Sliver Overlord - High Power Deck Tech and Guide - Sliver Tribal - EDH / Commander

- Hey Everyone and Welcome Back! Today we are taking a look at an old favorite of mine, Sliver Tribal. We have tuned our deck to take advantage of our commander the Sliver Overlord. The deck is designed to have access to any sliver for any situation. Our primary win condition is through combat but due to the nature of Slivers there are some combos organically baked in. Our game plan is to slowly assemble important Slivers piece by piece until we have enough to alpha strike and end the game. Some important deck building rules. I have opted for no tutors outside of Overlord and Homing Sliver as well as omitted tax and 5 color good stuff cards. This is a way to take some of the cumbersomeness out of the game and get rid of the "Sliver Stigma". Last even though we don't have some "high power staples" we are still able to compete at high power tables just under cEDH due to the synergies built into the deck. Was playing a multiplayer game several years ago with my sliver deck and had an absolute insane turn 3 win.
T1 Galerider
T2 Manaweft
T3 Intruder Alarm, Heart, Muscle
Next opponent reanimated an Angel of Serenity and tried to wipe my board.
Intruder Alarm triggered, flashed in Quick Sliver and proceeded to combo off. It was absolutely incredible.
Stories like this is why I love commander!

Just found your stream man enjoyed it. Ive been a slover fan since tempest.. got back into the game recently and had to get the aliver precon. Honestly with the fix to the mana base in that deck and adding amd changing so much out from it i just deopped all the mana rocks. I didnt see it in the deck but i would totallt recomend morophon basically makes blood moon or other land changes pointless. Then when you tutor out the big guns they are free. I for the sliver queen ( mostly because i dont have the $$) so many good sliver combos that there isnt a right or wrong way to play them lol
Hey thanks a lot for viewing! I have been toying around with Morophon on and off. The precon is a great way to start and with you plan to update the mana base first you’ll have a high power deck on no time! Don’t worry about the queen she’s more in here for flavor anyway lol
@IDraken1221 oo I'm done with my if you add sundial also you can keep your tokens with grave mother I added it up my deck all in all ( imbstill missing 7 shock lands) is on a power scale of 8.5-9.. once I get the shocks to go with my 10 fetchs it's at least a 9 to 10 😆 🤣 love me some slivers!
Sadly my play groups don't like playing against it so I usually go with my nazgul deck

Morphon is the toxic easy way out. Most players won’t play against it because it’s too easy to win.
For players to play against slivers, you need to knock back the power otherwise you can just combo win in 30 different wins in a few turns
@@BigBoii1369 That is the go to for Morophon. Then dont play blood moon against me? just saying he has to be in a sliver deck to avoid gimics like that otherwise how will i get my slivers in to the game? you cant run a sliver deck and expect me to not be the target. I always play my slivers and tend to be fine with people playing against me but I also just chill back alot of the game and just counter board wipes or bounce my slivers back.

heya bud... I am also a 5C sliver player (the First Sliver tho) ... looking at your land base, I'd like to suggest some considerations.
I stopped playing path of ancestry because it comes in tapped. its not a bad card but the following are 4 of the land cards I run in my deck that you dont have.
1.) Field of the Dead. Its a flavor fail, zombies instead of slivers, but with every land being differently named, it will active easily.
2.) Mutavault. 1-mana to make your land into a sliver! Sneaky blocker or extra count for bodies on the attack/synergy
3.) The World Tree. mana fixer
4.) Unclaimed Territory. Untapped and produces mana for anything you could want!
Just some thoughts, my deck parameters are considerable different then yours. My deck is centered at a mid range power with more chaos/evolution/cascade.
Thanks for the comment. I agree a lot with you here. I don’t play Path very much but I deceived to try it here to create some value. I do like the idea of Mutavault. Sometimes I don’t play enough utility islands in my 5 color decks lol. Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll be sure to give most of these a shot!
Hey man, beautiful deck. I've been playing Overlord for a while and wanted to recommend a few cards:
-- [Zirda, the Dawnwalker] as a another ability cost reducing option
-- [Braids of Fire] and [Thran Turbine] will make you mana tons of mana at upkeep you can use to activate Overlord's abilities
-- [Morophon the Boundless] will significantly reduce mana costs for your slivers (including Overlord) and is also a Sliver
-- [Not of This World] is a free counterspell to protect Overlord
-- If you want to add a third strategy to win after traditional Combat and Combo, consider adding [Shields of Velis Vei] and [Unnatural Selection] for more ability to steal your opponents creatures. [Shields of Velis Vel] is especially great because it counts as a Sliver card and can be tutored and played at instant speed. Add [Arcane Lighthouse] for support and between those cards and [Aemoboid Changeling] you have a reliable third wincon.

@@IDraken1221 I don't have a digitized list but i'd be happy to discuss more if you have any specific questions. Those were the main cards that stood out to me as being missing from your deck.
I will also say that, in general, i try to get the quick sliver out ASAP and operate the entire deck at instant speed. To me, this is the most powerful way to play the deck (flashing in hivelord to protect from a boardwipe for example).

Incorrect, it creates 1 for each sliver that hits, because "whenever A sliver creature deals combat damage, create...."
Meaning each individual sliver that deals combat damage creates its own untapped sliver token

You are Missing some Must Have Cards for a Sliver Tribal..like Urzas Incubator or with Overlord as the Commander Amoeboid Changeling with which you can steal Creatures from your Opponents ,some Tutors ,no Morophon which is a Must Include

Hey thanks for the feedback! I do applicator your option but there’s a few points I’d like to address.
1.) Amoeboid is in the list presented in the video.
2.) you can fit tutors in but I mentioned in the video to exclude them along with some other cards to help with creativity.
3.) as for Morophon and Urza’s Incubator I just don’t prefer them as cards. Morophon costs way too much to cast and incubator only discounts our creatures. I do understand why you would like them I just feel there are better ways to optimize the ramp spells!
All in all the best part of commander is playing what you like so if you like those cards keep playing them!
I’d include the ABUR dual lands if you’re going for competitiveness.

Don't know if this has been covered.... the *Brood sliver. For each sliver that deals combat damage to a player. You only get 1 sliver token per sliver. Hope you haven't been cheating in your group. Not total damage.

No every sliver gives 2 sliver tokens because you better have double strike sliver out if brood is out 😂
Nice deck of Proxies bro. Missing some key awesome cards for sliver tribal too. I think the +1/+1 slivers are a waste of space, so many better effects you can choose
No proxies in here but the alters are sleeves from altersleeves.com! There are probably better slivers than the lords but since it’s combat based I opted to include. Did you have any suggestions on what to include instead?
They're inner sleeves that change the art, try looking them up sometime!
Great deck tech, what about chromatic lantern for fellwar stone? I’m also trying to see if putting in yavimaya cradle of growth and urborg tomb of Yawgmoth for lands
Thanks for watching! You can put in Chromatic Lantern if you prefer. With the land base I didn’t feel the need for it but it’s a fine swap. If you want to add yavimaya and Yawgmoth you can cut volraths stronghold and secluded courtyard.
Also consider Dryad of the Grove (Naked Boy) because he costs 2G and gives rainbow mana PLUS play an additional land each turn.
