Appreciate there are some audio pings and crackles on this video. Audio sorted on newer videos, so thanks for your patience - I was very new to youtube when I did this! Love you brothers!
As someone who had played diablo 2 since original launch, I love that there is always something new to try even after all these years. Thanks for the content.
49:00 Yooo that's cool as heck I had no idea blood nests could be heroes. I'm glad you took the time to include it in your video, I love stuff like that.
goodness what a slog! Congrats on making it happen and letting us tag along! Really enjoyed the whole thing! And like someone else said - you stayed true to the challenge and didn't let an OP merc do the heavy lifting.
Dang you did AMAZING your really an entertaining commentaries! I was like how did i miss your videos/channel, looked at your history and was shockes this is your first video. Also absolutely loved the teeth chattering end GGs man well gained!
what in the holy hell. I click a video about Diablo 2, and I see a cinematic from Myth 2. Big salute to you for referencing that excellent but forgotten game.
Nice video man, I really liked the IRL footage at the end :) Grats for completing the challenge, it must have been insane! I have a full summon druid and even that can be tedious sometimes, with wolves, bear and merc...
As a diablo 2 n00b I would enjoy watching this exact style of video (not rushing, focused on details, stretched out, detailed) but with one of the better builds. And if it could be made challenging somehow that would also be great!
Yes bro!, Your approach to narration is actually decent and similar to how i present my stuff at work. Very light touch on the important things and only explain the niche scenarios with a few random puns which dont sound tryhard, the Lynx joke was top shelf lol. Less is more sometimes. Also, fantastic content and keep this stuff up. :D
In areas where bear walk a murderous flock of black birds follow. Fun run. I used to always rush the low levels through having them hide for the Diablos kill. 👍
This was truly excruciating to watch thank you for doing it. Yeah ravens are viable, albeit you're supposed to have the whole zoo out. With enough +skills and fully synergised your ravens will end up doing thousands of damage per peck, and your wolves and bear are no slouches either. But fair enough you're doing a challenge run for the content. Really nice to see those real life corvids at the end. Very poetic as you say.
The replayability is insane. I'm struggling to think of one decent challenge run for diablo 3 or 4, and even path of exile 2, but this game has so many as it was just crafted with such care. Pick it up and enjoy the journey!
Nice video and I particularly liked the end! Just so you know that your mic has some sort of intermittent crackle. No big deal but I thought you would want to know. Cheers
Yeah man, thought someone might mention this. When I connect headphones directly to the mic it buzzes (probably when i'm moving around), but have stopped plugging it in now so future videos it will be sorted. Thanks for holding out to the end despite it, appreciate it.
I love these challenge runs. Been playing D2 since pre LoD expansion so meta builds are not very interesting for me. I find these to be entertaining though :)
Maybe I misunderstood, but the belts did show up at Gheeds unless you were looking for a specific type. They show up a few times in your fast forward, just below the amulets and rings in the top right.
I don’t think it takes away from raven only to melee your first level up. It really isn’t any different than killing with a poison shrine since that isn’t a raven
@@prophetezekiel mine is pretty good so far but I'm aware of the general sentiment that it's not a top tier build. I want the bone boys however so I'm pushing through, fire ascendancy gets me a free minion that's pretty good so I'm not too disappointed. I do hope there's gonna be a more minion focus thing later though, I like my jolly squad
wow i did this same exact thing in resurrection beta, took it over to my original diablo 2 because of how curious i was and still ran it all the way to the end i love doing this kinda stuff. doing it in path of exile right now with just the basic skeleton warriors
Read the title and was trying to figure out how just killing blood raven until hell would even work .. what magnificent glitch you might use to get past the difficulty locks, how you would kill her at level 1 .. .. than I remembered that I never got into druid, especially not summoner / caster druid and that I completly forgot about that skill.. makes alot more sense.
Underrated comment! The only barrier with a lot of these runs is the farming, mainly for exp, but this run (compared to my current) had really good unique finding. My latest run has had such poor luck this raven run seems really lucky!
Not a lot. After the run I tried summoning everything: wolves are poor in all forms, bear is a good tank, but ravens are in fact the main dps (although I'm sure a merc would outshine them all).
Not sure it might work but i think running out of the door while Andariel was chasing. Closing the door before she exits and leaving her inside with crows helps :) Figured this often tackled mercs in good ol' d2:lod so why not weaponize it? :D
@@prophetezekiel Thanks for the info. The game looks interesting enough from what i managed to find about, so i will genuinely consider it. Now to hope that i : 1. can actually get my hands on it, and 2. get good enough at it to see it trough the end.
I do believe raven is the main damage dealer outside of having a merc when I tested after beating baal. The ravens do so much damage I still directed them to attack and left everything else to soak damage. Wolves were useless as they die so quickly but bear was good. Problem is all builds are good with epic equipment!
@@prophetezekiel Uh.. All you said was belts in the video so.. I just assumed you were missing them or something. Had you said 12 slot belts, I may have thought differently..
At 1:16:24, you said you needed stealth for the run/walk speed but changing it to a plate mail actually made you slower since heavy body armour has a higher speed penalty then the chain mail.
I guess so, which is annoying as I wanted to do a extra enemies mod but I'm worried it will be a bit pointless if half are background extras in the fight
I don't mean to sound critical, but for a run like this, how is the shrine killing your first level of enemies different from you doing it yourself? Just started watching and excited to see how the run turns out!
Maybe I'm mistaken, but +2 to wolf and also dire wolf should give +48% damage from the synergy Raven damage boosts? That's a great helm if that's the case, like +40 min/max damages? Hilarious 1st half commentary too, was laughing constantly. Might inspire me to make a Ravens-only character!
I learnt this after I've finished! Such a quirk of the class but so useful. I wouldn't start a raven only without some help from another char providing equipment, then it could be fun! Good luck
Music is a little loud in your mix and it’s kinda distracting, even though it’s arguably one of the best soundtracks ever created. Other than that fun video and challenge idea, pure raven with synergies is crazy, an idea I’ve had in the past but never had the time or mental instability to attempt it lol.
ALSO for the Druid summon tree ONLY soft points into synergies COUNT so that helm you got from Anya in normal would have applied the synergy bonus from dire and spirit wolf.
ALSO for your nightmare countess runs you got the spirit runes, grab a long, broad, or crystal sword from normal cows and cash in your larzuk quest for a spirit sword.
It’s kinda funny how some start skills are incredibly viable if you dump lots of points into them. The amazon’s magic arrow completely replaced my main attack and invalidated the need for arrows after I got it to level 15 or 16 because the mana cost to use it became zero. Though I still needed to have mana to use it at all, ask me how that makes sense, lol. Course, I am talking about the original game, not the remaster so they might have changed things. Too bad I’ll never find out, because that would mean supporting modern Acti/Blizz by buying the remaster and F-k that, lol.
The remaster is really lovingly made, and I did enjoy diablo 4 although it doesnt have the d2 replayability or charm at all. I'd recommend d2r although I'm with you on supporting new blizzard. I'm quite bummed about the warcraft 1 and 2 demaster.
@@prophetezekiel Maybe it’ll work as a challenge run, but to be fair, I didn’t do it as such, and it was back in the mid-2000’s, so I also played like an idiot, lol.
