Roof Dryer Vent Repair (Roof Top Dryer Vent Installation)

- In this video, we install a new dryer vent on a roof. The old roof dryer vent was installed improperly and lent continued to get stuck at the end of the vent pipe and wasn't able to escape. This caused the dryer to stop working properly and cause a leak. Another roofer told the homeowner the leak was from a loose nail. That definitely was not the issue and in this video, you can see exactly how Roof Central finds the leaks and repairs them properly.
We started in the attic and found where the water was coming in. This proved without a shadow of a doubt that the leak was coming from the dryer vent and the fact that it was installed improperly. When the home was built the dryer vent pipe should have gone straight up and then out the roof as fast as possible. Instead, it was installed at a 20-degree angle and heat was not able to escape fast enough. This also caused the wood deck to burn.

I was hoping you would show how to install the dryer vent in shingle around it
The water is most likely caused by condensation, forming inside the cold air of the dryer exhaust and the hot air of the attic. Dryer exhaust vent must be pitched downward, so condensation runs out. This also serves to prevent water coming in the house.
I wished the installation and the interface of the vent with the pipe were shown from the inside. That is the most important part and it is missing. Thanks.
This dude made the video for his wife, not to show how it was perhaps so he can get more customers 😂
You didn't show the most important part of the video -- how the roof vent was attached to the dryer vent.
Noticed that you said not to use a flapper on a bathroom fan vent. Curious as to why? What sort of cap do you recommend for a bathroom fan?
Can I ask how much this particular fix cost?
Great video, very informative.
unfortunately the dryer vent should have been insulated, when it's not condensation will build up in the pipe and leak thru the joints
Hi there. I was cleaning my vents today and the lint came out wet and I found a water stain under the dryer. Is that from condensation? I know my vent pipe is not insulated and it's going vertically to the roof with no bends. Thank you.
Yes the warm moist air cools in the attic and the water follows the pipe back to the the lowest spot, this can be rectified by insulating the pipe that is in the attic@@MrGogz2005
Thanks for wasting my time, you didn’t even show the install of the vent.
Last a life time but still going to have clogging issues
Advertisement yes. Repair video no.
Didn’t show any of the installation at all. This was a talking vlog.
Thanks for not showing any of the repair…
Thank you for showing exactly how it is done. Help people by not making such informative videos.
That dryer vent is way too long!
Life time do I need to clean it often
