As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
I’ve made a couple sets of these doors usually out of hardwood for a few of my customers now. Not always the most exiting project but people are happy to pay for them
I built barn doors out of old pallets and the hobby boards from Lowe’s. I put wear marks in the wood to “age” it and made old rust stain from steel wool and aminos. They turned out amazing. With all the hardware I had just over $200 into the set. Most of that being the hardware.
Great video. I like the drying method you used. I've never seen that before and will be making a mental note for the next time I've got two sides of something to dry. Thanks!
Nice work! One does need… all the tools, a workshop, know how, the tinkering, the hardware (and hopefully not made in China) and a roller guide for the base. Also finding good studs in wall is never easy in some parts of the country and you need a faux beam or ledger up top. Also about 3-5 hrs of time to complete it.
Nice work breaking down a project that looks pretty advanced and showing that it’s actually pretty simple. Obviously if you can plan ahead and do the groove for the floor pin before assembly that’s the easiest, regardless of the tools used.

How do you size the barn door to the door opening. Also with a barn door do I have to remove the molding from the door opening?
