to be honest. the sound effect sounds like they are from the 1980s.. new world had amazing sounds, they actually used real sounds for the muskets and parrys of swords etc. it sounded amazing. after that listening to these im like nah im not having it
@@Jackson-sr4fk Surely the point of a presentation is to present a good looking product,? This combined with the bloom effect did the exact opposite imo
it can be toggled I think, but it could provide an unfair advantage in PvP combat. This was seen in ARK when the players increased the brightness to see easily at night
No clue what "hype" you mean. There is no hype, only hope. Hope for a proper classic MMO like WoW Vanilla or DAoC. Not a ADHS korean pay2win MMO like ToL or Lost Ark. Not a action combat MMO like New World with 3-4 buttons to press, attack spam and mediocre PvE content. Asmon always complains about modern WoW is bloated and how he loves classic WoW... these dungeons where exactly WoW Vanilla and now it's 5/10. But I agree that FF14 is a different level of presentation.
Honestly these previews would be better if Steven wasn't always dicking around and missing half of the combat in favor of showing environments, which half of the people won't have a sufficient rig to render properly
Showing off the most flavorless environments too. My biggest issue with the game is the focus on systems has completely overshadowed anything having to do with overall flavor, style, or identity. You could say Ashes of Creation is like 3 other mmo releases and no one would bat an eye because they tend to look like Unreal Engine Game number 356, 386 and 401. Shouldn't they be bringing the actual identity of the game together more by now? Unless they really just plan for this to look like the most dry "MMO" looking game imaginable
The game assets look generic and need more style. I suspect they dial up the lighting, fog, and rays to make it look better; however, it's then hard to see what is happening. Need to be able to see what is happen easily for a MMO/co-op experience to work.
I mean, it's cool and all, but one point of feedback is the lack of visibility. During fights, you mostly see names and health bars, while everything else disappears in shiny VFX or fog. There are many times when you can pause, and without the names and health bars, you could barely tell if you're looking at an empty smoky field or 40 people fighting a dragon right in front of you
I know MMO players don't want the devs to "reinvent the wheel", but it feels like 2010 gameplay with a new coat of paint and by the time it releases it will feel even more outdated.
I think the "holy trinity" is perfect. More variety in classes and diversity in the roles which they can take would be great indeed, but you don't change what already works. Some examples could be Anna from overwatch and DAO tank-mage build. Dofus has a lot of innovation in roles which are quite fun too. What changes would you like to see exactly? Also you have to comprehend that if you regulary play video games and been doing so for more than a decade, many things are going to start to feel repetitive because you're going to unconsciously (or consciously) detect patterns.
the only mmos that really good and had the most success are the ones that has already established world, story, lore. You can't just drop people into the new world and expect them to stay. Think about it. All the mmos that are STILL playable today and still profitable are sequels to something that already been established before. Wow = warcraft, w2, w3. FF14 - ff 11. Final fantasy lore in general in previous games. Lord of the Rings online - books, movies, people love middle earth in general etc. Elders scrolls online - well that's obvious people love elders scrolls world, games. Lineage 2 - lineage 1. Star wars mmos even if they suck people still try them out because star wars. All the new mmos even if they are decent enough got shut down because people don't have deeper connection to the world they are dropped in. So, in my opinion first you have to create single player game with multiplayer features like warcraft 3, diablo etc. A game that is kinda simple, maybe top down rpg or something. Establish the world like in diablo, warcraft, final fantasy etc. And only then sell the idea - explore the world that we all been in love with since 2000, 2010, 2024 in a new way that never been seen before. Play with people's imagination. The only mmo that could reaaaally be successful is Diablo mmorpg. Because we only seen the world from top down perspective so mmo would hit different, similar to how warcraft world was established. We know what diablo world look like from above but not from 3rd person perspective and that sells to a lot of people. Maybe Game of Thrones mmo could work also but it should be pvp focused a lot.
If a player gets hit from that tail swipe, they should go flying in the air taking hit and fall damage. The dragon needs some more interesting player dynamics.
well tbh right now they are not generating much money while also spending a ton of money at the same time. The game isn't formally out (although you need to pay to play the current build right now if you want), so they aren't making release money yet
Look at the Shatterer from GW2 for an open world dragon boss done right - pre fight you prepare the siege equipment and then this massive crackling lightning dragon slams down onto the ground and starts fucking your shit up... its epic (its old too and still looks sick)
Done right? No. But is it cool looking? Yes. There are mechanics to the fight, but most people just stand in one spot and auto attack. Now the dragon meta fight on the islands at the end of HoT is what's done right.
@@williamwayne4043 Graphic wise reminds me Black desert which is almost 10 year old and got ported to mobile in meantime May be also effect of unreal5 games because they all look the same with light and ambience
As the Devouring Flame, a great/terrible mechanic (depending on the skill of your group) could be that any player health lost to fire damage would be absorbed by the dragon to heal itself.
I think this is the good foundation of an idea but would probably make it too tough? Unless there are i-frame mechanics everyone has access to. Perhaps to build on this, getting hit by it's fire would mark you, these marks would build up X number of times and then the dragon uses a large aoe below 50% health that "activates" the marks, resulting in a debuff (to the player) and health % restored per mark.
needs to be this way for clarity. you use the circle on its bottom with the arrow to see its exact rotation so you can dodge its skills and attacks. in mmos like this it would be horrible for combat clarity to have smooth rotations which went against the attacks directions. far from outdated, but most likely only something you understand if you play much wow/ffxiv or something like that
At 56:22 when Asmongold describes about this specific mechanic, it really reminds me of when I played Vindictus KR around the year 2013, you were able to use the surrounding ballista and catapults to bring down the raid dragon from midair to ground and pinning and everyone would rush there to deal huge damage if done successfully. Heck, there was the Ice Dragon you fight in this giant ice cave and when you use Karok and you time the grab/parry skill when the dragon is about to sweep someone, you get the one to one standoff holding the dragon with your bare hands to the mouth or horn was it while letting others do big massive damage...
When he draws in Adds Flame and Devours, he should then create a “Fire Spirit Bomb” in front of him that requires Healer throughput and or Layering of Defensives. Visually would be frightening and damage that does excessive heat ticking DoT and then a final boom explosion would be so visually rewarding for an open world dragon
For someone who's supposedly a MMO vet, Steven really seems clueless on what MMO players find interesting Bro just wonders off mid fight and is like, "hey look there's green goo on the ground!"
I feel like they were trying to make it interesting by making it this twofold concept of agroup goes in an gets an egg and then suddenly a bigger encounter occurs however in execution in a RL setting it would be harder to setup because it only works because they know about it. It also kills the tension when you have this dragon appear and it does nothing, patiently waiting for you to attack before they attack even though they came down in an aggressive manner. I'm thinking like if someone saw this for the first time, and they tried to fight it and were quickly outclassed, how would they react? It might be something like "all that work and now we have to start over because we died and we need more people." So then the question is, how can you design this encounter where you can get randos to join in and help. So I would say similar to how FATEs in XI work but with more organization needed. So basically I think something neat that could work is understanding that what the dragon wants is the egg, so you have two options. You fight it head on or You run away. At it's core the mechanics of the boss would be focus on tank if there is enmity but there would be specific actions where it targets the one with the egg. If the one holding the egg does die then potentially a free for all to grab it and then that person becomes the Dragon's target, if say the person D/Cs, then the egg would fall in the location where they d/ced for someone else to claim. But basically the secondary objective could be something like bringing this egg to X person for a reward and upon bringing it to that location there could be a group of militia ready to fend off the dragon and maybe a barrier that prevents the dragon from proceeding so they retreat. So in a sense you give this event the opportunity to have 2 ways of getting a rewards, you can either try to go for everything and die trying, or you bring the egg to a location and get that reward. Maybe to make it more interesting, the moment you get the egg you are on a timer before it hatches so if it hatches then the dragon wins and the child would just run away but if you turn it in then you win but basically it would be this thing where there are 4 options. Option 1:Beat Dragon and bring egg to X person Option 2: Run away from Dragon and bring egg to X person Option 3:Egg hatches and returns to Dragon and Dragon flies off Option 4: Defeat Dragon but Egg hatches and you are unable to complete the 2nd objective. I just feel dynamic options like this could make it interesting because then you could make this Dragon challenge a challenge where maybe the first time when you have 8 people there isn't a way you are going to win but you can at least complete your secondary objective and get a reward so even if you don't fell the dragon you can still obtain a reward.
@@dnbjedi so what kind of experience you could ever earn from this dragon so called boss fight? it has no phases, no special attacks, noone gets 1 shot dmges while they are not bracing and dodging. Keep dying and fight back till target eventually dies kind of experience.
Every game that has a story has lore before the game is a released game? How else are they supposed to built it around a plot with specific locations, items, etc?
@@LunarSky07 Lore is not always established prior to the creation of a game. For instance, Dark Souls is a game that is not part of a large original IP, yet it is renowned for its rich lore. Discussing the specifics of lore before a game's release is often futile, as the lore may evolve during the game's development, rendering early discussions somewhat pointless.
@@OLBarbok tell me when you saw dark souls in the alpha phase to know there was no lore being developed? You don’t typically have this kind of access to games this early to even know that.
if the story is sh*t then yeah it will be like new world. but so far it seems like it will have a very good story in the game and actually looks like an MMO like world of warcraft.
If I have to judge the game from this fight, I would say it's heading in a terrible direction. This beat the meat content is the bane of any new MMO. They are late only by a few decade.
By beat the meat, do you mean combat that’s more or less target and press skills? As opposed to say something where all weapons and skills and attacks have modeled hitboxes? i.e., there’s an element of “if you are good, you can kill anything” vs “if you don’t have the stats, no matter how good you are, you can’t kill it”
I frankly think they should add more melee attacks to the dragon. Tail slams and wing smacks. Otherwise, for a boss doesn't look bad. My experience is from ElderScrolls Online, so if I had to compare... It seems like a rather short trial. I am sure they could add more content to the raid to make it last longer, but as for the Firebrand battle? Not too bad.
@@Mochimatchamocha I mean having bosses with stupid amount of health, that doesn't really do anything and just waiting to get killed. This boss had like 3 abilities, none of them are impactful in any way. It should be either big almost cinematic fights like in GW2 or tight moment to moment gameplay like in FFXIV. They are trying to make this game too similar to old MMOs, instead of thinking what should be the future. For open world I do think GW2 is superior to everything else and every new game should copy that.
Fight with dragon should have ballista on top of the tower and when dragon goes up players needs to collect special types of rocks and woods from the area for balista ammunition at the same time dragon’s breath should be very powerful while he is in the air so the players collecting materials should avoid flames as much as they can. And healers should try their best to help with healing’s.
Having "spectacles" in games that everyone else also witnesses even if it's low level is actually really awesome. I remember playing fiesta online (a p2w anime mmo) but it had tons of those spectacles in game which made me like the game a lot. For example, you are a normal squire with a level cap of 20 and at level 20 you had to do a solo job change quest to be a warrior. That quest was actually hard to do if you only had normal gear, that's why everyone spammed the first lvl 15 dungeon to get better gear which already formed a little community. When you succeeded with the job change quest the whole server got announced that you succeeded. This moment created a lot of hype for me for all the other content this game might have to offer, so yeah having a low level spectacle like this was actually really awesome. That being said, it is only awesome at the start of the game when you are amongst the first people to do it, later on nobody paid attention to it anymore.
WoW is my favorite MMO of all time, while GW2 is my most played secondary MMO. In saying this, no other MMO can compare to GW2 in terms of large scale spectacle fights. Throne and Liberty is looking promising, wonder why? It's by NCSOFT as-well.
i know its just showcase.. but it would be nice if the mobs were not just static targets.. like theres a fight in front of them, literal 10m in front of them and no action.. also they just stand on spot like what kind of magical castle has monsters that stand in one spot and wait for hero to approach to length of blade.. point of monsters is not to be slain they should have a purpose in the place... after 30 years of constant development within singleplayer space of the enemy AI , this just feels soo wierd and "lame" in a sense.. hopefule they will give the mobs some life or ai. 😞 Within the same topic.. why are fire mobs in green casle full of grass and water, would make more sense to have just some skeletons or something.. this looks wierd dragon standing and doing nothing for 30min is wierd.. make hime walk around or sleep or something, why is the dragon there? is it angry? is it there for the egg? like there should be some reaction.. this seriously feels like first wow 😞

FF14 has something like that in the Bozja area. After certain group raid bosses occasionally one player gets the opportunity to do a solo raid boss while others can watch. There isn't any special loot or anything like that though. Just extra experience.
I really like the idea of having minigames (like collecting ammo and shooting ballista) that if you pull it off you start the next phase of the fight with the boss at lower HP or with some other kind of advantage (fewer resistances, etc).
it would be cool if a group of 5 or 8 have to stay behind to shoot that huge arrow at the dragon at certain times. That group will get ambushed constantly because the mobs want to destroy that equipment
Very rarely do I leave a comment and, perhaps I'm simply running out of copium, but from all I see nothing astounding is being done here that has not been done before. Action and combat still feels decades behind what GW2 has been doing right for almost 10 years. Even WoW with it's cartoonish style seems to offer a more pleasant feedback and attack / combat animation experience. Somehow the graphics also seem to appeal less and less as time pushes on. The hype was real but as of now... I just don't see it happening in a profitable time window. Maybe. I'm wrong, only time will tell. Again just my frank opinion
this game is a worse version of some random cheap Chinese MMORPG in 2014-2015 era.... i don't think it gets anywhere near level of impressive, ........ generic yes
these devs are talking about how great the animations and effects are like they didn't see the same or better back in World of Warcraft in 2004... LOOL
Funfact : in "Real Life" like Fourty People wouldn't be able to do jackshite to such a huge, scaly/tough Dragon at all. He would plow through them like hot Water through Snow.
24:02 Dragon Age Inquisition and Skyrim had more cinematic dragon entrances and those games released before this game was even conceived. Also it looks like you can either run away from it or zerg it down with infinite people.
No dragon would land and turn around on the ground, that was so fu**ing awkward. It would make a turn in the air and then land directly into the middle of the enemies with a bang.
That is probably the one thing I want the most, for mobs to act in a way that makes sense. Yes that means going after spell casters in the back, make the tank protect them.
hello my dear. i make respect four youre branes. but dragon no realitee. this story four child maybe one thousand old. very very very important four read the book four improve and become xcelent humanitarian. no good four only play the game my sweet.

I was thinking the same exact thing when watching this. It's funny how the GMSteven guy praised the "animator" but it's awful. It's like fighting a statue. Too rigid. Especially the wings are also rigid. Again, very much like a statue.

them trying to be hyping up and being all excited about a pretty generic bossfight about an even more generic dragon feels so weird to me man honestly to me this does not look very exciting, hopefully yet just as a reminder we are looking at almost 8 years of development
ESO had this exact fight as an overland event in just one of their dlc's. For those that played, the dragons in Elsweyr that flew around and landed on select spots. Not even a raid, and those fights seemed more difficult then this.
the first half of the fight, the water could put out a burn effect he applies to players so they can fight in the water for an advantage. Then at some point you do a transition where he heats up the water, ramping up damage per second on players in the water, until he finally evaporates all of the water in the arena.
Why there has never been a good dragon fight in a game. A fire breathing dragon requires a ton of fire, heat, and smoke effects. A flying dragon is horrifying. Because when a dragon strafes a person, that person is gonna get pulled into the air along with the dragon. When it hovers people undeath the wings would get pushed into the ground. These dragons a typically shooting a liquid fuel which would spread like crazy with all the strong air currents/winds being created by a dragon flying. It needs to stomp, grab, bite, swipe, and push people with its body when attacked/attacking. With the thick hide/scales, fighting it would require you to essentially wound a section then attack that open section to deal damage. And for the love of god stop making dragons stand still while taking damage, no creature would do that. Edit: Elaboration Every dragons fight has always felt like a gimped dragon, to the point where it like I'm fighting a different creature. Dragons are terrifying and can do a lot of stuff. And that requires compute power. This is realistically a tech issue. An immersive dragon fight either needs lots of game physics for the many many effects which hits hardware hard, or a ton of animations and ability interactions which will take a lot of time and still be hard on performance. It's a big endeavor for a dev team to focus on when it's often a single aspect of an entire game, and would run poorly on most hardware. A single player game with separate map for the fight is certainly the best bet; and lower res/poly art style could certainly get performance to where more gamers could play it. I think we are approaching an intersection of hardware and engine workflow where an immersive feeling dragon fight is possible to run smoothly for more than a small percentage of gamers. And when a dev team does do it you'll see something that's looks like it's taken aspects of almost every dragon fight seen in gaming already and put it into one immersive spectacle of a fight. And it's gonna be fucking awesome.
It is actually a pretty cleaver way to test a game. People that pay $120 are likely highly supportive of the game. Thus they will write better bug reports and give constructive criticism to the team. They also don't care so much about the cost as they see it as a donation.
When the dragon gets to 10% HP, they should add a mechanic where the players use some item they collect in the raid to chain the dragon down so he can't fly away. It's kinda awkward that a lizard would just stay there to die when he can fly off into the sunset. Or they need to cut off one of his wings before they get to 10% or he flies away
Just my opinion but they said its a young adult dragon, insinuating older more powerful dragons(not to mention different types of dragons) later in the game. Which makes me really okay with this encounter, since its probably just a taste of future fights and and memorable enough to stay in your mind for other encounters, i think its fine that its not super flashy
The devs all sound like theyre just done with it, no enthusiasm no nothing when they talk about it. All we get is "yeh its great" or "wow amazing" And the game looks generic as fruck, like new world with a shittier UI. This game will fail.
@@R3dCol0r precisely, they just sound lifeless. i think Steven knows deep down that his game isn't amazing, let alone "great". It looks too simple and lifeless, no style to it at all. For an upcoming *brand new* mmo it REALLY should have a distinct style to it, but it sadly does not.
I think they have to re think the idea of pulling mobs because after 14 years its getting old. They need to rethink the MMORPG Raid, we have seen the same thing in wow,ff14,gw2 etc etc it is time for something new. Maybe the dragon does a nuclear explosion level fireball and the whole raid has to jump into the water to save themselves maybe when they come back up the map is changed the whole thing is burnt. Something has to change because we have all played this in wow.
The character's rotation should not be static, there should be an animation where he looks in the direction of the mouse and starts to rotate. even Wow has this
Okay. Here's my problem with this. And as to why to me it looked quite boring and ordinary (for me at least). The boss has only ONE mechanic. When it spawns multiple mobs you gotta kill them or it absorbs them and gets enraged. That's a mechanic (although quite a simple classic one, nothing too crazy, which is fine, but it's the ONLY mechanic). The other "mechanics" are just it's normal attacks. They're attacks, not mechanics. I understand the game being in alpha and there's so much left work to be done, but I sincerely hope bosses will have more REAL mechanics. Otherwise it just feels like a mass of HP you gotta attack and tank. Some mechanics could be I don't know, it swings its wings which sends every players close to each other (and they're stuck there somehow) and the dragon prepares a huge special fire breath and the tanks need to get in front to prepare to tank it and protect the other players, they could need a special antifire shield which would block the fire (runescape ref yo), and they needed to craft it while doing the dungeon to be able to tank it. The fire breath could last a whole 30 or even 60 seconds or something. In that time, healers will need to heal the tanks, and dps players could need to protect the healers as they are getting attacked by mobs coming to them. Something like that. I saw there's some water puddles arounds. At some point the boss could make the entire ground covered in fire and everyone would need to stand in the water or they take heavy burn damage. Meanwhile the enchanters/healers or whatever support classes, need to synchronize themselves and do something to cleanse that fire from the ground. some kind of invocation or special spell using some kind of artifact gathered in the dungeon or something? who knows. Stuff like that. And imo, stuff from the dungeon that is needed or that it influences the boss fight is such a good thing to have. There's so much you can do to make to fight more interesting. You NEED big epic moments, mechanics and attacks like that for it to be interesting. I really hope their bosses will have those. And needs to have multiple ones for a single boss. Again, maybe they are planning for stuff like that and it's just because they're still in alpha, i hope that's the case.
For what this game is trying to be and the audience they initially marketed towards, another raid group should've showed up when the dragon was like 10% HP and PKd them all then steal the raid. Or a solo healer from an enemy guild running up and using %-based heal on the dragon before dying, buying time for his guild to show up and pk everyone. Or a small group of archers harassing the healers from afar while their main force is on the way. etc etc.

Here's what this fight needs. The dragon should be able to cast spells while attacking mainly fire spells like a wall of fire to separate players, Meteors to scatter them, and more pools of fire to keep them from sitting in one spot for too long. However, so nice it's a DRAGON it should also know non-fire spells. These would do significantly less DMG in exchange for utility such as an AOE ice atk that freezes any player it hits causing unfrozen players to go and break the ice, or a layer of stone to protect itself where it would take no DMG but gain a stagger bar, which after breaking leaves it vulnerable for a short time, perhaps it could put down lightning traps that stun anyone who steps on them, or even when it gets critically low hp it creates an arena of flames, trapping every player and shrouds said arena in darkness so the players can only see the walls of flame while it prepares an "ultimate" atk. Now players have the choice of running away through the flames and taking massive DMG or sticking together and waiting for the dragon to show where it is and they'll have to burst it down or practically get wiped with only the tankiest of them surviving. That would be a truly spectacular fight. It would force players to pay attention to where they are at all times as well as know how to maximize they're DMG.
Looks kinda one dimensional. Like the "raid boss" just looked like a big HP bar, sorta like a world boss? And just generally the UI, spell effects. Just everything about it looks dated and boring. It's telling when I find myself skipping through the video before I'm even 2min in.
I'm glad the fire effects look like fire, rather than a digital hologram of fire. I think fire was closer to looking like fire in isometric games of the late 90s and early 2000s until now.
it's a little soft to say it's generic. It failed to impress me tbh, it does nothing better than other existing MMORPG for being "a new MMO". i don't find any reason to play it over others, maybe you already seen why.

100%.
perfect! 2010 gameplay is a lot better than the shit show they have now in MMOs!!
my thoughts exactly, not really sure what the next big mmo format will be tho

As the Devouring Flame, a great/terrible mechanic (depending on the skill of your group) could be that any player health lost to fire damage would be absorbed by the dragon to heal itself.
Apply as a game design dev, you clearly know how to build a boss fight better than their whole team, I am not joking.

Visually would be frightening and damage that does excessive heat ticking DoT and then a final boom explosion would be so visually rewarding for an open world dragon

a Raid? its more like a dynamic event on a map with not very dynamic and non-phase generic boss.
Option 1:Beat Dragon and bring egg to X person
Option 2: Run away from Dragon and bring egg to X person
Option 3:Egg hatches and returns to Dragon and Dragon flies off
Option 4: Defeat Dragon but Egg hatches and you are unable to complete the 2nd objective.
I just feel dynamic options like this could make it interesting because then you could make this Dragon challenge a challenge where maybe the first time when you have 8 people there isn't a way you are going to win but you can at least complete your secondary objective and get a reward so even if you don't fell the dragon you can still obtain a reward.

It is a game....
@@LunarSky07 Lore is not always established prior to the creation of a game. For instance, Dark Souls is a game that is not part of a large original IP, yet it is renowned for its rich lore. @@barrywhite1770 That would be just annoying af after the novelty of it wore off 100%
By beat the meat, do you mean combat that’s more or less target and press skills?
For open world I do think GW2 is superior to everything else and every new game should copy that.
Hopefully this releases before the next cataclysm takes us back to stone age.

ESO had this exact fight as an overland event in just one of their dlc's. For those that played, the dragons in Elsweyr that flew around and landed on select spots. Not even a raid, and those fights seemed more difficult then this.
and ESO came out in 2014, still better than this game
the first half of the fight, the water could put out a burn effect he applies to players so they can fight in the water for an advantage.
Edit: Elaboration
Every dragons fight has always felt like a gimped dragon, to the point where it like I'm fighting a different creature.
You clearly haven't played many games then, cause there are a lot of great games with great dragon fights.

Which will be first?
1) this games release
2) my crypto zoo egg hatches
3) the return of blockbuster
Gta 6 probably
The devs all sound like theyre just done with it, no enthusiasm no nothing when they talk about it.
All we get is "yeh its great" or "wow amazing"
And the game looks generic as fruck, like new world with a shittier UI.
This game will fail.
I agree...it's starting to look super dated and it hasn't even released yet, and they're gonna cry when it fails
It reminds me of that recent D4 talk they did and the one dev was constantly saying how unique everything was... 🤦♂
It wont fail but it will probably have 100k max pop and 5k players max after a year. Those alpha/beta testers will support no matter what.
Coming soon in 2034
2034 that's just beta 1 lol
Always these optimists being delusional
only the first dragon raid
I think they have to re think the idea of pulling mobs because after 14 years its getting old. They need to rethink the MMORPG Raid, we have seen the same thing in wow,ff14,gw2 etc etc it is time for something new. Maybe the dragon does a nuclear explosion level fireball and the whole raid has to jump into the water to save themselves maybe when they come back up the map is changed the whole thing is burnt. Something has to change because we have all played this in wow.
The character's rotation should not be static, there should be an animation where he looks in the direction of the mouse and starts to rotate. even Wow has this
Looks like a game from 2010
it looks more like game from 2014, and looks cheaper than a random Chinese MMORPG in the same year (lol)
I like your ideas. Much better than this shit. It sounds engaging, surprising and interesting. This was... mid
16:37 Wow
holy crit
what did he said? Cant understand
5:25 - Reminds me of Silvermoon City and the scar on the land outside of it from WoW
Or a small group of archers harassing the healers from afar while their main force is on the way. etc etc.
Decades behind GW2...
Here we are again with this unrelated GuildWorse² comments from Guildworse² cultists.
This game looks straight trash not gonna lie
if you compare it with some existing MMORPG (2014-ish) it looks far worse and play far worse ....... can't believe it's 2024 game
@@minorishimizu4241 exactly! LOL! This is exactly what I was thinking... HOW can this look SO BAD still after all the years they have spent making it and the fact that its 2024??
Im sorry but this looks slighty more impressive than Lineage 2. Do they even realise how behind the times this looks its insane
Lmfao how is it behind its time ? Please elaborate
The classic graphics and style is a good thing. The hyper realistic shit can F off
27:25 this is 100% true u dont know how motivated i get to see someone doing some top level shit when im new and struggling with basic mobs
archeage was good at this and so is deepwoken when i first started i was struggling to fight bandits then i see these 2 maxed players pvping and im like yo this shit looks like an anime fight
It would force players to pay attention to where they are at all times as well as know how to maximize they're DMG.
the zoom in and out while doing nothing is soo annoying
😂😂😂
This ain’t it fam.
We’ve been doing fights like the dragon for 20 years. Zzzz
idk man that shit looks really cool. You don't have to agree with all of asmons takes you know? He doesn't even play mmos anyways.
@@CombatMedic1O I’ve played MMOs since 1999. This is nothing I haven’t seen several times before 🤷🏻♂️
doing them in instanced dungeons for 10 players not world bosses with pvp around them
@emoussea1 okay cool. Maybe stop playing mmos then if your bored of them. I've seen basketball before but still play it. It's fun. The formula works.
@@CombatMedic1Oyou have nothing of value to add
asmon has to be getting paid to watch these AOC vids, he puts on a good show acting like he actually cares too
It will only work and feel fun if they introduce something new. All the gameplay here is 2004 with graphics of 2010.
I feel likes it’s missing a knock back effect when the dragon stomps and tail swipes
As a person who loves MMORPGS.. this is the most boring, generic game I've ever seen
fr
Looks kinda one dimensional. Like the "raid boss" just looked like a big HP bar, sorta like a world boss?
And just generally the UI, spell effects. Just everything about it looks dated and boring. It's telling when I find myself skipping through the video before I'm even 2min in.
The battle music was just a loop. Doesn't feel epic at all.
This game just looks like a huge dev sandbox and nothing like an actual mmo I want to play. Watching this also makes me want to just play GW2 instead
I'm glad the fire effects look like fire, rather than a digital hologram of fire. I think fire was closer to looking like fire in isometric games of the late 90s and early 2000s until now.
at the current state of the development, the game feels very generic for me tbh
it's a little soft to say it's generic. It failed to impress me tbh, it does nothing better than other existing MMORPG for being "a new MMO". i don't find any reason to play it over others, maybe you already seen why.
@@minorishimizu4241 Because there are no MMO anymore, FF14 and WOW are just multiplayer games wher you queue to enter a dungeon.
thats a no from me, Devs are terrible players. Terrible players make bad content.
That's a big ass piñata
13:25 It will probably be implemented as spell augments. High Priest (Cleric+Cleric) or Scryer (Cleric+Bard).
You need to see "tera horrowhold" to see what a dragon raid boss should look like. I mean the cute baby dragon in ashes of Creation is neat, but it feels kind of bland.
Theres zero soul or creativity to this game. It's just generic fantasy from all that i've seen. I hope they have a solid story w/ good world building and unique ideas, because this is just.. the expected
I don't need creativity, I need to finally have one goddamned decent MMO releasing that does not insta-flop or is a Chinese/Korean gachapon.
@@zelasd3125how won’t it flop when it’s missing soul and creativity?
me when my game dosent look like a disney game for 5 yrs old muh souless
@@coadamolx0100it doesn’t look realistic either. It looks uncanny. It’s bad
They don't. Steven just wants a Lineage clone - and he'll get it. A game with outdated mechanics and graphics, propped up by a few hardcore players and lots and lots of bots. I have no idea why anyone got hyped about this game past the initial announcement.
gameplay looks scuffed.
When is Asmon Gonna stop dismissing all criticism for this game as WoW or other mmo fans being upset.
Like there’s nothing to criticize
Still waiting for next gen MMO. Monster Hunter Wilds / Dark Souls combat with Throne and Liberty graphics please.
34:03 Yo that charge animation and the res animation at 42:59 is incredible. In wow it's so nonchalant. Here it's like I'm begging my god to bring my buddy back to life.
