    this video is one of my top ten favorites. i began my nail journey ,because i didnt want to go back to salon for full set. it can get a expensive . i started with easy gell and then decided to try my hand at acrylics. i recently started applying full cover softgel nail tips.
    thats not the main focus of my post. i loved how suzy showed us how to tackle cracked nails and focusing on The hyponychium. i have a tendency to trim the nail too short. thank your advice on how to clean up the nail product and the cracked nail suzy.

    This was fascinating. I was surprised to see a pocket lift during a fill on myself today. I spent the time to carefully remove all of the lifted bits and bit the bullet and cut my nails down. Lifting is a key sign for me that the nail is too long for my lifestyle. It’s okay, it’s Christmas and I want to cook all,of the things anyway!

    Oh, it broke right at the "quick" (as we dog owners say.) Ow, I winced the minute I saw the break. This is such an important topic to cover because broken nails do happen in real life and our most natural tendency is just to rip it off (well, it is if you're me.) This is a reminder to breathe, do not panic and there really is a less painful way than ripping it off.

I do recommend your channel first and foremost whenever anyone says they want to learn to do their own gel or acrylic. If they want to do it *right* and not potentially hurt themselves, they gotta spend some time over here with the lovely Suzie first! I think your content is also extremely helpful for newbies getting their nails done by pro's too. Not everyone knows how to spot good vs bad quality work.

    Suzie, you're super! Can you invent an extension that is: (1) thin (like silk repair) but STICKY on the bottom half of the nail but then (2) a clear normal but thin extension on the other half (tip) of the nail? The half sticky part could then be placed on the natural nail and covered over with builder gel to even it out. It would stay on much better than extensions that are glued on or Gel/LED'd on. 🙏💙

    Suzie I'm learning everything I can about nails. I was wondering, do you ever soak polygel off like you soak off gel nail polish or is it ok to just file away and then replace with the new set of nails?? I love wearing nails all the time and I love protecting my natural nails with things like gel polish and polygel, but when I get a nice set that lasts for a while if they finally pop off I find my nails peel if there are parts that were still holding on to the product. Please tell me how I avoid this

      Without diving into the your specific details - I find a common area to speed your time is in the prep. We can really loose a lot of time here. Focus on how to remove old product much quicker. Better Bits, Newer Bits. Use Efile if your hand filing. Or use more pressure or increase speed on Efile ( if your comfortable) try that
      Prep should take ( after practicing - 15 mins )

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  5 місяців тому +1

      It’s really best to know what product or ingredient in the part you’re using you might be allergic to. If it’s one of those products, some of the products will be made without that particular ingredient. But until you know what it is, you won’t know what to look for. Clearly you need to avoid any Gel type products altogether sadly, you can try acrylic, but acrylic and gel are very similar chemically. So you may not have any change there however, again depending on the ingredient, it may not be in there. I do suggest if you want to continue with Nails you could try glue with full covered tips because tips are plastic, but again until you know what the ingredient is it could be in the plastic and it could be in the glue. And if it is, don’t underestimate nail polish I love it.

      It sounds like you’ve developed an allergy to gel polish. I’m not quite sure because I don’t have all the exact information from your comment. But I’m surmising it is gel polish because of the reaction. It’s best to remove the polish right away and don’t use any until you find exactly what ingredient it is that you’re allergic to.

    😍👏perfect! I loved this! And I learned so much 😳. Suzie, you are so cute❣ That nail must have been hurting you, stressed on the hyponychium like that😵! QST: How do I clean and maintain my husband's extra long hyponychiums? He's a blue collar dude and his hands are strong and calloused and you name it. So the greases and oils get *STAINED ONto and INto HIS HYPONYCHIUMS*! He wants the smallest sliver of a free edge but I can't give him that w/o making his hypo's depressed backward behind that teeny free edge. So of course its painful but I try so hard not to hurt him. I very much literally (and I do mean l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y !) will spend a good 3-5 HOURS while he sleeps just doing his manis b/c I'm going so slow and being as careful as I can to not hurt him and at the same time to discipline his hypos to give him the free edge he wants. I've tried using cuticle oil and those nail scrubbies to rub off the grease on his hypos and it just doesn't really work. I've run out of options that I can think of 😩🙏PLEASE help us! (Just to let you know, I'm using the basic "cave-men" tools b/c I'm not a nail tech; so I have cuticle pushers, clippers, nippers, tweezers, buffers, ect.) What can I do? 🥺
