I’m glad she’s coming up with videos like this during this pandemic because they’re very helpful even if there wasn’t a pandemic and you just couldn’t get out because you were sick
Oh my god. I paused the video and showed my husband the image of your broken nail. I explained that THIS is what a broken nail means. Thanks for doing this to yourself to help us. Dedication
Can you (or have you done?) a video on what to do if you have a crack on the side on your natural nail? Happened to me once and I’ve heard of the teabag trick but I didn’t have time to fix it before it completely broke. Also how bad can if be before you can’t fix it anymore?
You are just the best Suzie. Had a bit of a biting episode recently and your tips on applying acrylics on the less dominant hand came in very handy. Many thank yous! ❤️ from Australia. Hope you, camera man and Grant are keeping safe and well x
For that being the 4th week that’s pretty good. My nails would look like that after the 2nd week. That’s why I don’t get acrylics or gel anymore. I only get to enjoy them for a week.
I've seen worse breaks than that. Nice save suzie!! I've glued mine a few times, but didn't last long. Then again there's a big difference between natural nails and artificial nails. Thank you for sharing your tips, suzie and thanks camera man for another awesome video.
@@ddh71 It sounds like both you and I have a similar tendency to use our nails in place of tools! I think that I will need to start carrying Super Glue with me, too!
I loove those short on point videos usually i don't have much time (for the one who will say now you have all the time i still don't i still go to work) to wach a 20min video on nail tutorials (even though i wish i could) but these videos are amazing have all the information that we need and it is short much love and thank you❤
So helpful! How would you repair this nail if it had fallen off completely? Would you have to remove everything from the nail and recreate the extension with gel?
And that is why I have a bottle of glue near me at all times. Mine have gotten so bad, I soaked them off and used Max Estrada’s 1,2,3 go gel nails! Ordered them when I watched your video with him and they have been sitting in a drawer! Today was the day and they turned out great! Love your videos!
I'm so glad your break didn't hurt! I hate when it gets to the skin 😰 Do you have any tips for trying to keep natural nail length while your overlay is growing out/seperating/chipping off? I've been using my gel polish to hold it all together, but I know it'll get uncomfortable soon 😫
My nails are working towards 7 weeks grow out and i accidentally lifted my natural nail from the nail bed (where it attaches to the skin) lots of pain, some bleeding, but no physical break that I can see. Hoping it will heal and grow out. Miss my nail tech!
I have a crack in the side if my thumb due too the "trench " underneath. I want to salvage the nail as I do them myself. Is there a way to repair it or do I have to completely file it off and start over? I have no lifting etc. Is there a video for a small stress crack?
I have long ass natural nails, never use gel polish, never do nail art and have never been to a salon but I always come back and watch this channel. :D
This is GREAT to know! I have long natural nails, no credit to me (I credit heredity) and I had a near disaster yesterday. Something deep in the innards of my sewing machine jammed yesterday as I was sewing yet another fabric mask. Of course I used a fingernail to try and fix the problem instead of actually searching out a tool and I got my nail stuck! I managed to extract it but it was a close call; I forgot to take into account the fact that (working in a hospital) I have been washing and alcohol-ing my hands an insane amount! I'm going to start carrying Super Glue in my bag (and start actually using tools instead of my poor abused hands and nails)! PS I LOVE all your videos (and have a crush on Mr Cameraman, you're so lucky to have him)!
Are there any specific guidelines you must follow pertaining to long nail length at your workplace, due to COVID-19? I also have long natural nails inherited from the maternal side of my family. Never had any issues about the length in my workplaces as I have always been diligent in keeping them clean (along with hand washing) prior to the outbreak. Still doing the essential maintenance as I've been following the mandatory stay at home in my state.
When my nails broke from time to time, I always used a kiss glue (not the same that you used, but similar) it always held until my next fill (I would get mine filled every 4 weeks).
@katelynn stewart I think that is the same one I use. Has no brush. I used to carry around with me when my college classes were in person sessions just in case I broke one. Lol
I’ve done this to mine. After I did the glue I filed it and added a piece of nail wrap. When I was finished with gel polish it didn’t even look like it had cracked.
Can anyone pls reply...i would appreciate it- TIA!🤗 My mums natural nail under her underlay tore a little on one side. Can i also glue it to stop it from tearing more
I would geuss, or just put a little blob of jel, make sure it does not touch the skin and use that as a splint to keep it in place as it grows out then once its long enough file down
Mich Pool yes you can. If it's really flapping trim the loose bit away and seal it with a little glue. You can gently file it a little when dry if the nail feels rough. Hope this makes sense.
This happened to me, weeks ago now I have to wait for my nail to grow back, before I can do my nails again, at least I'm in Quarantine while it grows back!
I really enjoy watching these videos they are sooooo helpful however I recently bought some polygel online to try and keep my nails looking good-ish and everytime I file them my nail cracks how can I prevent that ?
are you filing the length (i.e. the tip) or the height of the nail? I'm assuming here that your tips are cracking at the end of your natural nail, yeah? make sure you have enough gel along the sidewalls of your nail; if there's a weak point in there, and you file across it, you're basically putting shearing stress every time you pull the file back and forth. Use a gentle hand with a rough-grit file, too, rather than a fine file and lots of pressure.
What I end up doing is I put a lot of product on my nails and then try to file it thinner ( I'm not sure if I'm doing it right) and then I try to file the shape and everything last. And i use forms because the kit came with forms it didn't come with press-on nails I could use.
What kind of cotton pads do you use I’ve always noticed them they don’t look like they have fibers like cotton. Are use paper towels for everything because I just can’t stand cotton balls but yours look good.
I pulled out my old efile and found I needed to buy a new one. I bought the MelodySusie, I think the Scarlet?? It was the machine they sent you after you did the multiple machine reviews, showing you the better model, and you did the entire vid on that machine. I turned it on and it was like I never put it away a long time ago. Now to re-acquaint myself with the acrylic. I am really happy with the new machine. Thank you for sharing it with us. Im happy to find my skills have not totally vanished. I hope you, Cameraman and your family are staying safe. ❤️❤️ from Toronto. If I ever get to your area, After covid is over, me & my friend will take your courses. I will definitely have to book an appointment for a mani pedi as well ☺️ Stay safe ❤️
Could you do a video and wear test on nail guards with polygel? You know those stickers that you put on your natural nail? I like polygel but it wrecks my nails and wondering if these would work for polygel to stay on for at least a week, maybe 2? Thanks!!
I've been watching you regularly because, well, I do my own gels, and I need alllll the help I can get! I'm licensed to do nails, but that doesn't mean I should do them😂.. plus I'm disabled anyway. One of my conditions causes my nails to be very, very thin and fragile due to malabsorption of nutrients. Hence the gel. I found builder gel especially helpful as my nails got worse. I have an E-file, and I tore up my cuticles until I got decent bits for it. Really, I just want to thank you and Camera Man for continuing to upload videos like this one💜

I want to start a nail carrier aside from college, I want to start on my own nails to practice, But I am not sure what type of brushes or other essentials to by to form the nail etc. could someone give me advise please? thank you:)
To start, it will be $$$ to buy everything, I did UV hard gel last summer, and finally have enough money to buy acrylics, I spent $300 about oof..., I would buy- Brush, clear powder ( at least, extra powders that are good to have are pink and white, I rec. Mias Secret on Amazon)monomer, forms, practice fingers ( they are cheap) Good files ( not drugstore, Sallys beauty store has rlly good ones) a cheap nail drill ( bits to buy: medium grit safety bit, cuticle clean bit, 5mm balls, arbor bands, and a medium cone) Primer, dehydrator, buffing block

This was so painful to watch 😭 I felt kind of sick half way and when she said it was holding onto her skin oh my I just wanted to pass out, yup I have a thing with traumatized nails 😅 they give me the heebie jeebies but thank you Suzie for the helpful information
I had a nail on week 4 fully crack today (it was a small crack literally yesterday on the side) and it broke my natural nail and it bled 😭😭 thankfully I am getting into my nail salon to fix it now
My nail has broken across like yours but it’s a clean crack near the base of my nail. My acrylic nail cracked and is attached to my real nail (My nail won’t come off as it’s stuck to the skin under my nail making it painful to move) which has cracked with it. It’s really painful so I’ve bandaged it up with tissue and tape to not catch it. What do you recommend I do I’m really worried?😓
I wish Suzie and cameraman could do podcasts. Both of their voices are so calming and therapeutic.
Or audiobooks!
Agree 💯
I would love to hear about what the think about in the news and certain stories they hear about

If your nails aren’t lasting long it’s possible that they’re not strong enough. A good nail tech would leave a good C curve and apex for strength
Monica oh.. I’m sorry. I meant the out growth. My nails grow too fast.
