I totally agree. Luckily I had a bunch of CFast 2.0 cards from my 1DX when I bought the BMPCC6K. Personally I never had any issue with my t5 but there is always the risk of potentially loosing footage.

I had only Problems with CFast so far with a Pocket 6K G1 ... The Samsung T5 512GB we used once with 4 Cameras for a long interview and there was no file missing in the end and they work very well (T7 are not recommended from BM as you told in the Video). SD Cards worked as well very good but I use it more for Private or Testing stuff.
Now I bought an internal Samsung 970 Evo Plus and a plugable USB 3 gen 2 NVME enclosure and I get infinite time at full USB speed, and sustained 1.6GBytes per second over Thunderbolt

I use a Fxlion Nano a smaller Version of the the V-Mount Batteries with D-Tap to BMPCC Energy Input. There are different Possibilities to atach it via Smallrig Pieces (v-Mount Bracket) if you also have the Smallrig Case for the BMPCC.
Thank you for this video. I'm currently looking into storage options for the 4K and the 6K. When looking at the speed of all of the options, I'm curious to see if the XT even supports 6K 50p Q0. Are you able to try it out? 30p 6K Q0 chews into 242 to 483 MB/s. The maximum write speed of the Angelbird CFAST XT is 480?. Does this mean it can't handle a super complex shot in 50p Q0? If so, what does? The T5 is also limited to around 540(transfer. Don't know what the write speed actually is) if I remember correctly. Maybe other drives are faster but f.ex. the T7 hacks its speed with a buffer so it can't shoot video. Its speed is advertised as sequential write at 1000MB/s which makes it unusable for the BMPCC. Do we have to rely on an external recording to record super complex shots with Q0 in 50p 6K? thanks, M
The crucial x8 holds up fine on the constant or bitrate. Your opinion isn’t fact. I would share only what you know to be fact to not mislead others. Try the blackmagic speed test to gain a better understanding of ssd.
I have to disagree with 80% of the info here...no disrespect...having worked with BMPCC 4k from the beginning in the professional world, The Samsung t5 500gb, has worked fine, at all frame and bit rates. Angel Bird is way overpriced and again in a professional setting...I have yet to spend more for an SD card than I spend on my C-fast or SSD drive. These are my thoughts and my experiences. Anyway, continue to research, and learn. Kudos to the channel
May I ask what are your longest record times? All of my various ssd's can record for short periods but not past about 25 minutes. I will pull an older T5 500tb in the next few days to do my own tests with it. Just finished two theater archive videos with long record times and had issues. The T5 i usually save for handheld work. Thinking about trying NVMe stick next. Thanks!
It will not work, hubs split the bandwidth. I have tested with a USB SSD and 100mb Ethernet and they both show up in camera, but the camera IMMEDIATELY drops frames even at 4k 12:1

So, just to be clear (I'm new at this bmpcc 6K); so using a SDXC 256gb V90 Class 10, I'm able to film in Blackmagic Raw at not only 3:1, but also 5:1, or 8:1... in 24fps or 30fps? AND: if using ProRes 422/or HQ, I should be good to go with 24p and 30p? Again just making sure. I prefer the SDXC over CF for now however, I'm looking into the CFast cards too. I fou look up on the BM Web Page you will find the Speed you have to use for certain Formats and so on. Since 3:1 is better/higher rates (Blackmagic RAW 3:1 - 323 MB/s - 6K - 30frs) than 5:1 or 8:1 its possible. The 422HQ with 4K is possible with an SD Card Write Speed ofe 422HQ with 4K is possible with an SD Card Write Speed of 120MB/s. This speeds are made up with 30frs. The card will be expensive and just make sure to have a v90 card.
Hi bro, any suggestions you can give us for your desktop/laptop setup for editing? Ive only got the iPad Pro (with Lumafusion), EOS R and Atomos Ninja V. Unfortunately iPad Pro and Lumafusion do not support ProRes or DNxHR codecs (4K 10bit 4.2.2 CLOG) I can edit 4K/1080 8bit CLOG on iPad Pro with no issues, Lumafusion with LUTs all work ok etc. My bottleneck now is either using 8bit clog internal and Ninja V as monitor only or upgrade to a higher end editing machine. Thankyou
If you are using Apple devices go for a MacStudio or Macbook Pro Middle Range and buy FCPX. Than u can use Prores up to 4444XQ (or Prores 422HQ which will be fine as well.) You can do Proxies (in the h264 Format) from the Apple device to use them as well with Lumafusion and send them back to the mac when needed.)
Honestly - I love the Bmcc6kpro so much for what it is but I'm also super disappointed with the fact that even external SSD's lose data. Hasn't happened much to me but it has happened overall even with a Samsun T7 2TB which should be double the t5's reading and writing speed. Also the inaccuracy of the battery data (telling you it has way more than it really has and then turning off on you mid shoot). Super disappointing. For me, getting an Angel CF card is like $1000. It's crazy
I watched a YT vid recently that pointed out that the BMPCC6K Pro is a true cinema camera, but is often compared to DSLR's. They went on to explain that a true cinema camera should be expected to require a full rig i.e. Vmounts, monitor, the whole kit and kaboodle. It was a pretty convincing argument against it's downsides. Especially considering the price point and numerous features. The thing that really ticks me off is the short approved media list. A T7 should be ampol and an NVME drive should be best drive for the device.

400/500 US dollars for SD card it’s way to much, especially if you have a T5, T7 and any other SSD drive from which you can actually work straight out without transfer.

Helpful review. My T5 500GB records the highest resolution on 60fps without dropping a single frame for long.
How long are your record times? Usually buffer issues come in at a certain point.

I'm still waiting on my 6K Pro, but I bought a Vmount rig based on the various vids I've watched. I got a Neewer battery and a Smallrig Vmount.

I use v30 cards and can record braw 8:1 24fps up to 12:1 60fps. So your information is not correct I'm afraid.

if you want to risk having corrupt files or a corrupt drive that's fine. But if you charge decent money for your videos, 500$ is nothing
