I bought these after watching this video. They are worth buying. They are excellent, best way to time your device. Times three Surefire flash hiders and all three I only needed one washer and was really easy and way better than the ones that Surefire gives you
I put mine on a bolt between 2 fender washers in order from thinnest to fattest. I am not a Smith or Armorer so I only assemble every few years and it keeps them organized in my AR Tool Box
Excellent kit, I bought one about 3 years ago and I’ve only used 4-5 of them, but boy are they handy. Love the idea of how to organize them, I’ll be sure to grab a handful of empties and a couple 2x4s and make the same design. Thanks for the review and idea Chad 👍
I love those washers. When I'm messing around changing optics or irons I do a bore sight check with a Site Lite laser. It goes in the muzzle. This works with some muzzle devices and not with others. I was going through a few crush washers. These solve that. Find the right one and use it repeatedly.
The organizer has much style, but don't trip. If you need them a lot, a carrying case with a compartment for each. Either labelled on the outside or directly in the compartment with a label maker. If you got a lot to order it may even make sense to add a bar code or QR code to make an order or get a list ready. Is there a video where you show them in use and when you have to use the stacking ones?
I’ve always just took my stock muzzle washer and rubbed it on a stone to take a few thou off of it until the muzzle device was clocked correctly. But I guess these are nice
I'd like to hear your opinion on the single peice gas rings for the bolt. I had a 10.5" barrel upper that would eat regular gas rings up. The single peice one seems to be holding up.
QUESTION! I've used these successfully a few times, but also have had a few times where I couldn't get proper torque no matter which washer I used. For example, timing a muzzle device required 45+ ft-lb of torque and I wasn't even timed yet. I tried applying grease or oil like the instructions said but it made little difference. So I dropped down to the next sized washer and only could get about 10-15 ft-lb of torque before the muzzle device was timed. What am I doing wrong?
@@SchooloftheAmericanRifle aye, patiently standing by. That’s a pretty sick trap though. Sounds like most of the other comments are pretty similar with how to mod it.
First video of Chad’s without the SOTAR patch and or sticker there.
That's what happens when my Wife isn't helping me. I forget things like that. :)

Thanks for the product introduction, I'll be adding those to my parts boxes.
Ingenious idea - thanks for sharing.
Favorite part of this video "I don't have a lot of use for defective gun locks"
I’ve used these shim’s on both my AR 15 & 10 on curtain muzzle brakes. Great product.

Used those as well. VERY useful. For suppressors, I try to make sure to use as few as possible and rocksett the threads on the mount.
After the entire loop of them unwinds and hits the floor..i like the new solution!

I like that you can order replacements as you use them.
Always good data from SotAR!
This is brilliant!

Just what are these things for?
So are these 1 time use like a crush washer or no?
That is so cool! Once again “flexing” on us with some great ideas. Thank you!
That's very innovative! Great idea!
I have used these. They are very accurate.
Cool product, and a great organization idea.
Can these be used for suppressor use? Or do they suffer from the same issues causing misalignment with crush washers?
Definitely, the tolerances on these are very tight and they are not designed to conform like a crush washer is. Alignment is perfect.
The fact that's is OD green....puts it over the top!
Got the misaligned shim issue and great video and didn't have any idea they made nice shims like this.
You Sir are a Trex Ninja !
You may or may not have done this by now.... but if you write the degree under each stack, you can throw away or file away the chart.
Finally. So do you still need the crush washer with these or does the thickness include the washer thickness/function as well?
No crush washer needed. I've used these and they're very accurate as to the instructions.
No crush washer.
Awesome! Thanks you guys!
I found them about 2 years ago and started using them on all my builds I luv them . Why better that peel washer
Well done!
Fuckin brilliant.
👍
I'm to disorganized to find the time to get organized.

He doesn't like them. There is likely another issue causing your gas rings to fail quickly. What buffer spring are you using?
Also who manufactures your BCG?

15-20 ft# is optimal for accuracy. 15-20 requires rocksett to stay in place though.
I find that you can sand down a standard crush washer to get the correct timing. The most you'll have to sand down is .035 I use 400 grit wet & dry
Free pro tip: chamfer the inside edge of the washer, with a dremel, that sits against the barrel shoulder.
Yessss
Peel washers for me ... but I do like the concept, it's the price that's not so attractive ... thanks again Brother 👊
Still waiting on the retro build continuation... based on the chrono/snail trap... looks like it’s already been built
That not the 601 in this video. The 601 is still in a bim waiting for me to have time to do a video.

Jam nuts made everything else obsolete
Surprised UA-cam didnt flag this video for saying shim so many times
never throw away scrap wood 👍
you could make yourself a fixture or organizer for tools and it’s essentially free
