Great video and I like that the channel did precon/upgraded precon games. It was nice and clean. I hope these videos generate enough views that you keep doing them as a nice change of pace from cedh (which I enjoy watching and still want to see from you guys). Keep it up!
Super good editing, it's very easy to follow what's happening even as a beginner. Thanks !! can't wait to receive my enchantment deck with the few upgrades (which we have in commun actually)
Can’t wait for the Kickstarter! Also, I am VERY happy that Anikthea won (again). But I’ll be building her around Theros ONLY cards (cards that reference Theros are included too i.e. Sythis). I’m wanting to make a more flavorful build as Theros is my favorite block ever. And I get to play a lot of the Gods! :D GREAT GAME GANG!
Having played my Anikthea/Umori companion deck since Anikthea was first spoiled, Jim's advice of packing more self-mill effects to incentive casting Anikthea is so right. Plus, there's plenty of enchantments that protect your creatures like Asceticism, Privileged Position, and Sterling Grove, so it protects you a little better from creature removal blowouts.
I knew as soon as I saw Composer of Spring I knew I was going to see this be a staple in enchantress decks. Ngl this game was a PERFECT showcase of all 4 decks. Hopefully we get 1 more video with these before back to the normal gameplays.
Yoo I’ve been playing the Enduring Enchantments deck a bit and all of your suggestions to upgrade are awesome, great picks. The one thing I will say is I think there are some other cards I’d cut before Jukai Naturalist. By no means a bomb, but it’s one of our better two drops as it ramps and by being an enchantment creature it triggers our enchantment synergies while benefitting from Anikthea’s ability. Also with some anthems in play the life link is often relevant, just an overall solid card in the deck. At the two drop spot I’d suggest looking at Starfield Mystic and Herald of the Pantheon before cutting the Naturalist. Otherwise I really like all of the suggested cuts and adds 🤙 and great video
I use to have a Commodore. That one was called "Commodore 64" though. All jokes aside that Composer of spring does work. I'm really interested in the enchantress deck and the sliver deck, it's just too bad they are so expensive to buy at the double the price of other precons.
Some of the decks went down in price here in Poland, check if it's maybe the same for you. They are more expensive but they are way more powerful than regular precons so it kinda makes sense. Then again wotc greed is 80% of it
Damn it Spikes, I said last time you were making me think about buying the Abzan enchantress deck, but this made me pull the trigger. Fun game as usual!
@matthewlugo2417 idk it has definitely helped me. It's an enchantment itself which triggers enchantress effects and any constellation effects and a lot of the time allows double, or triple spelling in a turn to trigger those effects also.
Depending on power level, most enchantments are 1-2 drops without colorless requirements in their casting. Ends up being a cards that only benefits a few cards in the deck, therefore not woth it
@aidandoherty4459 looking at the various deck building sites it seems like pretty much any enchantress decks have at least 30 cards that could be reduced and like 5 or 6 that can't (1 mana or 2 mana with both colored pips). Commander quarters deck here has 36 cards it can reduce, seems pretty significant. ua-cam.com/video/TcInWz_ADDA/v-deo.html
@darron614 hence why i said depending on power level. Most cedh or high power enchantress decks (like sythis) choose not to run it because it doesn't help enough.
Comet doesn't actually even say the word target! I think the only time you can respond is when the activation is on the stack, without even knowing what the result is going to be
Also the cascade triggers would resolves first since they happen after the cast of the 10/10 putting the target effect of the creature she just cast last to happen when it comes to the two cascade triggers. That’s how the stack works.
You can choose how the triggers go on the stack as they all trigger simultaneously, on the casting of the 10/10, so you can steal and then cascade twice, cascade stal and cascade or cascade twice and then steal
I said the same thing when I saw him only do it once. It says “sliver creatures you control have ‘when this creature deals combat damage to a player, exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn’” the exile is a must the may is on the cast. And it’s for each sliver u control that does combat damage.
Capricious Sliver's ability does not trigger upon dealing combat damage to planeswalkers, which he took into account when he hit Commodore Guff. At least in that instance, I see no misplay.
15:00 funny thing about Deploy the Gatewatch. With 20 planeswalkers in the deck the probability of this hitting two is only about 40%. I am currently building a superfriends deck and trying to not go under 25 planeswalkers in the deck - that way this card has at least 55% chance to hit two (slightly more probably thanks to fetches and other ways to find lands). Either way this hitting 2 planeswalkers is never guaranteed. To get to 80% you would need 37 planeswalkers. Which if you run 10 mana rocks/ramp will give you room only for 13 non-planeswalker cards. It still sucks when it happens, but with 20 it will hit 1 or 0 in the majority of cases. Probably almost not worth to run it at that point unless you are okay getting just one. I think the 25 walkers is the minimum to justify it - that way you have at least more then 50% chance to hit 2 planeswalkers with it.
Wouldn’t the regenerate effect remove the dmg from his slivers . So it wouldn’t do dmg? I just hate trying to pull off combos, and getting told they don’t work.
Does the Eldrazi commander have a cast from hand clause because I feel like the cards the Flayer of Loyalty cascaded into should have also triggered it as they cost 7 mana
Small note, but (I believe) you cannot actually respond to comet dealing damage. There is no reflexive trigger (and no target!), so there is no window between activating the ability (before the die roll) and the damage happening. I may be wrong though. (I'm specifically not sure if there is a window between the choice and the damage. I know comet doesn't target, which actually let's you get around shroud/hexproof/ward! What a good boy!)
Great game and what a way to show players new and old how great these new precons are. (Got the enchantment precon myself) pretty pumped to give Anikthea a whirl
This video is another in a series of videos that keeps making me think that the Planeswalker Party deck is very fun, and has a sutprising amount of power.
Comet's ability can't be responded to after the dice is rolled, once u activate the ability, until its resolution nothing can be done, so the capricious sliver should have died... it's strange yeah, but that's how it works.. sorry for rule lawyer in me
Yeah, I cut a section where we figure that out the second time he activates it. Initially we assumed it was a reflexive trigger, but this is one of the reasons why Alex doesn't like the card. The templating is really confusing.
You can target the same creature multiple times with Nylea's Colossus triggers, which gets you a lot more power (which is all you need considering they don't have blockers).
There would have been 4 more Cascade triggers with the Bane of Bala Ged and the other one since you cast the ones you cascade and they both had 7 cost. Am I wrong?
Question: regenerate says "The next time this permanent would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead tap it, **remove all damage from it**, and remove it from combat." Since all damage is removed from it, should spiteful sliver still have triggered or not?
After Aaron was put to 13, the right roll with Comet and using Guff's negative and Sarkhand's plus could have seen Aaron dead, or at least forced him to block.
So weird to see a red/white sliver give flying, maybe it should’ve been lifelink or first strike? Blue used to be linked with flying, although white makes sense as well with the angels and all 🤷♂️ Anyway just my 2cts, loved the game 🎉
Only because it survived to lategame. The other players all focused each other earlier because Jim wasn't a big threat until he went off. By that measure, Assemble the Legion is the best card in magic, but the cost is that it takes time to get rolling.
With Anikthea you can do way better When you get rid of the Mill and Focus heavy in Discard with things Like Oppression,Bottomless Pit,Thoughbreaker Lamia etc....at the End your Opponents have Nearly Zero Handcards,Karmic Justice can Destroy their Lands,Grave Pact the Other Cards and once you have enough Mana Finish The whole Table with Torment of Hailfire at once Of course everyone will hate you but your winrate will be very high ..And Smothering Tite Grants you that Much Mana
Sorry....forgive me if I'm missing something here, but, when Spiteful Sliver blocks Bane of Bala Ged, then taps to regenerate, doesn't that mean there isn't any damage to point at Sarkhan? Has the Spiteful trigger already gone on the stack for damage BEFORE damage is removed from it with regenerate? Was that interaction correct?
All of the cuts were decided and prepared before both games were filmed. It's interesting to see how cards that are evaluated as cuts pre-gameplay sometimes really perform! :)
One Eldrazi out, two Eldrazi in and not a single titan? And with the Slivers no First Sliver, Sliver Overlord, Sliver Legion or Sliver Hive? Someone must also tell Wizards of the Coast that there are three times more colored Eldrazis (105) than colorless ones (32) and not a single Eldrazi exist which support 5 colors (6 colors with colorless symbol) to play with the most from them. It's hard to imagine that they haven't realized this by themselves but the fact that not even one has been printed so far proves it.
Not swinging the Bane and the Annihilator Dragon at the Slivers player seems like a bad choice. 4 disappeared permanents and a Slivers player on very little life is a good excuse to bully them out of the game. EDIT: NEVER MIND, Based Enchantments Deck.
I'm a bit sad to see the honor-worn Shaku leave the walker precon. It seemed like a sweet piece of tech for the walker deck.
On The cgb Commander precon play The honor-worn shaku was the "mvp" generating insane amount of mana with The planeswalkers
Yeah, that change seems absurd to me
There's better artifacts for planeswalker party. Like swapping guff for narset and adding ichormoon gauntlet.
I have planeswalker party and I immediately swapped for narset.
Great video and I like that the channel did precon/upgraded precon games. It was nice and clean. I hope these videos generate enough views that you keep doing them as a nice change of pace from cedh (which I enjoy watching and still want to see from you guys).
Keep it up!
Composer of Spring is one hell of a Magic card. Glad I chose enchantments as my precon this time
You should be forced to call him Vivaldi on cast.
Thanks for showing the INS & OUTS for each deck!
Awesome to see the precons gameplay then watch this with upgrades ! Love this would love to see this in the future!
Super good editing, it's very easy to follow what's happening even as a beginner. Thanks !! can't wait to receive my enchantment deck with the few upgrades (which we have in commun actually)
Composer is a godsend for enchantment decks, I definitely see that as the best card for the precon
When I first read the card my mind was blown lol it's so pushed.
Great game, tons of fun to watch.
Specifically enjoyed every time Jim said 'thats a good card'.
Can’t wait for the Kickstarter! Also, I am VERY happy that Anikthea won (again). But I’ll be building her around Theros ONLY cards (cards that reference Theros are included too i.e. Sythis). The bird to beast scaling was funnier than it should have been
The enchantments deck keeps impressing me, wp gg

Anyone else notice that the culling ritual which was the turning point of the last game was in the -out- pile XD
And he still won! 😂

Seems kinda crazy to me to get rid of Jukai Naturalists from an enchantment deck.
As someone who has an enchantment deck the mana reducers for enchantments never help
@matthewlugo2417 idk it has definitely helped me. It's an enchantment itself which triggers enchantress effects and any constellation effects and a lot of the time allows double, or triple spelling in a turn to trigger those effects also.

so i might be wrong. but at 16.08 with the comet + i dont think hes allowed to regenerate. as comet doesnt target untill resolve?
Comet doesn't actually even say the word target! I think the only time you can respond is when the activation is on the stack, without even knowing what the result is going to be
Aaron you missed a constricting sliver trigger that coulda stopped the cascade triggers. Game changer
Maddys commander had shroud and couldn't be targeted. Trigger missed nonetheless
He knew the sliver eas there from the scry and could have gotten rid of the equiment first and then the commander.
Also the cascade triggers would resolves first since they happen after the cast of the 10/10 putting the target effect of the creature she just cast last to happen when it comes to the two cascade triggers. That’s how the stack works.

and he missed a constricting sliver trigger as well
Capricious Sliver's ability does not trigger upon dealing combat damage to planeswalkers, which he took into account when he hit Commodore Guff. At least in that instance, I see no misplay.
And he never applied his generic mana discount he got from heralds horn

I wasn't planning on getting the Enchantment pre-con. but it's really good. 👍
Was waiting for this one!!!
Wouldn’t the regenerate effect remove the dmg from his slivers . So it wouldn’t do dmg? I just hate trying to pull off combos, and getting told they don’t work.
Awesome vid, a couple of Sythis Triggers missed just before the end too ;)
Im kinda sad that first sliver was not added to the deck. That would have been great to see,but I understand it is pricey.
I just nabbed a japanese text one for $30, we'll find out if it's legit soon enough
Aaron you could’ve blocked with crypt sliver and then regenerate him. No combat damage taken and you keep your creature. Does that not work?
So glad I bought the enchantment precon. It’s a beast
HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!
3:57 did you upgrade the mana of the slivers?
Sitting here with my Kestia "oops all enchantment creatures" deck not realizing exactly how much I need composer of spring. Holy wow
What is the video quality recorded with. UA-cam isn't letting me up it.
Should be available all the way up to 4K.
Gamegenic is seriously the best btw. I love there deck boxes. Fun game play also guys.
Engagement for the Al Go!
Typical enchantment deck doesn't do a lot until until it does everything. Love it! 👌
Raise The Palisade and Elven Chorus are genuis includes in the Sliver deck
Love the upgraded version format
From the precons i loved narci, fable singer, if you guys get the chance, will probably like her a lot
I'm here to say that Lavabelly is very much not filler. Just that they can't reprint sliver queen, so the combo with Basal sliver isn't doable.
oh boy, oh boy!! eldrazis and slivers are pretty wild!
Aaron you could’ve prevented so much damage if you utilized regeneration
Does the Eldrazi commander have a cast from hand clause because I feel like the cards the Flayer of Loyalty cascaded into should have also triggered it as they cost 7 mana
Yes Zhulodok reads as "when cast from hand".
yes it says cast from hand
@@TheSpikeFeeders ah fair enough. That is probably more balanced to be fair. Thanks
I would like to see you upgrade each OTHER'S decks and then see how it goes!
I just grabbed the Anikthea Precon for my brother. I hope he likes it

Zhulodok read as "when cast from hand". So the spells cast from cascade do not trigger additional cascade.
@@TheSpikeFeeders Ah got it! Thanks ^^ Somehow my brain overread that line every single time I have read the card :D
cant he block and regenerate?
the precon and the upgraded won twice. makes me think of the enchantress
Thank you, Alex. I *will* go pet a dog today!
Ok, watching these two videos made me VERY glad I decided to swallow my disgust at the price tag and order the enchantment deck, it looks amazing
You missed a trigger on constricting sliver when spiteful sliver ETB
Composer seems bonkers. Nice game.
Do one more where you make the precon commanders (or alternate commanders) as competitive as you can.
The Sliver deck needed Blasphemous Act.
I was completely expecting the sliver deck would be all out and in lands 😂😂
Aaron misplayed his deck big time! He could’ve won
@@devynvang5853 Yeah watching him so many triggers was just sad.
Do you guys take fan applications to be on the show?!:)
We have a tier in our patreon where you can play with us via webcam, or you can join our discord and occasionally we play games there with patrons!
Does regenerate not remove the damage done to the sliver and keep them from pinging for damage back?
23:58 actually cascade triggers before anything else
That enchantment deck is so sweet. And Composer of spring is such a broken card
Aaron keeps neglecting that proliferate trigger on his thrumming bird and it’s really bothering me
23:35 blasphemous act wins right there. And with gravemother buying them back or hivelord; man that would be good.
Question: regenerate says "The next time this permanent would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead tap it, **remove all damage from it**, and remove it from combat."
Since all damage is removed from it, should spiteful sliver still have triggered or not?
It should, the damage still happens so it will trigger the spiteful sliver. It doesn't care the damage is remove once the trigger hits the stack.
This is hilarious. I just bought this deck and put Comet in under my friends protest. How not putting it?
You still cast the 2 7 cost from cascade so you would have had 4 more cascade 24:53
That's not how that works, Zhulodok is "when cast from hand".
Kinda love this format of video
Can you not just block with your sliver and then regenerate during combat? This would just result in no damage taken
I also never saw jim draw off of the sythis on his last turn
After Aaron was put to 13, the right roll with Comet and using Guff's negative and Sarkhand's plus could have seen Aaron dead, or at least forced him to block.
Moot comment, now that I've finished the video, but still.
Is there a rule, no one can target Jim?
Getting rid of the culling ritual after how gross it was the previous game seems a little strange tbh
So weird to see a red/white sliver give flying, maybe it should’ve been lifelink or first strike? Blue used to be linked with flying, although white makes sense as well with the angels and all 🤷♂️ Anyway just my 2cts, loved the game 🎉

@@TheSpikeFeeders It works now!
im i wrong, or were there several missplays on the slivers deck?
Yeah the enchantment deck definitely seems like the strongest of the precons by a fair bit.

Cutting Culling Ritual from the enchantress deck after what it did in the regular game... wow.
All of the cuts were decided and prepared before both games were filmed. It's interesting to see how cards that are evaluated as cuts pre-gameplay sometimes really perform! :)
Everyone thinks they're doing well until the enchantment deck gets out a single enchantress effect and a single big surge of mana
Capricious triggers for each sliver not just one
One Eldrazi out, two Eldrazi in and not a single titan? And with the Slivers no First Sliver, Sliver Overlord, Sliver Legion or Sliver Hive?

It's hard to imagine that they haven't realized this by themselves but the fact that not even one has been printed so far proves it.
Our upgrades were limited to 10 cards totaling no more than $50 per deck. Most of the cards you listed are $30-50 each.
@@TheSpikeFeeders Ah ok. Doesnt know that you set price limitations in this short range. Thanks for your answer.
When maddy cast flayer of loyalties, she could have taken the cloud shredder sliver and made aarons creatures lose flying and kill him.
except he can just pay 2 life to make it go back to hand
maddy should have had 4 more cascades because she cast two 7 mana cards off the original double casacde no?
Zhulodok requires the cards to be cast from hand to trigger cascade.
