Loui did a better job being the government for 2 minutes than the actual government has for 300 years
i mean considering how many nationalities live in la and we dont explode, i mean we got cajons, native americans, arcadians, voodoo ladys, god knows how many flavors of Spanish (makes for some good cookin) and probly swamp thing >.>.... hear he was sharing a condo with solamengrandi

@@IPutThisUsernameHere do you not cook gumbo?
Huh. Maybe we should have a President that comes from Louisiana, I don’t think we’ve had one yet.
I expected the government to just leave again, but asking Siri the date of the mid term elections to make an opinion is definitely more realistic 😭 (God help us)
Yep that is on point
For Ben's political leaning, I want to thank him for not leaving that part out about mid-term elections & the comment that there should be a better way than what we're offered by either parties.
ITS REALISTIC AND ALSO TRIGGERED MY SIRI

I cannot believe you got Dan Povenmire to play the supreme court im so happy
It would have been funnier if he was also Dufenschmertz.
It's not the first time. But everytime always is a treat
So THAT'S why he looked familiar!
He's actually a regular here (but anytime the Supreme Court is needed in the script)
@@regular67 I didn’t k ow he was a former pornstar
Please note: the Kansas thing started because a guy bought a 3 bedroom house and turned it into a 7 bedroom house. He wanted to rent out each room. So if each tenant had a SO, there could potentially be 14 people living and what was supposed to be a three-bedroom house. The neighbors objected and went to the city council. The city council passed the no co-living ordinance.
So it's not the ENTIRE state that has banned co living. Just one town.
Just to be clear, everything I've heard about this has been in this clip and this comment. But what it sounds like is well intended legislation gone terribly wrong. Almost like the people representing us have no clue who they're representing or how to do it.
Did the guy in question at least think to add more bathrooms first? Because if it’s 14 people to 1 or 2 bathrooms that’s just inhumane and taking advantage of people. I already can’t imagine the nightmare that would be the kitchen and fridge split between 14 residents, most of which are complete strangers to each other…it’s one thing if it’s a large family feeding their 12 or 13 kids, but it’s another thing when 14 strangers are made to live together in cramped conditions potentially because they don’t have anywhere else to go.
@@riverstein7251 the 14 is only if each person has a SO living with them. I honestly do not know. I can't remember if I ever saw it in any of the news stories. But still with 7 or more people you would have to think that he added bathrooms....
@@riverstein7251 probably didn't. This is slumlord tactics, just shove as many poor people into a building as possible and collect the money. And when there are issues with the house, maybe think about the cheapest stopgap repair. Wouldn't want to spend too much money now, would we?
The city council phrased it really poorly framing it as shaming renters for not owning the house and thus not caring about the state of it
"You're weak. Agree with no one"
As if i couldn't love New York more
Speaking as a woman who can't survive pregnancy OR produce live offspring (and therefore must respond to any pregnancy by either getting an abortion or planning my own funeral) ... I'm pretty okay with fire as a solution here, even if I do live in California. I'm tired of being patted on the head and told everything will be fine.
Burn it all.
People who are deathly allergic to shellfish and peanuts go to great means avoid these things.
@@dalemarlar6141 some people cant control if they get pregnant
Only the raped or molested minors can't control the potential of pregnancy. That control was taken from them by the heinous act. Those numbers out of half of our population (female) are statistically insignificant in the case of the discussion. I have seen many many many on the pro life side that support protection on the matter regarding abortion in these cases. It's only the hyperbole of the extreme left and right that omits this in the discussion. Or uses it as a bludgeon for their activist agendas.
The reality is those cases (rape/incest etc) won't be improperly handled.
Just think of the numbers. Those females raped each year are very few per capita, and those becoming pregnant from the rape, even more rare. But they are used as if every abortion preformed is due to these circumstances. They are statistically insignificant. But ARE a concern to both sides of the argument.
As for 99% of the other pregnancies, which are through consensual activities, choices comes with responsibility. Choose wisely.
@@dalemarlar6141 You're correct about one thing--people with those allergies DO take measures to protect themselves. They also carry epi-pens, when possible, in case those measures fail. And no one's trying to ban epi-pens.
I'm on the asexual spectrum. I do not voluntarily engage in pregnancy-inducing activities, mostly because I don't want to. There is no better way of preventing pregnancy other than surgical sterilization, which I can't access due to the American healthcare system being what it is.
However, as a woman in the United States, I don't always get to decide whether sex happens to me. I have lost count of the number of times I've helped female friends get to hospitals, police stations, or counseling appointments after an assault. I've never personally been a victim, but I have eyes and a brain and so I know that's luck, not my own cleverness or virtue. I just haven't been in the wrong place at the wrong time--YET. And until menopause hits, involuntary pregnancy remains a possibility.
I don't think I should have to die for someone else's crime. And there are tens of thousands of women and girls like me in this country who can't survive pregnancy. If you're suggesting they all deserve to die if they're assaulted, or if they engage in consensual adult activities, I invite you to say that to their faces and see how far it gets you. Feel free to begin by saying it to your mother.
@on bear feet
1. Incorrect, there are "EpiPens" in this discussion. They are known as the morning after pill. And like epipens, are not always successful. Even so, one may not have even become pregnant from the sexual act and it basically just induces a menstrual cycle. A premeditated miscarriage, if you will. Also, by and large, the "religious right" or conservatives are not going to eliminate that treatment. But remember, life is not and never will be fair.
2. Abstaining from vaginal intercourse, is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy.
3. I am truly sympathetic that you apparently live in a horrifying place where you personally can't count the amount of times that you have consoled a sexual assault victim. In all seriousness, you should find a safer place to live. I am 59 and have only met one person that has been raped/molested. Am I naive enough to think that all sexual assaults are reported? No. Again I am a serious person. Let's stay focused on the facts, not sensationalism.
4. But you do think that another innocent human life may be murdered because of an unwanted pregnancy.
And that is the actual point of the abortion debate. I have discussed these issues with many women in my life. And I've not once been assaulted by a woman for my perspective. While they may not all agree with me, but they knew I respected them and they respected me. They understood that I am a serious person, not controlled by hyperbole or an obstinate nature.
Life should never be sacrificed for simple expediency. Your "opinion" on when life begins may very well differ from my "opinion" on the matter.
I looked at the stats and there is a huge spike in “Maryland’s congressional districts” after this video is posted.

This episode features an excellent reference to the concept of ETHOS! Ethos is the rhetorical appeal to credibility/expertise/good character. Loui’s suit (and what a suit it is!!) lends him ethos, so the other states listen to him and allow him to run the meeting!
Thanks for this, Ben! I’m putting it in my Rhetorical Appeals lesson!
Ooh, i had to go over that sort of thing in my communications course (which I'm _really_ hoping I passed, I do not want to have to take this again 🤞😥🤞).
Edit: I passed (with an A+ of all things)!!! Hand-to-somebody I was expecting a C, B at most. I passed in a speech a full week late what the hell?!

That's fantastic! I'm sure there's things to be fixed, improved, or ironed out - but when and where are they not?
@@rileylittleraven oh yeah the college tuition thing has been interesting. Seems like we're just learning as we go, but the best way to smooth it out is to do it right?
I always love these. And I will always love how when New York swears it’s “speaks in New York” rather than just bleeping it
I did not expect Dan Povenmire acting as the Supreme Court!!! Excellent choice of actors Ben!
It was Garth Brooks playing "Callin' Baton Rouge" at the concert at LSU Death Valley (the football stadium) that registered as an earthquake due to crowd noise during the song.
Yeah, but calling Garth George will just delight Garth.
The Supreme Court as a incompetent cartoon villain is pretty spot on.
He should have "the voice". lol
To be fair to the Supreme Court this isn’t really what they are supposed to doing it the job of congress but because congress sant ever agree they tried to make the Supreme Court deal with it
@@ezane7828 not exactly. Republicans have been trying to force legislation for decades, and since they can't win with laws, they've packed the supreme court with a bunch of assholes who will overturn precedent (which is actually protecting American citizens right to decide what happens to ourselves medically), just to undo a fundamental right (bodily autonomy).
If Roe is overturned this way, it's the court basically saying that people, citizens, do NOT have the fundamental right to decide what happens to us medically.
Loui running a meeting is a great thing
Wasn’t expecting Dan povenmire when I saw him I was half expecting the Supreme Court to “try to take over the dicontenental area!”
jesus christ i actually laughed crazy loud when Gov asked siri when midterms were
fucking FANTASTIC work, never stop please
Dan Povenmire is probably the best Supreme Court
Loui’s suit is so snazzy lookin! I love him-
That's a fantastic suit!.... Nice to see a change... And the character is the one that feels the most real to me.
I really appreciate that Dan Povenmire showed up for this.
If he does it again, I really hope he does a Doof impression
Thank god, political commentary from someone whos funny
As a Louisianan, it was a Garth Brooks concert, not George Straight, and it was during "Calling Baton Rouge." Also, that's not a Philippines flag on Loui's hat, that's the flag of Acadiana.
Louisiana in charge I love that so much also I would love to see more countries at the table especially Britain France and Mexico
Lol I want to see the chaos Florida causes with Mexico and New Mexico
@@JoKir2013 ya the confusion will be hilarious

A new vid, yay!
As a fellow Florida Man the interaction between Florida and New York is absolutely perfect!
Oh Loui... it was Garth Brooks not George Strait 😂
DAN POVENMYER!!!! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! THANK YOU BEN!
LOVING Louis’ suit and energy in this
As a Kansan, I agree that finding affordable housing is really hard right now. My family is renting out an expensive house because there is no where else we can live.
Kansas and New Mexico with their creative solutions 👏🏼
Now I want to know more
The fact that louie runned the meeting better than the government is great
Wait a minute... isn't that Doofenshmirtz?!
SCOTUS leak: we may overturn Roe v Wade
Me: hmm, midterm elections in 6 months. This is going to backfire on someone.
Technically the vote would have been back in January. What they are doing now is the legal equivalent of doing your Master's thesis. They sat and argued for about 2 months and most legal scholars expected Roe to either be overturned or basically rendered toothless due to the precedents we had in 20 and 21.
They voted repeatedly that the federal government did not have the authority to tell States what to do on health matters. So when they were faced once again with the federal government arguing that a state did not have authority over health matters it was pretty much forgone conclusion that it would be overturned. It's the reason that Donald could never do a national mask mandate. He tried and the court told him no.
So when the Louisiana case came up, it was basically pre-recorded. Yes if we had had another one or two Democrats on the court they probably would have had to come up with a middle ground like they did for Casey, but the federal government argued that they were not willing to accept a middle ground this time. They actually even quoted it in the draft. The attorney for the federal government said that either the law or Roe could exist but not both. .
@@leechowning2712 interesting that that’s not what the opinion says though. It’s more like “stare decisis is a thing and we use it, however I don’t think prior justices did it right in this instance. Also check out what this guy from the 1700s had to say about women. Additionally because the constitution doesn’t say women can get abortions I guess they can’t do it. And let me reference myself a few times. Again - stare decisis is a thing but I really don’t feel like it was cool to use it as was used in this case previously. And even though 14A was argued the last time re: freedom I just don’t like it”
I only got through like 9 pages though because his writing was so terrible so maybe he did eventually make it around to your point.
When Doctor Doofenshmirtz runs the Supreme court
Looking sharp Louie
This is the only way that I learn about what’s happening in the US since I do homeschool so thank you
I said it on the short, but I'll say it again here: For once, I think I'm actually with Florida on the "fire" thing.
a Dan Povenmire cameo as SCOTUS was honestly everything I didn't know I needed this week
Me, a Marylander: *shrieks immediately at the joke*
Can we just put Dan Povenmire in the real supreme court?
While that would probably be great for us, is that really fair to Dan, though?
@@amandadadesky5192 yeah, he seems like the perfect candidate. Someone who doesn't want the job.
@@musewolfman True, but I wouldn't wish a political job on my worst enemy, let alone one of my favorite creatives.
And don't get me wrong, if Dan Povenmire decided to run for office, I'd be right there supporting him in a heartbeat. But that kind of job ages you prematurely, and I want Dan to be around for many more years to come.
“You’re weak. Agree with no one.” That one made me BARK out laughing 😂
Yeah this is a sad time! We are definitely going back in time 😢
I love him making a guest appearance!!!
I am living for Loui's suit! ❤️
Finally.. a good video to start my morning.
First >:O
I don’t want to “vote blue, no matter who.” But, the Republican party isn’t giving us women any other choice. I believe in doing my homework and voting for the best person for the job, regardless of party affiliation. Those days are now dead. It’s the end of an era, and I’m really sad. My heart goes out to every woman who has an ectopic pregnancy in a red state. That pregnancy will lead to not only the death of the fetus, but the woman losing part (or even all) of her reproductive organs, and possibly her life. Everyday red states become more like the Taliban with their treatment of women. Keep doing the Lord’s work, Ben Brainard. You’re a good guy.
I understand that feeling. I really want to go back to the days when you could vote for someone you wanted instead of voting for the lesser of two evils.
@@Ben_Brainard I’d vote for you in a heartbeat!!! Now that you live in Southern California, I want to send you an idea for a skit. How do I do that?
@@Ben_Brainard ben for pres 2032
i mean we had a national tv star as a president why not a comedian eh?
@@dandymom1709 Thank you! Voting for the “right man” for the job (and not for the party like in the UK) always made America’s system feel special to me. Now, it truly is voting for the lesser of two evils. It just makes me so sad.
Don't forget women who have miscarriages and are then accused of having an abortion
Louie was surprisingly competent leading the Table
DAN POVENMIRE! YAY!
It’s a good day when Dan Povenmire shows up in Ben Brainard’s videos.

Yay! Dan Povenmire! He's my favorite since my son's marching band named him Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
Wasn't expecting Dan, as soon as I heard his voice I was like "OH MY GOD, IT'S DAN"
Something that would be cool as a Table News skit would include Texas being super pissed at Connecticut because Connecticut passed a law that allows people who had an abortion to come to Connecticut. They won't extradite them to a state that is trying to charge them for having an abortion (i.e. Texas). And it will allow them to sue the "bounty hunters" enabled by the new Texas law.
It would be hilarious to watch the states, particularly Texas and Connecticut react to that. And it would also be nice to spread awareness to people who might need it.
Honestly, this is brilliant! lol
This collab got me as excited as when I saw a crossover episode as child.
