It is a hair band and it’s nothing wrong about it shut the fuck up whats with all you under motley crue lizzy borden ratt wasp dokken winger saying it’s not glam metal?then what is it you big scientist?mongolian throat singing?asshole
Tesla is the most underrated hard rock band from the 80’s. Check out Comin at ya live, Mama’s Fool or Call it What You Want for three killer songs.🔥🎧👍😎
Don’t forget their live acoustic album, Five Man Acoustical Jam! That one rocks, too, and really shows off their crazy good chops!! Album was released in 1990.
This band was one of the first to break from hair/glam bands. They didn't wear tight leather or spandex with glitter and studded bracelets and make up. They just wore regular T-shirts and jeans. It was refreshing for that young 16-year old boy that I was. They were just a simple plug-and-play heavy rock with a real message. It was nearing the end of 80's the sound, and soon a new sound would be on the horizon and just around the corner. Nirvana.
Gentleman, you must hear "Cumin' Atcha Live", they started their shows with it, and it rocks. I saw many bands back in the day - ended-up catching Tesla 4 times due to them opening for the band I was there to see - they never got the recognition they deserved. You guys need some more April Wine in your lives, like "Weeping Widow" (one of my faves) or "Oowatanite" (great radio hit) Stay cool in the 502.
It's about time someone played one of the better Tesla songs. Early and awesome.... This entire album is amazing and definitely my personal favorite. Beginning to end
Tesla is from El Dorado Hills California the lead guitarist of Frank Hannah a very accomplished guitar player and one hell of a nice guy I've known him now for 10 years they were the first band to do MTV Unplugged
Tesla has always been such a fantastic rock band. Their lyrics can tackle some pretty serious issues and can be kinda deep. But Franky Hannon on guitar always blew my mind. Such an amazing talent.
Saw these guys live! So great! They still tour today! One of the best bands out there! They still have hair.....but there is much more to Tesla than hair!
My favorite Tesla song, hands down! I’m a 80’s girl so I like that “cheesy” 80’s sound! Lol 🤔 Not sure if you’ve done Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top… what a great song if you haven’t! My son is a Marine and that’s his ring tone in my phone! 😉 Keep up the great work guys
Tesla has a song called Gettin Better, they filmed the video in Coatesville Pa. my hometown at a place called The Stage, I worked at a Hardware Store across the street from The Stage , the road manager for Tesla came into the store and needed Bolts, Nuts and lock washers because they lost the hardware for the stage they were preforming on in transit, they bought the hardware and the road manager asked the store manager if he could borrow two guys to help build the stage so myself and a buddy of mine, co-worker built the stage for Tesla, we met the band, we are in the video and we drank all night and partied with this rock band Tesla , it was a great experience
Great band, one of my favorite. Check out another amazing hard rock band Winger - Blind Revolution Mad, Junkyard Dog and In my Vein. You'll never regret.
I listen to Tesla almost daily. Never tire. They simply kick ass. They've got so much more "the way it is" and "what you give." 2 of my favs, check them out please
Seen them many times in concert and they are great. Jeff Keith has more energy than any other singer I've seen. They did a great cover of Signs on their Acoustic performance that is great and I have always liked Heaven's Trail (No Way Out). They just have a number of great songs. They never really fit in the hair band category; even though it looks like someone styled them that way for the video.
The whole album is great, front to back,3 guitarists really drive home that hard rock sound, yes they have many songs with the acoustic guitar thrown in and even better solos
Yes, Frank Hannon plays acoustic and electric on-stage, as you saw at the end. Tesla is easily one of the top 5 80's bands, period. You should check out their song "Paradise" next.
I have heard of Tesla but never really paid much attention to them until I found them doing "Modern Day Cowboy" on your channel. I'm not a real big heavy metal fan but I do like what I heard from Tesla. Also big fans of Al Stewart like you guys, me included, will be performing September 15 at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, 32 miles East of Pittsburgh. Wonder if he will be performing " Year of the Cat" and "Time Passages". LOL.
I'm not normally into this kind of sound, but even I loved it from the first listen right on to today 30+ years later. Thanks for checking this out, gentlemen. Not to hijack your post here, but not sure where else to request. If u haven't already, can u check out some classic Bob Seger sometime soon? Thx for considering.
Long time Tesla fan here and Song & Emotion might be their best song IMO. Psychotic Supper is their best album start to finish. Love the Tesla reactions.
Tesla is kinda in the same boat as Guns N Roses in that they played Bluesy Hard Rock. That's what set GnR apart from all the other Hair Metal bands at the time. They had a very Bluesy sound to their music, and it was something new, except for Tesla which came out a year before that. I think Tesla did it slightly better though by incorporating acoustic guitar into their heavier songs as well.
I take it this was a respect song aimed at Ronald Reagan who was the president during the Cold War with USSR. Reagan was a movie star from the 50's and he was in a bunch of westerns. I personally think that he was telling Russia, don't mess with America because there is a cowboy in the White House. Could be completely wrong, but that was my take when it came out.
Most of us learned about the man Tesla from the band Tesla, Edison's Medicine (read lyrics) also told us about him on Album Cover. Song that fits today, "Flight to No Where"
Tesla was not “HAIR” Metal…Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue said they were the Farmers of Hard Rock!!! Blue Jeans…T Shirts…Kicked ASS!!! Songs-Hang Tough…..but should check out Song And Emotion!! Tribute to Steve Clarke of Def Leppard….they toured together…became Brothers!!👍🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Also try, Cumin Atcha Live, Little Suzi, Heaven's Trail, Had Enough, I Wanna Live, and you may as well also check out Signs, which was a cover, but a huge hit.
Brian is the bassist. Tommy Skeoch and Frank Hannon are guitarists. Tommy was kicked out in the mid 90's due to his drug habit and Dave Rude replaced him
Most underrated bands of the late 80s,/90s. By the way, NOT A HAIR BAND!
Yes, sooo underrated
Thank you!
It is a hair band and it’s nothing wrong about it shut the fuck up whats with all you under motley crue lizzy borden ratt wasp dokken winger saying it’s not glam metal?then what is it you big scientist?mongolian throat singing?asshole
Totally agree with you on that! Not glam rock, not hair metal either. Traditional hard rock and Metal.
NOT a hair band. 100%
Tesla is the most underrated hard rock band from the 80’s. Check out Comin at ya live, Mama’s Fool or Call it What You Want for three killer songs.🔥🎧👍😎
Mama's Fool is my favorite by Tesla.
Wife here..,My Husband and I saw these guys Live..Myrtle Beach SC ..a couple years ago..They were AMAZING..Pure 🔥 FIRE...!!!
Don’t forget their live acoustic album, Five Man Acoustical Jam! That one rocks, too, and really shows off their crazy good chops!!
Album was released in 1990.

Wife here..My Husband and I always talk about how they bridged that Gap!!
Gentleman, you must hear "Cumin' Atcha Live", they started their shows with it, and it rocks.

Tesla is from El Dorado Hills California the lead guitarist of Frank Hannah a very accomplished guitar player and one hell of a nice guy I've known him now for 10 years they were the first band to do MTV Unplugged
Frank and Brian are from South Sacramento, I went to high school with them. Not El Do Hills.
Love Tesla…..Top 5 American rock band imo……Lots of bangers to go on your playlist….”Cuming at you Live” is solo heaven !
This song is ALWAYS on my play list! Great 80s metal tune.
A quintessential of any 80s metal catalog.
I saw them at age 16 (1987) and again in 2012, they sound exactly like this when they're live and they do switch guitars mid song.
"Edison's Medicine" is another good one from Tesla.
SO MANY great songs , and sounds great live as well!
It’s about damn time someone hit this band. Lots of bangers. Hang Tough is good. I like Song and Emotion too.
Don't forget about the hit "Little Suzi". How can one not groove to that? :)
Wow those are my 2 fave tesla songs song and emotion and hang tough 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Comin atcha live and EZ come EZ go as well. Giant library of great songs!
Btw way Al Capone is mentioned in “Stone Cold Crazy” just saying. -Queen , then covered by Metallica
Edison’s medicine!!!
Loved this reaction. The stiff steady headbanging when the main riff kicks in was also my natural reaction when I heard it for the first time.
The acoustic guitar is mounted on a stand that Frank(Hannon) can walk up to it.
Song and Emotion, Call It What You Want, What You Give, Paradise.
Great band. First three albums total "bangers". They still sound great in concert.
They did do that live. I saw them live.. It was killer! 80's were great man!
Totally agree with the comments about them being totally underrated!!! Great band!
As a 48 year old rock fan, when I look and see 3 young dudes head bobbin and grinning I think to myself “Mission accomplished”!
TESLA yay, good jam, seen them several times in concert live, good show, good review yeah, they still tour today 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤🎧
Tesla has always been such a fantastic rock band. Their lyrics can tackle some pretty serious issues and can be kinda deep. But Franky Hannon on guitar always blew my mind. Such an amazing talent.
The middle guy "When the chorus started I wasn't sure I was going to like this" yet he was bopping his head the whole time 😂 One of my favs from Tesla
Tesla is still kicking ass 36 years later! Please check out more Tesla!!!! Comin' at you live is a MUST. The live version!!!
I've seen this band live many times & yes the guitar gets switched up live
Saw them live back in 88 89 at louisville gardens with great white.they are fantastic live.
One of the best albums of the Hair Metal era. Every song is great, no filler.
Working my way through your catalog. This song is a banger. Tesla was freaking amazing band with three albums being a must own. 📀📀
Great song
This is an incredible song. An absolute USA anthem
Boys the 80s where the best damn era for music
Saw these guys live! So great! They still tour today! One of the best bands out there! They still have hair.....but there is much more to Tesla than hair!

Guitarists are Tommy Skeoch, and Frank Hannah.
Tesla has videos for two very rocking and encouraging songs, one is called What You Give and the other one is called Hang Tough.
Gettin Better

Heaven's Trail is something to Check out from them...
The lead guitarist has a 12-string guitar and yes, he shreds. They are fantastic live, so if you ever get the chance to see them, go!
Their 5 Man Acoustical Jam album rocks. They toured that album. Touring acoustically shows how good musically you really are.
THIS!!!
I listen to Tesla almost daily. Never tire. They simply kick ass. They've got so much more "the way it is" and "what you give." 2 of my favs, check them out please
I love this band, they were extremely overlooked because of bands like metallica and gnr
Seen them many times in concert and they are great. Jeff Keith has more energy than any other singer I've seen. They did a great cover of Signs on their Acoustic performance that is great and I have always liked Heaven's Trail (No Way Out). They just have a number of great songs. One of best albums of 80s
What a fucking great Band, l love tesla.....huge Riff ...the guitar work is awesome.
I have heard of Tesla but never really paid much attention to them until I found them doing "Modern Day Cowboy" on your channel. I'm not a real big heavy metal fan but I do like what I heard from Tesla. This is the only song from Tesla that I ever thought was worth listening to. This song is great!
What You Give (offical video) and Paradise acoustic style were two of their best. Jeff Keith had a phenomenal voice.
I love it! You guys Bob your heads in unison!
New subbie here, Tesla has great songs hope you keep digging in.
Love from the Central Valley California
One of my favorites from Tesla is Flight to Nowhere. A very underrated but rockin song.
These guys are amazing live. Their first album was great. Love song is over played. Their cover of signs was cool.
Yes, Frank has his acoustic on a stand for this song. Just like the video.
This band is still amazing live.
Heavens trail,no way out or song and emotion two more great tesla songs
The song that first caught my attention from this album was Little Suzi...
I’ve always loved this song and it definitely reminds me of the time we are living in, cause when you know, you know!🎶😎💥
More Tesla bangers, please!
One thing about Tesal is they have a very similar vibe as Thin Lizzy. The dual guitars.
Long time Tesla fan here and Song & Emotion might be their best song IMO. Psychotic Supper is their best album start to finish. Love the Tesla reactions.
I bought this the day it came out and it still kicks ass to this day!
Late to the party-
Great reaction!
Saw them at the Palace, circa 1996. My birthday, IIRC. Amazing show.
Good choice. They have a great catalog of music.
That threat of nuclear war was a palpable thing back then no joke whew😢
Tesla are not glam at all. They are a straight hard rock and metal band that just fuckin shred!
My playlist includes a lot of Tesla songs!!
You MUST watch Comin at cha Live. Live version.. Blow you away....
Hey guys! I recommend you "Cumin´ Atcha Live" . That song is pure fire! Best,
The song is about the "Cold War" between The U.S.S.R. and America.
Not real familiar with their music, but always loved "Song and Emotion"
💯
When all 3 reviewers heads are bobbing in unison, they get it. Go further down the Tesla rabbit hole.
Tesla was definitely a band minus the glam, and more grit. They were like High N Dry/Pyromania-era Def Leppard with a southern-fried edge.
I take it this was a respect song aimed at Ronald Reagan who was the president during the Cold War with USSR. Reagan was a movie star from the 50's and he was in a bunch of westerns. I personally think that he was telling Russia, don't mess with America because there is a cowboy in the White House. Could be completely wrong, but that was my take when it came out.
seeing as from what I've heard, some members were formerly in Five Man Electric Band, Tesla did a very different cover of "Signs" by 5MEB
Most of us learned about the man Tesla from the band Tesla, Edison's Medicine (read lyrics) also told us about him on Album Cover. Song that fits today, "Flight to No Where"
PS, Song and Emotion is about Steve, lead guitar player for Def Leppard who died. Acoustic is on a stand, he can walk up to it.
lol I love at 7:55 onwards how you all are banging your heads in unison!
Heaven's Trail. Similar from their second album
Making magic is there best song. Was my favorite band in the 80s. If you want guitars they have 3 guitarists in this song.
Should really give making magic or changes a listen also super love little Susie 😊
If you liked this song...try Heavens Trail (No Way Out). Another great Tesla song
Tesla was not “HAIR” Metal…Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue said they were the Farmers of Hard Rock!!! Blue Jeans…T Shirts…Kicked ASS!!! Songs-Hang Tough…..but should check out Song And Emotion!! Tribute to Steve Clarke of Def Leppard….they toured together…became Brothers!!👍🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
the singer gotta have something to do while the solo going on sooo im gonna dance in front of these giant amps!!!
Flight To Nowhere is on of my favorites.
Also try, Cumin Atcha Live, Little Suzi, Heaven's Trail, Had Enough, I Wanna Live, and you may as well also check out Signs, which was a cover, but a huge hit.
Yeah I have seen them 3x and it's real☺
Hannon & Skoech are Bonafide Badasses
Check out Changes. My favorite Tesla song
The 80’s where a time when music was music!
I saw this band 8 times
The guitarist Brian wheat does go from acustic to electric
Brian is the bassist. Tommy Skeoch and Frank Hannon are guitarists. Tommy was kicked out in the mid 90's due to his drug habit and Dave Rude replaced him
If you wanna hear shredding Tesla, check out Comin Atcha Live (Live 2008) and Dont De-Rock Me. Both face melters!
Fucken fire❤❤
The Night Chicago Died mentioned Al Capone a long time ago.
Candlebox - You
