  • Episode 2 of the speeduino, COP convertion. crank trigger ignition on my ae86...
    The second episode of building speeduino ECU on my ae86.
    Building the Aux harness, idle control, crank trigger etc.
    Step by step DIY build.
    Hopefully getting my ae86 back to being Roadworthy…ish.

    Thanks for making these videos, I’m currently trying to work out how I can use a speediuno for a turbo st170, I haven’t built it yet but I will. The biggest thing that scares me/am totally ignorant of is the electronics of it all, do you think it would be possible to modify a stock wiring harness for all the sensors you need when you go boosted?

      Idk I’m still in high school but I am really good at putting my mind to stuff when I want to and I’m trying to understand all the little things with the electronics, bottom line I’m trying to make my focus SVT turbo for cheap. Don’t care if it eventually blows up just wanna learn as much as I can and have some fun

      Hi. Thanks. And sure. You Can modify your Stock wiring to suit the sensors to go boosted, if you just go slow and do one sensor at a time. Try, learn, and aply knowledge and skill to the next one and so on….

    Very cool stuff and happy to see someone else embracing the Speeduino life! I've got a 20v swapped AE86 Coupe running successfully with ITBs and ethanol on a UA4C Speeduino. That little ECU is brilliant, especially for the price. Excited to follow the work on yours and best of luck!

    some people used to run the honda dizzy and run the obd1 ecu. it worked pretty good.

      Cool…
      Love all the “low tech” solutions whatever works right.
      I just wanted to get the dizzy out all together…

      @@DavidRoadworthyish Yeah this was mostly used years ago before the speeduino was created, It was a cheaper standalone cause you could tune it yourself and all it required was a adapter to run the honda dizzy. Most of the yota sensors worked with it.

    how many degrees before TDC, your position the missing tooth? how about the cam sensor installation?

    • @DavidRoadworthyish
      @DavidRoadworthyish  2 роки тому +2

      I Think, from memory, that the missing tooth is around 45-46 degrees after TDC and then just adjusted acordingly in the software.
      Also not running a cam sensor at all…. Just the crank sensor. All the Stock distributor setup has also been removed.
      Really basic setup, but you don’t really need more for the 4age unless you plan on running seqential spark and fuel…

    Har du en ide om, hvor mange timer der er smidt i panda-vognen? (indtil videre)

      Ja det kan et eller andet…
      Jeg havde faktisk en ret udførlig udregning… som jeg så stoppede med da den rundede 200ish timer … det er vist et års tid siden jeg stoppede med at tælle…

    Do I need the trigger wheel in order to get the engine to fire correctly?
    I'm doing a megasquirt ecu and the 1nz cop kit for my 16v

      Hi Connor.
      The short answer is no…
      You Can use the Stock signal from either cam /distributor if it’s conditioned to suit your ms…

    Idk I’m seriously dumping a lot of questions but do you have any advice for someone looking to learn engine electronics?

    • @DavidRoadworthyish
      @DavidRoadworthyish  2 роки тому

      Well fire away…
      I guess the best motivator is building something you really want. Like your turbo build…
      And then taking it ONE STEP AT A TIME…. No rushing, that will get you a long way.
      The interest of learning to build and save alot of money in Labour… and creating something, That’s the best motivation for a skill such as automotive Electronics.

    is the speediuno just easy as rewiring to from the old ecu ? or how it works exactly i have an st 4age

    • @DavidRoadworthyish
      @DavidRoadworthyish  2 роки тому

      Yes. You Can use the Stock harness if it works.
      And all your Stock sensors…
      Only thing is you need High impendence Injectors, otherwise you need injector resistors. But everything Can be wires in the Stock harness.
