CORRECTION* - Having now fitted multiple "name brand" handguards, it was this handguard that was out of spec, NOT the receiver.
Disclaimer; I'm not a gunsmith or an armourer. This is information I've pieced together over the past year from reference books, manuals etc.
This is an overview of the Kriss Defiance .22LR AR15 and a look at what's milspec (also compared to Tippmann Arms). - Навчання та стиль
I had a issue with the bolt guide plate. And it now has a slight kink in it . Straightened it, an it works. But I'd like to replace it .. contacted shield and communication is hit and miss ...still waiting! any idea where to source one ? Thanks

Interesting that you encountered a slight fitment issue with a milspec handguard swap. I swapped my Kriss Defiance DMK 22 handguard with a SCHMEISSER M-LOK AR15 (cannot be certain it was milspec mind) handguard from Brownells without issue. I was however surprised how easy it was to remove the Kriss 10/22 barrel when I finally got around to swapping out the standard muzzle device, it appears that you simply loosen two small grub screws from the barrel from inside the upper-receiver and then the barrel slides right out, simple. Not so for the standard muzzle device that was a right pain to remove.
I recently upgraded to a Midwest Industries handguard and it fit without issue. I think it may have been the handguard that was marginally out of spec. Never had a problem taking off the muzzle device though...
@@jabbott376 I had to completely remove the barrel and use a quality barrel vice clamp due to the amount of torque needed to remove the muzzle device on my rifle. I swapped the original muzzle brake that shipped with the Kriss for a TACTICAL SOLUTIONS, LLC X-RING/RUGER® 10/22® VARIANTS PERFORMANCE COMPENSATOR what muzzle device did you choose as a replacement?
@@badvoc do you own an AR15 upper vice clamp? They're really effective and allow for a lot of force to go through the barrel/receiver without cracking or breaking. I kept my muzzle device as standard - I've just removed it once in a blue moon to clean it. Clenzoil hinge jelly has proven a really good grease to avoid seizing issues.
Do you know if a Kriss Bolt is compatible with the Tippmann arms M4-22?
I assume not. The kriss bolt is self contained, whereas I believe the Tippmann runs on a buffer system. Based on those differences. I would assume that the barrel adaptor wouldn't be compatible. Also the Kriss has a bespoke adaptor that makes it compatible with 10-22 barrels, which I don't think the Tippmann does?
Sorry, not the most informed answer.
My Kriss Defiance mods to shoot 556 without any issues!

Is the lower milspec? will the lower just fit onto a standard AR 223 upper?
It will fit, but there's no buffer tube access. On the kriss, the rear of the lower receiver is solid where the buffer screws in.
@@jabbott376 ah yep righto I was under the impression the buffer tube it came with was solid and you could unscrew it and put a normal buffer tube in, but no thread at all or something?
@@Jesse25841 sorry, I meant the receiver body itself, where the buffer screws in, is solid. It has the thread (which I believe fit milspec buffer tubes), but there's no gap for a .223 bolt to pass through. The Kriss buffer tube isn't solid, but its walls are much thicker than a milspec tube, so you couldn't use it for .223 either.
@@jabbott376 so basically there’s no way to use the lower with a standard upper even if you change buffer tubes etc?
@@Jesse25841 you'd have to machine it and at that point you'd be better just buying a standard .223 and if you wanted dedicated .22 getting a CMMG upper or similar.
