@andybreedlove it was chaos. Constant anxiety, fight/flight, catastrophising constantly. I could never relax. I was also an alcoholic. Stopped drinking. Started daily meditation practice. Healed myself. Got healthy. Lost weight. Got fit. Ate better. Smoke every day, use oil every night. It's allowed me to discover there is no separation between mind/body. Got in touch with myself on a deep level. Its 💯 isn't for everyone. But for lots of us, it's a non negotiable. I have a family, run a successful business and work hard everyday. Cannabis isn't the demon it's been made out to be. I hope you find some comfort in that. There's a way to heal. Good luck and take care.
@andybreedlove hi there. Typed a response but it seems to be not there now. I was in a constant state of stress. Fight/Flight. Could never relax. I know it's only anecdotal, but I've come back to health. It's not just cannabis. It's been a u-turn in life with a focus on overall healthy living. Once I wasn't stressed I could get healthy. I calmed my nervous system and found rest. I don't care what anyone says, cannabis is a gateway drug to getting back to a healthy life.
@@jordanmc5340 thank you - so, using weed helped calm your fight/flight and centre yourself where before you couldn’t?..then allowed things to slowly get better across life? That’s the key.. @@jordanmc5340hi again, hope you don’t mind a message.. I wondered how long after starting to use marijuana before you got some shifts and healing? I’ve been smoking a little for a few days, and I mean a little as my body is super hypersensitive to everything (nervous system tanked).. and it’s had some tiny noticeable effects on my mood and being able to control my thoughts/rationalise a bit, and I can feel my nervous system ‘trying’ to calm down a % or 2.. So, I wondered if you noticed it was cumulative in that over time you made gains, settled nervous system slowly..or was it quite quick to get life going in your case? Was it small gains in calming, lower fear, sleep and mood, etc that grew? Anything you would share about it would be welcomed. I’m on my healing journey, but at the beginning somewhat. Thanks 👊🏻
Cannabis kept my grandfather with lung cancer alive for a few extra weeks, and he was happy for those last few weeks. I discovered that weed chilled out my anxiety from years abuse at home and after years of being told to see the world in my abusers image I was able to slow down enough to see the world on my own. And even when I'd sober up I'd still see the world differently after. Now the use has shifted to creating artwork while high, sitting down for hours and pouring my soul into this art and the results are so rewarding.
I have smoked Cannabis for 10 years (I'm 28), and I am one of the healthiest persons I know... I haven't had a cold or been sick for over 3 years. I attribute my health to constant exercise, drinking lots of water, spending time in nature, taking care of my, and taking care of my relationships with others. I suspect I could add cannabis to that list.
@@keshavjoshi2108 I wouldn't recommend you smoke cannabis unless it serves a purpose for you. It's not addictive, but it is a habit that you can 100% do without. What makes you want to start?
Certainly soothes the depressive monotony of living in times that require complete submission of primal instincts and the willingness to play society’s games in order to be at peace. The proper, learnable perspectives cannabis brings are only distinguishable by fit, open minds, and those with the intellect to control the thought process programming. Others (majority) find it overwhelming, or just a toy to play with, always unaware of the potential. Cannabis never hurt anyone beyond their sober intentions, contrarily healing and soothing poor conditions for a better life. Even when they’re completely unaware and consuming for any reason, as long as they live a healthy life and practice moderation.
I kind of knew this, but never was this explained in such understandable words. I've been using cannabis for my ptsd and i feel good and happy, then because of the stigma, I'm afraid to shout this out in the world. But this saved my life, and I'm so happy it has.

After my last bout with Diverticulitis, I began intermittent fasting, a low carb diet, and enjoying a fine Sativa daily. Hand to God, never felt better..
Dr Berg subscriber? Intermittent fasting is the healing. Balance of mind, body and spirit is the cure. Resetting the gut and allowing the bacteria to balance rids inflammation, the "itis" in diverticulitis. Low carb results in less conversion to sugar which means lower insulin in the body which also lowers inflammation. Lower inflammation results in lower cortisol. I use sativa daily as well. Think about saying "I have to do the dishes" and "I get to to the dishes" either way the dishes get done ... but how does each statement make you feel? Each time a thought is made with reluctance or aggression ... we produce bio chemicals that attack the body ... in the same regard having caring or positive thoughts our body also makes bio chemicals but these have healing and positive effects to our bodies. It is like putting a drop of water in your car EVERYDAY. It wont hurt the first day, first week, or month ... but after years it will have an effect to your car. WE HAVE MILLIONS OF THOUGHT A DAY and EACH thought produces bio chemicals... think about it.
She was talking about the guy who died days after he was convinced the serum was fake. You see examples in life of people, usually couples, that die within days of each other, of natural causes. I don't think what's happening is that these people are willing themselves to die, so much as they've been willing themselves to stay alive as long as that other person is there to make them want to keep living. As soon as that person is gone, they lose that will and their body stops fighting to stay alive. You see it in couples. You saw it with Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds too. The mind is super-powerful.

I used cannabis for the first time when I was 24, and use it occasionally after that until I was 30. Around when I was 31 I started using it almost everyday. I am 38 now, and I have been without it for around 6 months now (I miss it so bad), this because it started causing problems in my marriage (although my wife met me when I was using it everyday). My problem is that one part of me feels that cannabis makes a better person and it helps with the wiring of my brain so much, but the other part of me tells me that I am an addict. This is a Bad Crossroad.....
I am at the same crossroads of feeling guilty, but if it's helping me be a better person in general and actually happy, I dont see why it would be an issue or something bad. It's literally saving my life and helping me to unpack things that I've mentally struggled with for a long time. I guess it goes along with the thing people say all the time like, "if you're not hurting anyone and its helping you, then it's okay."
There are studies that have shown that weed can actually be used as an anti-depressant. Especially for people who have depression. *micro-dosing so in small amounts regularly, large amounts can cause psychosis. I can actually attest to this it's changed my life and I'm so grateful.
bi-phasic means that action potential ( certain biochemical pathways in the cell being metabolized into) created from exacting amounts ( say 30mg) being ingested can change based on the amount being ingested ( say 300mg) ... all of the effects of metabolizing cannabis phytocannabinoids are down stream effects, ( down regulatory ) acting as second messengers ( depolarization induces signaling) in the endocannabinoid system ... take micro dosing as an example , just enough being ingested to barely activate the cb receptors ... take a large dose of RSO/FECO as another example , up to 3000mg being ingested at once ... the micro dose makes more of the endogenous types of lipid signaling ( more endocannabinoids) while the massive dose acts as its own metabolite being expressed on the cb receptors so instead of more endocannabinoids being created phytocannabinoids are in those cb pathways instead so bi-phasic ... I think that explains it well just this info is so complex ... anything you learn about it will be so far ahead of anyone else * cb receptors are cannabinoid receptors

I been using cannabis (micro-moderate) dosage almost everyday and it has lifted that sad/grey/emptiness feelings with a lot of success and cannot recommend it enough
The most important thing about cannabis is understanding how it causes so much instantaneous emotional turmoil and emotional relief in different people. This is the most important question vis-a-vis the endocannabinoid system as far as I'm concerned.
Very well put, thank you. I used to really enjoy cannabis. I still love and hold a lot of appreciation for the plant, but i haven't used it in over a year, because i am now that person who experiences quite a bit of turmoil and anxiety from using it. Makes me a little sad. And i do wonder often, what am i missing out on health-wise? My EC system and such..
Emotions are apparently linked to the vagus nerve... some people are too emotional, like empaths, aspies, borderlines, etc who are perfectly aware of their emotions, often too much to the point they can't control them and may be overwhelmed, while others are on the opposite situation like narcissists, who master their emotions (and those of others), but have more difficulties to feel and analyse them... Most people are between these extremes when it comes to emotions. Maybe the first category should try to 'grow a spine' to better channel these forces instead of smoking... not sure how to do that, I think introspection is the way, paying more attention to your inner being and what happens inside instead of focusing on thoughts and the external world - when it's not needed.
Great speech Elise!!! I love it. Thank you so much for it. You going to become a role model for many people that suffer from cancer. That's exactly what you have to do. Change your mind change your life. Thank you Elise.

Problem with ‘seeing your Dr’ is very few are trained in the endocannabinoid system, certainly here in the UK. I don’t see the relevance of incorporating ‘exercise’ into the endocannabinoid ‘stool’ balance. I have a friend that according to Drs and specialists was on his deathbed with a rare form of blood cancer. He started taking THC and CBD base cannabis medication and with three weeks was up out of his bed. He attended some tests appointment and the ‘specialists’ were amazed to see he had walked in to the ward without aid. When they asked him what he had been doing to change his health he refused to tell them, on the third time he agreed to tell them, once he mentioned cannabis, three of the specialists walked away saying they didn’t want to hear such nonsense. Why? Because it doesn’t compute with their training (or no training of the endocannabinoid system). He was in no state to exercise but cannabis treatment got him out his deathbed, five years on and he is still going. Here in the UK THC based cannabis is outlawed yet GW Pharmaceuticals is owned by an MP’s (Member of Parliament) husband, they have a license to grow acres of THC based cannabis yet the same woman voted in parament that cannabis has no medical value. The cannabis is shipped to America where it is transformed into various medical products. Governments - the handbrake of humanity!
@@pedclarkemobile That is correct, GW Pharma, the husband of an MP is the CEO, yet she voted that cannabis has no medicinal value, go figure! The cannabis gets shipped to the USA to some big pharma making cannabis medical products. Governments = the handbrake of humanity
@@2imaginecouk467 I thought GW made sativex in UK. They grow 2 clone only cultivars, one high THC, one high CBD then extract before blending the two extracts to get the desired THC:CBD ratio. (2:1 if memory serves). The hypocrisy is shameful.

I strongly agree with all that was said here, but I'd like you to consider that our thoughts are the true key to this connection of wellness. There is a pure, loving, divine, life force energy, that flows to and through, each and every cell in our bodies and connects us all. And when you love yourself, first and foremost...you are connected to that energy, and you will feel an inner peace and guidance regardless of what is happening around you. When you love yourself you will care about how you feel in each and every moment. This it truly magical, and it's the key that will create more joy in your day, and as the momentum picks up, it will lead to a joyful life!I As we learn to be authentic and honor our temple, this amazing and complex community of cells that we are, we will have less stress in our lives, we will care for our bodies more, and we will get the necessary exercise as we connect to our unlimited potential. The new science of epigenetics is proving this. Blessings to you for your journey in helping others become more aware of the benefits of cannabis. I myself am a strong proponent of it for treatment of fibromyalgia, and migraine headaches. And it's also drastically alleviated the severe pain from kidney stones. May your journey continue to expand and may your life be full of joy and abundance.
What an excellent metaphor for describing the endocannabinoid system. A large majority of plants are toxic to humans, even the ones we derive medicines from. This makes cannabis a member of a rare minority of plants that have a minimal comparative toxicity. I can't wait until a comprehensive nutritional study of cannabis as a food is available....it's the least discussed possibility of cannabis uses. I typically vaporize it to stimulate appetite and quell nausea due to gastroparesis. You see, I'm missing my colon for 6 years now....I'd likely weigh 90 lbs without it's benefit, and at 6ft tall I think you get the picture. I'm personally uninterested in anyone's negative view of my use of cannabis, but I typically don't discuss my health regimens to begin with. Additionally, I prefer to grow my own. It provides a sense of accomplishment and self sufficiency that have their own spectrum of benefits, as well as confidence in how the plant was treated when grown. Cannabis is an "accumulator", much like tomatoes...if it's in the soil, it ends up in the plant. In my experience, cannabis grown organically produces more natural terpene profiles and a more nuanced entourage effect that is presented across particular genetic strains. I'm not opposed to western medicine in the least, nor do I subscribe to homeopathic only approaches to healthcare, but it is a little dissatisfying that science and medicine seem incapable of recognizing that nature can occasionally render something that can be a medicine that doesn't benefit from being broken down into its constituent components and reorganized into a quantifiable substance that perhaps loses its level of efficacy to effect a system that is, itself, all about biological balance. A little ironic in a way if you think about it. Cannabis isn't going to be a good choice to use for some, and it certainly isn't a medical panacea, but it certainly is a uniquely useful plant.
cannabis is a Treasure trove of biological meds . can even be selectively bred for traits to suit the person ingesting it etc ..... and as you mention the approach matters ( literally solid matter ) ... how we ingest the plant determines results ... and yo will not find whole plant studies as there is so much in the plant we cannot study it all in one test or whatever ... the closest to that would be observing a person ingesting juiced cannabis . maybe set them up in whole foods market on a stand so everyone in there can look up to them as High and mighty and ingesting Raw plant juices !!
I totally agree, I’ve been smoking for a few years occasionally I grow my own along side my tomatoes and other fresh veg. it truely blossomed I wanted to try something I grew myself for our own use, knowing exactly it’s origins and found it to be nothing but positive my sleep is totally relaxed and calm and uninterrupted, my stress levels even, I suffered a breakdown three years again due to work place bullying, the dr gave me many different pills to help ease the anxiety, which left me flat and still so distressed. on my own personal research I tried smoking a small amount as not a smoker by choice, and the affects were outstanding for me my anxiety levels dropped so much once my mind was clear I was able to get back to myself it didn’t happen over night but using it when I got to a point of I give up I can’t change my thoughts I felt very broken. it definitely gave me enough space to rebuild my confidence and get back on the horse basically. I have learnt now how to make into butter and use in a biscuit form or cake which I find easier for me i got better and feel in full swing again I use now and again with no shame, and can’t wait till we remove the stigma the pills are gone the counselling. I’m strong and again taking my place in the world, I don’t drink I choose this. and am just waiting for the country to see the benefits I also don’t hide it when asked.

many are now discovering that microdosing [cannabis and it's individual components] opens a plethora of helpful effects without many of the side effects of the higher doses. 1 mg and sub milligram doses of THC full spectrum product has helped numerous individuals I know, from sleep to PTSD to nausea to pain and even raises creativity and lessens depression, with minimal or no side effects.
Weed did NOT work for me, yeah it was fun for a while but long term it only amplified insecurities, changed who I was on a daily basis for the worse and made me depressed. I’m not against it I’m just saying that everyone is different and you shouldn’t justify to yourself that you’ll feel better after smoking because maybe you won’t and thats okay I strongly prefer lsd, it has been extremely therapeutic for me, I never take high doses and limit my exposure to only a few times a year. For the love of god DONT take too much you can overstimulate your brain and burnout, like alcohol poisoning. Just start small and work up, as long as you’re in control and with friends you’ll feel more connected to them and become more holistic in your outlook which can certainly introduce more positivity into your life. Mushrooms yanked me out of depression overnight. Absolutely terrifying (darkest longest nights of my depression) and haven’t taken it since but it saved m life because I was suicidal. Lsd will change the way you see the world, mushrooms will change the way you see yourself.

Once you’ve reached a certain point in your spiritual path taking drugs like weed are the most unappealing things you could do. There’s nothing more precious than that pure I AM awareness that everyone has access to. Not dissing smokers lol just food for thought
A spiritual belief is just another replacement for what drugs do, you are not dealing with the problem just masking a deep wound with a little plaster that'll last for a little while.
If you want to diss smokers be honest about it. There are many lives in which there is so much unrelenting pain that ‘mindfulness’ is more energy consuming than replenishing. You are apparently fortunate enough to have peaceful space around you. Most of us might not. I have an antique pipe stand which declares smoke and be happy. Smoke and be happy.

The claim that cannabis works for some people it doesn’t for other people is complete bogus. If you notice the people that are uncomfortable with cannabis are typically the ones that never do it and they take way too much.
So, I wondered if you noticed it was cumulative in that over time you made gains, settled nervous system slowly..or was it quite quick to get life going in your case?

Certainly soothes the depressive monotony of living in times that require complete submission of primal instincts and the willingness to play society’s games in order to be at peace.

I CAN RELATE !!!

I can actually attest to this it's changed my life and I'm so grateful.
cannabis is bi-phasic , meaning that amounts ingested can have reverse effects . check out article Taming THC by Russo .
@@mcozy333 kindly explain further 😅
bi-phasic means that action potential ( certain biochemical pathways in the cell being metabolized into) created from exacting amounts ( say 30mg) being ingested can change based on the amount being ingested ( say 300mg) ... all of the effects of metabolizing cannabis phytocannabinoids are down stream effects, ( down regulatory ) acting as second messengers ( depolarization induces signaling) in the endocannabinoid system ...
take micro dosing as an example , just enough being ingested to barely activate the cb receptors ... take a large dose of RSO/FECO as another example , up to 3000mg being ingested at once ... the micro dose makes more of the endogenous types of lipid signaling ( more endocannabinoids) while the massive dose acts as its own metabolite being expressed on the cb receptors so instead of more endocannabinoids being created phytocannabinoids are in those cb pathways instead so bi-phasic ... I think that explains it well just this info is so complex ... anything you learn about it will be so far ahead of anyone else
* cb receptors are cannabinoid receptors

@@2imaginecouk467 I thought GW made sativex in UK. They grow 2 clone only cultivars, one high THC, one high CBD then extract before blending the two extracts to get the desired THC:CBD ratio. (2:1 if memory serves).
The hypocrisy is shameful.
Found your videos interesting to watch. I can't wait to see your new video soon. Good Luck with the upcoming update. This video is very useful, interesting, and effective.
where did you find info on a new video ? a ted talk or somewhere else ? thanks
Cannabis is an amazing plant.
Thank you so much for this video. Amazing research ! 🙏❤️
Before I was using marijuana, I was a wreck, I had really bad lower back pain and was really depressed but now I use it twice a day and I feel great.
THANK YOU 🙏
That was amazing, Elise! I could have used this talk when I was first learning about the ECS.
Thank you so much @D. Wetherington!
Weed made me feel like I was immersed in my own body, I could vividly feel the way my muscles and fascia rested on my bones and the way the blood is pumped through each vessel. I was more aware in the moment, so aware of my surroundings as well, this stuff is tough

I genuinely think, my dad who had cancer would be alive if the doctors said “the cause of your health is from a lifelong choice of your diet” rather than tell him to quit marijuana and eat stevia and margarine instead of using butter.” My daddy was an angel, smoked daily, and always gave back to society. They should of just let him smoke his pot. He was never the same after he listened to them.
I witnessed so many end of life patients who used cannabis to treat intractable pain the opioids couldn’t touch. Many who used cannabis to treat end of life anxiety as well.
cannabis is preventative medicine too ... preventing the very disease we wait to have and then treat ourselves for later
I’m with severe ptsd, bedridden, somatic symptoms, pain, fear and just losing out.. I used to smoke for years and had the most productive life - but now sober after a huge crash, I believe I need it again. I’m super sensitive to light, people, agaorophobic and just lost. I’m hoping it gives me some of my life back again, but am starting at a very compromised place so scared to try it 😮
I recently learned about the ECS as a part of discovering how cancer patients have used Cannabis Oil to help cure themselves. I've also read up on mind-body therapy. This talk is great on how it integrated all this together. Most cancer patients that have utilized Cannabis Oil have also changed their diets.
Great speaker and a beautiful message:) Thank you so much
Studies, various work and regulatory processes matter. So many things.
Deepen the integration of your mind and body by letting them share a joint (or tincture, edible, etc). So much to think about! Thanks for sharing :)
I’ve had some valuable experiences since I started smoking 💯
Truely feel that your phisical health, illnesses and many times even accidents all manifest from specific emotional or mental conditions. When you discover the specific emotional connection and how you basically did it to yourself it is completely redeeming and magically healing. It's like when the demon is reveal the illnesses starts to heal. Also life long pot user and it can be key to the whole process.
Scrolling through all the comments. This one really hit home for me. I discovered the same exact thing. "you basically did it to yourself" "the demon is reveal" No more needs to be said. Thanks for writing this.
one of the most under-rated talks ever!
In 2017 I had a traumatic brain injury andi had to relearn to walk, talk, write, everything . He said I would never walk agsin. I'm only on a permanent feeding tube but I did start walking talking and everything else pretty much again! I started cannabis and all of the parkinsonian shakes from the brain lesion being on the base of my brain completely go away when I do. It's the craziest thing. But it really medically works.

You have to love and you have to believe. If you don't believe you have a chance, then you don't. If you lose your will in life, the body will perish. The mind is a great power. People do not realize how much it is capable of. You are in control. You just have to believe you are capable, or that magic is real, or that the universe is listening. Only then will you hear it. Only then will your mind show you how magically it can heal, grow, accomplish. The body will be resilient if you're motivated enough to keep living and fighting.
Being happy is being healthy. The mind is so much more powerful than we know!
no. not at all. alot of happy people get sick and die from horrible diseases and a lot of children are being born with crippling diseases, but they should just think happy thoughts right Peter?
Great talk!! I use full spectrum CBD oil both topically and orally to treat my psoriasis. It has been amazing!!

ingesting cannabis plant adds plasticity to our cells ... that equates to learning and adaptation in our cells ... information being metabolized
You are a wonderful speaker.
I been using one drop of Cbd at night and morning. I’m very sensitive to Cbd . Can’t use THC as it induces psychosis in me.
But Cbd helps my mood. Only microdoses as too much makes me sleepy.
many are now discovering that microdosing [cannabis and it's individual components] opens a plethora of helpful effects without many of the side effects of the higher doses. 1 mg and sub milligram doses of THC full spectrum product has helped numerous individuals I know, from sleep to PTSD to nausea to pain and even raises creativity and lessens depression, with minimal or no side effects.
thank you
Weed did NOT work for me, yeah it was fun for a while but long term it only amplified insecurities, changed who I was on a daily basis for the worse and made me depressed.
As someone who is a daily 2 hour a day mantra meditation practitioner. I can objectively there is basically nothing that can conpare to this in terms of serious practices. That will heal you mentally.

Just say yes to cannabis.
Once you’ve reached a certain point in your spiritual path taking drugs like weed are the most unappealing things you could do. There’s nothing more precious than that pure I AM awareness that everyone has access to. Not dissing smokers lol just food for thought
cannabis is a beneficial lipid ... a medical terpene ...
A spiritual belief is just another replacement for what drugs do, you are not dealing with the problem just masking a deep wound with a little plaster that'll last for a little while.
@@Mike1Lawless we are so much more than we can possibly believe ... our belief system limits us in every way
If you want to diss smokers be honest about it.
@@Mike1Lawless a true spiritual path is abandonment of all beliefs, an abandonment of all mind made constructions, and a fearless dive into the depths of awareness.

Wow, this was a very interesting talk!
The claim that cannabis works for some people it doesn’t for other people is complete bogus. If you notice the people that are uncomfortable with cannabis are typically the ones that never do it and they take way too much. Also if you are the type of person who is egotistic and cares too much about what other people think about them, they will not have a good time this forces you to look inside and you become humble and more of your inner child can come out. It is a gift
I guess some people’s inner child happen to be schizophrenic
