I was on the lookout during this video for hireboat 'Tawny Eagle' from Blackwater Meadow marina in Ellesmere. One of theirs passed you, though not Tawny Eagle. (We hired her a month or so before your video was shot last summer). Your music selection was perfect for this video, Phil. (I purchased from Bandcamp and enjoy it some evenings at bedtime. It is very relaxing. I used to fall asleep listening but the more I listened to it, the more I actually enjoyed LISTENING to it instead and found I was still awake 12 tracks later! Looking forward to your videos over the 2 aqueducts, assuming you went that far. Also interested in how you got on down the Montgomery. We didn't get past the top Aston lock near Queen's Head.
Thank you Gary. If if spot Tawny Eagle when I edit future videos I won't edit it out. Glad you like my music, hopefully I'll record some more this year...
@@NarrowboatJourneys. Phil, I'm sure there are plenty of other viewers out there who would also enjoy a glimpse of how you make your music. I know how hard it is to create/compose a song anybody would want to listen to. A friend who is a superb guitarist tried, but nothing he wrote himself had any appeal. Lyrics were OK but the music itself was worse than 'lift music'.
Hi Phil, your fan from Canada here ☺. I think it would be lovely if you could show us the walk around Colmere or some similar pleasant off-canal diversions you encounter on your canal journeys. I love coming along on your travels and your calm and friendly demeanor makes me feel very welcome as a virtual guest on your boat.
Lovely canal in lovely weather....just the right thing to watch whilst waiting for Stirm Dennis to hit us this weekend. I’m so pleased to hear that your boat passed inspection. That must be a weight off, Phil. Take care and keep warm and safe. Xx
I saw far worse examples of speeding that summer. Midge was out first. Bushka was having a drink of water. It's all back to normal now and Bushka is always out first again.
Love the guitar...and this is a very pleasant cruise..! I am slowly making my way through your earlier vlogs..and enjoying them so very much..😊. Thank you....One day perhaps I will tell you of my UFO Sitting? If you like...perhaps in chat?..😊
Musical extravaganza , the new composition fitted in a treat , ... To all the ladies what are you waiting for , so it's not the QE2 but it's a home when there are two ship mate's aboard , Phil is a little shy , but don't let that stop you , good luck , ... Catch you later Phil , Trevallion .
Hi I was born in Colemere and now live in Ellesmere the camping caravan park is at Lyneal and is the base for the Lyneal trust who take disabled people on canal trips the Thatched house is at little mill about a mile by road to The Village of Colemere Cole-mere is one of nine small lakes or as we say in Shropshire Meres including Hanmer mere which is just over the border in Wrexham County, North Wales. Ellesmere is the largest and the Market Town of Ellesmere is on the south west of the mere with its Tuesday Market Bus links to Oswestry and Shrewsbury and for the boaties as we call them in Ellesmere a large laundrette open from 7.00am till 9.pm many family owned shops opening mostly from 9 am till 5 pm also a large Tescos and a Coop which are open much later in the evening as well as seven pubs two Chinese takeaways a Fish and Chip shop a kebab shop and a Indian and Greek restaurant, ice cream parlour a number of cafés and a very nice deli Ellesmere sits in a little bulge in the Welsh border and is bordered by Wales on three sides and has almost as many Welsh as English living here in fact many families have brothers and sisters born in England or Wales depending on which way the ambulance went.
Yes Phil, a very challenging canal. We are hoping to go down before Hurleston opens, hopefully it will be quieter. Anyway, thanks for relaxing me with your video :)
Lovely stretches of canal there Phil. I'm on Northwich at the moment going to Anderson open day tomorrow to do some filming Thanks and take care. Alan.
Excellent vlog, thanks Phil. This is the exact area we’re planning to visit with a hire boat later this year ( Coronavirus willing). Travelling from New Zealand via Hong Kong so keeping our fingers crossed. Planning to do it in September so hopefully not quite as busy as early August. How did the boat safety certificate go by the way?
Hi again. I just watched the lift-bridge incident. Your CRT license includes maintenance of the cut and the tow path? Right? I'm sure that the local residents have some taxes that they pay as well to use the tow path. Right? So, can the residents be so uninformed that the boaters have rights? I find it irritating that people who fish along the canal get angry when a boat passes. Perhaps the CRT should make sure the local councils keep the residents informed of the boaters rights. Bikers, walkers all use the tow paths and some are not paying any taxes toward the tow path. Just makes me angry how stupid and inconsiderate people are.

I'm no expert but I think that you are a very talented musician 💛💛💛
Thank you Rosa :-)
I wish to experience this one day.
Your vlogs are beautiful.

Thank you Norm, perhaps this year I'll have the chance to do a wider variety of videos...
Excellent. Looking forward to our Llangollen in September!
You will enjoy it. Let's hope the weather is good for you.

Beautiful Canal, very nice to travel with you on it.
That red boat was going really fast, I wondered if someone was waterskiing! Surprised to see grey kitty out first. 😊
I saw far worse examples of speeding that summer. Midge was out first. Bushka was having a drink of water. It's all back to normal now and Bushka is always out first again.
Bushka happily drinking his water, unaware that his 'public' were wondering where he was! 😊❤️
A lovely reminder of summer - it seems such a long time ago. Lovely work on that guitar, sir

Thank you. Have you found my ufo sighting video yet? ua-cam.com/video/ewR3VV28bKI/v-deo.html
@@NarrowboatJourneys yes I searched for that early on..seeing your ships in the vlogs ? I figured you must have a story somewhere..😊
Your boat videos are great, but DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE your guitar skills, awesome music.
Thank you Mike.
Some lovely stretches of canal there Phil. I'm in Northwich

Thank you. The one thing I lack is local knowledge of this area.
Hi Phil. You always have the most beautifully filmed vlogs. And, of course, your music fits it perfectly.
Thank you Jane. :-)
I had to do a little research on Whixall Moss, fascinating history. 🍀
That was absolutely wonderful. Your music fits in perfectly. I loved every second. Thank you
Your new guitar music goes nicely with this trip. Enjoying the beautiful Summer greenery. Quite a coup for Midge...with Bushka not even in sight!
Enjoyed the trip. I recognized the the music you wrote. It fit in perfectly. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful as always, thank you Phil.
Lovely vlog, especially the beautiful music thank you 😊

It was nice to see summer again!
There's a for sale sign at Bettisfield pub....I'm guessing it's no longer open :(
I didn't stop to investigate.
How did it go with you through Storm Dennis? Bad storm I hear
It was ok where I am moored. No flooding here.
Lovely stretches of canal there Phil. I'm on Northwich at the moment going to Anderson open day tomorrow to do some filming
Thanks and take care. Alan.
Hold on to your hat then. It's going to be a bit breezy!
Nice one dude ✌️
lovely journey, i feel really relaxed now
Great video as always
Thank you phill
The guitar playing is really nice, how did the boat check go?
Thank you. My boat passed. :-)
That’s good phil I bet 5hats a weight off your mind, maybe you can start enjoying life again.

Everyone except boaters gets to use the canals for free, though fishermen do also pay a small amount to fish.
