That super glue story is relatable AF! 😂
Having a traumatic past doesn't give one free reign to be an asshole. Yes many times they are unaware of how their trauma projection makes them an asshole but doesn't excuse it. Then there are those who knowingly use their trauma to be an asshole then play it off as they can't help it. Those are the worst. I have a traumatic past and I have in the past done asshole like things because of it but just because I had trauma and it directly created the issues didn't make me any less of an asshole. Trauma may be a reason for behavior but it's never an excuse.
This! ☝️
I have a simple mindset. Someone else's past problem is not my problem now.
Super glue wasn't invented for wound treatment, it was originally invented for use in clear gun sights during World War 2. It wasn't until the 1960s that an application for its use in wound care would be submitted, at least in the US, to the Food and Drug Administration
12:35 The rarest type of player? An attractive woman.
Ouchie
Also about super-glue, the current recipe for super glue is actually diluted from the concentration that it used to be produced at. Today if you glue your fingers together you can use acetone to unglue them-the previous recipe was so strong that you had to go to the hospital and they’d use industrial-grade solvents.
I was playing catchup on the videos I have been watching since the beginning I really enjoy them and what you do for the hobby and the people in it. When you were talking about The soldier who ran back to Athens after the battle of Marathon, you said he was warning them to not open the gates for the rest of the coming Persian army. If my memory of history is still good I believe he actually ran back to tell them of their victory at the battle and once he did he collapsed and died. You were correct about this being where we get the modern-day Marathon from, which was 26 miles. I re-joined the channel after having to cancel as disability doesn't pay a fortune, I wish I could do more. Keep up the good work I look forward to these every week and please forgive my poor writing skills. Have a wonderful Easter and above all else stay safe.
btw the runner who ran it died after he shouted through the city. his heart gave out after running the 26 miles.
North’s mailbox is now full of dog photos after posting one on the channel. Time to start a new doghammer channel.
1/2 tsp. sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
1/8 cup water
Some sort of push button sprayer.
Super Glue activator spray.
Or you can put glue where you want to glue it and dip the part that's being connected to it in the solution before putting it there.
One of my favorite tricks with this is if I'm doing basing and I'm doing turbulence in liquid is I'll put down some super glue, spray it with the activator spray, and spray that with some canned air before it sets. I did that for the bases on my lesser daemons for heresy to make it look like they're charging through a lake of blood.
Or just use some water, it reacts with water and will be solid in a second
@blackharlekin7768 It doesn't get the same effect, though. And using just water actually creates a weaker bond than using baking soda. The soda actually neutralizes the acid in CA glue which is there to make it take longer to set. Water will actually cause the glue to bloom.
A lot of people just use straight baking soda, no water.
Second guy really pulled the “it’s what my character would have done” excuse to be the main character
OK warhammer community I'm relatively new to the hobby and I'm playing guard now I have an idea I want to share. Now hear me out what if I painted my armoured sentinel like an at-st from star wars would that be cool or would I just be crucified lol. Many thanks northern exile love your videos and please give honest opinions I'm genuinely curious. Much respect guys. (I know it hasn't got much to do with hobby nightmares just wanted to share a thought)
Sounds like heresey. Inquisitor, this one over here!
Paint them how YOU want mate, anyone who takes the piss is a nob head!
14:39 the players finally feel what its like to be a dm
All of the " marxists" that I grew up with were extremely wealthy kids lol.
I had friends that were normal but went to college and turned into them. It was weird.
Yey, doggo!
I feel for Dave. I’ve got similar issues, not with “losing” per se but with performing poorly. I tend to take it out on myself after whatever I did bad at whether it be the hobby, a video game, something at work, etc. I usually shout and feel negatively about who I am and have to walk away from things for a while until my mentality resets.
Time stamps for stories would be ideal
I know a dave, 90% of the time we do PvE stuff because he can't stand not having an assured victory. It is because his parents babied him, and he expects everything handed to him, this has resulted in not getting alot of wins in life, which does not help the problem.
To his credit, he does not cheat the rules, but whatever army he is playing at the time becomes underpowered and apparently needs a buff, even when hes winning.
i would like to hear more about your conversations with man's mortal enemy, Super dooper Glue
Dave reminds me a fellow who I play MTG Commander with, whose gained something of a quietly infamous reputation for winning too often and holding most of the board power in our larger pods.
That being said at a distance it's easier to sympathize with someone like Dave when it isn't your games or circles, they're influencing with their lack of grace to stomach losses but when it is you're not going to have any time for someone who's choosing to satisfy their self-indulgence to win at any costs over everyone else just trying to have fun or a good time.
In this stories case it sounds like Dave has alot of damage to undo if he wants to have a chance of staying in the 40k hobby with his head above the water, as sooner or later he'll likely end up burying himself attempting to maintain his unreasonably high expectations to win flawlessly.
- Our kind-of Dave isn't too bad on my end but tensions are brewing between other competitive players and the power creep continues unbated in my small rural shop, if it ever pops I might just have a story of my own for North to read.
I believe its true as well, i was always good at sports but never good at academics. I can take a loss really well but i cant stand to have my intelligence insulted lol
Howdy north, also superglue, was used during the Vietnam war to help medics out during combat.
Is it just me or does anyone else find the background music too loud?
not so bad. Could be a tad lower.
No, superglue (or crazyglue) wasn't invented to close wounds. It was discovered to be good at it, but was not purposely designed to do that (discovered in WWII while dr. Harry Coover was trying to invent clear plastic gun sights). First time it was used to close wounds was during the Vietnam war, but was never medically approved.
Maybe Dave is the kind of guy you could reach with a conversation outside of a game.
Dave might have an authoritarian father.
Photo of doggo = instant approval.
On the lent/lended issue, coulda been worse. My personal ultimate hate is using "borrow" - as in "he borrowed me his glue" *argh* I feel dirty just typing it.
I agree that some people come from those backgrounds, like what you discussed with 'Dave', but then... some people are just twats
And with that I'm out.
Zips knows Dave not us, so I reckon if he's questioning if he's redeemable he knows so in his heart he's just not confident in making a morale judgment. I think depending on what zips thinks it stems from he should probably get his socials and call him up for encouragement everyday some heathy masculinity morale boost. I personally call up a few people a day for morale and gym engorgements and whatnot.
Also turns out realistic marine version of the raptors isn't a fan faction anymore their codex legal with a special datasheet online only I think, and my lore info of their playability was outed. I thought you could only play as the blue and yellow goofy raptors as generic space marines so I would like to apologize for that. I would recommend it as a perfect replacement for tau in imperium of man, same ethics or better, with better strategies, but for the greater good of monkey first not fish and based on actual western militaries with them spiritual representing the real life usmc.
Music a bit loud this time
Daves man ..... Daves. What exactly is the gig with a Dave.
Only ever met one that was chill.
The first time I told a story about GW I referred to a guy as Dave to save anonymity, it kind of stuck when we switched to Nightmares sent in by you guys :)
@@northernexile ha! Me too! And we're half a world away from one a other....
Love your videos
man that second one about the story line game or whatever was terrible
Wanna play DT?
