got Vex just randomly killing an archer in countess and Ohm in random chest in Halls of Pain

I love cows for the mob density. I'm doing a no sorc ladder season so been using a trapsin instead. Tearing through cows with lightning & corpse explosions racks up kills & runes quickly. Best I've found there this season so far was a sur & cham.
I must say I've really taken to farming Trav for high runes.
Quick and efficient, down side to it is that you won't get any rw bases from them but it's very beneficial in long run.
no rw bases, but if you're very lucky and take the time to id you can get godly magic/rare items
I’ve found Lo and Ohms off trav and facets and good GCs but I find chaos with a fast clear speed is the best farming spot for runes or high lvl items imo it only takes like 2 mins to clear the entire thing with a FOH/hammer/poison nova/Javazon
Yes, Trav or Lower Krust for me, super efficient! Trav is also good for charms, rings, amulets and facets~
How not ? I get bases from Travincal all the time. The adds can literally drop any base item in the game.
This ladder season in D2R I found 0 high runes in cows and 0 mid runes in cows...However, during one of the all day cow terror zone events, I found a perfect superior etherial great hauberk with 4 os, which I sold for 6 high runes. Is the secret cow level the best place for high rune drops? Deffinetly NOT. Is it worth doing it? Deffinetly YES.
My Javazon, Blizzard Sorc, Poison Necro, and Hammerdin all kill cows quick just never really get anything from them. I get much better drops in TZ's. I'm fairly casual though. I don't do the typical 12+ hours of farming that you see on YT. I'm in game for an hour and then off to do other things.
Another con is that d2r doesn't have an ítem filter.. So runes might be hidden

Personally I've never dropped anything higher than a Vex. I'm not lucky like the streamers.
having found several ber and jah at cows, id say yes it is good. ive not found those anywhere else

Highest I ever found was a Lo on Cow and I have played for years. Better off farming chaos or travs.
I did the same math with Ber runes, and came up with a 1-3-6-9 ratio for Council - Ghosts - Cows - Regular mobs, and after that it just comes down to kill speed. After averaging out how long each run takes, how many kills you can get in different areas you will probably end up with different ideal areas for each class.
Just like with TC87 MF Horking (Trav council) is the top spot because you have lots of chances for high odds in a small area with a 75% chance to double your finds.
After that running Lightning Fury, CE, or Nova while just pushing areas with really high density can be just as productive. Personally I like anywhere with the Fetish type mobs because they have the standard drop rate but have low HP and spawn in really dense packs. Edit: the sleeper spot is the Tals tombs because they can spawn with ghosts and a boatload of skellies, but its a bit random because the Gorebelly and Beetle tombs tend to have really low density.
Lastly running Chaos is always a good option because you can either full clear or skip most of the actual killing and still get loot by manipulating how long mobs stay active offscreen on a seal-pop.
I don't enjoy Horking so most of my runes have been from Chaos, but I also played Bliz sorc for the first 2 months of ladder and didn't have good density clear.
FoH easily wrecks chaos with like no gear. Starting out its a really solid option to gear up thats also in a 85 zone
@@securatyyy for sure, that's my plan for S3 unless they roll out some serious balance changes that make me want to play a very off-meta class. FOH is probably the best Chaos full-clear early on and is 100% how I plan to make my early value. I dropped a Jah, Lo and Ohm since the new year there alone. :D

I have found a ton of high runes, but none in the cow level. I believe the highest rune that I ever found in the cow level is a PUL, and I do not consider that a high rune, hi-mid maybe. Maybe I just have bad luck in the cow level, but for me, cows give very little experience as compared to areas in Act 4 & 5 which counts for a lot when playing ladders as you want to farm in areas with hi experience. I do cow runs now for bases ONLY, not for anything else, and certainly not for runes. To get high runes, you are better off doing Baal runs and Chaos runs, finding great gear which is easy, and trading that for high runes. I am now rich with high runes, but most I traded for gear which I have found farming.
Trading for botted high runes? No thanks.
All I would say is, Cows is a good place to find base's...
I can only speak for myself…I’ve never found anything higher than a Gul on cows. Years of playing…I find most of my runes in CS, WSK, Arcane Sanc and so on. I personally only run cows for gems, charms and bases.

Me too, found a Ohm rune once. Had insane luck last year in cs, wsk, and Nhilathak. Jah from Diablo, jah and zod from Baal and a ber at Nhilathak. Found every rune except a cham

Here is my batshit crazy theory: before opening the cow portal, check where all the cows are. If they’re facing the wall, put it behind them. If they’re all facing the middle, put it beside your chest. I have Never spawned on top of cows since. Yeah I’m insane. Imma watch the video now, cheers buddy

Cows is a great place to find them lol lots of density its where most of my high runes have come from

monster density is the key factor. In your fallen example, you fail to factor in that you'd need to spend 50 times as long encountering 500 fallen vs going to cow level and dusting 500 lumped cows. Nobody is going to run cowd with a character than can only take on one at a time. As you mentioned, hammers, bolts, novas spread damage to mass enemies. But doing that to 6 fallen in a pack and then runninh 5 seconds to find 6 more? Yah, that aint happening.
The tower, I have found an unfair amount of HR’s just by killing everything up to the countess. She drops Ists too
Overall not the best luck there but i did find a jah and a Lo in 2 consecutive runs one time.
found 2 ber, 1 cham and a few vex/gul/ist runes in cows, so its a pretty good spot for me

Merc dies a lot some days. My necro face tanks cow packs without nasty uniques. If you want to run cows with low risk, consider max block(75%) damage reduction (non magic), % damage taken from mana, and max lightning res.
Drops are NOTHING like they were in 1.09. Use to be the best place to level and as good of drops as chaos sanctuary, now its just an Easter egg in hell.
It is. Still just rng. Got a pul and ohm in 2 hours last night. None in 2 hours today. The Pul came from a rock, as did a jah about a week ago. Dont sleep on the rocks, chest, and corpses. Bring keys and click on everything.
I've been wondering about stats on opening the chests/containers there. I usually open all of them even on P1. There's no super chests like on many other farming spots so I'd have to take that into consideration as well. Nice vid :)
Only really high rune I've ever gotten from cows was a Sur from a chest.
Hell Cows is hands down the #1 area in game for gathering up tons of flawless gems to make your phems for crafting and rerolling. Not only that but at the same time youll find tons of low-mid runes and everything else you need to farm every kind of crafting material you need and FAST. you can fly and kill super fast in p1-p3 with a Nova sorc even without any gcs and super low torch+anni, no sojs or bks or maras. Even without infinity you can still fly and clear quick so if youre looking for a cheap build yhaat runs cows and chaos gg, go with Nova ES build
The fact that they just walk slowly at you, don't explode, or shoot from a range usually means that I don't die unless I'm being especially reckless. So I can turn my brain off more when killing cows than most other mobs. Sure its not exactly better or worse drop rate, BUT sometimes I want to chill.
i found 2 sur 2 vex in 200runs
Its either cows, chest behind mehpisto, or shenk for me. Only places where ive found runes above ist. I tried kurast and travincal but best thing I ever found was unique items that arent worth a pul even.
The great thing about cows is that it fulfills multiple things at once. Provides some runes, runeword bases, the occasional unique/set, and lots of flawless gems.
Cows don't drop Squat and after 5 runs there boring as Hell .. I have a fully decked light sorc (dealing 42,348) damage skill level 45 at level 93 ... I've tried all the player counts and devoted a weeks worth of farming. Highest rune that fell was Gul(1) and a Pul(3) ... I've got 345 MF. This seems to just be pimping cows. Furthermore .. if players1 cows has 9770 or w/e health ... how come it takes me sometimes 3 shots to kill it ???? Lets see 42k damage hitting 9770 ... BS.
Cows is my favorite area to play because of monster density but worst place for HRS for what ever reason. I literally found more HRS in act 1 blood moore then cows. Maybe my RNG, maybe just happens, maybe a bug or what ever it is.
Where the hell did you get 771 life for a Fallen from? That's less health than a Fallen in the Blood Moor with a minimum life roll. Fallen can have between 25-55 base health, which is then increased based off of their level. A Fallen in the Pits will have more than 2,000 life. Also curious as to WHERE these Fallen are from with that drop chance. Their treasure class varies depending on where they are located.
RNG impacts Cow life much less. They have a base life pool of 220-270. So really they only have 6x the life when they are the same level. Not 12x.
How do I farm cows? I get one wirts leg per play through totalling 3. Farming is more than 3.
i've found ber rune from cow rune just the other day. Honestly i have better luck finding stuff via cow runs than a lot of boss runs.
Im long overdue if those odds are real. Ive been doing 10 cow runs per day for 2 months without a single hr drop.
Actually not. If there are 400 cows on average and you kill them 10 times a day for 60 days, it adds up to only 240k. Gotta bump those numbers up. :)
Roll a barb after you get some gear next season. Trav is 1:85k for a Ber and has ~20 chances per run you can double with horking in ~30seconds on a static map.
The sad fact is there is no place good for high runes. I have been playing since D2 R came out on single player and I have four characters that are upper 80s or lower 90s level and I have found three Lo runes, and one Sur rune and not a single Vex rune.
I have been farming, Hell Andarial and Hell LK for two weeks trying to find a Gul Rune. No luck yet…
Most high runes me and my friends find on Chaos runs and Travincal. Cows are good for bases/gems/charms. I got a friend who gets SHITTONE (literally) of highrunes in Tal rasha tombs.

Within 5 minutes I get 3-4 low runes from enemies, jars and chests. Supplimented with some chipped gems so I'd have gems to up a midrune
those cows are still not FOH-able wich is a damn shame
Such as melee char so bad at make it fast as the aoe classes (sorc, java, hammerdin... traps... etc...) wich is even more a shame ! Bring AOE to Melee dear Blizzard !
For the rest, i farm cows from time to time, but i like to change, coz let's say it... cows are not what i want to kill in a h&s...
There is one MAJOR detail for why cow's is better than even Arcane for runes. Flat plane..thats it .Every item that drops is available, and not just gone to the void space. Unless you want to bore yourself to death with LK runs forevrer
Best way for me is to farm for a certain other stuff and runes just come along. Farmed cows for a bow base yesterday and got me ist, um and pul. Farmed terror andy and found vex.
I Found a 5os 15/3 Sup PB base in pub cows maybe p5 or p6 that I used to roll my perfect Sup Grief woohoo
In LoD i have had more success in items and runes in CS and Pit, but i still like farming cows more. Especially since i play HC cows are alot safer than CS and Pits.

I got 2 ber in 90 mins last month. Was insane.
Thats because p1 isnt that good for it.People ve been recommending it for players 5 and 7 in SP/PlugY or if you manage to get a grp in multiplayer.
RNG is RNG. I’ve done hundreds of trav runs on my horker this season and only got a Cham. Did a few cow runs on my javazon and got a Ber.
CS Runs and the Best are lower kurast runs 😁 i become Rich in 3 weeks from start of ladder opening every chest rocks on lower kurast, small charms, skiller 😁
Cows have another pro, you can find any rune killing cows you can't find every rune from any mob in Hell. So are you looking for that cham rune ? well you are not gonna find it doing trav runs or killing Fallen.
Cow runs are my personal favourite place to farm. I have come across Gul, Lo, Sur, Ber, Jah and Cham runes there. I didn't manage to grab all of them as I usually play online with other players and sometimes they get there first but I have obtained 4 out of those 6 mentioned.
Running lvl 88 Javazon found ber, jah, vex, ohm over 2 weeks of play about 2-3hrs a day
Took me 468 runs on hell with 3 players to get a single HR... Ended up getting a double drop like 48 runs later.
I never found anything higher than ohm in cows, ever… as opposed to travincal with item find which looks way more profitable.
I feel like the exp from cows has been nerfed and they have more HP. They used to be really great to farm, but now not so much.
Just found a ber rune and an soj today, hell cows p1 diff. So I’m just gonna say I like cows

why not mention the generic lightning sorceress which is twice as fast as any other char when clearing cows? Chain Lightning + Teleport outperforms everything by a mile :(
They must of done some kinda update cause iv been farming cows for a year now and hardly ever got anything higher than an it an this week iv gotten 2 Ber rune’s this week finally able to make my first infinity
Ohms from foul crows in black marsh say cows is not a great place to farm runes at all.
I have never gotten anything above a Gul from cows.
Haven’t played d2r much, but in regular game I’d find tons of hrs in cows

I've found a lot Hrs in cows, cuz i played game a lot, but to be fair cows never been a good thing for ladder start. It so much easier to find gear and trade it for Hrs than to farm some location for Hrs.
The only one exception is probably travi runs with barbarian. But no one really start ladder for effecienty as a barbarian, for fun maybe, but after 2.5 probably the only and and right choice for ladder start is blizzard sorc. So as for me the best way to start ladder - to do Mef/Andy runs and after that HCs.
Yeah for sure you can run cow but main target for that should be charms and runes can be only a nice additional to that.

My highest rune ever from cows is Ist, all my Bers are from River of Flame, all my Jahs from ghosts in Arcane

@@ak_getright9905 nah it’s like magic finding Meph there’s a 1 in let’s say 1.1k chance of a item dropping if lucks good u will find it early in those 1k runs if not u might not even get it or toward the end so if u did 10 runs ur actual chances of dropping whatever unique is very low but if u have a shit ton of time and can do let’s say 100 runs a day u massively just increased ur chance of finding that target item and as a side bonus whatever else drops that’s really good is a bonus. Like for solo self found I’m looking for occy hoz and a kuko so I spam the areas with best drops till I find what I need. It’s easier to do online cause if u find other good gg drops u can trade for what u need but the more u do the better the chances of gg drops basicly

You can do 1000 runs of anywhere and find a rune. But who has time for an 8 hour job just to get a high rune in a video game.

Best place for HR depends on your clear speed. And for that reason if you can clear SWK fast then it's 100% the best place.

I'm just stumped need help.. In single player only I keepe finding 5 runes only in the exact same cycle everytime..
First nef, than 2 ith, 1 tal, 1 amn and 1 hel than after that drop pattern it starts over at nef again..
This exact drop pattern has been going on for a week straight even on countess...
Anyone else experience this.. I not talking about RNG it seriously is that exact drop pattern everytime
