Old Man Winter. We visited Preservation Distillery and it was part of their tasting line-up at the end of the tour, along with Very Olde St Nick and Rare Perfection 15. If memory serves, this expression was from their new batches, building on the name recognition from their older juice for the brand. I found it very enjoyable, along with the Rare Perfection 15, but the price point was out of sight and not (in my opinion) worth it. The distillery has a history indeed, however they are too pricey for me to justify purchases.

Enjoyed the video- it’s obvious when you guys enjoy a particular theme such as this (trying new bourbons) that there’s a heightened energy and enthusiasm in your interactions. Keep ‘em coming! Have a good weekend!
Old Man Winter is made by Preservation Distillery in Bardstown. Est. 6yr old, it's is a whiter wheat from the black hills. it is their first Distilled, aged and bottled on site offering. I had a tour there in March.
I live in Austin and this is the first time I've seen Still Austin on the channel. Their distillery is a great place to hang out. So glad you all like it!
If you're looking for more new things, you guys should come down to Indy and check out West Fork Distillery. They resurrected the Old Hamer line, as well as the Hugh Hamer finished line, and now they're releasing their own juice, across multiple mashbills. Picked up a single barrel of their high rye bourbon last weekend that is really solid. Great video, as always. Keep up the great work!
Holladay makes some great stuff. Very cool that you have a rickhouse proof bottle. Those things go fast when they release them. Their bottled in bond stuff is great for $50-60.
Great episode! Love it when you try some of the small distilleries. If you ever see it, you should try Bluegrass distilleries products. They are in Lexington Kentucky now but are moving to a farm in Midway, KY. where they will be grain to glass. They have a blue corn bourbon that I really like. I hope when they expand they will broaden their distribution, because i can't get it in Ohio or Indiana. Love the show, keep it up, TonyB
Ironroot distillery in Denison TX is big on the red corn and wide variety of corn in their mash bill. I’d bet that inspired the still austin red corn. You must find ironroot if you haven’t already
Heritage corn and wheat are very popular now. Some are adding small quantities and others are going all out. Blending will be interesting with what is possible with these mash bills. The only bad thing is distribution of these bottles if it gets around the country or not. Enjoy!!
Whiskey acres out of DeKalb ,IL releases a blue popcorn bourbon every fall….so good !!! Whiskey acres is. Farm to bottle, they distille and fill only 2- 53 gallon barrels a day onsite !!
I love watching your videos. My father always wanted to have some Scotch with me, but unfortunately he passed away right before Father's Day. I never got the chance to share any of my whiskey collection with him.
My local liquor store had an employee go to the distillery, and he told me that this old man winter was a blend where they wouldn’t say what the Tennessee was, but the Kentucky was 15 yr willett and the Indiana was 17 yr MGP. I can’t confirm nor deny, but that’s the info that was passed to me!
Great unique lineup. Nice to get a little 1st hand info on some products that are not available here. Now I have some awareness when traveling and finding whiskeys I don't recognize. Tough to drop $70 - $100+ on a flyer without at least a little bit of insight. Thanks gentlemen. "Dusty old rocking chair at Cracker Barrel " - another Trenton classic tasting note
J Henry & Sons uses a red heirloom corn and their bourbon is nice! If you haven't tried it, you should. It should be in your area but if not I would be happy to send a bottle down.
I bought and love the Still Austin Red Corn Bourbon BIB at Binny’s in IL. Love it. I like the Ben Holladay BIB and would love to get the Ben Holladay Soft Wheat Bourbon. Thanks for reviewing! 🥃
Great to see reviews on bottles that I have never seen or tried. Still Austin is the only one I have heard of before and I have never seen any of their offerings in Ohio to this point. Would love to try any or all of these. Now I am going to have to try a sip of WT101 and see if I get any sour notes.....
Wow! Surprised you were able to get the new Still Austin release. I live down the street from them and still have a hard time getting their limited stuff. This Summer release is very good. Wait till the new Cask Strength Rye is released next month… 🔥🔥🔥
Hey you’ve been to the Dells, I’m from Wisconsin. Hey, the pork chop meal or fried chicken meal at Cracker Barrel aren’t too bad, with some carrots and green beans, and potatoes yummy!
I like what you guys are doing being following your videos for a while and they are great! I was wondering if you can show the label of the bottles to take a look of the brand and details if possible /👍
Holladay is doing some incredible things. If you haven't checked out their bottled in bond bourbon with rye. It was my favorite bourbon of the year last year.
Yo @SLB - I'm curious, what is your monthly Bourbon budget??? Also, how many ounces do you guys drink, and is your collection just constantly expanding? What do you do with all the open bottles??? You must run out of room at some point I would think.
please try out indiana whiskey distillery, they are located out of south bend and i wanna know what you think of their lineup. they got a maple infused, a chocolate infused, a strawberry infused whiskey, a sweet corn whiskey, and a bourbon called "just bourbon"
It is from Preservation. I LOVE Old Man Winter. When I visited Bardstown I spoke to local who said the woman who owns Preservation inherited and uses one of the Van Winkle barrels for her bourbon.
A fun tasting of unusual stuff!! Still Austin is coming up with some great new stuff and even though I'm only 70 miles from Austin the seasonal releases can be elusive here...just cracked my Alberta Premium and looking forward to trying tonight!
Everytime I see a Texas bourbon on your bar I keep hoping for some Balcones...TX guys back me up. I think you would both like their single malt as well.
Loved the review gentlemen! The WH McBrayer, as well as the Old McBrayer, is a fantastic pour! Great family bringing back a wonderful legacy from the Judge! Look for more great bourbon from Bill and his family to come! #mcbrayerlegacyspirits
Every now and then when the videos start, it looks like the decal on Curt’s shirt is a bottle topper. Maybe through a cork under some bull horns and put it in the store
I'm with Trenton. Cracker Barrel is one of the most overrated restaurants in the world. It's basically a lesser version of my mom's kitchen growing up. They fix the same food, just not as good.
Totally agree with some of the comments here. Unlike some other channels I really like when you explore new and uncommon and maybe to some extent off the wall bottles or releases. This format keeps it unique, exciting, fun and flexible to the vast number of growing options. Dont get me wromg, I/we love the big brands, bangers, etc. but really cool to fold all of these variations along with others spirits and cocktails. Great job Kurt and Trent!
put Elon on pause when this popped up................ never heard of any of these.... always afraid to try whiskeys that are an unknown..... have had some blunders.
some of the aged stated old man winters (18yo rye for example ) is believed although not confirmed, that it is the same Bernheim rye used to make Black Maple Hill in that time era. Another unicorn of course 🥲

This needed a classic zoom in on Trent’s face at the 3:56 mark. The show has definitely gotten better overtime but I love some of the old edits
Definitely 😅

So happy to see you guys reviewing Still Austin. I started collected by purchasing 6 or so of their reserve series releases.
I never liked Texas whiskey until I tasted Still Austin. They are killing the game right now.
I got a bottle of Old McBrayer a few months ago. I believe they use Wilderness Trail distillate.
I live in Austin and this is the first time I've seen Still Austin on the channel. Their distillery is a great place to hang out. So glad you all like it!

Imagine trenton sniffing the rocking chair on the way out of cracker barrel! 🤣
😂
I love it when you guys try new whiskeys that you haven't had before. It is my favorite type of show. Keep up the good, nay, GREAT work!!
Happy to hear about a few distilleries that don’t always get attention, especially with such curious mash bills, geographies, and histories
Holladay makes some great stuff. Very cool that you have a rickhouse proof bottle. Those things go fast when they release them. Their bottled in bond stuff is great for $50-60.
Can't wait to get home, pour some 101 and have a watch! Happy Friday SLB!!!
Cheers from the Prairies of Canada! 🥃🇨🇦
I loved going to cracker barrel when I was a kid during road trips! The shop at the front with all the candy and trinkets was my jam!!!!
Living in Texas, I was happy to see the Still Austin whiskies. I like all of them that I have tasted. I will try this one now.

Loved the notes on the OMW bottle, price point not so much but it is tempting.
Really want that summer still austin.

I LOVE Ben Holloday! I have the soft red wheat and it's exceptional.
Paused the video and bought the Still Austin from Spec's online, because I trust y'all.......Bourbon reviews. Thanks for the video.
I have the Still Austin Cask Strength and really like it. And I've heard great things about Holladay.
I've seen still austin in every good liquor stores all over in southwest Louisiana and wondered about it. Now I don't have to wonder too much
There's a bookers single barrel at my local grocery store. Is this one I should pick up for $90?
Great unique lineup. Nice to get a little 1st hand info on some products that are not available here. Now I have some awareness when traveling and finding whiskeys I don't recognize. Tough to drop $70 - $100+ on a flyer without at least a little bit of insight.

I bought and love the Still Austin Red Corn Bourbon BIB at Binny’s in IL. Love it. I like the Ben Holladay BIB and would love to get the Ben Holladay Soft Wheat Bourbon. Thanks for reviewing! 🥃
Still Austin is the only one I've heard of and I've never tasted any of these. Good review!
The W.H.McBrayer small batch is $100
Nancy Fraley did a great blend on Still Austin 👍
Awesome show! Things that you won’t see often and might be an interesting to try!

I work at holladay cheers!
For those who have tasted the still Austin red corn, does it taste much better/different than their plain corn?
Did you guys have Still Austin Oated Bourbon in a video? I don’t remember seeing it but would love to see your impressions
Have you ever tried Balfour?
Really fun to see these new bottles.
Sounds like all those bottles are great hitters. Great review!!
I like what you guys are doing being following your videos for a while and they are great! I was wondering if you can show the label of the bottles to take a look of the brand and details if possible /👍
Love seeing new things and that you guys are willing to explore
I just visited Preservation Distillery in KY and was told this was a blend of their own whiskey and MGP.
Holladay is doing some incredible things. If you haven't checked out their bottled in bond bourbon with rye. It was my favorite bourbon of the year last year.
Great show. I will look for these.
Have you tried I W Harper, Trenton? If so did you like it and is it worth buying?
I love the Ben Holladay soft red wheat BiB. So I need to find that Rickhouse Proof.
Not sure how Trenton comes up with his "analogies" like "dusty rocker from Cracker Barrel" so quickly, I have no idea. But it is hilarious!!
Have you seen any Frey Ranch bottles in your area?
I love Trent’s humorous tasting notes…. Cracker Barrel rocker!
Interesting bottle's thanks guys.... also one of the best Trent faces ever😅 early on.
Great video. I’d love to see you review the Spot Irish whiskeys.
I would love to hear your thoughts on High Wire's Jimmy Red Corn Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Try the pink corn bourbon from KOVAL out of Chicago !!
Sad to know i will probably never try the Holladay soft red wheat. I have faith that they will expand in the future.
Yo @SLB - I'm curious, what is your monthly Bourbon budget??? Also, how many ounces do you guys drink, and is your collection just constantly expanding? What do you do with all the open bottles??? You must run out of room at some point I would think.

Man I wish Still Austin was available in Michigan
I believe the Old Man Winter is from Preservation. We saw it at their gift shop when we did a tasting.
It is from Preservation. I LOVE Old Man Winter. When I visited Bardstown I spoke to local who said the woman who owns Preservation inherited and uses one of the Van Winkle barrels for her bourbon.
Trenton is sporting the Alfalfa hairstyle.
A fun tasting of unusual stuff!! Still Austin is coming up with some great new stuff and even though I'm only 70 miles from Austin the seasonal releases can be elusive here...just cracked my Alberta Premium and looking forward to trying tonight!
The bourbon you were mentioning is called Black Maple Hill. They’re still producing bourbon but not as good as the old juice.
Everything holladay puts out is a banger and honestly a great value at $50-$60
Everytime I see a Texas bourbon on your bar I keep hoping for some Balcones...TX guys back me up.
I think you would both like their single malt as well.
Love Balcones! Picked a bottle of Cask Strength Tres Hombres last time we were in Waco…😳💥👍
Loved the review gentlemen! The WH McBrayer, as well as the Old McBrayer, is a fantastic pour! Great family bringing back a wonderful legacy from the Judge! Look for more great bourbon from Bill and his family to come! #mcbrayerlegacyspirits

Wisconsin Dells? That's not too far from me, or Driftless Glen Distillery. Do you ever get recognized when you're out in public?
Thank you for another enjoyable video. 👍
Holladay bourbons are pretty good
Binny's carries Still Austin
Great unique tasting. Enjoyed this video very much.
WH Mcbrayer runs about $100.
I agree with trenton i hate cracker barrel too
What is up with Trent’s hair??😂😂😂
I will have to look for that old man winter. Sound delicious 😋.
I too hate Cracker Barrel!
Too funny Trenton, I hate Cracker Barrel myself.
W. H. McBrayer = $100.00
Let's gooo TGIF
I'm with Trenton. Cracker Barrel is one of the most overrated restaurants in the world. It's basically a lesser version of my mom's kitchen growing up. They fix the same food, just not as good.
Cheers 🥃
if I had to wait for 2 hours to eat at a crappy restaurant like cracker barrel, I'd hate it too
I wish I could pick up smells on the nose. I just can't. They all basically nose the same. Quiet irritating when I hear you 2 describe smell.
😁
I’m with Trent-Cracker Barrel is super over-rated.
Totally agree with some of the comments here. Unlike some other channels I really like when you explore new and uncommon and maybe to some extent off the wall bottles or releases. put Elon on pause when this popped up................ never heard of any of these.... always afraid to try whiskeys that are an unknown..... have had some blunders.
If you can find either of the rye or wheat BiB Holladay bottles in your area, both are great for a 6yr BiB at around $50-60.
Is Trenton adopted or does he look exactly like his mom? Because y’all have ZERO resemblance
some of the aged stated old man winters (18yo rye for example ) is believed although not confirmed, that it is the same Bernheim rye used to make Black Maple Hill in that time era. Another unicorn of course 🥲
