I had a game where someone had a Blade and it was awesome, soaking so much damage with his images. So next game I confidently picked Blade, took mirror image, and then the instance he uses it a Dryad abolished the image, making it rubbish. I don't know why the guy in the first game had images not being dispelled and tanking loads, but when I tried the image just got immediately abolished and destroyed.
Also Im pretty sure blade masters stats are considered for the images. Getting 2 khadgars gems early can help with the tankiness, as well as the amulet of evasion.
image good for dodging, invis to get into back line, ulti looks good but you are focused with it too much, better not start fight with it. Crit is also cool especially if you are getting dispelled hard and invis not so cool if you are near their tower too much. So you can go 1-2-3 actually and then depending on what they have then go either 1-1 or 2-2
If you want Blade to be tanky, he needs to have a bunch of gems of health, a ring of prot and evasion amulet as well as *only* leveling stats and image. Orb is optional but late game can be good because it causes 4 images to aggro heavy air units like chims or wyrms.
@@mewple Gems, contrary to stat items, don't seem to fully apply specifically in DS on images. Don't know why but I tested it in melee and there it works. MIght be a bug.
Few days ago i was playing vs BM and his nam was Grubby... i mean hero name not player name. Must have been some easter egg couse this Blade had ranged attacks and outranged all t1 units 😂 we went do draw 😂
GG! this game shows me how important AI manipulation is! 25:57 "back to the MMR hellhole" with lowest dmg by a substantial amount. "Grubby is runing direct strike". you could generalize this player with anything and you'd be probably right about 90% of the time
I had a disgusting lv 10 blade game: 3 boots, 1 gem of health, 1 evasion, 1 ring, and bone chimes. guy was drain tanking the full lategame army from behind while my army picked their way forward.
I feel like unit tier lists don't really work in this mode, since it's so heavilly dependant on counter building. If you have a heavy melee selection (mass Tauren + walkers for example) vs heavy air units, then spiders are a better pick than HH's because the web lets the melee units tear them to peices. And in some situations you want the rifles for their instant shot damage without projectile speed, and other situations the archers increased range makes them the best pick.. etc.
grubby have u figured out the army positioning strats? like putting your army a bit to the back so it doesn't go into tower, or even stacking with team mates etc. This could make an interesting video. Cant catch the streams usually but love your videos thanks!
Wouldn't it have made sense to buy endurance or unholy aura item early? Considering you kept stacking with firelord it would've allowed your armies to combine faster and keep more of their army alive.- also Blade's survivability probably makes him actually a decent aura user since he would keep the aura active for a long time - at least by melee hero standards
Gem of health didn't fully stack on illusions in DS when I tested it. Only half of the HP gets applied. It works in melee and dota so it must be a DS specific bug (feature?).

AI Dryds sometimes prioritize differently. Same as shamans purge the cast once, and continue auto attacks.

Same happened to me also. I think it is a bugged version of the map.
At my last Game my Blademaster spawned as a Blademaster called Grubby and had a very fast Range Attack

Kadgar gem plus mirror image is an old trick though. I think kadgar got nerfed because of it
