Hi there! I'm new to the channel but not to hacks. I use Oxi-Clean ($1.00 Tree version) & put a scoop of that into an empty Dawn bottle & fill it with hot water & shake it well. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes & shake it up again to make sure you have everything mixed together. Then I get 3 rags & 2 of them I get wet. First I squirt the Oxi-Clean liquid on the stain & gently scrub it around. Then I use the other wet rag to rinse it & the 3rd rag is used to pat out any extra liquid left behind. I use this for everything from ring around the collar, dirty sleeves, stains on clothes & the method for cleaning up spots on the carpet. My carpet is about the same color as yours & have never tried it on a colored carpet so I would try a test area in a closet before using on the stain. I have used this on colored clothes & to presoak nasty whites. This stuff does work & good luck 🤞!
With your carpet stain I suggest you try a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a 1/4 cup of water with a few drops of dishwashing detergent... spray on & leave for a few minutes. I've used it & it's been successful in getting a stain out of my carpet. Not sure what the stain was... it was too long ago to recall.
My dog played with the putty that I had bought to develop more strength in my hands-she got it all over the carpet. I read the using WD-40 on the putty and then following it up with a little carpet cleaner helped. Since the carpet was ruined with the putty, I had nothing to lose, and the WD-40 got up the putty!
I love the WD40 hacks and use them often but there are 2 things I've found it won't work on. Permanent ink on you fabric or mold on my sons favorite tshirt that he put in a plastic grocery bag because it was wet from getting pushed in the lake and shoved it under his bed for almost a year. My friend was visiting when I found the tshirt. She saturated a moldy spot on the shirt with cheap dollar tree hair spray and then scrubbed it by rubbing the spot against each other with her hands and it took it right out. I did the rest of the shirt then threw it in the washer and dryer and It looked good as new! (It was a bright yellow Tshirt)
Yes, but you will be back cleaning those headlights again eventually, it is only a temporary fix, but can last a long time. Headlight lenses fade due to the protective coating being removed due to lack of proper cleaning. Once they fade the only permanent fix is new lenses or whole new lights. Or just keep on with the WD 40.
Some fantastic advice back. A very expensive professional rug and carpet cleaner on yt showed how simple windex or even the Dollar Tree version will take out any stain. Always blot as u go along too, it does help, but he said he charges so much money, and merely uses windex. It may take him time and several tries, but he gets it out.
I have installed a force-field over my property using WD40 and whenever it rains, it automatically turns on. It keeps my house, front lawn, and back yard completely dry. Even my mailbox is dry and has never been more shiny! Thank you for your hackety hack!

The teal stain may be the backing of your carpet bleeding through. Strong solvents or chemicals used or spilled on your carpet will cause it. We had to have our carpet backing dyes removed professionally because I had used disinfectants where the puppy had accidents and the color bled through the first time I had it cleaned.
Andrea if you still have that carpet stain, which I think looks like some kind of ink, I have a weird solution you have to try! I purchased from Bed Bath & Beyond a product called: Folex Professional Carpet Spot Remover. I spilled Iodine on a light carpet, which was on the carpet for a week. It took only a few minutes to remove the stain. This stuff is amazing. Well worth the money.
You need to trim those fibers go to a spot on your carpet that you can’t see like under a sofa or a hutch. Trim some fibers from that area and glue them to the area that had the blue spots.
Most apartment complexes do this for burn marks in carpeting to hide the mark. They also charge the old tenant for new carpeting. It's always a great idea to ask for the carpet scraps left over after having new carpet installed.
My area stain or paint of acrylic is too large like the size of 1&a half pieces of bread….I can’t find hidden carpet pieces cut off for to glue it onto the hideous sight … I would need a whole cup and a half of fiber of carpet to hide that mess….

If you need to remove adhesives or stickers you don’t need to use any chemicals. Most people already own a hair dryer, just point the hair dryer on the label you need to remove and once the adhesive gel underneath is melting you can peel off whatever it is.
Hello Wisconsin Neighbor! This video is GREAT. WD40 stuff? Right up my alley. TY! I myself used it also on my windshield wipers. A hefty amount of WD40, wipe and wallah!
Along with the rubber of the windshields. WD 40 is a rust remover, not a lubrication oil. It can damage, rubber or small parts inside mechanisms, like locks, that many people use it for. That's because not everybody is a Chemist. I repeat, WD 40 eats rust, it's not a lubricant.
Hi Andrea. If it's ink and it looks like it is, use aerosol hair spray like 'Net' and see if that works. It works for fabric. Enjoyed your video. I subscribed. 💕
Removes tar spots off of a vehicle. Spray down the window guides in a car door to help slow windows from burning out window motors. One warning with the dawn soap and peroxide mix, be careful with dark colors. It might lighten up the color. Happened on a navy blue tshirt.
For water drops (calcium) just use bar keeper friend...make a past use A PAPER TOWEL ONLY..JUST HAVE a bit of muscle...wash in circle motion..BOOM gone. Shiny then...every time you use the sink...keep a small cloth...just wipe off the water and you dont ha e to do any of that..
WD40 was originally created for cleaning! That blue stain needed to be treated from its core, a little bit of it extracted using tweezers, so you could find out what it was made of and then use appropriate cleaning agent. But as you didn't and you used hydrogen peroxide, this should do its job without any rubbing because it works by chemical reaction. Be careful with undiluted hydrogen peroxide as could turn that area of carpet white and that would be irreversible. ☺️
I used WD40 on a Very nice Velour shirt that I dripped food grease on and soaked it , than put it in the washing machine (regular one) and believe it or not IT DID Come OUT ONE HUNDRED % with absolutely NO STAIN AT ALL. FANTASTIC 👍
Wd 40 is very flammable. It is a solvent. Solvent plus water creates more fumes. More fumes connect with tiny spark when the dial on the washer turns and switches cycles. Instant flash fire. Trust me, I had done this many times before, but one day there was just a bit more and burnt my house.
@@cindyd003 I am sorry for house fire. I hope you were able to save things. I've had a fire also. Started because of a faulty electric cord in my bedroom. I had fire in 1 room, but mostly smoke damage, then the fire department sprayed everything down. Even in rooms that weren't on fire. It was and remains devestastating to me. Even worn was nobody believed I didn't start it. It was a beautiful apartment, surely not worth me starting a fire over. Again, so sorry for your loss. 🙏🌝🌕 Vic
I use WD40 on my glass shower walls and the bathroom mirror as well. And, you can use eucalyptus oil to remove sticky residue from just about anything. Bonus... it doesn't smell like a mechanics😁
Highly recommend the Folex for carpets. Also the blue is probably from printer ink. My ex-husband (right?) used to refill his printer ink on the carpet and this stuff was dotted all over. Finally got most of it out. Get a newspaper or something!!!! Used much the same fix and worked pretty well.
I use a furnace polish called "Orange Glow" for most of these things and more. It smells so much better and does the same thing. For bathroom fixtures use "RainX" for cars, it also repells water. And for that carpet stain, us hydrogen peroxide, a damp white rag and a iron. Takes it right out. Spray hydrogen peroxide on the stain, lay the damp white rag over the stain, and then place to iron on top of it for a few seconds. Gone!
Thanks for these tips, Andrea. Please could you also tell us what nail polish you're wearing in this video as it is absolutely gorgeous? Thanks very much. Best wishes, Gi.

To make an outdoor mail box that uses a key open when the lock is frozen, first, bang the box to loosen frost. Then, insert the red straw in the keyhole. It should open. After opening, squirt the inside lock mechanism
A few decades ago, WD40 had a more volatile compound to it's chemistry and you could use it to give new life to worn electric motors in toys and also use as a "primer" or "starting fluid" in small lawn mower engines. :-)
For the blue stain … I got a whole quart of dried spilled paint out of carpet. I used goo gone spray, let it sit , little green carpet cleaner, lots of the water and suction, repeat. It took a few days , but good as new.
I am a professional painter I know this stuf….I gave up after trying to even paint it same color as the carpet, now I keep a piece of paper over it….it is right where you will see it, I use a tarp when painting and but us artists are so messy….. we get involved so deeply on a project and make one mess each year no matter how careful you are….
I'm thinking a bit of food coloring got onto the carpet somehow. I have used WD40 to take rust off the shower curtain rod; works beautifully. I also used it to shine up a car engine years ago. I took pride in keeping my cars as nice as possible.

Try a bit of Barbasol shave cream ... massage it in then set a towel and something heavy on the towel and wait for 24 hrs ... remove then shampoo up the stain ... I swear by it ... has saved so many expensive carpets this way 😊
Have you tried OxiClean on your blue rug stain? Put a paste of OxiClean and hot water on the stain and let it sit for a day. It is amazing. Also great for yellowish stained fabrics.
Be careful with oxiclean it will remove color from fabrics
Will give it a try.
Finally hack(s) I can actually use! I'm a
going to try the rug stain hack for permanent hair color that splashed on rug when the applicator bottle fell in it. Thank a bunch!!! 😃
Have fun!
One more use is if you have squeaking windshield wipers, get a old cloth spray it lightly with WD40 and wipe the wipers.
Squeak will begone.
Oh thank you! It's been raining lately and my squeaky wipers are driving me nutso!
@@sassyboy8979 rub a little WD40 on the rubber part of your wipers,, Thank You
My wipers drive me crazy doing that!! Thank you
Along with the rubber of the windshields. WD 40 is a rust remover, not a lubrication oil. It can damage, rubber or small parts inside mechanisms, like locks, that many people use it for. That's because not everybody is a Chemist. I repeat, WD 40 eats rust, it's not a lubricant.
Or you can just buy new ones....
I love WD40. I have used it for a long time. It works good on stainless steel appliances n glass top stove. Yes it does smell good. 👍
Hi Andrea. If it's ink and it looks like it is, use aerosol hair spray like 'Net' and see if that works. It works for fabric. Enjoyed your video. I subscribed. 💕
Wipe the rubber part of your windshield wipers with WD40 too. They'll last longer and won't make that weird noise when they're on the mist setting.
Removes tar spots off of a vehicle. Spray down the window guides in a car door to help slow windows from burning out window motors. One warning with the dawn soap and peroxide mix, be careful with dark colors. It might lighten up the color. Happened on a navy blue tshirt.
Great video! My son says "WD40 I put that sh*t on everything!" 😆
🤣good one
For water drops (calcium) just use bar keeper friend...make a past use A PAPER TOWEL ONLY..JUST HAVE a bit of muscle...wash in circle motion..BOOM gone. Shiny then...every time you use the sink...keep a small cloth...just wipe off the water and you dont ha e to do any of that..
Every time? Lol, no
WD40 was originally created for cleaning!
It was actually used to prevent rust on the outer skin of the Atlas rocket.
Thanks for the info.
You probably know about it but a great cleaner for soap scum rings in the tub is dryer sheets wet them and they work better than any other cleaners!
Also for clean grease of pans. I save all my old dryer sheets
If that blue spot on your carpet is ink, hair spray can remove that. Also can use hairspray on Garments that have ink stains on them
tried it on a sink stain and while it is not gone it is going away, worked like magic
Great nail polish!!! Beautiful!!
Try oven cleaner, I use oven cleaner even ony silk and Satin shirts if they have grease stains on them that won't come out. It works miracles
🙏🌝🌕 Vic
So helpful! I must get a new can, I’ll have it used up in a week! Thanks for all these ideas!👏🏻
And Fabuloso is surprisingly really great stuff! Mix it with peroxide or baking soda!!
I use WD40 on my glass shower walls and the bathroom mirror as well. And, you can use eucalyptus oil to remove sticky residue from just about anything. Bonus... it doesn't smell like a mechanics😁
Not a good idea to use that type of essential oils in your home if you have fur babies... VERY DANGEROUS TO THEM!!
now THAT"S a wedding ring
:O
Highly recommend the Folex for carpets. Also the blue is probably from printer ink. My ex-husband (right?) used to refill his printer ink on the carpet and this stuff was dotted all over. Finally got most of it out. Get a newspaper or something!!!! Used much the same fix and worked pretty well.
Oxi clean will make it disappear! My daughter dropped blue icing on white carpet and oxi clean got it right up.
Gone!
Try Oxi Clean spot remover for that blue spot.
Use orange glo instead it smells sooo much better but awesome results
The Holy Trinity - WD40, JB Weld, & Duct Tape. WD = Water Displacement.
Thanks for all the tips. BTW, You have such a Beautiful voice.
Use rubbing alcohol or Totally Awesome to get the blue stain out.
The blue dot looks like food coloring. My younger siblings put red and green coloring on our living room rug. It was stubborn like that to get out.
i did that but with yellow and it actually was a really FYRE
GOOD IDEAS THANK YOU
Gloves. And a well ventilated area.
I’m gonna guess Skittle. They dissolve when they get wet. I’ve had many of these stains.
Makes sense now. 👍
Oh yes it looks a thousand thousand percent better 🤗
My ex-husband sprayed his fishing reels generously (after he rinsed them off first with water). The W-D40 prevents rust.
He’s actually doing it because it’s a well known and illegal fish attractant which also pollutes the water.
Is that good or bad?
These are are awesome!! I never knew that WD40 could have so many uses around the house. Like your video!
Thanks for these tips, Andrea. Please could you also tell us what nail polish you're wearing in this video as it is absolutely gorgeous? Thanks very much. Best wishes, Gi.
It looks like Cran-tastic, I don’t recall the brand name but it’s a brilliant and fun colour!
@@Sorchia56 Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question; it's so kind of you. I'm sorry it has taken me a while to reply but I must have missed the e-mail informing me of a response. Thanks again and take care!🌷🥀🦋💕
@@gidelilah8027 I think its actually Zoya
To make an outdoor mail box that uses a key open when the lock is frozen, first, bang the box to loosen frost. Then, insert the red straw in the keyhole. It should open. After opening, squirt the inside lock mechanism
L❤️ve the counter top and omg your tub surround is absolutely gorgeous ‼️ I've never seen that colour before❣️
A few decades ago, WD40 had a more volatile compound to it's chemistry and you could use it to give new life to worn electric motors in toys and also use as a "primer" or "starting fluid" in small lawn mower engines. :-)
For the blue stain … I got a whole quart of dried spilled paint out of carpet. I used goo gone spray, let it sit , little green carpet cleaner, lots of the water and suction, repeat. It took a few days , but good as new.
Thats a miracle you could get that out!
Hydrogen peroxide can bleach fabrics and carpets-so always test on a small indescreet spot prior to using...
Like ur brother's bedspread
You could try vinegar and baking soda
i may or may not have tried that on my faucet...
try some mineral spirits on the blue stain.
Thank you for sharing this information with me.
I use a dishwasher detergent pod, put one in the tank let it dissolve, it cleans the inside of the tank and under the rim.
Acetone or nail polish has worked for some stains...especially nail polish or food coloring dye in carpet.
I know this sounds crazy. But lysol toilet bowl cleaner works great on stains. I've used it on clothes.
WD-40 works great for polishing plastic. Like the plastic on your HE washer.
You are brilliant!!! Love this and the shaving cream vid - thanks!!!
Spot Shot works great for carpets..
Or Resolve laundry cleaner or carpet cleaner
I'm thinking a bit of food coloring got onto the carpet somehow. I have used WD40 to take rust off the shower curtain rod; works beautifully. I also used it to shine up a car engine years ago. I took pride in keeping my cars as nice as possible.
The Dollar Tree sells L.A.Advantage Concentrate natural cleaner. Spray it on full strength and let it sit. Repeat if necessary.
Their pre treatment for stains in the Laundry is AMAZING and AWESOME! Gets out all 5he chocolate the first time! Even old stains!
Have you tried WD 49 on crazzed plastic headlite lens?? WOW!! Worth its weight in Gold!! What a difference. The plastic headlight lens gets cracked and pitted (crazzed) hazy can hardly see where your going at night!!!
