first went on it in 2009, i was only 5 years old and I used to be terrified!! Now this ride was completely changed in like 2013 and it kinda looked futuristic, but not too exciting anymore. This is soo nostalgic!!
Thank you for this awesome video! Nothing will ever beat the original ride!
All those giggles, at least somebody was having fun. 😂
Fact!!
You know, I often don't understand why people are complaining about the updated version. Atleast the didn't turn it into a Pixar cars film. Of course, I'm gonna miss this old version, but I think the new version is as good as the other. I rarely like ride changes, but this is by far the only change that I'm ok with.
Chao Flaka hu
Radiator Springs Racers is way better than this shit!! Not sure what you are talking about!!
Chao Flaka nj;, njbtjj🤣😘😍😘
Esapto - yes
Maria Pieroni Aprende a escribir primero!!
I ride this around 2006ish - haven’t been back. It was really cool but even back then “ABS” simulation felt very outdated :D
Thanks for the upload - brought back a lot of memories :)
Man this ride never gets old.
THAT RIDE IS SUPER COOL! And so fast btw
This had the potential to be a great Cars themed ride.
no
Scott Anders Stfu
Absolutely not
Honestly it wouldn't be a good Cars theme, because it is testing your ability to build a car.

See... THIS is how Test Track SHOULD be! Not this all Futuristic Crap like it is now
true
Jeez are you 90
Nope. I’m a fan of Originality
@@deadmandirector3 Me too!
@@janeporter818 Thank you! At least someone understands!
Me when I see the video: Yea I’ll ride that
Me when I’m actually going in line: *nope* *nope* *nope* *nope*
It’s not as scary as it seems
this was me with Everest
It’s so much fun I wasn’t scared and I’m 9 so
It doesn’t seem to scary, there are no big drops or anything.
Yea my mom wanted to ride a coaster with me and the whole time I screamed let me off
Does it ever to go track "B" at 2:40 ?
I don't believe so.
+TheDutyPaid It could be where they send cars in need of repair, where they load and unload them from the track.
I w ya man
they go off just after the seat belt check for repair what was track B (now not identified as anything) is storage.
yes
love how thorough the concept explaination is in the description!!
The barrier test used to get me every time. I’d always worry that the door wouldn’t open in time, and something would go horribly wrong.
.
🤪😜 Here's your 🏆 and 💰 for that comment! My kids belong to the same club as you do!
*welp she’s a bad driver XD*
Exactly like my aunt
U r mean
LOL. Awesome. 😂
best ride in Epcot hands down
I live on the West Coast and go to Disneyland all the time. Unfortunately the one time I took a trip out to Disneyworld, this ride was closed. But it appears to basically be the same ride/technology as the Cars ride (Radiator Springs Racers) in California Adventure.
As someone who lives on the East coast. I had the same situation with Radiator Springs Racers. 🤣
Not to be rude, but what's the point? Haven't we all ridden in cars before? Why we need to go to Disney World to do that?
***** Exactly. That's the point of a roller coaster. This is not a roller coaster. This is riding in a car.
And wow it goes up to 64mph! One goes faster on freeways!
Darren Ediss "Nobody goes there." Tell that to the 10,000,000+ yearly visitors.
Epcot is the 6 most popular theme park in the world Darren.
I’m not a person that likes rides, but I took a chance in this one and really enjoyed it...the speed once you get outside is phenomenal!
Man I loved this ride! I went on it twice in a row when I was there in '99.
***** It was new at the time. I believe it was about a month after it opened.
I remember taking this version of the ride a year before it closed for the revamp. Honestly this one has a more real feel to it than the somewhat unrealistic version that replaced the old one.
This is such a slept over ride! But Its Amazing, I wish people could appreciate it more.
I wish I could go to Disney World and experience this. It must be nice to ride at night.
This is the old version. The new one looks more futuristic.
This is the real Test Track. I really dislike the new one.
Vinny B same, it doesn't give me that childhood vibe. Had they not changed it, I would've had a serious nostalgia trip today when I rode it.
Vinny B I like the old one, too, but it's has aged kinda badly :(
Vinny B i liked the one
Vinny B I liked the old one too.
Vincent Belotti I agree with you, but i have to admit that the current version fits into future world a lot better than the old version did. Not to mention it was becoming quite dated. I still miss the original to this day as it was part of my childhood but nothing lasts forever.
Never rode this version so I was kinda shocked watching it and this looks way better.
Pull the yellow strap 😂😂😂
guess what?
what?
+aidan_64ds (64ds) PULL THE YELLOW STRAP!
+Tim Ruskowski 😂😂😂😂
+aidan_64ds (64ds) I bet she dreams those words in her sleep....
i farted on the seat when i rode this so enjoy that.
Jon Posadny wtf
. 루비
.
Jon Posadny I took a shit
Wow you are a real rebel...can I be your friend?
Did someone say pull on the yellow strap?
Hi I’m moving to flordia and never been to Disney world and wanna go on this ride but does it give u an adrenaline rush I’m scared of those 😣
This ride sucks don’t do it
Two words: That sucked.
I luv these videos. It definitely determines whether I schedule time at a theme park and on what rides to go on (if any).
Keep in mind that they've fully redesigned it.
Lol you probably already went and missed the best EXPERIENCE RIDE AT WALT DISNEY WORLD. ignorant people these days not reading youtube titles.
Sam Arcamone
The Cars/Radiator Springs ride is superior to this crap. At least you get to floor it at the end of the ride and against a fellow rider.
We'll brat, that was the old one if you read the title

Old Test Track vs. Test Track 2.0
Which did you like better?
RadioControl360 2.0
2.0 no truck
Old. As close as you could come to experiencing real life durability testing. Might have freaked some people out I guess.
Old
New one
i really miss the old version, it was just apart of my childhood, i like the new one, its the same track. this one just felt more relistic and had a real "test" feel. the que i miss the most it was just so intresting and had more to look at, the new is just kinda bland. the car building part is cool, but i just love the old version
expesially the dummys getting there body parts slammed by a hammer
I loved the part where you think you're gonna hit a wall
EXACTLY! Couldn't agree more!
I did not know that something like this does exist. It looks and sounds so cool
It's fun hope you can ride it someday.
I waited like 2 hours for this ride but it was fun!
This ride was sooo fun!
The old test track is way better... :(
+AllieCraft 360 Yes that part scared me!
Ikr
Last time I went (which was this year) I saw the truck.
i saw the truck in 2015
UnderDog ! No your not the only one hating it
This is one of my favorite rides it was alot of fun I can't wait to ride test track 2.0

*_PUL UN DA JALOW STRAPP_*
Edit: she should also wear that red rotating lights thing on their head so she would look like a crappy noise ambulance
So basically, a ride in a Tesla you have to wait in line for.
Kinda. But there's no convertible Tesla Model S or Model 3 yet. Feels much faster than it looks!
Went on it many times about 10 years ago... loved it.
shit man i do miss this version of test track, but i'll be quite honest.... dark rooms with neon shit are my aesthetic, so i actually really like the new test track too.
blankbee omg a hetalian
I will try to enjoy the new one. Wait! Disney owns TRON, don't they? Can't they step this ride up ten or twenty notches?
They already have this tron themed rollercoaster in Disneyland Shanghai
When I went on test track with my dad and my brother, the beginning part when it mentioned OnStar, my dad cracked up laughing cause our car has OnStar and he uses it a lot and he thought it was funny that they included it in the ride
A couple years ago when I rode this the line was around 2 and half hours long haha, but it was worth it I loved it
Ohhhh this is the old version of test track, wow.
