As someone who suffers the same thing as the cashier, I freaking love the OP in that story, people need to realize, we didn’t ask for this and we honestly can’t control it.
i love how op taught that father a lesson while he was in line and that was some sweet revenge for him hoping that the father learns his lesson making fun of the cashier's stuttering.
but i feel like she will thank him the next time they meet.

I stutter. And it is horrible. In school I would often get bad marks because I would not talk. And the few times I did yhe majority of the class would laugh. So what that person did is so good. I feel for that cashier.
Story 5: two things.
1. If the situation were reversed, op would probably get shamed on by everybody and get cut out of their lives.
2. There's a quote from a wise pony once said.
if you are not willing to put forth the effort required to pull a prank that everypony can enjoy, you may as well not pull one at all.
Story 5: She embarrassed OP, and tells OP it's just a joke when he get mad? And she still has the gall to be mad at OP for leaving? What is she mad about?? Mad that OP wouldn't let the rest of the family humiliate him more? Mad that he refuses to be embarrassed further? Honestly, SHE was the one who ruined the trip for herself and OP for even pulling that stupid prank to begin with. Break up with her, how can she feel that she's not in the wrong here?

There was a small update in story 7 and if I'm not mistaken it went on like this... Apparently the stepfather is known to act like that around people and usually get his way so op and their brother's lack of putting up with it hurt his ego so mom decided to sit everyone down and have a conversation about what had happend.. Stepfather doubled down on being in the right and insulted op and the brother to which mom gave him a death stare, shut him down and made sure he knows not to call her kids with that insult ever again... He apologized and the issue was resolved

*Story 1:* I love OP's response to *"dad's"* behaviour towards the cashier. I've never worked in retail, so I don't know how the rewards system works. However, I find this father's mocking of this cashier to be most hideous.

@@Dartkitten Imo, definitely. For a prank, someone basically forced you to be pretty much naked in front of others. Imagine if the roles were reversed and the shitstorm that would cause. It could've also potentially lead to OP getting a fine for public exposure had someone else seen it or reported it.
@@Hynaio he also could have been put on a sexual predator list for “exposing himself” to minors if the younger cousins were under the age. They don’t differentiate the reason for the exposure even if it wasn’t voluntary. He could try and press her for sexual assault, but it would be hard to prove he didn’t know they were dissolvable before hand. Otherwise actual sex offenders would use the excuse “I was pranked” to flash people.
Swim trunks story: yeah I'd have ended things immediately as soon as she told me it was a prank with no backup trunks. If the roles were reversed he would've been labeled as a perverted monster that humiliated her.
But also I know my own comfort zone and I dont want a partner thats fine with exposing me to her family and any possible members of the public
Story number five: I would dump her. Anyone who would purposely disrespecting humiliate their significant other, is not worth being in a relationship with. Her reaction was textbook gaslighting. She deserves to be completely ghosted
Story 3: It seams unreasonable for the OP to expect his girlfriend to be able to afford to constantly eat at expensive restaurants 3 times per day.
I agree. Sure, OP doesn't and shouldn't have to pay for all of the activities but the least he can do is ensure that she has at least 3 meals a day since he has the money. If he doesn't want to pay for anything else, that is perfectly fine. If you're going to date someone, even if you agree to 50/50, sometimes that 50/50 has to become more like 40/60 or 30/70 if one partner is really struggling and that's okay as long as the other partner ends up making up for 60 or 70 that the other partner has to give. Letting your gf starve is a douchey thing to do. Sometimes one partner has to give a little more at times and that occurs in perfectly healthy relationships and it's perfectly healthy as long as it's not one partner doing more than the other all the time, and both have their times of doing more.

I don't think OP is a jerk. Sure, it was dense of him to be so late to realize what his gf was dealing with but to be fair she didn't properly communicate with him either. How is he supposed to know how to help her if she doesn't talk to him? Hopefully they'll communicate more in the future to prevent money from being a problem.
@@alpha-samabingo. We don't know if the 50/50 was her or his boundary. She could had been heavy on the 50/50 deal, so that is why it never dawn on him to question it.
It definitely feels like he didn't notice and just thought it was her choice not to participate in the activities. I'm sure if she had known how expensive it was and if he had noticed sooner, they would have discussed the trip and the financial strain it put in her earlier. I feel like this was an oversight on OPs end that he will fix for next time.
He was horribly teaching his kids to make fun of others and that's just despicable I would have asked to speak to her manager just in case he tried to complain on her or say that she was slow or something was wrong so it would be known that he was the problem and not the cashier

It is an absolute horrible thing to do to anyone really. He not only got unwillingly naked in public but was forced to stay naked during hours and was sexually harassed all along. He should press charges and make her drown into financial compensation. It wouldn't heal the trauma but it would be justice served.
This is breakup and lawsuit territory. Anyone who is okay with this is insane. If it was the other way around, he would be single so fast and his family would have torn him a new one.
story 3: i dont see them as much of a jerk as the narrator makes them out to be. there was an agreement on splitting everything 50/50 from both parties. OPs GF did not bring it to his attention for what seems like a long time. instead of saying she wants to change their 50/50 agreement, she went straight to talking about a breakup. this narrator seems like he has some bias against "affluent" people. this story does remind me of an episode of friends where joey, rachel, and phoebe tell ross monica and chandler that they cant afford all the places they like to go out to.
For the first story I would say "What if you have a stutter? What if your kids stutter?" Because I would help that person to control their stutter
In the last story, they absolutely should not apologize. Apologies are meant to show you are actually sorry when you have wronged someone, not to appease someone that has wronged or disrespected you. If they apologize then he's just going to keep doing this because the mom has showed she won't stand up for them knowing he's100% at fault and would still try and make them apologize.

Story #5:
My friend's husband had this done to him by his wife's brother.
Ended up exposed in front of friends and family the monster that helped produce his children.
It was not a member.
It was a flesh baseball bat attached to him.
He was not amused, and to be frank, neither was his friends nor his step-family, while the brother was just bursting out in laughter.
His father-in-law looked at his son-in-law and told him "You can beat him up."
So he did.
First Story - I have a friend that stutters a lot, but I never make fun of him for it. I just accept it's something that he'll most likely have for the rest of his life.
As a girl who once had stutters once (once i mean i took lessons and healed it) i find the first story extremely relatable, i really miss my teacher, she was so nice
This is gonna be a long 1. I'm a cashier at a Wawa so I know how the cashier in the 1st story felt. I have severe ADHD, slight Autism, a lisp, somewhat studder, severe anxiety, PTSD, SPD, insomnia, short term memory, and a few other things alongside a lot of severe and undiagnosed medical issues. I've been fighting 14 years (I'm currently 17) to try and find answers and still do with the help of my mother. I work at Wawa so I sell the cigarettes and stuff like that because only the cashiers can grab the tobacco, cigarettes, cigarellos, etc. Because of my short term memory, I have a harder time remembering the brands and where they are etc. It doesn't help the store has the radio blasting so I have a harder time hearing. This little old lady came up 1 day and asked for cigarettes.
Me: "Hello ma'am, how may I help u?"
Her: "Hi. I need some cigarettes, *insert brand and type* (I think it was Newport or some stupid shit but idk) please"
Me: "Miss I can't hear u, can u please speak up?"
Her: *Repeats herself in the same low voice*
Me: "I'm sorry I still can't hear u, it's very hard for me to hear in here"
I was grabbing cigarettes and showing them to her as we were talking. Apparently I got it wrong 1 too many times because out of nowhere, she suddenly starts screaming bloody murder at me "*insert cigarette brand and type* SOMEBODY SHOULD'VE TAUGHT U HOW TO DO UR FUCKING JOB RIGHT. HOW FUCKING HARD IS IT TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST, SECOND, OR EVEN THIRD FUCKING TIME? LIKE HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO FUCKING SAY IT WHAT ARE U DEAF OR ARE U JUST NOT EVEN TRYING?!" along with all this other ignorant shit and insults. She went full blown Karen on me because she couldn't speak up even a little louder even though I asked her multiple times politely so I can hear her so I could've gotten it right. This was the day after I had just had my dog I had for 11 years put to sleep so I told my managers before I started my shift I might be a bit off because of that plus my medical and mental issues on top of that, both in which already make my daily life a difficult and painful struggle and they understood. Because of that, I was in no mood to deal with any of that and my anxiety couldn't handle it so I ended up having a mental breakdown. I didn't need any of that bullshit. I have medication for my stuff but none of it works, we're still trying to find what works for me and what's wrong with my medical as mentioned before. Once I did finally get it right because she yelled at me so I was actually able to hear her, she paid for her sandwich but not for the cigarettes and left with cigarettes in hand. I honestly didn't give a damn shit though I just wanted her out of my fucking face. So I called my manager up to the register and I am in full blown tears. She asked what was wrong and I explained to her and even told her that the lady left with the cigarettes but she said "Listen, it's ok, I understand ur going through a hard time and can't handle yourself right now. I appreciate u being honest and telling me even though I wouldn't have even noticed and ur not in trouble. It's not ur fault. Go to the break room and u can have as much time as u need to yourself to calm yourself down and stuff.". I was in that break room for a little more than an hour trying to calm myself because of the mental breakdown I was having, I'm not even kidding. And when I have mental breakdowns, because of how bad my medical issues are, they get even worse so even after I've stopped crying and stuff I still need to sit for a little longer so my heart rate can go down. Once I got back and apologized to my manager, who was covering for me at the register, she told me it was alright and she completely understood. She's pregnant so I felt even worse because up at those registers, there's no place to sit and take a break and I know pregnancy is a difficult thing. I've never been pregnant being I'm only 17 but I think it's still pretty obvious it's difficult to work and be pregnant at the same time. I can usually handle that kind of disrespect, even when my anxiety is high because it always is, but that was the wrong day for that to happen to me being like I previously mentioned, it was the day after my dog had just been put to sleep. On top of all of that, my step-brother's grandmother whom I was close with passed away on the 1st and the day before that, 1 of my puppies past away. So 3 deaths in pretty much 1 month. This story happened about 2 weeks ago, all this stuff happened last month in June. That whole mental breakdown in the middle of my shift could've possibly been avoided if she would have just spoke the fuck up even a little bit louder and yet, she wanted to act like it was my fault when the only thing I was trying to do was do my job but it's kinda hard to do that when u can't hear people and when u tell them to speak up politely they don't listen until they get mad because u keep getting something wring because u can't hear them no matter how many times u ask. I have more stories with bad experiences as a cashier too but that would make this even longer than it already is.
It's so hard for me to comprehend how anyone could put up with assholes of this magnitude long enough to exact petty revenge on them.
I've worked a couple of retail jobs for a few years, I've also done a shit load of shopping. I've only ever come close to encountering people like this a couple of times and I was completely incapable of biting my tongue.

Story 3- With very disparate wages, it can be better to open a joint account for bills, work out what the account would need then work out how much each would pay if they put in the same percentage of their wages. So 30% of your wages is a higher amount than 30% of hers, but you will still have more walk around money.
Story 4- You are being selfish. So you want your daughter to suffer for LIFE, instead of a few months recovering. Go and see a therapist again.

Story 1: Imagine being so much of an a-hole, you feel a need to pick on someone for having a speech impediment. I would get picked on horrendously because I mispronounced certain words when I was little. I couldn't pronounce the double consonant sound "TR" correctly. I'd pronounce it as "Shr..." (example: "shruck" instead of "truck"). It made me feel stupid. (I'm aware that it's different from having a stutter, but it still qualifies for the topic of getting bullied for having a speech impediment.)
Girlfriend who replaced trunks with prank trunk. I would have broken up with this girl because what she did crossed a line. Not only did she humiliate you, her family were making fun of you in the process, knowing how uncomfortable you were. You saw her true colour and need to tell her to hit the road. You can do so much better than her. I would dump her ass and tell her I never want to see her or her family ever again.
I agree it’s not like she packed an extra pair and told him right away or even a towel. Even that would be iffy but letting the poor guy go naked half the day and making a joke about him constantly there is nothing on earth that could keep me with a toxic person like that.

Story 6 is awful. If I was the OP and grown up, I would cut all ties with the father and step mother. What they did was terrible and I would have the same feelings as the brother who wishes death on the step mother.
Bro, all they did was try and get the kids a new mother figure so that they arent growing up with only a dad, as well as giving them a caring mother figure. Literally the only reason the kids dont like her is because “shEs RepLAciNg mOM” which is what a stepmother does! We have no proof she has done anything else wrong other than the adoption thing which, i admit, was pretty scummy of them. But they still have no other reason to hate Beth.

Story 1: as someone who had a lisp when I was younger I never got made fun of but being made fun of for having a lisp would be terrible never make fun of people with speech impediments.
I didn't think it was possible to change the birth mother in a birth certificate. I did some research and found that a birth certificate can be updated upon adoption but they can't remove the birth mother. The OP can request the original copy but they will likey have to wait till they are 18.

I don’t really think that the OP in story 3 and story 4 are the jerks. They’re just scared people who don’t want anything bad to happen they just want there loved ones to be happy and they don’t know what to do.
Story 3 is not a jerk it is not mandatory for her to come i personally have financial issues if my girlfriend goes on vacation and I can’t afford it I don’t go and they both have stated that they want to split the cost of everything 50/50 although he could have payed for one of her meals after hearing her bell growl I don’t know why she didn’t ask to go somewhere cheaper since she couldn’t afford although since he was her boyfriend he should have helped her

The story with the swim trunks feels like it is sexual assault/harassment. If this were a woman that happened to everyone would have been super upset. I say this as a woman and as one of those scary feminists. That double standard towards personal modesty is not okay. And violating his boundaries by forcing him to be naked in front of her family should be a deal breaker and honestly around here I’d blast her on social media as the callous predator she is. But I am in the US and this might be different in other countries.
20:25 you're dead wrong. An exchange of apologies is fair when both parties are in the wrong. He maid them wait, outside IN THE COLD for over half an hour. What are they supposed to do? Keep waiting for another half an hour based on what time they finally arrived? OP and their brother did nothing wrong here. They should not apologise and the step-father should learn a lesson about respect of other people's time and opinions. If he'd listened to them from the get go, they'd have made the first bus easily. This is all on the step-father.

He asked the girl more about the rewards and then started to ask a TON of questions the girl was quite happy to answer queries the jerk got held up for 5 mins and was embarresed in front of his kids
I’m not trying to be a jerk, but I can’t see both sides of the story with the mom that has the daughter with the medical issue not wanting her daughter to have a surgery only because I have some medical issues of my own I have and I’ve had a surgery that went wrong or one of my problems could’ve been fixed, but I lost most of my vision and actually almost went completely blind and I’m still struggling with vision issues to this day, so if I had a child with the same type of problems with some of the issues I have especially don’t want that caused me to lose my vision with the procedure. I have to say I could see the mothers point. I wouldn’t want my child going through what iPad 2 there was on. It was either gonna keep dealing with the problem and just have the normal procedure done to get it fixed or try to fix it permanently and because of that is what happened to me happened so I see the moms point.

With story 2 I disagree with everyone saying op the jerk.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the word affluent, but... Not realizing the gf couldn't afford 3 meals a day and instead thinking it's an eating disorder really makes the OP a clueless rich guy. Plus, pushing the blame on her saying she shouldn't have gone on the trip if she couldn't afford it really makes him a jerk. She took up an extra job in order to be able to afford the trip, but she didn't expect the family to spend the way they did even when they knew she doesn't even make half of what they make. And if by that point they'd always split things 50-50, all the more reason for the guy to help out his gf a bit because it should've shown him that she isn't in it for the money (working an extra job to be able to go on vacation with him should've been enough proof, let alone those years together). She probably was hungry and stressed out the whole trip while the guy's parents are calling her weird and all 3 of them being completely clueless, poor girl. I feel bad for her.

If their relationship from the start is 50/50, then holiday expenses should also be 50/50 it doesn't matter if OP earns 3x more than the GF isn't that what the feminists movement all about women been equal to men? If it was vice versa, everyone would have been blasting that OP is a brokie and find a way to make more money. In a healthy relationship, the GF would have asked OP to cover the holiday expenses, and she'll pay him back slowly afterwards with a contract made.

Lol. My ex said she wanted everything to be 50/50. We had two kids. She had an older daughter from a previous relationship. I made more money than she. Here's how that went.
I told her that I would pay for myself and half of each of our kids. She could pay got herself and half of each of our kids. Bit the oldest isn't ours, as she's not mine, so I won't be responsible for that one.
She threw a fit. I have no idea why. It's not my fault that the bio dad didn't pay child support. It's not my fault she never pushed the issue.
Splitting the bills was never mentioned again.
Honestly, splitting everything 50/50 us never a good idea in my opinion. And if that is going to happen then each party should be making decisions about where they are vacationing and eating. It's just rude to go out with family and not take the significant other because she or he can't afford it. Do something both of you can afford, or don't split the finances.
I think you are missing something here. If the trips/vacations/whatever are to the standard of the OP and his family(in terms of cost) there is no way that his GF can attend everything while still keeping it 50/50, which is why she didn't attend half of the outings.
The reason why the OP is a jerk just a bit is that it never even crossed his mind that people who make significantly less money would not have the disposable income he has.
The GF's communication skills are not great, or she felt pressured because of his family.
Either way the GF is kind of right, the way things are going now are not going to work out.

As I said in the original post that if the GF wanted to go but couldn't afford it, she could have just communicated with OP and make a contact that she'll pay him back slowly instead of being too prideful and took another job and still couldn't afford half of it and embarrassed herself.
Story 3: While I definitely agree OP is the jerk here, I object to your first reason. Affluent is a perfectly normal word, and judging someone by their vocabulary when you just 2 stories earlier were calling out someone for mocking speech impediments is kinda hypocritical.

I can relate to story number 5 because there’s this girl in my grade and she is incredibly rude. She’ll do very rude things to me and then when I get upset with her for it, she’ll try to humiliate me in front of my friends meanwhile, only like one or two of my friends are friends with her the rest of them or not because I only have friends that are girls because I can’t deal with boys and I am so happy it’s summer vacation and I do not have to deal with her anymore something she has done to me before is she has put food in my drink for lunch she has poured stuff on top of my food. She has destroyed my food. Made a soup out of my stuff while I was in the bathroom and once I put chocolate milk in her cucumbers, and she got so livid with me and all my friends agree with me that she is being so rude am i the jerk

Story 3, yes there are many problems with how OP was handling the situation; I'm more concerned, however, with the narrator's initial response. Stating that OP makes themselves "Sound like a rich snob", purely because they chose to use the word affluent.
Frankly, admonishing a person for the correct use of a word, and claiming it is some type of character flaw, to my mind makes the narrator sound like a jerk.
Yeah, I feel like you really shouldn't judge people for the words they use specifically. Some things require an actual voice, if he happened to say it in a way that sounded snobbish then okay, but we won't ever get that information.

Story 3: So I believe in 50/50. I think in this day and age it is probably the healthiest option in term of monetary contributions in a relationship.
With that said I do not see OP as a jerk. The gf did not make her plight known. That shows lack of communication. That is on her, not on him. Also, the GF should of not mentioned 50/50 if she felt there was a monetary issue. At some point, her failures are on her. She lacked communication skills and needed to speak up.
As for AITJ. What the heck is that list.

3) I disagree with the 2 year thing. If the relationship is 50/50 and she does not make me believe there is a monetary issue until it is too late then I aint spending sh*t on her. Why? Because that just promotes bad communication. Communicate concerns clearly and things will be good.

Story 3: “Yes, yes you are the jerk.” First time hearing that from these stories.
The hallmark of being entitled is that you are bad at the kind of math that puts you in someone else’s shoes.
The moment the girlfriend says, “I’m taking a second job to be able to spend time with your family” was the moment the OP became a jerk.
The only correct response is, “I make nearly 4 times what you make, I know we agreed on 50/50, but I’m planning a trip for “affluent people” with expensive meals and six different excursions, ‘What is your budget? I will cover your share beyond your budget. I love you. Don’t take on a second job. We don’t want you to be stressed about money leading up to this trip or while on it. The goal is to have fun and create memories that we can look back on for many years to come.”
At a bare minimum, the should have calculated their combined cost for him and his GF and split it by the ratio of their salaries. That actually closer to fair.

If my bathing suit would dissolve in a middle of a trip I would never go on. I would burst into tears, stop there and continue crying until I'm out of tears and then would choose to find a way to get back to the beach of departure hiding how I can. I would never see this person again. Would call everyone I can to explain what happened to me because of them and ruin their life. And would press charges!

I feel like I’ve heard that story before on a different channel and felt like it had a lot more details. But I do think she’s trying for pride or didn’t want to seem like a gold digger. However, I also don’t think the OP should’ve continued to let her pay. If I found out my SO was starving themselves because they didn’t have enough money, I would not let them pay for that vacation. It feels a bit weird that the guy is so calculating about his money.

The girlfriend story is a bit absurd. You and your family clearly massively out earn her pay for the crazy expensive family trips. Split dates and other outings that don't involve your family
2nd one made me madder and madder as the story kept going. You know she makes way less than you and you pick am expensive vacation that she gets a 2nd job to afford then go to only expensive activities and restaurants. If you where wondering why she is not eating or going out and even heard her stomach growling you are a scumbag for not insisting you pay you can defiantly afford it. It's perfectly normal and healthy for a 50/50 relationship to sometimes become 40/60 or 30/70 as long as both partners have their times of contributing more. To let someone starve who is desperately trying to cover expenses when you know you have enough to at least get them something to eat is cruel. I don't think he has to pay for everything but if his partner is struggling, he should at least insure that she has food. He definitely doesn't owe her money for souvenirs or tickets or anything, but if she's going hungry then he should help especially since it's obvious he has more than enough money for it. If you can't help your partner when they're in a time of need and you don't help them out despite having the means to, you're a jerk.

You need to get better stories. The other story teller has great stories with great conclusions and then every now and then you make a video with one good story and the rest seem like filler stories. It’s like you’re trying to pad the run time. You’re better than this. Your opinions may be funny at times but it’s not enough to make up the stories that lack substance.
Actually I won't return all my life. I used to have a store manager that would only put me on a register if he had a customer. That would be rude and hateful to all the customers all the other associates in the building. Then? He would put me on a register just because you knew. I was an a****** and I would literally get on the register because I was slow on the registers. And I would tell the customer I have 2 speeds slow and stop if you guess which one I'm in and you get strong. I'm going via the mode. I would go as normal speed as I would slow if there saw yelling at me and trying to be rude and hateful I would literally stop sit on. The other counter and put my legs across. I am 66 I weigh over 200 and about 80 pounds. You have a woman or a man about 58? Weighing about 1 21 40 looking at you yelling and screaming trust me. It aint gonna matter. There my soul mannered me on the other side of the building. Just laughing his a** off because hes the one who put me on the rev's shirt just because he doesn't p***** and then when they would. For the step mom story I agree with her slightly more than the kids because for one, there's nothing in the story that makes the step mom sound bad if anything the story makes her sound nice and caring, and I still slightly agree with the kids because it does feel like their mom was completely replaced, but they were overall hurtful, rude, and didn't even try to give an effort to care for the step mom, they were definitely the jerks but only by like a 60:40 ratio with the kids being 40.
If some random woman came into my life and demanded that we legally become her children and try and force us to view her as our mom and try to comepletly erase our actual mom I would be hateful too. The moment they forced the adoption was the moment they ruined any possible chance of an actual relationship with those kids and they absolutely deserve the shit that came afterwards.
@@atlasbread not really the only thing that made it seem like it was forced was the adoption everything else seemed to be just the kids being stubborn, which is still understandable after losing their mom and getting a new one in a couple of months, the dad really seemed happy with being with the step-mom and the kids are basically making him choose just because it was a little bit fast for them and it seemed like a lot, which is still decently understandable but not really agreeable for me
@@DaBakedToast Adoption is a MAJOR thing and especially to kids who recently lost their mother. To a child in that situation it basically feels like an attack on them since the father basically forced their mother out of their life with the forced adoption and removing her from the birth certificate. Forcing the adoption IS forcing a relationship, and I don't care how happy someone makes you feel, when you have children THEY are your priority until they are adults and pushing a relationship between them and your spouse hardly ends well. They lost the opportunity of a happy relationship when they went against their wishes involving the adoption. If the father had waited and let the Stepmother slowly get involved in the kids lives and after a few suggested (key word: SUGGESTED) adoption that would be a different story. But not only suggesting it, but forcing it, will only cause resentment and hatred.
