Maybe the storyline where Spider-Man gets organic webs is weird, but it was one of the first Spider-Man comics I actually read as a kid so it holds a special place in my heart.
You’re wrong on Norman Osborn being behind the robot parents, it was actually his recently deceased son Harry Osborn who enacted it. He had set the plan in motion before dying from an experimental Goblin formula.
Norman Osborn being responsible for a ton of different Spider-Man plots in the end is the opposite of Dr Doom being the villain of everyone BUT the Fantastic 4
You can thank Joe Quesada for the whole "Brand New Day" storyline. It was his idea. He wanted to reboot the series, and felt he needed to target a younger audience and start from scratch, and disregard the older fans. You know, like Star Wars did? And we all know how well That turned out.....
In my opinion I love the idea of the Spider-Mobile even when it was just a dune buggy but thanks to Dan Slott’s run on Amazing Spider-Man during the Parker Industries era that brought back the Spider-Mobile but with it being more of a Batmobile like vehicle but more Spidery
@@michealbanksjr.3630 I mean, don't a few of the spidermen/spiderwomen have it? Like, I think Miles Morales has an organic web thing along with web shooters?

Personally, I love they brought back Norman Osborn. The one-off The Osborn Journals (which explain Norman’s post-impalement shenanigans) and 101 Ways to End the Clone Saga are all great off-shoots. If they ever decide to do more Mystery Science Theater 3000 comics, I’d love for them to riff on the entire Clone Saga.
I'm of two minds about that. On one hand, yea it brings him closer to actually being a spider-themed character; on the other hand, him using web shooters showed how smart he was even as a teenager.

Same here. Amazing Spider-Man was the firse comic I ever read, along with PPtSSM, Spider-Man was my favorite character for decades. One More Day was the end for me. I quit buying comics then. I now pick up trades of some stories, but not Spider-Man.
Spider-Man's robot parents was Harry Osborn's idea. He came up with the plot to "mess with Spider-Man" before the events of Spectacular Spider-Man #199-200.
Honestly, #1 is pretty much what got me to stop reading Spider-man comics forever. Him selling his marriage to Mephisto was so stupid. So out of character. So ridiculous. After that I was just done with the comics and I haven't read a single Spidey comic since.
And the same for lots of us. Unless they can retcon it (not just reverse it but totally write it out of everything) it's forever going to stain the character.
One More Day DID ruin Spider-man permanently for me, it was such a violation of the character that every bad story prior to that couldn't come close to comparing with it combined.
The clone saga covers waaaaaaaay more issues than what they listed. It ran for years across every title. Pretending it was covered in 23 issues of one book is even worse than claiming Norman was behind Peter's fake parents storyline.
That's how it works, right? You pump DNA into someone and they turn into the thing coded for. It doesn't just start making weird proteins that affect your ability to think and act causing madness and eventual organ shutdown; that would be terrible.
