If it's anything like Perplexity, it will be a useful alternative. Perplexity is much better than using traditional Google search imo. Basically what its doing is aggregating all the relevant content for you automatically from what it finds from various sources based on your search query. With traditional search you have to visit each link source separately and find the content you want yourself. Perplexity and SearchGPT will strip out the exact relevant info you want and present it on the screen without even having to visit the source link. Its great for research. And considering SearchGPT is AI based, you can ask your search queries in natural language. Traditional search is basically just querying up keywords. Natural Language Processing knows exactly what you're trying to query and it doesn't have to be formated in any special way since the LLM that runs behind the scenes does all the guess work of trying to anayze your query.
Next up OPENAI will launch their own browser.
Google must be feeling the heat.
they've been feeling the heat from Perplexity.
Doubt it
Google is an idling company. They gained so much search market share early on that they just decided to chill for 15 years.
@@avarmauk idling company with 15% y/y revenue gain sure bud
@@carterlee2137 then you should learn how to read financial statements. It’s 3.5% which is what the rate of inflation is. Idling
will this be available around the same time as voice features? as in, no time soon
Isn’t voice feature already available? I seem to have it, unless I’m misunderstanding what you mean
Use PI ai in the meantime.
I use voice while I drive to work
Voice feature is available on the chat gpt app
@@avarmauk I meant the new voice features where it can detect emotion in your voice, and you can interrupt while its speaking. This was shown at a demo over a month ago, I think.
Bing AI has been using GPT to search. So how is this different?
Bing was using it as a chat feature not this new animal
Creating new War for google and OpenAI and prepexlity AI the market grow broader .
I miss Alta Vista.
Best image results bar none.
I’m guessing someone at CNBC has shares in Open AI. They seemed so excited about a search function. Keep hyping up that product.
In 2010 at WWDC Steve Jobs was PUSHED about whether they were jumping into search. Search is highly sought after field I guess, I doubt it has connections to that or runs that deep
OpenAI is a private company..
@@MRchapterfour08 you can still own equity in it
the tech industry is nothing but hype cycles
I was thinking he had shares an apple
How is this different than Bing?
Is this an ad?
Google’s search engine prioritized those paying high licensing SEO fees. Their search eng isn’t based simply on the quality or pertinence of the search results. I haven’t used Google’s search eng for a couple years.
Google search already offering similar search results. What’s new here?
That it could be better than Google?
@@Ferengi23 google uses similar transformer models with their AI search. With search the scale is your friend as every search result contributes to making future search experience better (search fly wheel). If we let this play out google’s advantage gets bigger and bigger. That’s why Satya was testifying in courts in google/Apple antitrust case. AI powered Bing has been trying the same thing for a year and a half and couldn’t move the needle.
@@Ferengi23 ye, maybe. Perplexity was so hot for a while too and everyone thought it would hurt GG deeply, but so far not much damage to them
Look up in Google what the AI said when somebody asked "how many rocks should I eat per day"
what's new is this is not from Google.
Perplexity is the best AI. You can choose between different models and get what you need.
How is this different from their original gpt service
Technically, it's not really different. It's mostly the presentation that is different, which makes dumb media think it's a whole new thing on itself, then they share with enthusiasm to lure investors.
It's a little bit worse but the name could attract certain demographic.
If it does what it’s supposed to
It will NOT hallucinate and fabricate random false info but instead cite you data along with source to it
@@bgyw After luring enough investors and boosting stock value, some co-founders will silently sell a little stock to buy real properties such as real estate. The value of those little stocks are tremendous due to being inflated. At some point, the company can just go bankrupt or be sold out. The co-founders will be already rich...
Basically, until GPT4o was released, CharGPT was providing result purely based on trained data which was a bit outdated and was never connected to the internet. Only with the introduction of GPT4o, they achieved this.
Not even close to Google, Search is not just adding AI, it is lot more complicated, not to mention the infrastructure that Google built through the past decades. With Microsoft's data center infrastructure, Bing has tried to challenge Google but apparently went no where, adding some AI capability won't do much better, as Google can easily add AI into its search engine and do much better and they actually already did it.
Seems like Perplexity with additional "feature" - vendor lockin when it comes to LLMs.
Basically this video is saying that don't use reusable rockets, because they are too complex and use single use ones instead.
He not aware that these frameworks are too general (so that it works for all use cases including the example).
What challenges does OpenAI face in competing with established search engines like Google?
Quite encouraging
I don’t see any benefits of using it as a google search. Especially since most google search’s give you an AI answer.
Google and YT search are unusable.
Why are you here ?
@@simonh2208 algorithm
because they want you to search twice or multiple times to get the actual result. And you know why. Profits. Ads. Looking good on paper as if people use your product a lot.
Good, Google search isn't what it use to be. Search results are mainly ads, now
RIP Perplexity
All these new unwanted tools that don’t help us get to what we want, actual AGI that will do stuff without any need for us to do any lifting
This is great news!
Decline of Google ?
Dont worry, Google will just buy them, rebrand, and raise prices for the service.
By who
Just another reason for Wall street to dump Mag 7
Has it got voice capability? 🎉
This is the best time. Finally, some competition. Google search needs to improve. They better start evolving
Perplexity ain’t great. It gets things wrong consistently and not the best source, somehow.
"fight, flight, fight".
Thathakayo. Thathakayo
Speaking of AI? Turn on a TV. When the Hell are people *not* talking about AI?
OpenAI will create their own currency.
I love Google having competition, they deserve it for making UA-cam full of pest ads
My team already have list of new products to launch based on searchGPT service.
Don't do everything profit oriented do something free of cost for the society later it will be helped by society like wikipedia
ai search is better for home assistants, for public use it's disastrous
Google will be history if they don't catch up soon.
Lol, please try to type wisely. There's nothing nor any AI that can behave like Google search engine.
OH? So they are going to out hype google to replace them? lol.
So I can ask your AI (which has cost millions) for an uber
Google will closed.
Just a race to the bottom
Google will likely integrate Gemini into their search engine
yes they already did and with Gemini being in-house tech, Google can integrate much faster and smoother, while MS bing has to integrate with SearchGPT, which is hard to tell, as bing' itself sucks to begin with.
dump google now!!!
999 per month😂
Bye bye google
"I'm in danger".. Google more likely
RIP Google
finally the monopoly of google is coming to an end.
Jesus can change yr life ❤
Google is done ..had a nice run
