I usually just level my ships in dorms until they hit 90 ish and then send them to 8-4 with a BB. And I use the ships I want to level in events. Works like a charm

@@johnflounder9778 Expand your dorm and buy as much furniture as you can. Furniture raises the happiness level in the dorm and that increases the amount of exp your ships get there

@@johnflounder9778 They only gain exp as long as the food bar is not empty. Make sure to fill it up regularly. Also some foods provide additional bonus xp

Me, who is Level 124 but never finished Chapter 11 and always Farming and leveling on Events.....
Cool... After almost a year yesterday i started CH 13 and got to 13-3 since 13-4 one shoted my backline. It's so hard to grind that exp to get your ships to 120. Worse part is trying to get a DR ship to max lvl and max stats with full fate simulation. It's all so time consuming that it's not worth it. But i won't be able to grind bunker hill if i don't do that sadly.
@@tonylefthechat Increase your power level in your backline and vanguard and use purple/gold ship gear. Enhance your gear and use Chapter 12 and 13 to grind for any PR waifus

Jeez I play too much started 8 days ago and I’ve already used a promise ring on enterprise who is now lvl 93 and the rest are like lvl 50+
I'm not sure you mentioned this but it's worth reiterating when you talk about 12-4, the reason 1-1 fleets are more optimal is because the flagship and MVP exp multipliers are only applied to one ship per battle, so having a small fleet maximizes those bonuses (one to each ship or both to the flagship). This way you're getting more exp per oil spent.
And then of course, other map clear rewards such as gold, plates etc. don't depend on the number of ships you're running so the less oil you spend, better.
just wanna add a little something, for 8-4.
1: W8 is one of those zones where the terrain and spawns can block your route to the boss, like an upscaled 2-1.
If it does, theres practically nothing you can do but to spend 1 more attack to open the way to the boss which brings down the oil:xp ratio to barely better than 7-2, which leads to point 2.
2: W8 actually suffers a dip in xp because of only needing 4 battles to spawn the boss. (7-2 and 8-1 have approximately the same base xp, you can plot out the xp graphs from wiki to see for yourself)
Which means if you want to justify running a map with enemies 10 levels higher, mob spawn obstacles, less ? to collect, killing the boss is a necessity for the overall xp bump.
3: also a shout out to W11, don't dismiss it too quickly. Based on the xp graph again, the end game xp spike starts on W11 (wiki check if you wanna see for yourself) and because of level advantage mechanics, you can reasonably run a 1:1 setup with a BB+vanguard on 11-1 for very high oil:xp efficiency without becoming Saudi Arabia.
Obviously, thats for very endgame players who know what they are doing and have all the necessary gear to attempt something like that.
Best guide for leveling I've seen so far! Super easy to follow as a new player as it just answers all the questions I had.

8-4 and 6-4 Brings bad memories, I started doing the 6-4 when I started playing and then it was 8-4 until the end for PR ships, but at least I got many Mayas and Yuudachis
Well at least you got the SSR ships. I've been grinding 6-4 and 8-4 for weeks now and still no Maya or yuudachi
I got Yuudachi within 10 tries. I've farmed 8-4 over 300 times, nothing. Similar case to 3-4 farming (at least I have Kaga and Akagi)
I got 21 Mayas and 13 yuudachis
True quick and dirty leveling: ships in Operation Siren can still be send on commisions. So you can send them on the 10hour exp commision while leveling them on OS!
Mad lad has full difficulty on 3-4 but also has akagi+kaga.
RIP anyone who's been farming them for years. I got them within 2 weeks. he probably got them in like two tries.

Chapter 6 for me was fantastic. Mainly because that I got Yuudachi on my first run through 6-4

Nice video Kimo. If someone has problems with 12-4, or if it's too much oil, you can farm mobs in 12-2 with a 4/5 ships setup (1 or 2 main, and 3 vanguard)

Okay this is pog, I just got back and last I played was 2018 so I have no clue how anything works anymore, this was just what I needed thanl you, I'll start farming 3-4 until I get what I need then I'll come back to check again for the next stage of farming ^^

Me who's power-leveled my account from 35 to 55 in a matter of a couple days grinding 3-4 and Mirror event xD Burned about 15k oil, definitely wasn't efficient with my oil running all my favorite ships.

Also, for safe mode on 12-4 it's possible tto send lv. 105 ships.
Both my Centaur and North Carolina did quite well underleveled.

after 3 years of playing, im still bad at farming in azur lane, gotta study the basic all over again
5-1 for t3 and t2 twin 127mm mk 12 blueprints. One of the best destroyer main guns in the game also a good choice for secondary guns on most USS BBs that cant equip cruiser guns. So there is something thats worth grinding for in chapter 5 and thats it

There is a cheeper alternative to 12-4 - its 11-1. Chapter 11 has the biggest EXP spike between chapters in the game. Its also one of the last maps you can play with low amount of ships. Its best for Main fleet lvl ( i go there with 3 ships : 2 BBs and Cassin/Downs retro at 120 or BB and CVL/CVL with cassin/downs). You wont sirvive until the boss shows but you dont care about it. The map drop is not good , thefore just do the same as 7-2 (do 3-4 battles and pull out). The cost is less then 40 and you get very good EXP from it. The map is bad for CVs due to lots of kamakazes but the AA requriment is pathetic compared to 12-4, therefore perfect for leveling BB/BCs.
Whenever I get a new ship I want to level up fast I just put her in dorm and send 12h commission away. Next day she will be level 40 or so, so I just limit break her twice, give her good gear and swap her to go with other girls to go and do some war archives or event maps so she can leech exp.
When farming PR exp it's 8-4 for vanguard ships with lb0 BB, and 12-2 for backline ships with BB and 2 CV in the back and something like Prinz solo vanguard. Though that might not work with French ships because, you know... no carriers..
Also the quantity of toolboxes you have, well it's not that much. I have 117 and I still want more xD I don't really like to swap out gear from ship to ship at all. On the other hand the quantity of purple parts, like what the hell? I have like 5000 purple plates combined on all of my +10 main guns (dd, cruiser and bb all combined), and maybe extra 1k at best for all the +7, +8 and +9 main guns I didn't bother calculating. Same thing with torps, all my purple torp parts combined add up to 6,5k. For context, I started playing back in october 2018, 3 weeks after EN servers launched. I'm level 116, and I play daily. I guess I just grind the wrong maps to get parts...
probably couldve mentioned to spam events for event pts as that would be better for new players. i didnt farm story maps until i was already late game
The only thing missing in auto mode is for the bot to actually go retrieve the [?] nodes instead of ignoring it
If that gets implemented 7-2 becomes the place to farm

I've done 8-4 in the mid 90s for Frontline and 90 for backline and completed it relatively quickly with 3:1 or 1:3.

I also use 11-1, because the XP jump comes straight with chapter 11 and you can start jumping into the map with lower level ships than 12-4. Although you don't get alot gear by running 6 ship fleets, the gear is better IMO on 11-1.
For me when I was doing 3-4 3 times a day on hard mode
Kaga dropped at 1st try but Akagi took about 6 MONTHS to drop

in my 2 years of playing this game it's my first time hearing about the level method 2% damage increase/decrease. I'm glad i learned something new today. Also, do you have mob and boss fleet recommendations for chap 13 and 14??
Videos like these are very helpful. I played this game for a long time and watched many instructional videos. Most videos say that you should build a strong main fleet to take you through events and progress further into the game, but don't guide
you how to do that.
My reason for looking this up is because I am kinda new to the game I only played a day or two ages ago
I'd do 5-1 and 5-4 for the purple/gold Twin 127mm (5"/38Mk 38) and the purple/gold Quadruple 40mm Bofors (Mk2 mount) if you you rng luck on tech boxes is trash, but it's not like their drop rate in said maps is great either so it's personal preference whichever way you want to do it
Show us some farming fleets you're using at the moment please! Who are your carry ships? What does your setup for 8-4 look like?
Literally whatever I want to level up in a 1:1 formation. Just make sure your levels are up to standards with what I recommend in whatever map you farm at. Also be weary of using carriers because there are suicide bombers.

Me suffering due to having less blue plates in aviation and main gun (auxiliary too) than Purple.

Are there any time and oil estimates on how long it takes to get an oil-heavy ship from level 1 to 120?
For at least a week I’ve been seeing 120 ships from the Inverted Orthant event (ended ~ two weeks ago) so some people must be insanely good at lvl farming! ( or have a ton of oil)
Just depends on how much you play.
Farm them and keep them in the dorm with purple food items while you do it

Dunno if my time was really a waste in chapter 5 for farming Bofors gun , golden 128mm DD guns and golden hellcats but I guess it does because most my ships are underleveled

spam 13-4 on auto with unicorn retrofit+ryuuho+perseus (only work in safe mode)
5-4 has blueprints for the gold Quadruple 40mm Bofors, a good BBs Anti-air gun imo

Not worth farming 5-4 because it's 1 additional sortie to spawn the boss compared to previous maps and at that point you might as well farm chapter 6 because it's the same amount of sorties to spawn the boss and you can farm purple plates. Anti-air is negligible until chapter 12 anyways so you have time to farm it, no need dto farm it right away.
I'd go for STAAG tbh.

Harder for newer players that are rushing chapter 12, but you can do it yeah. But don't expect a 3-4 month player to be doing that efficiently and this video is made for newer players.

Well, i got 3 of formi in her last rate up. Farming for the italians yet got this girl most of the time.
3-2 with Helldivers, purple steam catapults, one of the better purple DD guns, and retrofit-able end-game ready carriers...
3-2 isn't bad, but I'll be explaining in a future video as to why I don't like farming for gears specifically.
Sometimes it's so hard to tell what gun is better than what other gun. Some guns have gold upgrades that are worse than their purple upgrades.. some gold guns are worse because of the type of ammo they use.. and then there's the whole fact that some guns are better on some ships, but not others. I would absolutely LOVE a video that explains all that, and why. And teach us how to fish.. aka how do I figure this out for myself using the wiki and such.

Hey Kimo, should I just use a normal backline ship with a low damage gun while leveling my vanguard ship or use erebus for low oil cost?
I use slot them in normally, even though I know it takes longer to level up vanguards and having them not get MVP as much will take longer. That's why I also dorm my vanguards in all slots and not a single backline as well.

My story: IJN Kamikaze + USS Nevada 1:1 cheap duo. Retrofit Kamikaze is a pretty strong torpedo boat with insane invasion, while Nevada is a reliable backliner. If you got Sevastopol on Frostfall event, that will do. She surpasses Arizona as healer battleship in 1:1 fleets.

Do you recommend farming 7-2 with auto-search? and how can you clean the maps with fleets 1:1 I go 3:3 because it is impossible for me to complete with fewer ships
Auto doesn't pick the ? tiles so I would advice against auto-search.
As for why you have to 3:3 can be due to levels, gear, skills and the type of ships.
You can do auto for that, but 1. You may need to fight extra mobs needlessly and 2. You would have to turn off auto search while the ship spawns are loading so you don't accidentally fight the boss before collecting the ? nodes.
I'm currently at 10-4, y' know looking for Jintsuu, but she doesn't want to come out yet... Probably will stick at 10-4 for a while. Wish me luck I guess.
If you're farming for something then go for it, my recommended maps are just for general farming with no superficial goals in mind.
Jintsuu shows up in other Ws as well. Check the wiki, as you can save some oil farming a lower map for jintsuu

For 8-4, what oil efficient backline to level up Frontline? My Nevada still dies.
Anything really, you'd still want some wave clear if you're doing 1:1 otherwise you're having a level problem. Don't use them until 105 minimum there.

Erebus 100 with Good quad british guns. Decent survival rate, cheapest Purple backline with excellent clear rate. BM in general are cheap grinding options, except on plane maps, which they suffer immensely, use Abercrombie on 7-2 at 70 and Erebus at 100 on 8-4, terror is the same.

Press go and watch your ships farm. That's grind for you, I've farmed some maps over 30000 times in this game.

Can if you want, I don't find world 11 maps amazing though because there isn't much to gain from it. But with full auto, experiences may change.

You can auto 12-4 too, need safe mode to make it super easy.

No, but it just gives you an idea on how you'd want to be geared going into each chapter/world.
just put them in your dorm if you unlocked all of the dorm slots to put in your 6 waifu ships

I'm trying to get the new event frame and I need my ship girls to reach lvl 70 for max limit break but there is only a few days left before the events are gone so with your tips, how many days with the tips before my ship girls reach lvl 70?
Dorm or use them in 2:1 set ups with stronger ships so they can leech off exp.

Both serve different purposes, Helena is always superior in boss/damage set ups. Seattle more AA oriented.

I've been playing for about 1-2 months now and I'm player lvl 70, my biggest issue is getting the initial 40-50 levels on new ships that I pull and want to use, what's the fastest/most efficient way to do this? Cos I normally try to just put em into a higher map with 1-2 carrys but more often than not, they sink
I dorm until lv 90 and then I use them at 7-2 most of the time.

Always 1-1 , if you can. 1 backline , 1 vanguard.

@@rutherfordmylerang5278 Well , the one you want to level , obviously. But yes pretty much. They will have level advantage plus you want good gear on them. That is good enough. If they are good units and you have good gear , you can level a 100 front and a level 100 back at the same time. If you are a new player and unsure , or have not so good gear , then you might need your highest level backline ship as a "carry" to help you kill fast , instead of a level 100 backline ship also levelling. Don't forget to equip first aid kit accessories too.
