Anybody watching this still, at 7:18 you'll see one of two C-clip retainers behind the stabilizer. Remove the C-clips and the whole headlight assembly lifts up and gives you full access behind the headlights. More room to work than he stated.
Yep I had a go today after a couple of tips from Chris at BM Ringwood, main one being put a bit of WD40 on the park light retaining case, bingo it came out. Replaced light and put it back together.
I understand all about that little parking light on right side of the bike. Started today, put it all back together because I became worried I would wreck the cables. I'm now an expert at getting the low beam light out now as I have replaced it three times, it's a bit easier to replace the low beam light, I think that's what "ChoppEsco" might have been alluding to. Looks like the screwdriver does the trick. I'll have another go sometime in the next week.
Question for you, when you put your high been bulb in did you have an issue where the bulb turns on but just doesn’t seem like it’s getting enough power? My low beam side works perfect but when I turn on my high beam side it turns on but is just super dim to the point where it’s like it’s not even on.
I have a 2014 S1000RR and I didn't have too take everything apart. All I did was: 1) Removed the high beam bulb. 2) Using a pair of needle nose plier, all I did was grab the plug (black plastic part / not the wires) and wiggled and pulled at the same time. The key is to slowly wiggle the plug while pulling, once it starts to come loose, it's pretty simple. 3) When putting the plug back in, make sure you line up the plug correctly and then just push it back in. Also before putting everything back in, test all the lights first to make sure everything is working. It's basically a 5 minute job to do. Also helps if you have small hands ;)
You should buy ur self a head lamp that way can use both your hands. Plus it would be nice to see the difference between the projected beams, you know were they land, nice bike ty you for sharing I guess its gonna be my turn in the barrel next but I'm gonna get the turn signals and tail tidy and complete it all together.
Did the upgrade today, I found that taking the useless bulbs out was quite easy, took about 20 mins, mainly due to my heavy hand!!? Placing the RH parking bulb in and the H7 bulb was a proper cu*t, omg... not looking forward to doing that again! Cheers again for the upload.
I went to the link you posted, the company closed, went to another link that just sells the bulbs they say its plug and play with their led bulbs go figure.
A few questions on how well its run, well it's over 2 years later. The lights run absolutely perfectly still. Faultless.

Im sorry you thought you needed a certified mechanic for a shit of a thing, but it's so simple once you realize BMW actually put some thought into it.
Thanks for sharing!
Have noticed any issues since installing -- overheating, electrical faults, or any warping of the headlight housing?
0 mate. And thats a reply 2 years too late probably, but its still running perfect
