I remember my worst day working at Six Flags. It wasn't something that happened to me specifically but to a girl I worked with. She was a very sweet girl who'd be the last person you'd expect to be yelled at by guests. I can't go into too many details for reasons, but some very very entitled guests ended up screaming at her over something that she had zero control over. They ended up giving her a panic attack and she needed to go to the hospital as a result. The entitled guests were glad to see her suffer and called her some nasty names.
Suffice it to say, they were given a lifetime ban.

It's always great when people of authority don't stop bullying you report, then seem to wonder why you finally explode and decide to get YOU into trouble more often than the actual instigator......!
I thought people grew up once they entered into the real world but obviously I've learned differently. They haven't stopped bullying, I haven't stopped holding grudges. And people wonder why I don't easily trust.
Nice Cyber-shirt this video by the way!

As a visitor at King's Island in the past, I was on the log flume (a favorite water ride in the summer). Getting on the platform to get on the ride - saw that a person was waiting in a wheelchair. They were ready to get on - the people wanted the wheelchair person to get on last. Why? I don't know as they just left them one log at a time went by. I gave up my spot in the flume boat and told them to put them in it. It took only a moment and I got on the next flume boat.
Turns out the wheelchair person had been waiting an hour. The manager of the ride was ticked off with the kids running the ride too.

As a, younger, theme park guest, I was 17 and it was a class trip, not so much the theme park itself, but the ride back, the bus that was supposed to come pick us up, was at 6 to 7 pm. It came at 10:30 pm and it was nearly midnight, when I got home, my folks were worry, but relieved, that I was safe and sound. I still remember to this day, for the wrong reason.
Thank you very much, for your amazing contents and take care of yourself.:D

Oh, Disney PhotoPass QA screening every photo before it goes to the guests, are they still there?
PhotoPass QA is one of the first thing that came to my mind when watched your video and I learned about Disney replacing human photographers with a box stuck to a wall.

As far as I know they still have people in the QA department. I imagine some of it has become automated as computers have gotten smarter, but there's still some of it that just can't take the place of a human eye.

I worked in entertainment at a theme park in Georgia. And I was hanging christmas lights in a closed location. It was a tent with a wood entry door and there was an "attraction closed" sign on the door. But a woman came into the attraction to breastfeed her child in privacy. I told her that she should not be there and suggested a couple places nearby that would be safer and more comfortable. However, this woman took offense and complained to management. In Georgia there is a state law that you can't discriminate against breastfeeding mothers. I was called into the office where I encountered management, lawyers, and the woman sitting at a table. They wanted to know why I told her that she could not be there, and if I apologize for it I would not be charged with a crime. We ended up apologizing to each other when it was revealed that I was telling her to leave a closed attraction for her and her child's safety and not because of her breastfeeding.

The fight thing was absolutely not your fault. I probably would have snapped, too. And you have nothing to be embarrassed about with you hurting so much you can't move. I've had to deal with that, too. It's not fun.

My worst time? Ooooh boy. This was when I was working as a ride operator, and I was the the first position (one of two) at the only coaster in my section. (Was known as Runaway Reptar at the time, but is on its fourth name now.) I was the one letting guests in, checking heights, checking restraints, etc. There was one family that came in, and the son was a good TWO INCHES too short. The (presumably) mom argued LOUDLY with me that her son was tall enough and they’d ridden it just the other week, etc etc. when I showed her on my measuring stick he was too short she measured him with her hand at an OBVIOUS angle and with only the tops of her long nails above the line (standard for measuring was flat hand , and looking at the BOTTOM of the hand). This went On and On and she was LOUD. My coworker, instead of backing me up or calling the supervisor, told me to let him on. Dad got on with the boy while Mom went to the exit as only one parent could ride with him. As she walked away, she loudly called me a witch with a B. I had never been so humiliated or undermined at that job and I nearly cried. I was also convinced that the boy was going to fly out (thankfully he didn’t). Most of the families that came were good, but the bad ones... ugh.

Ouch. That sucks. And your coworker didn't do any favors to anyone with their actions. It's to bad your lead/ supervisor wasn't around. Instead it just gave the lady more ammo to use the next time she wants to endanger her kid. I'm sorry.

    Worst days at my jobs:
Holding the back door closed while on shift alone and someone was trying to pick the lock. Close to midnight. Wasn't supposed to be alone on shift, but it happened regularly. Very unsafe neighborhood as well. A week after I quit the place was held up with a shotgun...never had security cameras.
Same job, arrived early to work, and had to call the cops, because storefront two doors down had a broken glass entry door. Glad I went to a distance to call, turns out the guys were still in that building. I did get a free lunch when the owner found out it was me that called.
ALSO that same job, Witnessed the pizza delivery girl get her car stolen from right in front of the next building over, had to give a police statement. (I knew the local cops pretty well at this point!)
And at my current job, this one still makes me mad, one of my coworkers started having a seizure while in the middle of helping a woman with her order. His head hit the wall, then the concrete floor on the way down. I rush to help him, get a towel under his head, call for my manager to get better help, so on and so forth...and the woman he had been helping "oh great, can you hurry it up, I'm going to be late"......I have no nice words for that woman. My coworker was fine after he got medical help, he is still doing fine with no repeat episodes.

As a theme park guest… i think the worst thing i ever had happen to me was our trip to dolly wood in 2018. Thunder and lightening shut the park down for close to a hour probably and the gluten free pizza tasted like cardboard…

Don't feel bad about loosing your cool! I did that quite regularly, especially with the supervisors out of the office! In fact, one night, I got into an argument with one of our supervisors when he showed up to handle a customer complaint. Needless to say, the complaint never got handled because we wound up in a fist fight right there on the ride, in front of the public even!

@@SirWillow It depends on where you live. Some laws extents specifically to private property. If the rock situation exists in California it's a violation of Cal-osha.

not on an amusement ride. lol When it is a permanent feature of the driving course, and it's a well known "natural" obstacle they aren't going to put a sign on it any more than they would put a sign on the backside of Schwitzer Falls on Jungle Cruise to beware the rock and keep arms inside the boat. Because it's not something that anyone other than people trained specifically for it are going to deal with it doesn't need a sign.

Because if a guest had found the gun... I can't think of to many good options there, and a number that would have been very "not good."
I'm happy you found it very memorable and enjoyed it. It means we covered really well for something that could have potentially gone very wrong and managed to do a decent show while our minds were completely on other things. :-)

The day care van drivers are the worst drivers! 😡 Because at one of the local elementary schools they have day care vans that come pick up kids, and they don’t know how to park😡 (stubborn) 😱
I think we’ve all had those types of coworkers😝😡 Trust me I know you felt. But, none of us is perfect, only God is.

Gee, let's see... bad day/night stories as a ride operator in 15 1/2 years, where to start?? I guess I'll start with Laney College Oakland. This lady and her son come up through the line for the ride I was working at the time, Bumper Cars, as I remember. The young tyke was obviously too small to get on. Mom insisted and argued and screamed and sweared, and hollered bloody murder to let him on. I stood my ground and refused to let the kids on! Up until she reaches into her purse and pulls out this "Dirty Harry" hand gun! And yes, very much the real deal! Cocks the hammer back in my face! You know what?! Get On!!!

    Wait, really live guns?
Was there a procedure in case some guests decided to be funny and try to pry them out of your hands? Or if other people than cast members found the one lying behind?

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  2 роки тому

There were lots of procedures. Number one being don't let the guests get anywhere near them
