I may be 54 now, but I do remember getting my rocking horse as a small child for Christmas. I galloped the world 200 times around on him! Thank you for this beautiful memory.
When I was a child, my brother and I had a rocking horse - I think, fiberglass body on a wood armature and rockers. My British grandparents nick-named it "arry, the 'airless 'orse." My brother and I really loved 'arry." I've tried to immortalize him on one of my historicals - the toy that some children have, in a far country.
We had a Wonder Horse I think it was called. A plastic horse, metal frame with springs, and handle bars. We rode that thing to the moon and back several times I believe. Lol.
There is always so much beauty in something that has been lovingly restored! This world needs more people like you that can show what the word “worth” really stands for. We are such a throw away society now. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent ❤
You made him real. It's like "The Velveteen Rabbit" came to life for the old hair horse. Thank you Radek for this wonderful Christmas present. He's beautiful. And Veronica, as usual, I love both your contribution to the restoration and your post commentary. I hope your Christmas was wonderful.💖💖🎄🎄
A few years ago I restored a rocking horse too. It was made of a composite material. It was in bad shape when I bought it but it turned out so well. This so much reminded me of when I did mine. I just love carousel and rocking horses. They come from a time when children still played with real toys. I had always wanted one as a child but it wasn't meant to be. So now, in my senior years, I get to enjoy them even if I'm a little to big to ride them anymore. Thank you for sharing your beautiful horse.
I'm glad it brought back some nice memories for you. I completely agree with you, in the past, children played with real toys and respected them more. Unfortunately, the world is different now. I like to remember my childhood even when I am middle-aged. I recently restored a swinging rooster. It also brought back fond memories for my wife of swinging on the rooster as a child. :)
@@VeradonaRestoration Yes the world has changed and it is unfortunate for kids. They spend most of their time on their phones. My brother and I actually had to use our imagination when we played and I think I am better for that.

Radku a Veroniko. Mějte klidné svátky a do roku 2023 vykročte tou správnou nohou. Díky za návrat do dětství. V 70 letech jsem měl hnědého chlupatého houpacího koníka. Měl kovovou houpačku. Bohužel ho sežral zub času a moli. Pavel 🇨🇿.
I too thought of the old rocking horse from the child's story of the "The Velveteen Rabbit" when I first saw the rocking horse! The story made a lasting impression on me. I had such a rocking horse that was handed down to me and handmade by my foster father Jim for his eldest daughter Linda for Christmas. I grew up on a Pennsylvania Dutch farm and I was given many store bought gifts but none made as happy or touched my heart like that ole rocking horse my foster father restored for me. :) Thank you for the memory! A most wonderful restoration! Merry Christmas to you and your family and wishing you all the best in the coming new year! :)
He’s just beautiful. i’ve watched paintings being repaired exquisitely, dolls being reborn. . . but with this horse, i felt him in my bones as you took him apart - it hurt to feel him being pulled apart however so gently. i wanted his beautiful face to stay exactly the same, he is so sweet. i wanted his insides and body to be the same. you didn’t pull him completely apart, you kept him in tact. you repaired his face and head and put him right back together again. you scraped, sanded, filled in, and painted, and nailed all so carefully. then his reins, saddle, et al. were renewed. (the saddle was different, but good.) he got his tail, his ears, and mane carefully brushed and cut. he was still himself, just with new saddle and paraphernalia - beautiful again. i don’t know why i felt this little horse as it was repaired, but i did. thank you for taking such good care of him. Little girls and boys will love him to pieces. “Hi Ho Silver and away!!” 🐴🎠🌷🌱🌤️
I had a rocking horse as a child! In my imagination I rode for the Pony Express, I was a cowboy and rode the range, I explored different lands... those are such good memories.
Thoroughbred horse. A beautiful decorative element. Because children now rather play with other toys packed with electronics. Merry Christmas from Poland
Funny, that is the first time I've seen a rocking horse on rocker rails. When I was a kid, I had one that was mounted on a frame with springs. Beautiful restoration, I imagine it looked something like this when it was first made. Here's hoping you two had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Wow that's amazing and stunning to see how you have restored this beautiful rocking horse! It is awaken from his slumber and it's alive and thriving now! Gorgeous to see it! And do you know that women in the past have also created and developed a lot of toys for kids - huh? One of these women was Käthe Kruse who created and build really nice and awesome dolls for her girls for Christmas and only shortly after this Christmas and later on these dolls have made its way to be sold worldwide and the beginning of this story about the so-called Käthe Kruse dolls was made in the small city of Donauwoerth in Bavaria and there is also a wonderful museum of these dolls there to visit! Just to mention it here!
The work of a real craftsman brought back to life, a true heir loom not a piece of plastic, excellent work, it is beautiful! I hope you had a happy Wigilia, and merry Christmas!
Beautiful job. I remember as a young sickly child (problematic birth) in early 60s needing numerous visits to Great Ormond Street Hospital for treatments operations where they had a beautiful rocking horse.
Thank you for the information you & your beautiful wife give at the end of the videos. I truly enjoy watching your extraordinary work. Best wishes in the new year.
Okay... I normally love your restorations, they're amazing... but I have to admit when I first saw the rocking horse I was like, "oh no no no.... that looks like a museum piece... no no no" and I literally winced every time a nail was pulled. But then as it neared the end... and I saw how it was coming out... and then I saw the finished piece... and... well that's just beautiful. Fantastic job.
Thank you, I'm glad. The horse was obviously painted over in the past, because the original ones were made by "grošáci", finally it found its place in a museum :)
