I started smoking cannabis since my teenage. Got addicted to cigarettes for over 18 years. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

Medicinal cannabis has been revolutionary to my sleep. As a shift worker of 20 years my sleep is generally awful. I use a very small amount about once every 10 to 14 days, I get 10 to 12 hours sleep that night and the effect on more restful sleep lasts about a week. I can see it in my smart watch sleep scores as well as subjectively feel the difference. For me it somehow breaks the circuit of waking up in the middle of the night and being unable to get back to sleep. It is also waaaaaaayyyyyy less expensive than the combined psychology/acupuncture/massage combo that helped but less reliably. I really hope that we can start moving more quickly on legalisation.
I quit weed a month ago and my sleep has been slowly getting better and better. The first 3 weeks I have had the craziest dreams, so vivid and memorable. I almost never dreamed when getting high. Currently on day 23 of being sober and my body is slowly normalizing itself. I'm grateful for my experiences with weed but my chronic daily use was harming me in ways I hadn't noticed. Irritability, zombie like days, and a lack of effective motivation to get things done. I'm giving myself a year to be sober, and maybe I'll go back to it but in edible form and only on off days like weekends or celebrations. Hope peace for you all ✌️
Glad you made some realizations. Cannabis can be greatly helpful, if used in strict manners. Habitually used just for fun, the high can be detrimental.
I'm getting into that boat. It has gotten far too habitual. The "high" far too brief. It becomes this boring pursuit. It cannot be "the norm" and continue to be as great as it once was..
My humble experience with insomnia (for years) Wake up early, everyday even if you haven't had enough sleep, take a nap later after midday, but wake up early like 30min before the sunrise, try to inhale that fresh air just before the sunrise and get exposed to the light of the rising sun. I've done it for years now, best quality sleep, no more waking up at 3am questioning your existence on earth hh and better mornings especially if you take walks
I have PTSD . Which caused night terrors . Nothing helped . Until I joined a university of Sydney study . I was prescribed CBD oil with THC. I have never slept better . Very few nightmares since . Therefore I have continued .
Good Talk. Chill thing about Canada is 4 cannabis plants per household. 10 to 12 pounds per growing season, 1 season indoors, and 1 season outdoors. You always know what's in your own dried flower. And what buds you need to best address the ailments in need. In North America, opiates kill, bud doesn't.
@@recuperacion420 my experience is quite the contrary. Whenever I need to put together a complicated paper, I find I can much more readily integrate different ideas and formulate a very articulate final draft. However, just to be safe, I never his "send" while under the magical effects of pot. I wait until the morning to review the draft and then hit "send".
I have hyper-vigilance stemming from service related PTSD which in turn causes me to experience anxiety, and most nights I can't sleep all the way through. Since I retired I have been using a full spectrum tincture and coupled with my CPAP, I get the best sleep I have had since I was a kid. Anecdotal for sure, but until and unless the federal government legalized or reschedules cannabis, the scientific studies cannot be done, so anecdotal evidence is all we have, at least in the states.
I use a disposable vape. If you want the cleanest high, choose live rosin or live resin. Most disposable vapes are standard distillate, just THC and added terps. All those choices are better than smoking. I typically take a drag or two. It just depends on the potency and my tolerance though.
I can tell you from personal experience that for me, taking high doses of mmj edibles is the difference between getting 5 hours collectively of sleep in a 24 hour period, versus 3 hours. It makes a huge difference not only in the quantity of sleep, but the quality as well. I am fortunate to live in Arizona, where medical marijuana has been legal for several years, and recreational is also legal here now.
For me it helped me fall asleep, though I wouldn’t say my quality improved. I never dreamed, so I think it affected my REM cycle. There is research to back this up. When I quit, it caused me severe insomnia. I so far have not regained my normal sleep as prior to the cannabis. For me it was a very bad decision. I admit I did use heavy amounts of it.
I live in Canada. And I sleep like the dead most nights.🙃 It boggles my mind that something I'm growing legally on my back deck as I type. Is such a spectacle of controversy elsewhere in the world.
The drug was only part of the war on rugs (might as well have been) because foreigners in the US used it and they wanted to get back at them. And then everyone followed the US' lead... Even thought there was millennia of usage in some countries.
@@stephaneboisjoli1320 This! Why so much of the rest of the world chooses to follow the worst American habits is beyond me. Brittney Griner was incarcerated in Russia--which is shameful; Putin is a joke--but tens of thousands of people have been incarcerated in the US for mere possession, since (according to the US) cannabis a 'drug with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.' Is it any wonder where Russia got its puritanical claptrap from?

She seems like someone amazing to work with... About the topic I knew the answer was gonna be still far away, as a recreative consumer I've felt some days that it helps me with having better sleep, but others can even make the contrary effect, but as she said, that may be because of the quality of the plant and the dosis, but thouse are factors that at least in my country are uncrontrolable for consumers, it's great to see the science researching more about this topic.
I prefer to not dream as they tend to be night terrors. I take high doses of rso and tincture and sleep all night without reaching REM sleep which is where dreams happen. Vivid dreams keep me awake. I also smoke infused joints all day from wake up to right before bed.
Same for me! smoked it for 40 years and had trouble sleeping, when I quit I finally slept. Honestly it almost killed me buy giving me apnea. Dreams returned, wish I had never smoked it. It's just a big lie that it helps with anything at all.
Unfortunately as she stated cannabis affects us differently. For many people it can decrease the quality of sleep and possibly interfere with your REM sleep, which is the most vital period of sleep. Cannabis might not be right for you. CBN, CBD, CBG could be though
I stoped cannibis use 4 months ago, my sleep only got worse like so bad now I'm going multiple nights without sleep with constant body jerks keep me from falling asleep, I think I'll go back to using cannabis. Can't take this anymore
@@srryan1 I couldn't sleep for years, when I changed my diet I could sleep just fine! Had nothing to do with weed, and quitting weed has had many benefits.
Im 60, and I've had sleep issues my entire life. It got considerably worse after having bypass surgery at age 41. I also have diabetic peripheral neuropathy in the hands and feet, which causes insane levels of pain, and a bad back that makes it worse. I've been taking Temazepam for sleep and an opioid for pain for years. It's helpful, but I was still only sleeping every other night. Recently I've been using cannabis at night. I grow my own indica (Grandaddy Purple), which I infuse into butter. and make cookies and brownies with it. The neighborhood kis keep coming back for more. Just kidding! I'm now sleeping better now than I have in at least 20 years. I still miss a night of sleep now and then, especially on bad pain nights, but overall it's made a world of difference.
@@mikewilkins2030 coconut oil is also very good and it absorbs THC really well , it also lasts longer than butter which can turn rancid im also a cookie baker , but the trouble is taken orally does not work at all for me, so im stuck with vapourising my medicinal Cannabis
Of course it does, and if you suffer from eczema it calms you down to handle it much better. If you have no appetite it will help enhance it. If your nerves feel like they're going to jump out of you it will calm you down. There are many health benefits to it; I just think it should be eaten and not smoked.
I was just thinking the same thing. I been smoking since 1977. That makes me old. I bet I have smoked more than I could carry. It's CBD that puts me to sleep. I like to smoke sativa and so I never get tired because sativa has almost zero CBD. Indica puts me to sleep because indica has CBD but also indica has all the best flavors like garlic and hash. I miss those terps. I fall asleep on that kind of medicine, and I get burned out tired and I'm half awake all day long.
How old are you? I heard it ages your brain faster than alcohol. You must think like an 80 year old 😂. Look it up. Cannbjs ages your brain faster than alcohol. I think you have 10 year at best. Brain health is everything.
It works for me, diagnosed with PTSD by the VA. I don't use as a party drug; leave the house, don't drive or share with others. I smoke small doses an hour or two before bed and include Yoga. I fall asleep quickly, still have dreams wake up at 6am every day, retired but active. I do not dose throughout the day. An ounce will last me 3+ months and I refill at a state approved dispensary tested for contamination, not on the street. I sleep through the night in bed by 9:30 and up at 6: 00 7 days a week; this had never happened NEVER! I continue with my mental health program religiously along with daily swimming and or Yoga. You can manage smarter or you can continue down that slippery slope staying stoned throughout the day. It works if y'all work it!
It put me to sleep since I first tried it to this day. I'm not a regular smoker (actually very rarely nowadays), but when I do, I can go to sleep whenever I want. When I was young and suffered from anxiety and depression in my late teens I used it to self-medicate and to be able to sleep.
Yes, it def helps you fall asleep, but it also makes you stop dreaming, fyi. It suppresses REM entirely and dreaming is sorta important. I just recently quit smoking after 25 years off all day everyday wake and bake and essentially stopped dreaming for all those years while using it regularly. A year out from quitting and now I dream all the time again. This is one of the truths ppl don't talk about much. Well, the scientists do, but all the romancing of the plant, it's not ALL good. Also, I've spent my whole life dealing with serious issues of anxiety, and for many years the weed helped those episodes, but then at some point it exasperated them, and now that I've stopped the anxiety is virtually non existent. So there is a lot of grey area with cannabios and it can and does change for ppl over time. Just sharing my experience.
everyone who sold it knows you get called at night by people who need cannabis to sleep, many get really crazy about it. It is maybe the most dependent experience people have with cannabis. You fall asleep quick, you won't dream as much or not remembering your dreeams at all and you can feel a little hangover when waking up. It is an effective treatment for symptoms but impedes the progress to get "cured".
I’ve personally found that Indica is quite a powerful sleep aid, it induces a sudden fatigue in me that prompts my body and therefore mind into a deep slumber. Although I feel like I’ve gotten a restful night‘s sleep, there’s something missing from the full experience had I done it sans Marijuana.
@@neilisalive4892 I concur with that study, sativa is definitely a head high. I love sativa usage whenever I decide to watch an abstract film or indulge in artistic activities. It certainly has an opposite effect versus the Indica strains. Speaking from personal experience off course, some people may react differently.
The strains are so intermixed that those words don't mean anything anymore. You get some that are high in THC and others in CBD, and some mid mixes as well. High THC definitely is a buzz, and high CBD (little THC) - well, I don't feel anything special, but others say they do.
@@stephaneboisjoli1320 OK yes, with the advent of cultivating, farming and fine-tuning, there has been a multitude, an explosion of new strains. That being said, yes, some will be high in THC versus the CBD or vice versa. CBD is typically what’s more medicinally beneficial. Getting rid of the pain, relieving anxiety, lessening nausea… THC, or as it’s known scientifically, delta nine tetrahydrocannabinol is what has the psychoactive compound’s. That being said, THC is what causes you to have the crazy trips and the like… That’s what differentiates a medicinal doser versus a stoner.
Having smoked on average about 1 gram a day of cannabis for decades this is easy to answer. It definitely helps you sleep well, although it does prevent dreaming properly. I gave up about 6 weeks ago and now can't get a full night's sleep and have trouble getting to sleep but I do remember dreams I have quite clearly. I now wake up with a much clearer head but can feel a bit sleepy in the daytime. The best study and quantity to try in my opinion would be to take about a third to half a gram in the evening, that should give a good night's sleep without the 'hangover '. I am writing this at 2.30 in the morning as I can't get to sleep!
Hmmm... definitely need more evidence! I heard of a study of 1400 collage students and increased cannabis use definitely correlated with poorer sleep on several metrics like increased waking in the middle of the night with difficultly falling back asleep. And its seems like it definitely reduces REM sleep so the overall quality of sleep is much poorer. I quit recently and this fits with my subjective experience; crazy dreams due to increased REM but I feel better most mornings!
It makes you either not dream or makes you forget your dreams. I didn’t remember or have a dream for almost 15 years. There wasn’t a day I didn’t get high. 2-3 grams a day for over 15 years. But since I have stopped I started dreaming again. I don’t see how it can be helpful if it makes you not fall into rem sleep. I do think people like it because it can stop night terrors or bad dreams, I get that. Just my thought from one of the former biggest stoners I know
I can weigh in on this. For the longest time I had bad insomnia. And I didn't know why. I used cannabis and it seemed to help. Recently I discovered that I am sensitive to seed/vegetable oils. Seed oils caused inflammation and my insomnia. I got off seed oils completely (it took a while). Then i got off cannabis. And I sleep fine now. I don't miss canabis because I generally feel good all the time now.
Been 3 almost 4yrs for me regularly, has helped my productivity during the day when I have a good Sativa, Hybrid or Indica to wind down the day. Have the best sleep. I guess like with all things it varies with everyone. Cannabis should not be illegal. Stay safe everyone. ❤
I have medication-induced insomnia. Pot definitely helps me sleep, at least for a few hours. It really helps with racing thoughts and anxiety at night, too, so my mind can rest. But it only lasts as long as I'm high, which is like 2-3 hours. So it's not a permnent insomnia cure. I take a prescribed medication for that. Pot is a suppliment, it doesn't do it on its own, but if you have mild or episodic insomnia due to anxiety/worry, yes, it probably will help you. Make sure you get indica, NOT sativa. Sativa is energetic and can cause anxiety and paranoia if you're prone to anxiety. Indica is relaxing.
Glad to hear it’s having that positive effect for you. I’m not a scientist but a couple things I have learned: there is 0 tangible difference between “indica” and “sativa.” The two different species of cannabis have been interbred and hybridized for so many decades that a biological distinction no longer exists. What’s more impactful on the “elevating” vs “mellowing” effect is the concentration of THCA vs other cannabanoids such as CBD. Also, I too have experienced how cannabis can work as a powerful sleep aid. But something I realized is that when I smoke before I sleep I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO DREAMS. Which is actually a serious problem because that means you’re not going into REM sleep. And REM sleep is super important for memory consolidation and emotional processing. So while cannabis might be super helpful for FALLING asleep, it’s actually kind of a hindrance to your QUALITY of sleep. The benefits might certainly put weight the drawbacks in your case and I’m not trying to tell you you’re doing ANYTHING “wrong.” But I do wish more people knew about the different ways cannabis affects sleep. E.g. I wish she talked about it more in this video.
I used it ( edibles)until I got off benzos, opiods. It can help you sleep but too much can have paradoxical effect. It definitely takes away pre-seizure aura & seizure doesn't occur. Helps with some sorts of pain but not others.
I don't need data to know that CBD works for me. The first time i took it, I felt a wave of relaxation move down through my body. It puts me quickly to sleep, and I get a deeper, more restful sleep than I have ever experienced. That said, it can build up in the system, and over time, the effects will stop. So, I take a break for a few days, and when the CBD decreases to the right level, the effects kick in again (and without taking any). It's a remarkable substance.
Restless Leg Syndrome keeps me awake. A THC/ CBD combination and now I'm using cbn also puts a stop to RLS. Its just a very mild high if any at al. I use a vape pen and one medium hit before bed. The relief is immediate.
Not the 'world's first study' did my graduate dissertation in 2018 and official scientific medical studies have been ongoing for well over 200 years. While it may help with sleep, it can also amp up your anxiety levels if you don't use the right types
From experience it helps you sleep, until you are dependant on it for sleep, then you won’t sleep without it. it also messes with your deep sleep cycle.
@@kitcrft421 I smoked for around 15 years straight, Been off for about a year now. Was crazy actually having dreams and felt really weird at first. I sleep way better now and feel more refreshed then i have in 15 years. Less anxiety as well. Might feel like it helps at first but definitely causes more issues in the long run if your prone to mental health issues.
@jamienordeen5427 they are dreams, what do u plan to do with them lol. Record it ? I understand rem is important but remembering them ? Also, sleep is better then no sleep
So I'm still looking into all this, but my experience is with edibles and over about a years use. I started seeing studies saying that it thc effects rem sleeps. The reason this interested me is I was struggling more getting up in the morning and didn't feel rested. Which created negative feelings throughout the day. I'm currently in the process of withdrawing to test this, but last night I didn't use and woke up more awake and overall feeling more awake and alive. This is anecdotal, but maybe it'll help someone.
Hmmm, I have been taking edibles 3-4 times a week for a year now and I sleep much better and wake up more refreshed than before. Tossing and turning all night every night is just horrible and exhausting.
Please sleep study THC withdrawal, when stopping after a long while of using. Wow REM disturbances galore! I'm so curious what happens with the brain while sleeping after stopping. Dreams, headaches, hot sweats...it's rough. Makes me think it's not at all good for sleep but robs us of good REM sleep.
I have found that in addition to a full spectrum of Magnesium, I only need 1mg THC to fully access 10mg CBD (both edible) to relax my body. CBN gives me a headache. I used to feel self-conscious about it until my psychiatrist agreed that it would be just fine to help get to sleep given my CPTSD. It's not for everyone, thankfully it's VERY legal here in CA, US
Using weed to fall asleep leads to lesser quality of sleep. Anyone who smokes everyday should stop and see how they feel once they get past the insomnia from withdrawal. Which stops people from even attempting it
I quit cannabis for years, got into meditation, got a good work/life balance, quit booze, quit caffeine, ate healthy food, exercised well and my insomnia could sometimes still be awful. Trust me, I really tried living like a spiritual life, and I could be up till 5am with insomnia. I got back into edibles because my asthma flared up and edibles have always been good for my lungs. The insomnia didn't go immediately, but it is so more preferable to be awake with insomnia and stoned rather than just awake with insomnia. Also, for millions of years our ancestors were nocturnal to avoid dinosaurs, so maybe insomnia is just natural.
shift worker, chronic poor sleep. cannabis edibles were very helpful, and seemed to have fewer side effects than RX meds. But 8 years in, seemed to not be as effective. Now trying to quit and having rebound insomnia- rough. would rather use cannabis or RX meds as an exception, but there is never really time to have a poor nights sleep...
it unlocks the "sleep on command" ability but you loose the dream memory, the resting long sleep and the energy at wake up. and it's hard not to smoke early if you have nothning planned. and it's just pausing things, the moment you wake up, what ever was keeping your brain awake kicks back in, full power
My body tells me when I need it. I’ll go months daily consuming cannabis for sleep, then I just instinctively know to stop for a while and sleep without it.
24 participants?. This is the most comprehensive study ever done on cannabis and insomnia?? You can barely run stats on a sample size that small, let alone obtain any statistical power. That was worthy of a Ted talk? Yikes.
Cannabis withdrawal is real. Freaky dreams for weeks I don't think it's a good choice for sleep regulation. It eventually caught up to me. Do the work of self-care and fight to sleep without THC.
THC edibles have helped my perimenopausal insomnia so much! A little 10mg gummy helps me get the greatest sleep. I have never had problems falling or staying asleep until my hormones went nuts.
You really needed to say, it really needs to be legalized so that we can conduct the proper studies because the effects are likely misunderstood and can be effect at treating many symptoms or illnesses. That last part can be edited but come on and just say it. i know how old this is but whatever.
I have insomnia and I hoped weed, specifically indica, would help me sleep. Results are mixed. I still lie awake half the night sometimes. I don't have longterm data yet because up until a few months ago I was drinking myself to sleep every night.
Aside from the fact that everyone experiences the effects of cannabis differently, I think there needs to be more research done into the paradoxical effects that seem to arise in long-term users before any definitive judgement can be made. An enormous amount of anecdotal data points to the potential for cannabis to swap its effects (i.e. causing anxiety instead of treating anxiety, or causing insomnia rather than helping insomnia) at some point in a regular user's lifetime. Many of these paradoxical effects seem to emerge most prominently among 20-somethings who previously used cannabis during their teen years, hence suggesting that perhaps its interference with brain development causes some kind of developmental disorder which leads to the paradoxical effects, although there have been a few cases where even people who are older experience the paradoxical effects. But it's not enough to look at new or infrequent users and say that their experience is universal and overall positive, particularly when certain conditions like Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) tend to emerge in chronic long-term users.
My bad dreams are gone by smoking pot every night. Granted, I don’t remember any dreams but I sleep now way better have fewer flashbacks during the days.
I'm 64 and and have had mixed results using cannabis as a sleep aid. When Arizona legalized recreational cannabis I took it in edible form (Indica) usually about 5mg. It was effective but as I expected, I developed a tolerance and it became less effective, so I often will stop using it for a while. Currently, I'm using CBD as a sleep aid. It seems to be effective. The store where I purchase my CBD gave me a sample of Delta 9 to try as a sleep aid. It was relaxing but It didn't make me sleepy, I occasionally use a hybrid edible on the weekend or if I need to get out of rut when writing music. Used judiciously, it is effective for both sleep and recreational use.
It’s not for everyone -I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it works very well; on the other hand, smoking it hurts the lungs. Edibles are crazy weird and try them / too wild for me. The way I see it; everyone is different and has multiple experiences with it and without it.
Thc will work but dose needs to be increased as effectiveness wears off. Cbd is effective, but controlled by bureaucrats to the enth degree. Probably just go for ashwaganda.
Depends where I'm from, you can get two types of weed. Locally grown (aka Shash) or imported mostly from Europe (aka loud). Shash is typically grown outside in fields and not much is done to maintain the plant. It's been that way for probably hundreds of years(I'm assuming). While smoking with my parents and grandparents, they typically say it's hasn't changed much since their younger days. I prefer this one because it often feels like a very balanced high. Loud on the other hand can be a number of different strains. I feel than smoking those once in a while is okay. There have been times when I felt nauseated.
I think if it was legal a lot more people would prefer to grow weaker strains more akin to shash for a more balanced high, modern western genetics/strains of cannabis are so thc dominant and bred for flavours/smells along with high thc for a heavy cerebral effect.. I guess that sells better and for more money but I’d love to have a more balanced high for everyday smoking
@@Sam3532in the 80s and early 90s in the UK we would what I imagine is similar to what you are taking about. It was nothing like what you get today. Thankfully Im not a teenager now with all these potent strains. Can't be good for you when you're still developing.

Reading some of the comments with the crazy spelling and grammar is a huge clue about how much weed some of these people use. I would urge people who take meds to see if weed increases the half life of their meds. It works a lot the same way grapefruit does, but not always on the same meds. A friend was taking thyroid and using weed and ended up overdosing on thyroid because the weed increased the half life. My friend lived, but that may not be the case with all drugs. Check it out people. Be safe, not sorry.
Random testing for THC in drivers has definitely resulted in more accidents caused by fatigue. RDT was introduced and the road toll has gone up. Of course correlation doesn't mean causation, but I've now returned to insomnia and daytime fatigue without my evening number. Removing thousands of stoned drivers doing 10ks under the speed limit probably didn't help either 😅.

Hope peace for you all ✌️
Proud of you

Glad you made some realizations. Cannabis can be greatly helpful, if used in strict manners. Habitually used just for fun, the high can be detrimental.
I'm getting into that boat. It has gotten far too habitual. The "high" far too brief. It becomes this boring pursuit. It cannot be "the norm" and continue to be as great as it once was..
My humble experience with insomnia (for years)
Wake up early, everyday even if you haven't had enough sleep, take a nap later after midday, but wake up early like 30min before the sunrise, try to inhale that fresh air just before the sunrise and get exposed to the light of the rising sun. I've done it for years now, best quality sleep, no more waking up at 3am questioning your existence on earth hh and better mornings especially if you take walks

I have a smile on my face when I’m falling asleep. It’s a great cozy feeling. And I wake up refreshed. I’m not a daytime vaper.
Cool , I understand that feeling of drifting off , no cumdown like beak or amphetamine.
That’s so nice. What exactly do you vape at night and how much? I’m new to this
I use a disposable vape. If you want the cleanest high, choose live rosin or live resin. Most disposable vapes are standard distillate, just THC and added terps. All those choices are better than smoking. I typically take a drag or two. It just depends on the potency and my tolerance though.
Do you vape in bed as youre about to sleep? Or do you have a mini session half hour/1hr before you go to bed?
@@jlw2826 Typically an hour or two before bed, sometimes less than that.
And I sleep like the dead most nights.🙃
It boggles my mind that something I'm growing legally on my back deck as I type. Is such a spectacle of controversy elsewhere in the world.

The drug was only part of the war on rugs (might as well have been) because foreigners in the US used it and they wanted to get back at them. And then everyone followed the US' lead... Even thought there was millennia of usage in some countries.

I temporarily quit cannabis and my sleep improved. My dreams became very vivid. I started again and my sleep isn't as good and no more dreams.

I've been smoking for ~40 years. I'll save you a ton of research funds. The answer is yes, it does help sleeping.
It does but the quality of sleep is abysmal
For certain people . I cannot sleep on weed of any strain or delivery system.

What kind do you use
Helps me sleep, all night. I eat it. Have used since a teenager. I’m 70 years old.
I quit for a week after about 25 years of daily use. The dreams came back, so i started smoking again. I like not dreaming.
everyone who sold it knows you get called at night by people who need cannabis to sleep, many get really crazy about it. It is maybe the most dependent experience people have with cannabis. You fall asleep quick, you won't dream as much or not remembering your dreeams at all and you can feel a little hangover when waking up. It is an effective treatment for symptoms but impedes the progress to get "cured".
All day everyday, sleep well, wake up early and repeat. If it's not for you, don't use it.
THC does initiate sleep but it interferes with REM sleep. Consequently less dreaming. Dreaming helps us resolve stress
What's REM sleep?
I’ve personally found that Indica is quite a powerful sleep aid, it induces a sudden fatigue in me that prompts my body and therefore mind into a deep slumber.
Although I feel like I’ve gotten a restful night‘s sleep, there’s something missing from the full experience had I done it sans Marijuana.
Same. Indica has helped me sleep but sativa not so much? I hear the difference is a body high vs a head high. Not sure how true that is
@@neilisalive4892 I concur with that study, sativa is definitely a head high.
@@stephaneboisjoli1320yeah especially when it comes to buying non-flower like distillates and shatter, it's typically a hybrid of both types
"Too much of anything, Lieutenant, even love, is not necessarily a good thing."--James T. Kirk
Aye, Sir! 😊

Great Talk, THANK YOU
It helps but you have to find the right formula. I have had success after trying a few different ratios.
You need RSO / Phoenix tears to do the job. You will be knocked out 8-9 hours straight . You need higher concentration of THC

It can help you sleep but
too much can have paradoxical effect. It definitely takes away pre-seizure
aura & seizure doesn't occur.
Thanks a lot for this video

So I'm still looking into all this, but my experience is with edibles and over about a years use. I started seeing studies saying that it thc effects rem sleeps. I'm currently in the process of withdrawing to test this, but last night I didn't use and woke up more awake and overall feeling more awake and alive. This is anecdotal, but maybe it'll help someone.

It's not for everyone, thankfully it's VERY legal here in CA, US
Good presentation and good explanation ❤❤❤
First video I have watched on this topic that hasn’t mentioned the impact of THC on REM sleep
Weed is money and lies now days
THC blocks REM sleep and therefore you don't dream. I prefer this over night terrors. 😮
Yes, but REM sleep is important. It is not healthy if you are not getting REM sleep.
I hope it is also legal in my country, I really need this plant😢

You really needed to say, it really needs to be legalized so that we can conduct the proper studies because the effects are likely misunderstood and can be effect at treating many symptoms or illnesses. That last part can be edited but come on and just say it. i know how old this is but whatever.
Very interesting. Thank you, good talk.
I have insomnia and I hoped weed, specifically indica, would help me sleep. Results are mixed. I still lie awake half the night sometimes. I don't have longterm data yet because up until a few months ago I was drinking myself to sleep every night.
And, it confuses the issue when we talk about cannabis generally it is much more useful to address specific cannabinoids.
I know it makes me sleep much better.. more definitely!!!!

You bet it does, I sleep like a baby. Love Cannabis since mid 90s
Thc will work but dose needs to be increased as effectiveness wears off. Cbd is effective, but controlled by bureaucrats to the enth degree. Probably just go for ashwaganda.
King's Park. Wow, I went there when I lived in Perth for a year. Next to the university I think.
How can you not know the difference between a placebo and THC laced medication?
Where are you from? I’ve never heard the term shash, I’ve heard of bhang in India..
@lido160 Your family sounds incredibly cool!
You're so fortunate to have the possibility of smoking a joint with your parents without any judgment. Love from Brazil!
@@Sam3532in the 80s and early 90s in the UK we would what I imagine is similar to what you are taking about. It was nothing like what you get today.
Thankfully Im not a teenager now with all these potent strains. Can't be good for you when you're still developing.
as a s )moker for the last 25 years , when i do smoke i sleep like a husband, when i dont smoke my sleep is very light and full of intense dreams. Also i have the experience of smoking a lot for long periods, and then stop smoking and didnt even think about it ( i mean i was not addicted !)
How fast do you build a tolerance to delta 8 and 9?
Reading some of the comments with the crazy spelling and grammar is a huge clue about how much weed some of these people use.
I would urge people who take meds to see if weed increases the half life of their meds. It works a lot the same way grapefruit does, but not always on the same meds. A friend was taking thyroid and using weed and ended up overdosing on thyroid because the weed increased the half life. My friend lived, but that may not be the case with all drugs. Check it out people. Be safe, not sorry.
Cannabis has an additive effect on most medications and supplements.
Agreed, while there can be benefits in certain cases we cannot automatically decree something safe without proper testing
Does it help with long covid/vax insomnia?
Random testing for THC in drivers has definitely resulted in more accidents caused by fatigue. RDT was introduced and the road toll has gone up. Of course correlation doesn't mean causation, but I've now returned to insomnia and daytime fatigue without my evening number. Removing thousands of stoned drivers doing 10ks under the speed limit probably didn't help either 😅.
NO BRAINER - thank god for thc. Sleep is the most important part of our day (and I don't enjoy dreams/nightmares, which the thc blocks).
I can answer this question. Yes, it helps you sleep. No question about it.
Hey guys, I know nothing about the market and I'm looking to invest, any help? As well who can I reach out to?
The stock market rally run is gone, but I'm not sure if equities will swiftly recover, keep falling, or fluctuate in a narrow range for a few weeks, or if things will quickly get worse. I'm under pressure to increase my $300k reserve.
That's true. Its really needful for beginners not to settle for videos alone or they will see themselves losing all their money just like me when I newly started trading with this videos here on UA-cam
I agree with you! With his help, I diversified my 450k portfolio among different markets. During this bearish market period, I was able to produce a net profit of little over $1 million from high dividend yield stocks, ETFs and equity. However, the reality is that you cannot do it without a tried-and-true trading coach like Julio Castillo
HE'S ALWAYS ACTIVE ON HIS TELEGRAMS APP AND WHATSAPP WITH THE PROVIDED NAME AND NUMBER 👇

regarding edibles, anecdotal but... for whatever reason the oils didnt work well at all for sleep compared to home made processed bud with butter.I would get stoned but not particularly sleepy... I tried the oils 4x- different types and was very motivated or hopeful they would work - convenience and consistent dosing.
am I the only one?
I usually wake up after 4-5 hrs and that's it. For the holidays I got some weed, and immediately was sleeping like a rock for 7 to 8 hours. I'm out now and I'm back to 4 -5 again. So by my personal independent study. It helps me sleep.👍
