  • Dumb guests aren't just in parks, they're on airplanes as well! Don't be like these "winners" that we dealt with on our plane flights to and from Israel. You'll see why they were annoying and a pain to deal with.
    A behind the scenes look at what a former worker at Disney World, Silver Dollar City, and Busch Gardens Florida experienced in his time working at the parks. From driving large safari trucks around live wild animals while cracking one silly joke after another, to spending 5 years as a PhotoPass photographer at Walt Disney World and seeing and experiencing all sorts of things, to being a conductor and train robber on the famous Frisco Silver Dollar Line at Silver Dollar City. With 10 years of working in the parks, there's lots of stories to tell. Here is some of them...

    Thank you for this video, it was FANTASTICALLY awesome! I am 6'2 so airplane seats are a bit uncomfortable. I was flying back from Germany and sat in back of a gentleman who was in his early 60s. He kept slamming back in his seat, to say the least my knees were pretty sore after a 12 HR flight. The hilarious part was the child teaveling with him, who appeared to be roughly 9 or 10, was significantly better behaved! There will be many ppl that sympathize with these scenarios. 😂And kudos to both of you for keeping calm and cool.

    I worked for a cruise line. A group of about 40 came to disembark and did not have thier Visa for one of the ports we were going to. They could not board without them.
    They said the cruise line issues those. We wanted to laugh so hard. We told them they or thier travel agent should have gotten that taken care of and they had an hour to get them.
    The entire group missed boarding and eventually caught up to the ship in Puerto Rico, four days latter.
    Advice = read small print.

    The plane probably would have not returned even if the woman was nice about it because at many airports the airline would have been charged a fee by the airport for the plane returning to the gate.

    I also had a kid behind me on a flight claim racism for having to take his shoes off at security. Like dude, this has been a thing for what, 15 years, at least.

    when I flew to London, the lady next to me spilled her wine on my white coat and kept grabbing at the flight attendant. but the most fun was the small child a few rows back who did not stop screaming the entire 7.5 hour flight. it's an over night flight too!!. but the rest of the trip was fun. my most recent trip wasn't too bad, except my first flight was delayed and once we arrived at the connecting city we had to sit on the tarmac for 20 minutes, my connecting flight was boarding and the flight attendant said while we are sitting there "for passengers who are connecting (pause) we do not have gate information for you". I barely made my flight and learned I need to start running more. which is why I try to do direct flights.

    In 1979 (I was 8), my parents and I went to Hawaii. We flew on a 747 w/Braniff (remember that airline?), the first leg was from Houston to Dallas. The flight from Dallas to Honolulu was 8 hours. Just the year before we had flown to California, so I was well trained in how to act appropriately on a plane. My parents brought some books, Crayons and coloring books. I might've have had a Barbie along. As we were settling in for crossing the Pacific there were 2 kids - my age or older - that were running around that center section like it was a race track. Of courseTheAs I was sitting very little lady-like and even threw them some side eye. They were embarrassing me as a fellow kid! :) Glad y'all had a great trip. The live streams were great. too.

    Well you hit the nail on the head I've had a lot of terrible experiences like that. One sad one was when we sat down next to a child traveling alone who had a huge bag of chocolate bars to offer anybody who sat next to her. She had a really runny nose. By the end of the flight she had fallen asleep on my husband . I feel so bad for children than have to travel alone.

    You're a lot like me when it comes to reacting to crazy people like that.... I wouldn't necessarily call it being passive-aggressive, but just that "Hey, Honey, wouldn't it be nice if we could use our phones? Oh wait we can't...." Or the whole helping the victim to spite the aggressor "Do you want to sit here next to me?" Sometimes that's just the only way to take care of a situation without it escalating by confronting the aggressor. Flying, or actually, "public" travel in general, is always VERY entertaining and interesting just the kinds of people you can see around you. I love watching your "how NOT to be....[xyz]" videos because it gives me a laugh and I always can say "yup, I've seen that type before!!" even just as a guest somewhere. And it just proves that those kinds of people are annoying to EVERYONE, not just picky people. Oh, and Kudos to your wife for being a High School teacher.... those kids are CRAZY nowadays!! Haha.

    I was on a flight with my cousins, who were like 2 at the time, and they were both crying because they needed food or something. There was a woman who decided the best course of action was to start screaming at my aunt, then at my cousins directly, which just made it way worse. People don’t know how to act these days.

    My daughter is 26. This story occurred when she was between 4 and 6.
    I ordered my coach tickets (1 child, 1 adult) online from a third party. The day i arrived at the airport, I noticed that they had been separated 1in front hy door, other by bathroom. I was livid.
    I went to the desk and spoke with the agent She could see i was upset. I explained thus was not acceptable and needed to be corrected. I refused to accept myseating, but added not blaming her for it was not her fault.
    She pulled up the seating chart and found someone to seitch. Because of this gentleman, i was able to sit with my daughter. Ishowered them eith appreciation for doing this. Kudos to the gentleman and the agent

    My hometown doesn't have an international airport, so when I fly to and from China, (I'm an English teacher.) I have to fly to Chicago or Houston. The planes are always small with no leg room and the first time I flew this route the guy in front of me turned and yelled at my to get my knees out of his back. I just stared at him and said, "I'd love to, but I'm 6'2", where exactly am I supposed to move to?" The guy just mumbled and turned around, then the lady sitting next to me started to laugh and said that her husband has the same problem when flying.

    The plane exit charge annoys me almost as much as going through TSA. It doesn't matter how short or long the plane ride is as soon as that plane docks people run pushing and shoving to the front so that they can be the first to... wait.

    Ah, when I went to Israel, I went with Birthright. Some people probably thought we were annoying. What was probably the most annoying passenger was on my flight back who was getting drunk off wine and talking to my friends and I. I wasn't really talking back but because I was near him, I couldn't get wine because "I could give it to him." I'm glad I didn't deal with all the weirdness from your flight! But also glad you had a good time.

    I would not cope with having my window closed on a plane as I get really travel sick (actually throw up) and looking out of the window and sitting at the back of the plane at the same time is the only thing that has helped. I hate flying as I always get ill and regretted having my first ever flight being from UK to Kenya to then travel to Mozambique as that was when I discovered I was travel sick and it was an overnight flight and I was the unlucky person in the middle of the middle aisle in the middle of the plane.

    The reason they tell you to turn off all electronics when you take off and land is not because of interference with the plane, but so that you listen to the instructions of the attendants, which it sounds like the people on your plane did not do. 😕

    Hey buddy! You probably don’t remember me, but I used to go by the name BunnyBoo. I forgot the login to my account because I couldn’t use it for so long whilst I was in hospital. I’m glad to tell you that I have made an almost full recovery now and life is getting back to normal. I’ve been trying to get the account back for so long without making a new account because I didn’t want to have to lose all of my subscriptions and everything. I’ve been watching your videos as much as I could, but sadly haven’t been able to for a while now as I’ve been not allowed on the internet after another attempt caused by cyber bullying. My mum downloaded a few videos for me and so I’ve been rewatching your old ones for a while. You’ve been such a big help, letting me smile and feel like I’m not alone. Whenever I feel like giving up, I just watch your videos and instantly feel better. You’re amazing and I can’t thank you enough. 😁

    Drunk before the flight? That's bad. It only gets worse when you get in the air... As far as the no shoes group, they've obviously never watched a "flight attendants tips" video on UA-cam. Airplane floors are disgusting. There's never enough time when you're prepping the plane to even really vacuum, much less deep clean. Might as well go to your local county jail and ask permission to walk barefoot in one of the showers. Yes, you'll get a weird toe fungus, but it won't be as bad as walking barefoot in a plane.
    My worst long distance flight was 11 hours from Tokyo to Seattle. This was in the early 90's, so you'd think I didn't have to deal with electronics. No such luck... Our flight to Tokyo had been great, so empty that everyone got their own row. But on the way home we were completely packed, they had problems with temperature control and we were stuck across the aisle from a 12 years old girl from Japan with a handheld game (this was before gameboys). She was asked repeatedly by the flight crew to turn the volume off as multiple people, including myself had complained. Her parents flipped out and said she didn't have to. This was pre-2001, so people tolerated this to not cause a scene. So she laughed about it, turned the volume all the way up and would smile and wave at everyone who had complained. FINALLY, we made it to Seattle. The family had jumped up really quickly when we landed and managed to get off the flight pretty quickly. The lines at customs were a nightmare. My dad finally decided on a row. About 3 families behind our planes tormentor. Right as she starts to laugh again, I get tapped on the shoulder. I look around and a woman in uniform says "American citizens? " I answer yes. She says follow me, so we do. A new line had just been opened up and we were first in line. The other family races over to get in line,. As soon as they got out of line, it's announced that a new line is open. For American citizens only... I was only 16 at the time, so I give myself a little leeway at my own behavior. They try to go back where they had been, but everyone refused to let them jump into their old spot. My little tormentor looks at me and glares. So in true 16 year old fashion, I laughed at her and waved... Sweet, sweet justice... Even if it was childish. 😀

    Pretty good video. But I gotta testify: raising the window shade when the cabin lights are out is not a good idea.
    On a Northwest flight between Tokyo and Detroit, February 2005. My first holiday home from teaching in China. I had nestled in but had precious little sleep. 14 hour flight, tight seat, boring in flight movie, no screen map feature. How much longer, I wondered. I decided to raise the shade just a little to get a clue of the time…
    WHAM! The sun hit me like a searchlight. I was just like a vampire: “Blah! Kahnt stahnd ze light!” Quickly shut the shade.
    Nobody else even stirred, thankfully. Made it a point to keep the shades down after that, though.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  6 років тому +1

    Sadly the only time I've been on a plane where every single person was well behaved was after 9-11. As soon as Ronald Reagan opened again I took advantage of the cheap tickets to see my family who lived in d.c at that time.They also had a lot of rules and explained if anyone stood up for 30minutes before we landed they were to be given free handcuffs.

    I’m fortunate enough to have not had experiences like this. I don’t fly often for vacations. Even though we were in the air I could quite clearly hear it even over my music I could hear snapping. It drove me mad.

    I haven't flown much (maybe 4 times in my life) and the last time I flew was in 2008. I actually had a God experience on a flight to Nicaragua from Florida. There were 4 of us, one a minor (around 11, 12 years old) and I had traded seats with him so he could sit with his Mom (I was 27 at the time). It was my first flight sitting "by myself," meaning not near friends or family. I was a tiny bit nervous to see who would sit next to me. And wouldn't you know it, God sat a young girl (tweens/early teens) next to me who was really nervous. She was flying by herself to Nicaragua to see family. So I got a chance to talk to her and tell her about Jesus and pray with her. It was amazing! I told my friends about it after we landed and they were excited for my God moment! The only other flight I ever remember taking (my first 2 flight were when I was 6 months and 2 years old), we hit some major turbulence. I was terrified, thought we were going to die. I was 17/18 at the time I think? Anyway, my Mom laughed at me even while I had a death grip on her arm. I freaked out and she said "pray." I said "I am!" LOL! The flight attendant even gave me a sticker or a pin or something like I was a little kid. I can look back on it now and laugh but I was embarrassed at the time.

    Once the doors close that’s it. At that point the passenger manifest has been handed over to the Captain and they have contacted ground control for clearance to leave. An airline Captain is not going to ask air traffic for a revised departure window because Suzy Q was too busy getting a beer at the sky bar. Sometimes a plane will miss their departure time due to mechanical issues/security issues/ what have you. When that happens, they get put to the back of the line for departure which means anywhere from a half hour to multiple hour delays. Major airports have very tight windows. Time is money and your coach ticket does not even start to cover it. So people, NO, the airline will not bring back the plane for you. Be an adult and show up on time.
    Edit: There is one exception. If you happen to be transporting live human organs for transplant then they might make an exception, because then the entire flight gets priority departure. So, if you want to donate one of your kidneys when you arrive, maybe they will bring the plane back!

    Wow! I've been really lucky when I've flown. I haven't seen any of this kind of behavior when I've traveled. I really wonder what has happened to our society. It's amazing how people just do whatever they want no matter how it affects other people. We have such a Godless society now. I'm so sad when I'm in public and watch what people are doing.

    I recommend drinking heavily and passing out during long flights. You will get plenty of sleep and the crazies won't bother you.

      @SirWillow  3 роки тому

      No drinking here. Did more than my share when I was young and haven't touched the stuff in 30 years.
      Plus there are way to many that in their attempts to drink themselves to oblivion turn themselves into some of those horrible passengers and then aren't allowed on teh flights. There are better methods.

    Here are my tips for not being that person
    If you plan to sleep buy your own eye mask
    Try to use the toilet pria to embarking
    Ware comfortable footwear and keep it on for the whole flight
    No alcoholic beverages before takeoff
    Get to gate when it is announced
    Switch all devices to a flight safe mode in the airport
    Place all items you plan to use on the flight in a bag inside your carry on. When embarking remove bag and place carry on in the overhead compartment and bag under seat.
    Do not have handle extended inside the aircraft
    Remain in your seat with belt fastened when possible
    Act mature
    If you require assistance please contact a member of your flight crew
    Between the seatbelt sign switching off and the doors opening remove item from the overhead compartments and return to your row.
    File out of the aircraft from the front (and back if rear stairwell is provided) and wait till the row before clears before pushing forward

    Don't you wonder how some people were raised? What kind of parents did someone have that they think that if they yell and lie and rant and scream, the airline will turn the whole dang plane around (inconveniencing the passengers who boarded when they were supposed to) so they can board at their leisure?
    In the summer of 2001, my aunt took a trip to Australia with some friends. One of them had a husband who was going blind, and they thought this might be his last big trip. He was seated in the middle of the aisle with his wife on the end and a drunk guy at the window. This guy kept getting beers from different flight attendants and climbing over the couple to get to the bathroom. Finally he stepped on the poor husband's hand, and his wife told him in no uncertain terms that he had darn well better not do that again. She also told the head stewardess to cut him off (For those who don't understand, I mean she told all the attendants not to serve him any more beer). Some of their traveling buddies were sitting in the aisle across from them, so my aunt says if the guy had stepped on the husband again, or otherwise acted rudely, the wife and their friends would have played Ping-Pong with the drunk jerk.

    NEVER fly through Newark. NEVER EVER. ESPECIALLY with United. We went there. Had our flight delayed by 8 hours. Got in at (late) 5 pm (we missed out r connection and left at 2 am. That’s not the worst part. For the 8 hours we were waiting. There was no food available. If you know Newark, you know that all transactions are done over iPads. The entire system in our terminal crashed and we couldn’t buy anything.

      I used to work at my local airport and we had several flights each day to Newark. At least 75% of them were delayed because if there is even the slightest bit of rain, the airport will delay every flight.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  6 років тому +2

      That almost caught us as well. Right as we were supposed to board they announced that our flight was going to be delayed 4 hours due to a storm- which would have meant we missed our next flight. Turns out the storm was actually closer to DC/ Baltimore, but Newark was going to put flights on hold anyways. Thankfully that changed about 15 minutes later and we still arrived on time.

    I would like to point out that the desire to "shoot" for the exit after an extended flight is not only one of needing to make a connecting flight.
    Consider that perhaps there are many who are not like you, relatively comfortable with flying. Some, due to their experience or education get called away to various locations. Examples would be various archaeological digs or other "site specific" locale. The work calls the worker but some, no matter the industry, might have issues that are triggered when locked in a small location with many people.
    They have to take the flight, but they are claustrophobic, reclusive (you mentioned the large number of passengers on the flight), or they are germaphobes. By virtue of the fact that the plane is so much larger the numbers of these people travelling that are struggling with these issues will also increase.
    Perhaps a perspective not of your own will help you be more forgiving on these issues. I am not one who had difficulties in planes, but I had a close cousin, almost like a sibling, that did. Imagine believing for the entire flight that it would be your doom in any number of ways.....you obviously don't feel that way. So you would have to imagine it. But to some people your imagination is their perceived reality.
    I am sure at least a few of the ones you refer to suffer from these psychological impairments of fear and dread on certain things. Know they are riding that plane and are, however much others might see it as trivial, internally tortured.
    I am also a subscriber and get notifications....big fan!

      SirWillow El Al is the equivalent of a packed college bus party. Forget sleeping! They never did get everyone to sit down. We were blessed to have several groups of young adults ready to party on their Birthright Israel trips and a large number of Orthodox Jews. Orthodox Jews have very strict rules on how and when to pray. They were standing up and encouraged and showed the non observant men on the flight how to place tefilin. This went on for a very large portion of the flight to make sure the proper blessings were said every time we changed time zones. They refused to sit down even when it was time to land. The young adults had music blaring, open bar, and the party show they put on was like nothing I've seen before. This was obviously nothing new to the flights and the stewardess didn't even try to corral everyone! Had it happened here, they would have been arrested. Most adults around here will tell you to avoid ElAl at all expense, but the absurdity of it all really just added to the wonderment I felt when I realized, we weren't in Kansas anymore !

      You don't need to get offended on a stranger's behalf. She doesn't deserve it. If she has an issue with it, she can complain on her own.
