I remember fondly the video you made featuring your Grandpa at 100 years of age still woodworking in his shop. What a beautiful story! I’m sorry to hear that you now have lost him. Maybe something that could be positive from his loss would be to channel his love of woodworking into your future projects. As you work on each piece of furniture for the new house, keep thinking of him and how proud he would be of your accomplishments! Beginner woodworker (female, 61, probably not your regular audience) and I’ve learned a lot from you… as for Wen - I have a track saw from them and LOVE IT.. of course I’ve never used an expensive tool so I have nothing to compare to except how much easier it is to breakdown plywood. Hi, I will be 60 in February and just starting out in wood working so we are NEVER too old to start new things. Good luck with all you do and wish me luck please too. Anyway, I just wanted to say, since I’ve been following you so closely, I felt it when you said Grandpa Picciuto died this year. I’m really sorry to hear that, man. It’s very clear how cool of a relationship you guys had, and the respect you give him on your show must have made him proud of you and proud to be the guy who gets that kind of recognition.

I have had the pleasure of being friends with 6 Doxies, all males over the last 28 years. I drove OTR and the last 3 were trucking partners and traveled many, many miles with me. As a WEN 12in Drill Press owner, I can say that it was 100% worth the money, but you also get what you pay for. Not a machinists drill press, but perfectly solid for woodworking. Buy good drill bits, they make a huge difference to its performance.
Happy birthday Duke. Aw gorgeous wee dogs. We've always been dog people. Had a gorgeous golden lab retriever (that wouldn't retrieve a thing unless she felt like it!) for 13 years. We miss her still. Now with two kitties who'll be 2 in March. Christmas tree is fun! Daily workout, several times a day. It's a different ball game with cats but we love them too. They're mad fun. Alright, I just had the silliest idea for a project that is right up your alley; Nesting Bandsaw Boxes. Start with a big piece, like 24" on a side, cut a bandsaw box out of it. Then, with the material you removed from the drawer, turn that into a box, etc. etc. Bonus points if they actually end up fitting inside one another.

Love your work. These small builds are great and would definitely make awesome gifts! I stuck around to the very end, cheers! I have a dachshund named Chilli and we’re his 3rd owners, not sure his age either but we think at least 12 now. He’s a long hair and a total barking jerk but the best cuddler and we love him. My Nono Zambelli was a woodworker hobbyist and made all kinds of furniture. Nothing perfect but it’s mostly all still around 40+ years later. You’re lucky to have had your grandfather around as mine passed before I got to know him. I think my passion for woodworking comes from him. Anyways I wish you and your wife all the best in 2024! I've been following you since your channel was the Drunken Woodworker. I loved all of the videos with Grandpa Picciuto. As far as I could tell by the way you talk about him, he was an awesome and amazing man. God bless you in 2024 and I really hope the channel does blow-up in the coming year. Explode even. Funny story to add. Our dog is a Goldendoodle and we ended up naming him Snickerdoodle since he looked like the cookie when he was a puppy. However, like you said, it just doesn't roll off the tongue, so we just call him Snickers.

Interesting that you put the bandsaw box so early in the list in terms of "easiness". I've always found them super difficult! I think because unlike a LOT of other projects, I can't rely on fences and such to keep my work pieces in proper orientation, I actually have to follow an organic line with a bandsaw, and for some reason I find that really hard.
My first ever project was a bandsaw box! And my second. 🙂

"analog clocks are beautiful and timeless" timeless because most young people don't know how to read them.....
most of my tools are dewalt (for no other reason than that's what was on sale when I bought my first tool and I didn't want to get into multiple battery platforms). I did buy a few WEN tools though and I always tell everybody that I've been super impressed by them so far. They are definitely great for starter tools. I have the oscillating spindle/belt sander, drill press, band saw, rolling dust collector, and the track saw. The only one that is sketchy is the track saw if you wanna do beveled cuts. breaking down sheet goods at 90 degrees is perfect though.
I enjoyed the talking at the end. I prefer videos with talking in general. all the videos with background music or nothing at all usually get sped up to 5x or faster or just skipped all together.
