    I love this video - as a beginner it was so helpful and Melanie explained and showed how to do it beautifully. Don't agree with comment that the piece looks dirty -- I thought it was great. I'm going to do a coffee quite similar to the one she worked on.

    My heart sank the second you started painting the top. I like the white legs but would've left the top. IMHO
    Enjoying your channel. Thanks!

    LOVE this, Melanie! Great job. I might try the same combo with the driftwood SFO for a gray wood look. The legs on that table are just gorgeous. I never see anything as nice in my Re-Store, but maybe I have to visit more often. Thanks for the video :-)

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  3 роки тому +1

      The Re-store is hit and miss for me! But you just never know I guess! And yes, you could totally do the same look with Driftwood over a less yellow white, like maybe Lamp White or the new Victorian Lace? Would be gorgeous!

    well done, nice job and a wonderful table find. this is not a new concept as almost all furniture was finished this way in the 70s and 80s

    I just used the fusion mineral paint and I love it, but I ordered one from Amazon and it was $50. Is there some place I can get it that isn't sooo expensive?

      It's an applicator pad that Fusion Mineral Paint sells, you can grab one at this link or perhaps find something similar at your hardware store :) bit.ly/3KihIeO

    Hey Melanie! Great video, very helpful. I haven't gotten into staining yet, so I had a quick question. Instead of dealing with hassle of mineral spirits, do you just throw out the small brushes when you are done?

      @@LostFoundDecor yes truly enjoyed her....loved how she went behind the curtains and then when she spotted the camera I was waiting for her to jump up and attack it.....love the finish on your table, I am professional painter and I really appreciate your wiping strokes to wipe off the excess in one stroke on the top of the table, too many people get this wrong a do short curved strokes which is not how the grain of wood looks in real life....a quick tip to help you improve on your already stellar skills is to be mindful of going around the edging don't make that your last stroke, always wipe off in one continuous motion spanning the diameter, it is easy to put the dark crease marks into the rim or edge using a tiny artist brush and this is how you avoid making curved interrupted lines along or around the edge of furniture pieces....xxxx

    I am thinking of painting 2 square end tables to go in my LR. My furniture is putty colored leather. Would 2 tables be too much accent color? Should I go with a blue or bayberry green? My room is open to either color. Thanks for your help.

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  2 роки тому

      I think 2 painted end tables would be great. Is the rest of your room warm or cool toned? The Bayberry is pretty warm, whereas there are lots of cool blues

    If I did this process with my kitchen table do I have to finish it with anything?? Like a wax?

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  2 роки тому

      Not if you use this specific product, Fusion and the Stain & Finishing Oil :) Fusion is acrylic and doesn’t need a topcoat to be sealed. The Stain & Finishing Oil used as the glaze does add a layer of an oil-based topcoat that’s water resistant and holds us great to regular use.

    Bad habit of dipping your paint brush into paint can or jar. You ARE contaminating your paint. Pour paint into different container.

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Рік тому

      Thanks for your feedback :) You’re correct, that is the more “professional” way. I’ve never had any issues painting from the jar and like to keep things simple 😊 But if that really concerns someone, they can certainly take your advice.
