That's such a shame that you can't fit LEDs.. I really don't think the stock lights are fit for purpose for a bike of this performance! You can at least fit higher rated halogens, hopefully.
I cannot recommend the low beam I used in this video - I replaced it with a better one: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PWW2Y65/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think this link is for the parking LED: www.amazon.co.uk/Oladwolf-Interior-Parking-Reserve-Replacement/dp/B07D8RCW2H/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=w5w+led&qid=1635103996&sr=8-4
Sorry for slow reply, I didn't get a notification about your question. All I did was to strip back the wires for the Halo and poke the bare wires into the parking light socket against the terminals. Then I put the parking light back into the same socket. Caveman style 😁
Here you go: www.chipguard.co.uk/shop/motorcycle-protection/bmw-1/bmw-s1000-r-2018-diy-tank-kit/ I also got a simple roll of 3M paint protection film too via Amazon but that harder to use because you have to cut it up yourself for wherever you want to use it: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0017SBH10/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item
Hi, the eBay page has been changed by the seller since I bought these so the link might not be that helpful. On the page now it doesn't mention the diameter of the angel eyes I bought (EDIT actually it does under the "length" drop down list) but the ones I got were 70mm dia. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352332795348
I think it's only the North American market where the low beam switches off a couple of seconds after you switch the high beam on. In the UK and the rest of Europe the low beam stays on all the time as long as the engine is running.
Nice vid again, I like you keep the mistakes in :) Are you going to trademark 'Givvi Rack Thingy' :) I did the Angel eye mod, it does look good, must admit I try not to ride at night.
Honesty is the best policy... Well some of the time! The angel eye is purely for looks, but i think the standard halogens are rubbish! I do occasionally do some riding after dark and I'd much prefer to have "white" light to that dull yellow stuff dribbling over the front mudguard 🤣
bud check out s1000r owners on facbook people there will give you any help you need( p.s the first tank protector was upside down ) also you have a power outlet under the left fairing :)
Cheers for that, I haven't seen the FB group. And I put the first tank pad on upside down on purpose! I did mention that in the video... I thought it would look better like that, another mistake lmao 😁
If you are referring to the angel eyes? They are not advertised as waterproof but I mounted them with silicone sealant and I've had no trouble in the rain so far.
@@chewrick565 ah, got you! The low beam LED has failed once and had to be replaced but I think that is more down to not spending big bucks on a major brand rather than rain. The heatsink and fan looked clean when I pulled the bad one out. However I can't be 100% certain so I take your point.
Led bulbs are shite. They are not designed to be used in a standard housing, the beam pattern will always be way off. Yes they look cool as they are true white, but function wise they don't work nearly as well. Hi beam they work well as on these bikes it's a projector. To get a led bulb for low beam to work correctly U need to modify the housing and turn it into a prjector
No argument with any of your points! However one important aspect of LED lights over conventional bulbs are that the white light will make your bike more visible in traffic in the day. Also on the S1000R the conventional low beam is a joke in terms of brightness/penetration at night and the LED works better to light up the road even if the beam pattern itself is worse. I'd love to convert the low beam to a projector housing but it would cost quite a bit of money that I'd rather spend elsewhere!
Plastic JB Weld works wonders on my fairings
Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure where that broken bit is now... I remember putting it somewhere "safe" 😁
It looks nice! I wanted to install led light on my s1000r, but I can lose my driver’s license because it is prohibited in my country.

Can you include a link for the low beam and parking light parts link please?

What do the halos plug into? Or did you tap into somewhere?

@@RikkyTang so tap into the parking light underneath the high beam unit?
Yeah, that's what I did (sorry I'm still not getting notifications about these comments and I missed this one)

How did you get both high and low beams to stay on at the same time?

I can't understand why you didn't give yourself more space behind the cowl by simply moving the handlebars/forks . . . ???
Me niether...

without the cover for the bulbs, is definitely not rideable on rainy days,
