And these lists are stupid....I get mad
no kpop? try again
Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation definitely
So much of the same. To each his own, but this list was pretty sad. With a few exceptions - Thriller, Smooth Criminal (anything with Michael Jackson), Uptown Funk, Everybody, Rhythm Nation, Vogue, Paula Abdul - the rest are just vulgar aerobic videos with costumes. I'd love to see most of these dancers get through a professional audition with Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, Susan Stroman, Tommy Tune, Savion Glover, Michael Peters, Peter Gennaro, Jacques D'Amboise, Twyla Tharp, Mikhail Barishnikov, Jerome Robbins (ha!), Michael Kidd, George Faison, Gillian Lynne, Michelle Assaf, Dana Moore, Gregory Hines, Ann Reinking, Agnes DeMille, Graciella Danielle, Joey Pizzi, Kathleen Marshall - brilliant artists, dancer/choreographers, many no longer living. Rote t*ts and a$$ aerobics, pelvic thrusts and booty shakes are not choreography - no style, no grace, no arc, no story, no art.
How TF did Feist make this list?
*HOW TF was Lady Gaga ‘Bad Romance’ better than SMOOTH CRIMINAL by Michael Jackson, when were talking about CHOREOGRAPHY* 🏳️ 🤯 .
As an ex-dancer, I said those exact words precisely out loud, lol.
I respectfully side-eyed quite a few of these spots they determined, but then again, it's “their list,” I suppose. 🤷🏼♀️😂
The order of things in Top Ten or Top Twenty lists isn't all that important, and is very subjective. The point of the list is to be entertaining, not definitive.
@@fiwebster9814i
Facts!!!
Also No remember the time.
There's no doubt that a list like this would have Michael and Janet at the top. They are music royalty for a reason.
I see touches of MJ’s music and videos often on UA-cam browsing in new productions.
Royalty definitely! But only one Queen, and that’s Madonna! 🙎♀️🙆♀️💁🏼♀️🤷♀️!
Okay
@@MrDerekkline Janet would kill Madonna in a dance battle
@@ccjtv809 I’ve seen Madonna live 8 times. The woman sings and dances while balancing on only her head! Splits, backflips, just to mention the simple highlights. Things I would love to see Janet attempt! Yikes! Someone get a stretcher! LOL
The choreography in Thriller was so ridiculously perfect that there is a point where you can pause it and draw a straight line under the dancers' feet when they jump and their feet are all at the same distance from the ground. Its crazy!
Agreed. Fit for Broadway in my opinion ‼️
Lol. Admit it, you did it, didn't you?
@@bwilliams4u I didn't. I saw it on a documentary years and years ago.
Michael Peters was genius ‼️‼️‼️and choreographed a lot of M.J video 🎉❤❤
You have too much time dude...
I literally thought "Remember The Time" was gonna be up here that choreography is excellent. The movements, their all on point. The Egyptian style moves were insane.
Top tier choreography 🙌🏾
i was also expecting MJ's Remember The Time on this list too. but he has a lot of entries already. hahaha!
Michael was the King of Pop! Remember the time, was an incredible hit. I remember when it was aired the first time on MTV. It was like a Movie. You‘re right, this video with the Choreography was simply breathtaking!
I honestly think that’s the most difficult and impressive choreographed MJ music video and that’s REALLY REALLY REALLY saying something O.o
Was about to comment the exact same thing! ❤❤❤❤❤ I even put Remember the Time above Smooth Criminal on my personal list. 😂👍🏼 I was a teenager and had a big crush on him at the time the video came out, LoLoLoL.
Pretty sure we all knew Thriller would be #1. That video was and always will be iconic. ❤️
I was angry if it not was thriller 🤣
I'm art number 11, and I'm glad you let me know Thriller is #1. I remember going to parties when it was out, and people showing the long version and we watched it and enjoyed it. Lol! We watched a video at a party and thought it was cool.
Makes me want to “Scream” MJ & JJ
And if Rhythm Nation wasn’t #2-
I used to do practice the entire dance sequence in my room as a kid, he was my hero! Now as a young adult I can literally do the whole thing (not as good as MJ but still. However, Smooth Criminal and Remember the Time was always too difficult for me lol) 🔥
Janet & Michael are untouchable forever! The King & The Queen
You mean God and Goddess
Janet is hardly the Queen. Even she has admitted that title belongs to Madonna,
Okay, who else besides me called out Thriller as the #1 pick for this list? The choreography is freaking iconic for a reason.
It was perfect actually. At one point, if you pause at the right time, when the dancers jump, you could draw a straight line across and their feet are at the same level. Every single one of them. Thats how crazy good they were.
I like beat it video dancing better
When Smooth Criminal premiered everyone talked about it for months. The lean alone was incredible.
How did they do that ?
@@megmaryelena They had special shoes who could link into a nob in the ground.
Google "Michael Jackson shoe patent" to know the full secret.
@@Damionia95on stage, yes. But in the video they did it with bands tied to their bodies.
I was looking at the tv as a 7yo like: 😯😲😳😁
Michael Jackson changed the game for music videos. He said I don't make music videos I make short movies. When I was younger they would have a Michael Jackson marathon day on tv where they would play all his short movies, then his actual movie Moonwalker, and then his live from Bucharest concert. I wish more artists today would put more effort into their music videos and performances because so many are just lackluster. I used to get so excited watching music videos when I was younger and now except for a few artists, it doesn't excite me anymore.
But he made it believable
He didn’t change the game. He set the standard!
@@evinmurphy1084 He did both.
MJ was not the first to “moonwalk.” However, he significantly was innovative and influenced generations in dance/choreography on a nearly global scale. And a meritorious note to all the unknown choreographers and many nameless dancers who also gave blood, sweat, tears and timeless rehearsals to music videos/performances…thanks.
Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai. That was some precision choreography.
missing two :
1. Shakira - Did it again
2. Sia - Chandelier of course!!! it was all over everywhere
Michael Jackson's Remember the Times should have been on the list too!
I sincerely thought Michael and Janet would take the entire list! They are the best!
Because literally Smooth Criminal and Remember the Time are DEFINITELY better than Single Ladies (not being sarcastic) lol
Michael and Janet - the best dancers ever. Who just happen to be brother and sister!
Pleasure Principle one of the greatest of all time
Honestly Michael, Janet and Madonna could've filled this list all on their own.
I would leave Madonna off
@@ciscokid0110 Why? Even if you don't like her she HAS made quite a few iconic videos
And Britney
@@ciscokid0110 Why on earth would you leave Madonna off? Her contribution is enormous.
@@ronk2832 AGREED!
New Edition If It Isn't Love should've made the list. That video is iconic and they are the blueprint for modern day boy bands.
So TRUE!!!
I agree! IMO, that song has the best choreography of all their songs, and that's saying a lot.
They were awesome
you can fill a top 20 list with just Michael's videos, and you could argue that good enough to stand by themselves.
Uptown funk song itself has much to draw listeners. The lyrics are fun, fast, and hip without being offensive, not so much for the purist, but for the wider mainstream audience. The Funk groove is infectious, and the interplay between the beats and the syncopated vocal rhythms is intoxicating.😄😄😄
Bruno is that rare artist where both your younger cousin and your grandma can enjoy him.
I can't believe it's been 7 years since it came out.
Just saw this video a week ago. Watchednit many times. Bruno has to be the coolest cat in the industry
I thought the choreography did a lot to capture those very features, which is why the video is both visually and aurally appealing.
@@cjayj442 wow what???
So glad to see Paula Abdul and MC Hammer!
Too legit to quit should have been in there as well
Janet’s rhythm nation is one of the best choreographies ever ❤
Nailed it
I was going to be so angry if it wasn't at the top!
Also Pleasure Principle - she carried the whole thing herself!
I almost cussed cause these picks were kinda iffy 😂 That's all I kept thinking "Ummmm where's Janet?"
To me it is better than Thriller, but they are right - Thriller is still, imitated at weddings 😊
Janet Jackson - Queen of dance. She is the BLUEPRINT!
Janet Jackson you are my favorite superstar
You can clearly see the influence Janet gave to the following generations to come. Ciara is a good example of this, I'm still surprised that Ride was banned from BET network.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!
TRUE! ❤
Paula Abdul taught her how to dance.
Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson set the bar. They are the OG 🔥🔥🔥
I totally love that Michael and Janet are number 1 and number 2 👑👑
There is no way that Michael wasn't going to be #1! It was sooo obvious! He has influenced many artists and will continue to do so.
So glad to see Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. Love, love, love it!
Before watching list top 5 should be:
1) Thriller- Michael Jackson
2) Rhythm Nation- Janet Jackson
3) Single Ladies- Beyoncé
4) Bad Romance- Lady Gaga
5) Vogue- Madonna
I love your list!!
💯
Of course I have my issues with the rankings but MsMojo is a real one for including the legend that is McHammer. He was an outstanding showman and a true trendsetter. Thanks!
How the heck did you not include "Scream",it has Michael and Janet in it and the dancing is mind blowing ok maybe not better than "Thriller" or "Rhythm Nation" but still deserves a mention.
Ikr! It would’ve been nice if they had performed it live 😞
It was more improvised dancing than choreographed. Great video and song though!!!
@@EvanRockwell1 It was a dance squence 100% in sync and you think that was improvised?
@@michellekennedy4426 Watch it again. They had about 10 seconds of choreography. The rest was improvised. Most of the video, they're not even in the same room. I've watched the music video 400,000,000 times.
Scream is my all time favorite music video and I don’t really like the song that much
Yes, Thriller is a great pick! "Beat it" is also one of the best videos of all time! It should be in the top-5 videos list! The message, the music and the moves are legendary! Also, as a native of Minneapolis, I think Janet Jackson had some other great videos working with Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis on the Control album, including "The Principle of Pleasure" a GREAT solo dance video!😃💕👏🏾🎶🕺🏾💯
Agreed! Beat It should have made the list.
There's literally no choice for #1 but Thriller.
OK Go's "Here It Goes Again" should be on here.
YES! Here It Goes Again was iconic! I’ve watched that video so many times! Made me a definite fan of their videos, and I’ve watched every single one multiple times. Each one is a jewel.
#2 yes, Janet is awesome!!! #1 THRILLER YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT MICHAEL JACKSON RULES!! WHO ELSE COULD WIN BEST CHOREOGRAPHY!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Check out Alright by Janet Jackson. Choreography is phenomenal!
“Are You That Somebody” by Aaliyah should be on this list. OK Go should be as well for “Here It Goes Again.” The dance break in the “Fantasy” music video (Mariah Carey) is also pretty iconic.
My thoughts exactly!
I definitely agree with "Are You That Somebody." "Try Again," "One in a Million," and "More Than a Woman" were some other Aaliyah videos that had great choreography, too.
Just posted same thing
Michael-King of Dance❤
Janet- Queen of Dance ❤
So True
This list is cool. However, Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" should have been included.
Just posted the same
Uptown FUNK was choreographed by a JABBAWOCKEE. 🤯😳🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Those Jacksons!
Smooth Criminal is in the wrong place. Too low. It’s a masterpiece.
The fact that OK GO isn't anywhere on this list just frustrates me to no end. Most if not all their videos are in one long shot.
came here for this comment
The fact that they're not dancers alone should have put them AT THE VERY LEAST honorable mention! Not to mention their many other videos!!
OK GO are my absolute favorite videos of all time. They’re more like elaborate Rube Goldberg machines, though (especially that one!) than choreographed dance videos. That said, the treadmills video at least deserved an honorable mention!
Beyoncé MJ and Janet have 2 videos on this top. Black Excellence
Michael Jackson was black ?🤔🤔
@@leohaddad6106 yes, as you can clearly see in the video
@@leohaddad6106 I really hope you're joking because everyone knows Michael Jackson was black.
Shut up
mj and janet only are black excellence
How did Aaliyah not make this list with Try Again or Are you that Somebody. One of those need to be top 10
Yes!!
Very well deserved for both Jackson siblings. Michael and Janet are the best out there !!
Well Michael and Janet being 1 and 2 makes sense. You got that part right Lol
So glad Hammer is on here! Give him is flowers!
As a teen, dance clubs were really popular. The night that the Thriller video premiered, no one danced during the video. We all sat down on the dance floor and watched this amazing choreographed and entertaining video. ❤ good memories
Young people watching this: These are ARTISTS. They work (or worked) so hard for our entertainment. Dance moves practiced until perfect, singing on cue. I wish there were still artists like these ones today. Lastly, GO, BACKSTREET BOYS!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation video was so precise and crisp. Then again there’s not a video she has done that doesn’t capture your attention.
One of my favorite vids by her was Runaway. It was an imaginative and innovative video. 😀 You can fill this whole list with just Janet and Michael Jackson and Paula Abdul.
@@amberjohnson4820 absolutely 💯
She's just the best 👑
Janet is the Queen period.
@joeljoel LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!
Backstreet Boys has always been considered as a vocal harmony group. However their dance skill is quite unforgettable.
It’s an iconic video, but when you look closely at the dancing, it’s not as difficult, skilful or great as what the video makes it to be
If you want to see a boy band that can dance, you need to check out Take That- it's the biggest boy band you never heard of. They are absolute icons in the UK. Check out the video to Shine or It Only Takes a Minute. But they really dance in their live performances.
@@deekenny602Never heard of? Don't be daft. 😂❤
@@manichairdo9265 I'm American- I never heard of them until I moved to Ireland in 2004. Even then, they didn't regisgter until I heard Patience on a commuter bus on my way to work. But don't feel bad- when I ask my friends back home, their reaction is Robbie who?? Kylie who??
@@deekenny602 Ah, that explains a few things though Take That reached no 7, I think, with Want you back in America. I'm in Scotland. Never made it to Ireland...my loss. Lived in Nashville for a year due to my late husband's work...a professional musician. I loved every nano-second in America and the people were incredible.
Main reason for me to watch these top videos is to check out if the King of Pop is on the top or not 👑🌱💜
2 people from the Jackson family took the top 2 spots in this list. Very impressive
As an old lady (MTV came into existence a month after me), I love seeing the new and old videos. Music video is one of my favorite forms of art, and I hope artists keep making them!!
Same here (55). I grew up with MTV. Yup. So many talented dancers out there. Wow.
You're not old!
I wish you a long, active, and healthy life
Old? lol...I was in my twenties when MTV debuted. Was also there for first outing of Saturday Night Live.
It’s an insult that Aaliyah had 3 of the best dance videos ever but she’s not listed once. Yet number 17 made it. “More Than A Woman”, “Try Again”, and “Are You That Somebody?” Could all easily be top 5, with Michael and Janet being #1 and #2 respectively.
Bad Romance will always be my favorite all time videos. I mean wierdness and almost possessed moves just hypnotized me in awe.
Curious here- how old are you? I think age plays a role when you become influenced by the song, dance and singer. Your choice is good, it also reflects your age. Am I correct?
I was about to get mad that Rhythm Nation wasn't in the list until I got there. Thank you!!!
I love missy elliot dancing so much, unique and cool
Come on people! You knew Thriller was going be #1.
It's the #1 choreographed video on every music list in history and most LEGENDARY music video *OF ALL TIME!!*
Banan Alice: Am I a joke to you?
I’m a shy person and really don’t dance while out and about but somehow I know all the choreography in Janet Jackson’s “IF” 😆🤣😂 🤷♀️
And don’t get me started on Paula Abdul! Love her!
THANKS FOR COVERING MICHEAL JACKSON SMOOTH CRIMINAL! AND MC HAMMER! 👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌
I don’t think anyone will eclipse the Jackson siblings in terms of choreographed dance videos.
Of course Thriller is #1! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I love Jon Batiste's Freedom. Totally awesome ❤
When they do this again, or do one for the last little while, that has GOT to be on there ... only thing I've seen recently where the choreography is genuinely up there along with a great song.
Yes! Jon Batiste’s Freedom video just does something powerful to my soul.
We all knew who 1 and 2 would be but I actually agree with this entire list this time... plus one addition, and one substitution. I'd add "It's gonna be me" from Nsync, and change Britney's to "I'm a slave 4u."
I think Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC had more memorable choreography.
OBSCURE CHOICE: I was hoping to see Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" video on the list. I happened to catch that video late one night on VH1 Classic about 10 years ago, and the choreography blew me away.
This list was really good, but Mýa's "Case Of The Ex" should've not only been on the list but should be in the top 10.
I'm so old, I literally remember the day Janet Jackson's "If" video premiered on MTV. Now it's a classic.
I'm so old, I remember when MTV started lol
New edition If isn’t love should be on its one the most iconic dance choreography from the 80’s
When I was in elementary school, I wanted to dance like Janet soooo bad. And I cannot tell you how many times I replayed this video on my VHS... dying & trying to dance like Janet here🤩
Janet Jackson's 'All For You' is also some great choreo!!
Michael on top💗💗💗
BTS BLACK SWAN BOTH VERSION , BTS NOT TODAY , BTS ON , BTS DYNAMITE DANCE BREAK A CUTE DEDICATION TO MICHAEL 🙂💜
WOW... so much fun to watch. Pinks Try video was my favorite!!!
I feel like nails hair hips heels should’ve been in it but the top 10 totally deserve the rankings
Surprised the treadmill one isn't on here
MJ's 'Remember The Time' is iconic.... also Janet's 'Alright' music video, the remix with Heavy D and Cab Calloway!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
great list. could had definitely did an entrie list of Michael and Janet. I would add Aaliyah Are You that Somebody or Mya Case of the Ex or My Love is Like whoa
Shout out to Aaliyah “are you that somebody.”
Yes
Honestly, Michael Jackson could have filled all twenty spots but Thriller will always be the best.
Will Smith's Wild Wild West and Men in Black had excellent dance routines. Surprised they didn't make the cut.
5:26 It’s nearly 2022 and I’m still listening to Uptown Funk too! It will be 8 years old too! 😀😀😀😀😀
Me too
@@queeniejoymiravite4253 It will be 8 years old too.
I’m okay with this list except I didn’t see Bye Bye Bye by *NSYNC. Also, I don’t know how Uptown Funk gets on here for choreography especially when compared to the others which are famous for choreography. I do love the song but not for that.
They have Bad romance on 9 while smooth criminal at 10...thats how they judge.. Idk how
All of Missy's videos are awesome!!
Pink video is totally art!!!
Janet Jackson's IF video to me will always be on top. Also shout out to Kylie Minogue's Red Blooded Woman.
Kylie is NOT a good dancer.
Bruno Mars is a boss!
How could you have overlooked OK Go??? Another band TOTALLY UNDERRATED!!!
Who are they?
@@soonerlilsis They are a band known for making complex videos in one take.
Of course Michael and Janet Jackson are the blueprint for all of the other artists on the list hands down. 💯
Smooth criminal should p lace higher!! On the list!
I think here it goes again by ok go should be on the list
Tinashe “Company” deserves an honorable mention. The choreographer is JoJo Gomez, who is amazing!
Michael & Janet Jackson rightfully at #1 but Gaga, Britney & Backstreet Boys being higher than Janet’s “If” and Michael’s “Smooth Criminal” is funny. Couldn’t have the King & Queen occupying all of the higher spots 😂😂😂😂
There shoulda been some JACKSON 5 dancing on here! They got down!!!
Are you that Somebody-Aaliyah had us in a chokehold!! How is this video not on the list
You can see the Jackson’s influence in so many ideas that came after
Makes me want to “Scream” MJ & JJ
Everybody by the Backstreet Boys was a good one, but drew more than a couple moves straight out of the Thriller video!
If it is not overshadowed by the Super Bowl, All Nite Don’t Stop is also once of Janet’s best choreographed music video!
Oh hell yeah. Janet's choreography was so damn intricate in that song.
