Fun fact: Rocomamas is founded by the founders of Spur (a steak and ribs specialty joint) as their smash burger specialty joint. Wimpy on the other hand, has always been one of those old-school diners known for their cheap [all day] breakfast.
Rocomamas was acquired by Spur Corporation, Brian Altriche (who founded RM) was just a Spur franchise owner, not the founder of Spur

I'd go Steers, RocoMamas, Spur, Wimpy. But to be fair I always get the Steers burger with more than one patty. And it kind of depends on the location, whether whoever's at the grill knows what they're doing or you just end up with a grey brick.
South African here, ironically I would rate the total opposite, Steers 1st, Spur 2nd, I don't know how the RocoMamas taste, but I hate Wimpy food, so Wimpy 4th. Love your channel, keep posting pls!🥰
RocoMamas taste great, and there's a huge selection. But somehow I've found them a bit on the small side, so not ideal if you're a big guy, and hungry. But somehow you can't see that in the video. They look the same size as the others, so maybe they've changed. For the rest, I agree with you.
I totally agree! From my 2 times having Roco's, I've found their burgers large but less flavourful than Spur or Steers. Wimpy is the only one on the list I can actually say that I hate. Their meat just tastes like absolute sh*t.

You have to try the Steers fries with that amazing spice. And Spur fries and onion rings with pink sauce
Spur burgers are random and depend on where you get them. As a chain they're easily the best and worst I've had in how their quality changes between restaurant. For great burgers though you have to avoid the standard chains.

If it wasn’t mentioned, Wimpy is a SA classic from 1967… Still a go to for a quick breakfast or burger… Taste has remained the same… But all main fast foods a using processed patties, apart from Rocco’s..
For Steers I would recommend that you get some like the Original King Steers Burger. It’s much better and more moist

Fast food restuarants in south africa differ from each other, eventhough the same name each item is a little different like we got 2 Steers Burgers at the garage and the meat were a lot bigger and delicious!

Spur has the most ugliest, dry burgers. The quality is bad but they have great ribs and steak of course. I'm glad you guys tried all of these. Personally, I love Wimpy out of all of them.

Steers is king man, it's takeout where you can sit down, the other 3 are mostly sit down where you can take out. King Steer Burger when you go there next!

As a South African who has been in the USA, I can safely say, i had the best burgers in America. Unfortunately I can't say the same thing about their 🍟. I still find SA to have the best 🍟.

Rocomomas is Spur's luxury brand, so the burgers more gourmet. you could have replaced the Rocomomas with Mochachos
As a steers guy RocoMamas was some of the worst burgers I had, but after this video gotta try them again to doublecheck my take. You should've tried them with their chips, thats where steers & spur shine

Always wanted to know what was the whole Rocco Mamas hype about, tried it and boy oh boy was I disappointed. I've had way better beef patties. You should try other brands like Akhalwayas and Anat I bet you won't be disappointed

None of our fast food places are consistent, sometimes all of them are good depending on the location or any given day. Our craft burger joints are tons better. Out of the 4 Roco is the best and wimpy is the best diner burger if I had to choose

You guys need move away from the mainstream franchises and explore the family owned stores, thats where the absolute best in SA are.

@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE South Africa is steaming full of them, you throw a rock and you're hit at least 3 of them. I live in Durban, so the one's I know are Durban, but seriously, its very easy to find non-super franchise places all over South Africa.
Smoking Joes in Durban for example won 12th best burger in the world on Travel 7 with their Gypsy burger. Take a step out of mainstream way of life, part the veil and peer in, SA is busting at the scenes with authentic food scene.
Ask any Uber driver, or just go for a drive/walk if you can, challenge to see past all the big signs/billboard style advertising of 'known comforts' and you'll see just how you're surrounded by little gems everywhere.
Even a little google search, reconnainse, embracing the locals, and by local, I mean per/by suburb/even street. Amazing the little spots you find just by talking to people in the area, watching them.
An absolutely amazing place we found, for example, simply by following/watching where all the KFC, Spur, Wimpy, Nandos etc people were choosing to go for lunch themselves, and none of them went to mainstream.
Wimpy, Nandos, they are all 'proudly' South African, but still brand wise, they're international franchises, in both in how present themselves as well as how they are owned and run. Yum foods for example, are KFC and they manage many here. Famous Food Brands and Spur Corporation. You're not really trying alot of variety so far, so much as visiting places pretty much all owned by the same big 3 or 4 corporations who all have international platforms and influences now.
I think she needs to book an appointment at the ENT. I think she suffers from a sinus condition. Possibly requires surgery.
