angle is actually the range in front of the ship where the gun will fire, making the 50 gegrees on the hindenburg gun a sizable upgrade from the 36 of the drake gun

i got agir and there was no point using another CA in the same fleet
We got all PR2 gear added in Gear Lab in December 2022, including the rainbow 457mm. I expect they'll add the PR3 gear this year, that means craftable Drake gun. Less reasons to spend time going for the Hindy gun
I don't get why you say don't spend 6months trying to get the rainbow gun, when we're already going to be spending 6months to get prints for all the new PR ships
Many of us veterans spam cube research so we rarely get any gear parts

If i was able to this type of progress in just 6 months (given my account was high level and i had many level 120 ships but they were made that level in the past where there were no DR and only had monarch unlocked of all PR ships) veterans should exclusively aim for Weapon Parts and not Blueprint research.
Also the way I have used my catch up i pretty much emptied the whole proto store of UR weapons.
I see no value using cubes for research even if i generally have 600+ cubes

it's so sad that after so many years, the best HE BB gun is still that purple mk 6 406 bb gun.... we finally get the gold upgrade and it pretty much unusable for most ship...
Both the Monarch gun at +13 and the NJ gun are better than that one though?

For what content tho? Isn't it better to run either only AP or HE?

The triple 406 mk6 is a huge letdown. They should have just made the purple mk6 but slightly better in damage and reload.
The gold MK6 is the HE counterpart of the 46cm Yamato guns, I bet it definitely would find its use with specific type of bosses in the future.
It's a disappointing update, gun-wise. The only relevant upgrade we got got is the new superior mk6 (finally, after all these years) but even that one is kinda dubious at most, because meta content relies heavily on more specialized guns and for standard farming, previous elite variant was always enough. Shimanto gun is interesting but not really that good for common content, the german tbtsk gun is whatever, 50mm is a really decent accelerator within a game which already has plenty of better and easier obtainable options, Flandre gun literally makes no sense at first glance and Hindenburg's gun is yet another ultra rare heavy cruiser gun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Devs are really playing it safe.
Should have gotten a UR rocket Bearcat to go with Kearsarge, her 406mm is also super dissapointing, and not even an upgrade from the purple, seems like.
It's a minor upgrade - as intended - but judging from how PR roll, it will be a while before any of us completely replaces our old mk6s. Sort of pointless, because there are better guns if you need HE on shipfus that would want these US guns, rest typically uses more specialized stuff - either for speed (barrages) or staggering salvos. The purple mk6 became sort of a meme in the community for how resilient it was to "modernizations" and even now, it will remain a very good transitory gun until one's capable to replace them.
@@HiddenRefuge The purple Mk6 isn't a meme, it's meta. With Helena being an almost must use, a gun that times with her skill is amazing. HE BB guns aren't nearly as important as AP, so its not needed very often, and best used as a filler if you don't have better guns, it's still very useful for light armor on the rare occasion we have that.
The gold Mk6 has a longer reload, so it doesn't time well with Helena's skill, unless BB reload from tech can make up that differance. It doesn't matter quite as much now as Helena isn't nearly as important, but I know I still use her, so the new Mk6 sure isn't a priority.
