Hey man- I’m starting a window tint business. I was looking to see what a good credit card would be for a business like this. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Awe damn I live in AZ but saw this too late but I have a sunroof that I'm wondering if I should get it ceramic as well? I have all my other windows ceramic even windshield just want to keep heat out, what you think
I have never seen that much attention paid to the edges of the window to make it a truly perfect fit- and I’ve had at least 10 cars professionally tinted for myself personally. That is amazing craftsmanship.
I’m a window tinter. If you want the 3M logo to come off you can use a magic eraser and some water and it comes off with such ease. The alcohol takes a lot more hard rubbing. Magic eraser works insanely easy
@@sebastian3004 technically, anything you rub on anything else is 'sandpaper'. The physics behind something like a magic eraser equates it more to the effect a clay bar has on removing contaminants from paint: it literally creates vacuum on the surface, which emulates friction, and pulls off foreign material. The level of abrasion is actually quite low.

Now that is a pro job! I just bought a new car and looking forward to get it tinted. I will also be getting the ceramic IR as well. They block out 85% IR and 99% UV rays. I won’t be using the 3M brand film but Suntek instead. They provide the same performance and have the same lifetime warranty.
I have to use my fog lights + regular headlights all stock. I should upgrade to led tho. Ceramic tint is easier to see thru but appears darker from the outside.
Crystalline is actually worse than the 3M Ceramic IR. Lot of places here in Texas are not carrying it any more because they have had failures with Crystalline and have rarely seen problems with the 3M Ceramic IR just if you are wondering.
How is it worse? Comparing the spec sheets, Crystalline supposedly has better performance (particularly IR rejection, but also glare reduction & IRER) at the same VLT level as Ceramic IR. Interestingly, Crystalline’s VLT seems to be heavily incongruent with the “titled” tint strength. For example CR 70 has 58% VLT. Why not name it 60 then?? Interesting, regardless. Tomorrow I’m replacing the crappy Rayno S5 that was (unbeknownst to me) put on my Tesla MS plaid, when I thought I was getting SunTek CIR. Shop had great reviews and I’d just moved to a new area, so didn’t have any known quality shops. I wouldn’t call it a scam, because it was rather cheap, and it was partially my fault for not verifying that they were applying SunTek, when I brought the car in. They, like many shops, seemed to have the attitude (at least customer-facing attitude) that Ceramic = good/best/“premium” option and all ceramic tint is the same. To them, tint is only differentiated by Ceramic/dyed/metallic and etc… disappointing. Anyway, I’ve since found a good shop, and am having the tint redone. Was going to do Crystalline 70% on the windshield, for a happy medium (58%) between true-70% and 50% VLT. And the higher TSER rating for Crystalline is a plus, because I suspect a lot of heat, discomfort, and etc. originates from the windshield (never had a tinted windshield before) and I’m looking forward to getting it to reflect as much solar energy as possible. Was going to get the rest in Ceramic IR, because Crystalline doesn’t come in the VLT levels I’m looking for (25% fronts. 15% rears & hatch window). Does that sound like a prudent call? Or should I switch the Crystalline windshield for Ceramic IR. My guy at the shop said he liked IR better than Crystalline too, but it was over message and I haven’t heard him elaborate yet.

I have this every day driver car, which is nothing special, I got it for the good gas mileage. But I still take good care of all my vehicles and keep them clean, and want to be comfortable while I drive. I decided that tinting the windows would be more relaxed for me and make it look better. So especially lower range, I don't need the best thing out there, but I'm not buying Walmart tint and doing it myself because... I don't want garbage. I guess lower to mid range, if that's even possible. I have no idea what it costs. Also. I don't need people to rip me off. Can anyone give me an idea of what it would cost? Or what I should expect to pay?
@Basketball American way things have been, gas prices and such, i decided to put that aside and haven't looked into it since. I did ask someone at this small car audio place if he could give me some idea, and it turned out the guy who did tints there just stopped showing up a few weeks earlier. CV related stuff or something. But he did 'guess' it was somewhere around $150. So $570 may sound like a lot, but i think that depends. Quality of material and how professional the place is.
