Full Test Track experience - Original queue, ride and post show

- A complete look at the original Test Track attraction at Epcot in Walt Disney World. This video shows you the outside, takes you through the whole queue, shows you the pre-show video and then takes you on the ride. The ride video is a mix of a DSLR and GoProHD cameras. Then we take you through the post show area and show you some thumbing outside the attraction.
The attraction closed in April 2012 to be redesigned and reopen in the fall of 2012.

The original version made sense and was awesome. It actually felt like an R&D facility and test track. Current version feels like some designer just got lazy.
heard they're doing a refresh this summer, I hope they bring back some of the old personality
I loved the Original Test Track ride. I worked there as a Disney cast member. I loved ever minute of that place. Man I miss the original!

I like this version better because I like how they explained what they were doing and gave you anticipation for the tests, especially the barrier test! Great childhood memory of going with my grandparents and the ride photo showing my grandmother bracing herself for the crash 😂

Disney’s always like “This is nice… too nice…”
GM (and its subsidiary Chevrolet) have creative control over the ride, so it’s their fault that this was replaced by 2.0, for better or worse.
I would do anything to ride this version of test track again
Having basically lived in and out of automotive shops for my whole childhood, there was something very personal about the old theme
This was so much better rather then the futuristic version now

I never got a chance to ride the original test track. The current version is nice and I’m excited for what the new test track will look like.
While the new version looks prettier, this one had personality
Disney was like "Let's do a Tron ride, everything Tron themed, but then not stamp the Tron logo on it so it's just odd."

Well I’m glad they are ditching the tron theme for showing the innovative future of car technology, especially now with their own original tron ride at MK

I'm so upset they changed it! I loved the old, original one. :( Hopefully they won't totally mess up the test track experience. Although, I did watch some ride-throughs and it looks pretty cool and futuristic,
I have this blind hope that one day this ride will come back. The ridiculous new Tron-based rubbish is so lost on most people whereas this themed original had much more connection and relevance.

I always wondered why this ride scared me as a child and now I'm looking back and see that this is definitely scary to a child's mind!
After being scared for life from MiB Alien Attack and Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Orlando, I purposely refused to ride this, even from going through the line and to walk past the car... (I have autism so everyone in the family had handicapped line cutting passes)
Now watching this a decade later, it wasn't as bad compared to those two, and now I regret that decision 😭
Coming back to this ride with a driver’s license, though the ride was remodeled, I can safely say they did a great job at replicating what it feels like to slide in a vehicle as well as how it feels to approach curves and brake

I swear there was a short run or at least a 1 time ad that showed the crash test car before us physically crashing into the wall. Rather than stationary crashed car
In the old Walt Disney World Explorer computer game, there was a previsualization preview of the ride that depicted such a thing, so that might be what you’re thinking of. I know other snippets of that previz showed up in other promo material like the WDW travelog for 1996 too, so it could be something around that time.
Definitely the best version of the ride, but I’m excited to see what they do with 3.0

What made the orginal scary was that we were staring as test dumies. Feeling like we were going to crash.
2 things: im so glad i rode the og the one time i did bc i still like it better than what it is now. 2: not the surprise test being death- like omg

I love to ride the test track with my first experience @ Epcot Center @ Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida that also will allow guests to buid their own cars & then tried to ride one for themselves.thanks! enjoy the ride!

I loved the new queue.Last time I was there though it was JAM PACKED!! Anyway thanks I loved this ride since I was what 5 ( i'm 10 now and still lovin' it) XD

I haven’t been on the old version because I was to small, I think to go on it but this version is better I think. I really loved the cool wash until that got totally changed. :(
Disney is always updating their rides which i think is great so its not the same boring thing u see year after year...I go to WDW ideally every two years...I can't get enough wish I could go every year but its just not in my financial books...I can't wait to take my daughter...in two years..

I always found it funny when your in the queue it has all of that noise yet there's only 1object actually doing something.
im going in september too, but yeh the ride is closed till november 30th :(

I was so excited to ride this when I went to WDW this past Xmas only to find out that they had totally changed the ride. It was sooooooo disappointing and the Cars ride in DCA is a hundred percent better. This new ride is basically one huge advertisement for cars (and I'm not taking about the movie Cars)

Starting at 0:22 there's a number right under the track that goes from 31 to 27. What was that sign supposed to indicate? The car number going by? This entire time I never knew what it was.

Yep, it's the number of the car going by. In case the Cast Members outside hear something wrong with one of the cars going by, we reported the car's number on the radio.

GM funds the ride, in the end they’re the one who decides how much budget goes towards the retheme. 2.0 is what Chevrolet wanted so that’s what we’re stuck with.
