- Striper fishing in the BEST SPOT I know for WORLD CLASS FISH. We have been fishing this bay for over 15 years. Although we have been very fortunate to catch countless fish over 40 pounds and DOZENS over 50 pounds, the 60 pound fish have successfully eluded is. Today my youngest Son was the first to put a 60 pound class fish on the deck of the Sea Pro! Chesapeake Bay.

When I was a kid, my father would go fishing a week at a time. He would come home with Cod, haddock, blue fish, and stripers in two 55-gallon drums filled to the top (we never saw anything small. He only kept the large fish).This is still one of my favorite videos. 🎣

Catching fish, whatever their size, and being 100% responsible for their release, I can't argue with that even if I'm now an ex-fisherman (except on UA-cam!). Your final comment on the release as being "the greatest feeling in the world" speaks for us all.

I've never caught a striper yet. I fish on shore and maybe that's why. I don't fish all the time. Matter of fact I haven't been fishing in years cause I'm sick of not catching anything. I hope I can catch one one day. I'm from Massachusetts and I must be the only guy who's fished for stripers and haven't caught one yet.

THATS RIGHT!! The bigger guy is my youngest Son, and the smaller guy is his best friend. They were home from ECU on break so we snuck out for a few days before they had to go back to work. My oldest is at NC State and couldn’t get away. As you can imagine they grew up fishing a lot and my youngest son here is COMPLETELY ATE UP!! He has salt in his veins. I’m so glad he was the one to catch this beauty. He can operate my electronics like a BEAST!! 😛😛😛

"Wow" those two beautiful great stripers, I did not think that we still had fish of that size in our Coast, so you guys are very very lucky. I am 69 years old and I can remember when my dad went to a tournament in 1960 at Pacifica for the annual striper Derby, he won the derby with a 64 pounder off the shore casting so I thought that was the ultimate but you guys are blessed to catch a 50 and 60 that is amazing what a beautiful day!!!

Fishing for stripe bass is a lot of fun. We have many giants like that in the Hudson River where I’m from. Unfortunately I couldn’t fish for Stripers this year because of Covid-19. Many fisherman that were laid off from their day jobs, were buying all the bloodworms, Shad and Herring in the area to go fishing every day. Every time a shipment of bait will come in. It will sell out in minutes. Next year I will try to catch my own Shad for bait. Shad works great for stripers but over here, they go crazy for Bloodworms and Herring.
