That first security guard was acting as if blind people have papers saying HEY IM BLIND 🤣
Your blind
Americans really dont have disability cards?
In Germany you have a pass for disabled person, and there are letters which says that this person has this or that disability, f.e. there stays on this pass bl. Which means that this person is blind
@ Dayki Baran how would you say autistic on such a pass?!?
@@DreamStalker2 it doesn’t stay there
Story 2: Uhhh, the security guard should know that the service dog is more than enough of a hint that OP is blind. While it makes my blood boil at this Karen's utter entitlement, I am mad at the first security guard too. He failed to protect a customer at a mall and even ask for "proof" if OP is blind. This first guy utterly failed at being a security guard, he even failed to comply to OP's request to be left alone. Disgraceful.
To be fair there are pleanty of people who just say their dog is an "emotional support" animal just to get the dog to go where ever they want
@@brianarnold8666 So would you rather potentially harass a blind person or potentially allow an "emotional support dog" in an establishment?
@@brianarnold8666 Nowadays, a lot of "emotional support" animals will have a special harness similar to guide dogs, to show that they are allowed to be in public spaces.
Plenty of places, it's pretty illegal to ask why you have a service dog. It's like asking what medication you are taking.
There are very few reasons why someone needs to know. Like someone is allergic to dogs, or for the medication example, if the ingredients will react to something.
@@QuickManEXE emotional support animals arent service animals like a seeing eye dog, ptsd dog, or any other dog thats trained for a specific task. Hence, they arent allowed in places that a service xog would be.
that karen better be banned for harassing a build person, and that first guard fired for not de-escalating the situation there, I hate it when some people like this won't leave others alone cause of their disability, and more so if someone with authority just takes the Karen's side over stupid reason.
Even if not blind , it's her dog
And for all Karen knows that dog could have been a rescue dog who was abused by a previous owner and the op wasn’t sure how her dog would react. Hell my brother had to be there when I met the first dog he adopted cause the dog was abused by a guy with a similar build to me and while I might not have had the dog put down for it (depending on some factors) he didn’t wanna take the risk
As a blind guy, I can say that people are extremely helpful in or near the bathroom if I get lost. An example, I got lost in the Bucky's gas station bathroom after getting dropped off in it by the person I was walking with, and I just got lost in there. A man helped me get to where I needed to be and helped me get back too. This kind of thing is also common in airport bathrooms because they are so big.
Oh you're blind? But how are you using moblie can you see the screen?
I use iPhone which has voiceover and braille screen input to type. I pointed out that I'm on iPhone using voiceover so that you don't call every screen reader voiceover like some people. On Android the most common is talkback, Amazon products have voice view, Windows has narrator, Jaws and Nvda as the most common and Apple has voiceover.
Brail screen input?? How does that work if I may ask?
Imagine a virtual set of braille dots on your screen. You calibrate them to your fingers when you are ready to use them, then after that, you just type braille onto your phone.
With that second story I wish I was an ADA lawyer. That is an easy slam dunk open and shut case right there.
Not only on the Karen but the establishment. There's a reasonable expectation of safety and with the security guard knowingly not helping after the OP says that they are blind it is ADA nightmare
I can't tell you how many different stores I've been in and get people thinking I'm an employee when what I'm wearing doesn't even match the uniform. And tonight I'm posting my story, AITJ for getting my cousin fired after he took my job, it's going to be Epic!
That happened to me in Target recently. I wasn't wearing red. But I was wearing a vest, which apparently makes me look like I work at Target or something.
Isn't the blind person, security guard and Karen story covered before?
Yeah, it was. The karen should have been a taught a lesson for her ignorance and apparent lack of common sense.
@@theimmortalone2806 and that first security guard fired for having it one sided towards the harasser.
@@Charles-7 Agreed. Incompetence is not rewarded.
This is the third time I've heard this exact story in the last month.
Yeah
There's a German UA-camr who's also blind or atleast legally blind. He can see 2% which probably roughly perceives outlines. He makes Videos about his daily life and struggles as a blind Person. And even he get's some comments that accuse him of faking it.
You said the content but didnt said whats the name of the channel for me to check it
@@arthurfontes7326 Mr Blindlife
Story 2 is a repeat. I know is hard to keep track of every story you guys have included in your videos, but lately you've been repeating stories quite often.
i noticed that too
I think this is actually the third time Am I The Jerk has repeated this story.
I noticed it as well. Maybe I use this channel way too much...
I know right it's starting to get annoying
I noticed that to also i seen some other repeats before on this channel to
The fact that I recognize the lady in the thumbnail tells just how much I know about Karens. In short, she's an anti-mask person, and because she's a Karen, actually coughed on someone.
Sounds like Karen needs a care team. You know, those that older or severely disabled People need because they're unable to do that themselves
Nah she’s just mentally 500 years old
@@williamdocherty1816 Mentally 500yo people would be Wise, which she's clearly not. (you're probably joking either way, i can't really see it that good)
@@marvinlinnarz5856 yup just trying to make the stories less rage inducing for everyone else
For story 2 if you could get camera footage or a witness you could sue his company for how he handled the situation and I'd recommend it. Sounds like it was a big box store if you press charges about this the store would force every location to have the guards properly trained for situations like this. cause if the other guard who sounded the more veteran of the two didn't get involved it would have been worse hell the Karen might have tried to steal your dog. But the company isn't going to do shit until it's a lawsuit that's going to make them look bad
Story 2: When the Daughter is a much more Mature and understanding Person (and Accept a no without begging or anything) than the mother, then there's something going very wrong. And who managed it to raise the Girl good, when the mother fails to do this?
Idk where the blind Person lives, but in Germany blind people can wear markers that make clear that the Person is blind.
The Security guard seems kinda Overwhelmed ☹️
Even if those markers exist, I'm certain not every blind person wants to wear an identifier like that, especially considering Germany's...history...with marking people.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 Whoops. I get what you mean😂
Yeah, partial blindness is a thing
Story 2: so many different forms of blindness.
Story 2: the child is innocent I like that child, it understands
The Karen acted more like a child than her smart and empathetic child I hope she doesn't ruin her child by making them more like her
Where are all these people who are lying about being blind, and not working there? I'm starting to wonder if there's a place like an escape room, but in order to solve the puzzle, you have to guess their ailment, their condition, or if they work there.
Been wondering that myself 😂
why can't karen go to the bathroom herself?
too old?
Needed the door key it looks like
Happy Wednesday Everyone from Tacoma Washington!( Stay Safe and warm )
For people who don't know how the person in the 2nd story wrote that I think that she got help from someone in her family and got them to write it
Almost all phones also have voice to text features now. Even sighted people use them. Actually, modern phones are very accessible for blind people now.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 and I think some early home computers had the ability for the same if you bought an external mic and possibly the program for it (can’t remember if they came with the program or not since it’s been almost 20 years at least)
@@Allantitan yeah, it's not a super old technology. It's just gotten a bit better in terms of how accessible they are.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 WOW YOU REALLY GONNA SAY THAT WHEN I SAY A JOKE NOBODY COMMENTS BUT WHEN I SAY SOMETHING WRONG EVERY ONE DOES ignore the caps I'm too lazy to rewrite this no offense I appreciate it
If I was in story 2 this would be me: IF YOU DON'T LET GO OF MY DOG YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER ARE PEW PEWD
That second story , obviously Karen’s are the ones who are blind
I don't mind if there is a repeat if there is an update to the story since the last time it's been told.
You should have skipped the security guard and called the cops to press charges!
I’m so happy that you still make videos I haven’t seen one of your videos sense a whole year 😢
That OP should sue the store and security guard 1. He was a complete waste of space and made the situation much worse than it should have ever been.
I completely sympathize with the OP with the service dog. I have had the honor of helping customers with visual issues at my job.
I would have pressed so many charges if a women decides to take the harness of my guide dog
Security guard 1 in the second story is unbelievable. When. The entitled mom grabs the guide dogs harness one of two things is happening, 1 op is telling the truth and entitled mom is harassing a blind lady and now preventing her from leaving. 2 the entitled mom is telling the truth, but she's still preventing another customer from leaving.
Story 2: WOW! First, where I am there is usually something indicating it's a guard dog. But it's usually something along the lines of a harness or vest stating "I'm working, please don't pat me". Now usually I'll have a chat to these people, and in rare instances they state that I can pat the dog (I don't ask, they offer).
And secondly, when I was in school they actually taught us about the different kinds of blindness ie. blurry vision, splotchy, tunnel vision etc and they are all different kinds of blindness and sometimes peoples eyes can look completely normal. Cataracts are usually caused with age so that woman had no clue. If I were the blind woman I'd keep emergency services on speed dial and threaten to call the authorities if she did not leave.
Just for the record, I live in Australia so if they do not teach this in America (or wherever this happened) it's something they really need to institute.
oh my cod, i feel that first story. I have social anxiety too, that had to be an absolute nightmare
Imagine you have this plus autism which just boost the Social anxiety even more. Btw is shyness a form of social anxiety?
@@marvinlinnarz5856just being shy isnt social anxiety
@@doomfox6241 Ah okay
Ignorance is fine, expected even.
Willful ignorance is far worse. In fact, by denying ignorance, most confirm it
The 2nd story was already told but what a throwback
About story 2: If somebody don't know the thing about eyes. So, if you are born blind, your eyes are usually all white and not all people that are blind have white eyes, some people loose their sight in an accident and their eyes can look completely fine.
That thumbnail omg 😂😂
I love this guys Karen voice
I know someone who has blindness in the optic nerves. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at them.
Story 1 is so weird wtf is that women thinking
Story 2 even if she wasent blind and it was a shop/mall that alowd dogs inside this still would not make sence you just don't force somone to let their dog be petted. No means no always but some people clerly needs to turn on their second brain cell
And it’s never a good idea to just approach any animal you don’t know to pet it. You don’t know the animals temperament or past. Which is why it’s better to ask first and if AND ONLY IF the owner says yes then you can pet it. Even then I still say it’s better letting the animal to come to you so it doesn’t feel threatened or anything
I feel like I heard the second story on this channel before
@@TheSillyOne7 oh yeah I see but it’s still surprisingly similar
That Karen needs to educate herself on blind people. My sister is completely blind in one eye and it looks perfectly normal. And that first security guard is an idiot and needs to be fired or arrested for aiding an assault.
I would have straight up tazed that woman trying to forcibly take someone's seeing eye dog. I feel so angry hearing that story.
Would have taxed her just for trying to take someone’s dog regardless if their a working dog or just someone’s pet. Plus she’s lucky the dog didn’t turn on her for stressing out the op or making the dog feel threatened. Though I’m sure the dogs fight or flight instincts were seconds away from kicking in
Is this the 2nd time am I the jerk channel shared that blind story? Or am I just having dayshavoo
last story really is sad the aunt doesn't care about anyone but their kids op just wanted the day to be special without the two brat cousins who get everything they want this is why spoiling your kids is bad thing and leads to stuff like this
and to top it all off entitled aunt gave her niece a barbie doll.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall as ops mother starts realizing that the aunt did something to upset her daughter and the aunt hears (and disregards) the boss music playing 😂
I feel like story two has been on this channel before
I kinda miss the food cooking
I'm pretty sure I've hear heard story 2 on am I the jerk before but I like this story
Yes
Nice content just to clean that lens gang but fire content 🔥
Everyone's a jerk
I heard this story before
I’m not sure how no one noticed this but told the story
I cant believe there are people like this in the world i dont mean the story teller but i mean the karen mother so yeah thats my comment and opinio like if u agree😊
I've heard this story from the other commentator,, I'm pretty sure it's called Karen says I'm not blind because blind people have clouded eyes
Why is the second story the same as a story I heard but on a different video
The second story was actually all the channel before
I had a lot of story's but idk if I should tell you some of them
Not all blind people are completely blind some just are almost completely blind but can see on there phone if it's really up close everybody is different
Ayooo Red Dead
How did a blind person type this out?
Either speech to text or had someone helping them
@@Allantitan lol just a weird scenario
smh, age-fluid people these days
No Op is not the jerk clearly she has a disability and has the rights
The title is worded clickbaitily. Before I watched the video I was under the impression you meant Karen wanted OP to e.g. wipe her butt or something of THAT nature, abs not that she just wanted OP to give her the key.
That’s less a matter of entitlement and more a matter of r/IDontWorkHereLady.
The 2nd story already was in another video where it was the title video.... Why was it used again?
Bruh how tf the blind girl typed this all
Did you forget talk to text is a thing?
Gumbo!
I respect you for havind Red Dead Redemption 2 in the background.
But story 2 is a repeat.
Story two is again a recap...
Wait, why would you be on reddit while being blind?????
For the same reasons anyone else goes on Reddit. Most blind people use computers, phones and tablets exactly the same as anyone else, including using the Internet just like anyone else too. There is technology to help blind people use computers and phones just as well as anyone else - things like screen readers that read out either everything on the screen or just what you select to be read, and dictation programs where you can speak and it will be turned into typing. Most phones and tablets have some basic versions of this built in if you check the accessibility menu in the settings and there are additional, better, accessibility apps that you can download from the App Store on both android and iOS. Also similar with computers. Many blind people can even use their phones as an accessibility device to help them do stuff, for example using the camera to massively magnify any writing they need to read, or an app that will read out loud any writing that you take a picture of.
Also many people who are legally blind can actually still see a very limited amount. Some may only be able to tell the difference between dark and light or see shadowy outlines of things, while others can actually see things completely but just not at all clearly and would need things magnified so much that it effects their ability to function badly enough to be classed as blindness. These people may be able to read if they magnify the screen a heck of a lot (like one word at a time fits on a phone screen kind of size), or they may need really strong glasses and even with them they wouldn’t be able to see any kind of detail or enough to do things like drive or get around safely without a cane or dog, but they may be able to read really big print. Blindness actually quite rarely means a 100% lack of all vision.
So, yeah, one way or another, most blind people would be perfectly able to enjoy something like Reddit exactly like a sighted person can with a little bit of work-around to enable them to read it.
