I installed that floating exterior dryer vent to our home 15 years ago and it's still by far one of the best upgrades I ever made to the house. Simple, smart and works great. No mice ever.
I have had a vent like the Raeflow on every house since I lived in the midwest and realized how much cold air was coming in the vent during the winter. Great design, I think it looks great. Two thumbs up!
After listing my house for sale, I got dinged by a home inspector because my dryer vent hole was too low to the ground. I installed the same exterior dryer vent seal cover you showed. New homeowner was happy. Thanks for posting.
i learned a lot in this vid. Am a noob, this is a new issue for me, absolutely everything is very useful. OMG, condoms for caulk tubes! it's genius!!!!!!
I bought the plastic one off of Amazon thinking it was the one that the company my brother used to work for makes. It was very cheap and I returned it and bought direct from Heartland who makes them in North Dakota and is built better. Thanks for the video.
Great job! I didn't know the Magvent existed. These are so much better than the traditional older versions. Easy installation with a clean professional outcome.
I have had a vent like that for over ten years. It works great to stop air leaks. I have never had any problems with it and have never had to perform any maintenance on it.
That really is so tidy and convenient, thank’s to Magvent for a great appliance, and last but not least, You and your channel for making us the viewers aware of this product. 👍🏼👏🏼❤️
I watch all your videos! The second option might just work for my “crazy” application. It’s the size of the “laundry nook” & where the vent is located. I’m going to give this a try.👍. P.S. A leaf blower will clean out a dryer vent that exits a roof!
Your devices look so much better than our current dryer vent !! I will share your video with my husband and see what he think’s. Thank You for sharing your great idea’s!!
This is incredible, it’s a little pricey, but I think it’s worth every penny. I dread cleaning out my dryer vent because it’s such a pain in the butt to get the exhaust pipe reconnected. I’m ordering one of these right away. Thanks for sharing.
Great video!! Just ordered the product. However, it would have been helpful if you described how to install the wall unit with an existing vent pipe rather than just a drywall hole. I'm sure most applications would have the metal pipe through the wall.
I as will be adding all these into new homes that I be painting and remodeling. I am sure the homeowners will be a very appreciative. Thanks for the link thanks mag vent thank you for posting this. I really do appreciate it.
Excellent video. One word of caution. Our dryer vent exits right next to our Air Conditioners compressor and condensing coils…. and unfortunately the lint from the dryer clogs those ac coils and the very very numerous and thin fins. We’re using the vent catcher style to is filled with water.
Great introduction to the mag vent thanks for the video. As tempting as it looks I don’t think I’ll replace mine anytime soon. I don’t care how neat and nice it looks behind my dryer, it’s not visible and the cost and work is not worth it for me but I enjoyed the video and learning about new things.
What if your dryer vent outlet is much higher up on the wall, would that be an issue for this kind of model? And is creating bends in it not so good for ventilation? New to DIY stuff. Thanks!
That dryer vent is one of the best designs but unfortunately it isn’t made out of UV resistant plastic and ends up cracking and yellowing. I have had to replaced ours several times over the years and have another replacement ready to paint, this will be the first time trying this. I want to see if painting adds any protection from UV, I just wish they were made out of a better material, shouldn’t have to go through this for what they cost.
11:30 that exterior vent is in a terrible location and it should have been relocated rather than cutting away the house below grade or so close to the grade. Even if the grade was not a concern, it would be ideal to move it away from the AC condenser which is likely to get dryer lint in the aluminum coils which will degrade its performance and require a lot more maintenance cleaning (which most people do not do).
The exhaust duct must be rigid vent pipe is correct. However the transition duct section, unless MN specifically excludes it, can be a flexible UL listed material and no longer than 8’.
I couldn't watch after the first 20 seconds. Just can't get over the wiring on that dryer. Good thing you have that magnetic vent hose because it will make it easier to reconnect after the firefighters pull it away from the wall to extinguish the flames. Please fix that wiring. The strain relief clamp should be on the outer sheath of the power cord so the individual conductors are protected from damage.
Houses should have the option of directing the hot air into the attic space for the winters. There has been a few folks on UA-cam that have done this to help heat a home.

Just finished updating the laundry room. Looks like I’m tearing it apart again to add this. Love it!
No need to my friend! It’s a quick and easy addition, weather you need the 90 or the 180 magvent on the configuration of your dryer 🙏🏽👍🏽😊
I have had a vent like the Raeflow on every house since I lived in the midwest and realized how much cold air was coming in the vent during the winter. Great design, I think it looks great. Two thumbs up!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the Raeflow! Thing is awesome! 👍🏽🙏🏽😊

How low is too low
How high is too high

Yes well done video. Very interested in upgrading my moms old loose vent cap and hose!

The MV-80 was a great recommendation. Thank you. Such an easy install and improvement over the typical connection.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏽😊

The MagVent look awesome. Affordable too.
Yes! That thing is a game changer!
For a stackable, would it be better to go diagonal or L shaped?
Really like the mag vents. When I clean my dryer vent, I may install it. Thanks for the great video.
I bought one 3 years ago. And love it
Thank you for sharing your follow up! 🙏🏽😊
Thank you, mine has the vent through the floor behind the dryer to a crawl space, would you recommend the 180 or 90?
This washer vent system is amazing, the ring should have small finger tabs for separating, squeezing the vent will eventually crush it.
What if your dryer vent outlet is much higher up on the wall, would that be an issue for this kind of model? And is creating bends in it not so good for ventilation? New to DIY stuff. Thanks!
I like this simple set up thanks for this my friend 😊
Thank you! I agree! Keeps it clean, efficient and effective 🙏🏽👍🏽😊
Great video. Thanks for posting!!
I’m glad I could be of help! 🙏🏽😊
Great invention, thanks for the video and the links.
Such a slick system
Love it. Nice job.
which magvent version do I need if my dryer vent is on the floor (and goes to the basement and to the outside)?
great video and great advice!

I have had mine for over ten years and have never had a problem with it but mine does not get direct sunlight.
Mine is 12 years old, truth. I've re-glued the cover twice. It looks like it might not make it much longer. But it works great
painting your vent will prolong its life bu protecting it from UV
There is a comment below saying a company by the name of Heartland makes the metal one and it’s not the Amazon cheap plastic knock off
I have one for probably a year and a half. The uv has really only yellowed it so far.
What's your installation for a floor pipe?
11:30 that exterior vent is in a terrible location and it should have been relocated rather than cutting away the house below grade or so close to the grade. How does the wall base part connect to the metal vent pipe coming from inside the wall on the MV-180
There is a 3-4” metal lip that is attached to the the wall part piece that should slide inside or outside of your metal vent pipe.
Is there a roof version of the vent seal cover?
This is actually a good idea...
Thank you! 🙏🏽 it is awesome 🤩
What about the vent under the house?
Stay tuned! 👍🏽😊🙏🏽
Great video
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Fyi, in Minnesota, the flexible tubing doesn't meet code, and the aluminum tape is required.
The exhaust duct must be rigid vent pipe is correct. However the transition duct section, unless MN specifically excludes it, can be a flexible UL listed material and no longer than 8’.
anyone else concerned about cuts through the framing timbers?
Yeah probably would have been better to build out away from the house instead of cutting through the framing..
Don't believe the boards are part of the framing, if they are they shouldn't be exposed on the exterior like that, appears to be just trim.
Thank you. 👍🏻😊
How cool!
Or get a heat pump dryer, that’s what I’m going to do. I’ll get back 5” behind the dryer.

The dryer vent is supposed to be 12" above grade.
First two I like, Last one I do not
Nice winter home for the little critters 😂
Houses should have the option of directing the hot air into the attic space for the winters. There has been a few folks on UA-cam that have done this to help heat a home.
Do you know how much moisture that would put up into your attic?
It would create rot and mold in no time in the insulation and wood .
@@ZenDreaming60people do not understand do they? Lol
Not to mention that lint is highly flammable while insulation is treated with a fire retardant.
Terrible idea I'm afraid
