Yeah, it did. The start felt like a year of chances, for climate justice, a new President in the US, a way to peace in Isreal and Ukraine, a new feeling of unison in the EU, but most of them were deeply disappointed. In the end, so to say in retrospective view, many chances were missed, many problems left unsolved, many different ways to solutions blocked. But there are many new chances, like the new situation in Syria, many problems solved, that we didn't think about, and many more days, months and years to come. Let's all be hopeful and do our best to let 2025 start like 2024, but end a little bit better. Every Person counts!

3:06 😢 I feel like the media just doesn’t report school shootings as much anymore. Like just a collective numbness to it. It’s awful and shouldn’t keep happening. Something needs to change.
Unfortunate how US centric this is considering the showed the world map at the start of the video. The title is also 2024 in 4 minutes as if only US had major happenings in 2024. West-centric media never fails to disappoint.
Steps on how to make a true recap of the year 2024: 1. The videos length easily should be anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour long. 2. The video should include things from both left and right political parties, giving them the same amount of time in the video. 3. The video should include some spaceflight advancements, such as SpaceX's Starship completing a successful test-flight with the booster catch. 4. Focus more on the different kinds of wars throughout the world, not just specific ones. Things like Gaza and Ukraine as well as any others that happened or are still happening. 5. DO NOT MAKE THE YEAR RECAP WHEN IT'S STILL 5 DAYS FROM THE START OF THE NEW YEAR! You will have missed out on several important things, such as Jimmy Carter's death and other things. 6. Don't forget to include Trump's assassination attempt as that had a profound impact on U.S. politics. 7. Talk about the effects of Trump's election victory. The election outcome of the United States usually effects the rest of the world in many various ways. 8. Don't over-represent the LGBTQ or any woke media. In-fact, don't include any woke media at all unless if it is something that is worth mentioning (i.e. things that help shape the world into what it is.) 9. Mention more things about the school shootings. 10. Actually mention the whole mocking thing in relation to Christianity that occurred at the Olympics. 11. Put everything in chronological order so people could make sense of it, maybe even put a date somewhere on the screen that tells the viewers when something happened. 12. Don't you EVER use TikTok videos EVER again. This should only focus on things that help change the world and our future, not what some kid is saying on TikTok. 13. Most importantly: Don't center the whole video on the United States. Instead, center it on the entire world. It should be about the ENTIRE world, that includes 100+ countries, not just the good ol' USA. 14. And finally.. to top it all off... for a badass ending to the 2024 Year Recap, put the New York Ball Drop for 2025 in the video at the very end, which would top it all off and set the stage for the new year. If I have missed anything, don't hesitate to let me know in the replies and I will add it to the list!

This is so underwhelming, too focused on Western pop cultures, ignoring virtually everything else and everything from the poor editing, time choreography feels rushed giving us zero space to contemplate or have any emotions, completely emotionless with zero empathy condensation at all. 2024 has had so much stuff from worldwide internet culture to world-changing politic, humanitarian, historic events and crisises, too little impactful world event coverage, even then it's only given 3 seconds max.
WHERE IS THE OLD "Year in Review" CHARM???? Vox has really declined.
too focused on Western?? Have you even watched the video??
can't believe there is so little screen time to show the israeli-palestinian conflict... this is out of touch for the people working at vox
right? its like one of the biggest crises that went on this yr and that was reduced to like 3 seconds
It started in 2023, yes there were major things of the war this year but nothing new
Exactly! I was wondering why they're so blatant on suppressing this
exactly! tik tok trends and moo deng had more screen time like wtaf
Exactly, they should show what the terrorists in Hamas are like 🤣🤣
*Happy New Year🎉🥳🎊* *I'm favoured only God knows how much I praise Him,* $230k every 4weeks! | now have a big mansion and can now afford anything and also support God's work and the church.
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
Wow that's huge, how do you make that much monthly?.. I have been looking for ways to be successful, please how??
It's Ms. Evelyn Vera doing, she's changed my life.
I started pretty low, though, $5000 thereabouts. The return came massive. Joey is in school doing well, telling me of new friends he's meeting in school. Thank you Evelyn Vera, you're a miracle.
Wow...I know her too she is a licensed broker and a FINRA agent she is popular in
US and Canada she is really amazing woman with good skills and experience.

Pope did not visited Myanmar in 2024.
It was in 2017 when the countrt still has Democracy.
No under the military coup, he did not visit there
I think they got confused with his visit to Indonesia
As a Burmese, I was like "What"? Was the pope so stealthy that he came and then went to Vatican City without us seeing?

We Indians are 1.4 billion people, a could barely see anything about us, unless this is 2024, in 4 minutes, in USA! I have been a fan of this series, this one was disappointing.
the decision not to show things chronologically is unhinged
I’m more surprised this is 4 minutes than whatever happened this year.
Fax a lot of stuff happened this year
The word “Palestine” not even mentioned once is shameful, especially from you Vox.
The war started over a year ago lol
Can't blame, people will forget the Israeli-hamas war the same way to Russia Ukrainian war.
@@luisfilipe2023That doesn’t mean it’s over? There’s still conflict, still people dying, it still deserves attention.
@@helios_is_happy só? There are wars all over the world why should anyone care about this specific one? What’s so special about it
They shoulda mentioned Israel too
It's hard not to feel abandoned as a Ukrainian when another year of extreme suffering amounts to barely a second of screentime. Guess at this point we should be grateful we've been mentioned at all
ummm did you forget the billions we give your country ?
would you fight for ukraine?
Whattt???What about 100s of billions of dollars in support the world is sending you? Ungrateful
Yep. Y'all really should be more grateful. At least you're getting sent billions of dollars by the US.
Jesus christ y'all, op is talking about this recap, not about the funds the ukranian government gets. And they're right, considering how big of a war it is, it has no right to be this underrepresented
Looks like something an 8th grader threw together last minute for a video project on 2024
Shame on you vox not a single word on Genocide...not a single word for war criminal arrest and not a single word for 20,000 + dead children. Utterly disgraceful

3:06 😢 I feel like the media just doesn’t report school shootings as much anymore. Like just a collective numbness to it. It’s awful and shouldn’t keep happening. Something needs to change.
true, there should be guards in school, since we have our politicians protected by armed security, but not our literal future.
JD Vance IS right. It is a fact of life in our country and its not good 😢
Oh yeah! Jimmy Carter just died too.
Unfortunate how US centric this is considering the showed the world map at the start of the video. The title is also 2024 in 4 minutes as if only US had major happenings in 2024. West-centric media never fails to disappoint.
This definitely felt rushed, I just hope next years; if we make it, is better.
Seriously these are declining in quality
@@fessekandrade9321 Agreed, I don’t really comment on videos but usually Vox recap vids make me feel emotional. This one just made me feel… nothing
Steps on how to make a true recap of the year 2024:
In-fact, don't include any woke media at all unless if it is something that is worth mentioning (i.e. things that help shape the world into what it is.)
Students in Bangladesh toppled a dictator and you did not even care to cover it? Trump won the presidency, not covered well. You should've done a better job.
"Students in Bangladesh toppled a dictator" - why is it important to the US, if at all?
@@ВладимирКруглов-к9о The video was not about the US only.
@@asifishtiaque4840 This is the US channel and you know how North Americans are. They wouldn't even be able to pronounce the name of that country, much less be interested in what's going on there. Be realistic.

2:12 hit hard for me. I live in The Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina and went through Hurricane Helene. I was lucky for my house to only have minor damage (a few leaks). I volunteered for several days afterwards and it just hurt to see so many families needing help. In one particular moment, this woman broke down crying and hugged all of the volunteers. It's tough stuff, but it felt really good to be helping out those who are in desperate need and are your own neighbors.
Didn't see President Trump getting shot.
