I love the work you’ve created with only two or three colours and it has influenced my way of painting a lot. Thank you for sharing your painting process, it’s always a joy to watch!
I just love watching you paint. I love all your work. It's so beautiful, simple but thoughtful. Im not sure how to describe it. I learn something every video.
This is without a doubt the best demonstration I've found that shows how to best capture the color and texture of the Rhino's skin. You just did such a beautiful job. I so appreciate your skills as I'm in the process of trying to work on both Rhinos and Elephants. I'm going to find your elephant demo. I have found both of these animals to be a challenge and you have just made it look so easy. I can't wait to use your techniques. My final products will not be as good as your's (by far) but I just got a boost from watching you. THANK YOU!
I absolutely love the colors you selected and I love the range of brights to the neutrals they create :-) Your drawing skills and your eye for color do nature justice, which is very difficult to do :-) thank you for sharing
Rhino with only two colours wow! No wonder why this has such a beautiful colour harmony Louise I’ve never tried soft press 🤔 Hello from Rhino land 🦏 South Africa 🇿🇦
I have bought two eradicator brushes because of your recommendation - they work well if used carefully. I had not heard of soft press paper before but like the idea of using pencil alongside watercolour - Lovely 🥰 overall result. You are a great teacher - thank you.
Another wonderful piece. I really loved how you explained the process and the use of other mediums. Certainly looking forward to trying this one. Thankyou so much for your work.
What a beautiful painting! It reminds me of the elephant you painted (using cling film) which is my all time favourite of yours 😊 The paper sounds like something I would enjoy. I recently tried the Hahnemühle Bamboo and it gave me a similar impression of painting on a soft velvety fabric.
Thank you for this very educational video and I love the finished painting, very lively. I have used the Fabriano Artistico paper in the past and found it did not handle well the many large washes I used for my landscapes.
Louise you are such a wonderful teacher and I always learn something new from each of your tutorials. I’m looking forward to this one on Patreon! And I love the texture of the paper. It almost looks like you’ve painted on linen!
Amazing painting Louise and I love the addition of the light blue watercolour pencil to add highlights and a bit of texture! I’ve not tried the soft pressed paper before but being that I like to add coloured pencil to some of my own paintings, I might have to try it out. Have a lovely weekend 😊💜
Hi, thanks for this delightful lesson using 2 of my favourite colours. I appreciate how you describe the process, very helpful. I have tried painting a rhino and found it very difficult to achieve his character, found your video a joy to follow. Thanks again, have a good week and take care..
Firstly, another gorgeous painting. I had not heard of that paper, but sounds like one I would try. Love the effects you get from your paints separating on the paper. And I agree that the addition of the colour watercolour pencils added to it, but I know I would have to stop myself from fussing too much.
You remain my favorite instructor artist on UA-cam both for your beautiful paintings as well as your thorough explanation of your techniques. Your calm sweet voice is enjoyable to listen to and I'm happy I joined your patreon group. I enjoy wondering what you are thinking during your outtakes. LOL!
Oh Louise, you create such beauatiful art! tI seems so easy but it is not!!! Lovely - many years of learning and doing, I am sure. Thank you for sharing your techniques and your painting. Always, always beautiful
Magnificent painting. And the paper looks awesome. I really like Fabriano cold pressed and I was thinking of trying the soft version. Very appealing indeed
Beautiful painting Louise! I just heard about soft pressed paper not too long ago, It looks like a happy medium for someone like me! I love the texture from a cold pressed paper but I'd like to add a bit more fine detail. This paper has a beautiful fine texture that didn't distract from your painting.
Thanks for showing me what I can expect from this paper. I'll have try it for sure! and the fact that the price is quite a bit less than my usual Saunders and Arches is also quite enticing!
I love watching your videos and soft pressed Fabriano paper sounds great to use, I work with watercolor but also like to combine with pastels , I have tried different papers and really like Fabriano. Will it be possible to know where to purchase this paper please, as I live in England, UK and tried Amazon and Jackson Art supplies and had no luck finding soft pressed, only cold, hot and rough. Many thanks.
Louise....is a person able to use the watercolor pencil in any part of the painting and then still be able to enter it into the Transparent Watercolor Society yearly show in Kenosha, WI. ?
Hi Louise, I have recently subscribed to your Patreon classes. My expertise is with coloured pencils and pastels so I am looking forward to learning a new medium. My previous sole attempts at watercolour has been disaster. this is because I was trying to put in all the fur details etc. I like the idea of the freedom allowed in the watercolour painting that you have shown. Can you please let me know where I can source the Fabriano soft press watercolour paper too as that is something I would like to try. I live in Perth WA. thankyou in advance.
I’ve been in love with the soft press paper for quite a while ,I don’t understand why you don’t hear about it very often. I have not been able to find it in blocks, does anyone know where I might find that ?
Hi Louise, I am watching all your utube videos and really enjoying them. I have just started with water colours and am enjoying them. Unfortunately I am a pensioner so my resources are very limited. I am based in South Africa and have access to all our National Parks. I am a wildlife photographer. If you are ever looking for something in particular to paint please dont hesitate to ask. I can supply any images to you free if you wish. Thank you for your inspiring work and lessons.
Thanks for explaining so clearly.
The painting is GORGEUS!!
Most entertaining and informative has always Louise 🙂

It's a lovely painting. Beautifully done.
I just caught the brilliant use of highlighting the geometric shapes of the grasses. Wow. See... I wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks again!
Fabriano soft press paper is my favourite ever … it’s unique paper surface.
It is unique. Thanks very much Rosa.
This is fantastic! It’s wonderful the range and textures you achieved with the two colors. Plus who doesn’t love a rhino 🦏
I absolutely love the colors you selected and I love the range of brights to the neutrals they create :-) Your drawing skills and your eye for color do nature justice, which is very difficult to do :-) thank you for sharing
Bravo. Ms. Louise. I am going to try using three colours!

Hi Ann, yes absolutely. I take you through each painting step by step. The videos here on UA-cam are just teasers.
Perfect. Thank you
