DH and Blade feel like entitled hollywood actors, they'll only work out in your comp if you make them the main character and invest massively in their lodging
21:55 i did worse, I double clicked to count my hunts then another thought came by since I noticed I had few seconds with a healthy gold pool so I did select my worker from hotkey 1 and then pressed build. This game I had forgotten to hotkey worker and buildings though 😢. Proceeded to sell my whole line of huntresses just before a spawn
Recently had a good DH game. 3rd position I made DH and two units. I was able to make two mine asap afterwards. Team mates complained bc it wasnt meta, but we stomped the game.
I think if it's ever the best decision to buy quell thalas, it must be optimal to keep buying such items. The next such item increases your army strength more than the first (whereas adding a unit always increases strength by the same constant amount). The reason the second helm of valor does more than the first, is that the agility benefits are greater because the previously added health now makes your increased DPS more relevant and this health now also gets multiplied by the armor the new item gives. The same goes for the new health the new item gives, there is more armor because of the previous item, so the effective HP gain is greater, and the previous item made the DPS greater, so the added health is now more relevant Also, the higher level your hero, the more items do. Suppose you can get either a knight or another boots of quell thalas. If you have a level 1 hero without items, a boots may not do much. But if you have a level 10 hero with 5 helms of valor, adding a boots of quell thalas multiplies an enormous health pool by some armor benefit, and adds damage to a unit that already has incredible attack speed, and multiplies incredible damage by an increase in attack speed benefit We should study Lancaster's laws
Sorry, that logic doesn't make much sense. That's like saying adding another unit does more than the last, because the last unit tanks for your increased DPS of your previous units. I understand your point but that applies to pretty much anything you can add to army strength. Items have diminishing returns
@@Octi00 it's tricky because there is a lack of clear terminology and things are ambiguous. Gloves of haste have diminishing returns in that the percentage of attack speed gained per glove diminishes for each new glove. But there is no diminishing return in increase in DPS by each glove, if I'm not mistaken
I think the most important part of the heroes will always be the ult. The aoe spell dmg ults are a win condition whereas ults like dh ult is just nice2have
Immolation tooltip reads every 0.5second but I doubt it does that actually (like kodo tooltip error), cos then ghould would die in like 2.5 seconds from it. Curious.
Ay brother grubby, I love watching whatever you play and it's a shame you don't play dota anymore. it was really epic and inspiring when you were climbing in dota ;)
DH is my favorite opening hero in direct strike. So fun. Btw I've actually killed 3 armies in a row with dh in Early mid game.... You split enemy army with a bit of garbage , sideline dh to get to backline all item stacked... And create an army with shadow orb). Then you repeat this for the next army....
@@Ronin3453 It depends. If you think he'll die, hp then armor. If not, then orb. You stack on HP after evasion lvl 2. But really, units are better hp/money ratio if you have them for taunt. Items are to deny enemy exp, so you balance items/units by how you expect the fights to go/what you can get away with
Rexxar campaign was one of my favourites, that's interesting that from the different perspective it can be found boring Is it another example for the point wc3 has many sides, and that's why it's so appealing?
Ditto! I loved the Rex campaign, it felt like a more cohesive adventure than the main game campaigns since you’re working off the same map, and I loved the overpowered weapons and story
I've had some success with DH. You have to snowball a bit, you are in trouble if you get behind, so no early 2nd mine or teching. Naturally he's best against foots and ghouls.
I feel like melee heroes are really good early if you can invest into early items. edit: also Grubby I haven't been back to the Netherlands in ages do they still do St. Maarten? Or has Halloween replaced it? Or is it the same double dip situation as with Christmas?
you mean to tell me he never made it to Blaze of glory? the PvE moba map? Cairne is naturally the strongest single lane hero, make sure blue towers cant attack misha, have misha move upstream and hold position, then resummon and repeat
i think you misunderstood something: WC3 is bought from Blizzard (it has been "upgraded" to reforged, but you can still select classic graphics). w3champions is a 3rd party tool. you can play DS on reforged or reforged+w3c. The latter can match you with other players automatically. Normal Game client (reforged) wants you to open a custom game and wait for players to join. also no MMR involved (afaik).
Not sure i understand the ring of regen pick. I do for actual melee but it looks useless in this mode. I think extra* boot is the better option personally
1:35 Grubby, no. It's never helpful to scream insults, nor is it understandable. I played with bad teammates to, know what's the proper response? Calmly suggest some strats to them, and if you still lose, take the loss with grace and honor. These people welching and crying cuz they lost at the game need to chill.
not worth it (financially). It's more beneficial to push for mid bonus and hold it. ROI is extremely late for fourth mine and you will get punished most of the time for going for it.
@@HejiNthe2nd Ah ok. that makes total sense. I'm guessing it's decreasing compensation per additional mine? or is there something like upkeep? Do you just make more money by pushing more units and upgrades and getting the bonus from passing midline.
I feel like fucking around like this is probably gonna piss off the old players again. I thought of a suggestion: We used to mark DOTA match types by naming the lobbies as "DOTA AP" or "DOTA ARAM" so you'd know what you were joining. Players could do this for Direct Strike, and name traditional games as "DIRECT STRIKE TRAD" and then players joining should know if they want to play in this game they have to play the meta
Please continue plaing WC3. I will not watch Direct Strike. I also checked the amount of viewers your videos here have and I would say you went down from 40-50k per video to 20-30k of viewers. PLEASE COME BACK TO WC3!

grubby demon voice is so accurate lmao
I feel like melee heroes in general just want early items (STR/DEX/HP/Armor/Vamp Aura) to take more of a "tanking" role in your composition.
