    What you'll need:
    4 lbs of Pumpkin, sliced small and thinly.
    1 onion, sliced
    8-10 cloves of garlic, minced
    1 hot pepper, sliced
    4 pimento peppers, sliced
    Pinch of sugar (optional)
    Salt (your preference)
    1 tablespoon oil
    Roasted gound geera (cumin) - Optional

      I prefer geera in mine. I'm Guyanese. But ur mom's pumpkin looks nice.

    When u said u like jeers in urs and mom said "then I'll add it" was a very humbling moment for me. Lost my mom when I was 12yo. Great vdo. I'm definately going to try it.

    One of my favorite childhood dish Grandma used to make along with pot roasted bake and Creole hot chocolate. Those were the days. Thanks.

    Good quality pumpkin : nice curry .
    We cook more or less the same way here in Mauritius . We add a little sugar .
    However , pumpkin with saltfish is amazing...sincerely never heard of it before .Will try it someday . Look so delicious !

    Very delicious dish! I love it with sada roti, bara, or dalpuri. Tamarind chutney and mango kuchela goes really nice with this dish.

    Now that is a real mother, she child like it with geera and she doesn't, but one time she was willing to toss that geera in for her child... so sweet.

    If you think your tear ducts are not working see if you can find the movie Dosti from 1964. Never knew what it meant until I read it in the comments. My Vedic school in Chaguanas took us to see it way back then. Not a dry eye in the theatre! I also tried to find out what was the leaf your mom added to the dish. The CC said one thing but it does not seem to be valid. I looked up Shariker which was in the close caption.

      Its karipuley leaves or curry leaves. Pretty sure I didn't spell that correct but I spelt how I pronounce it lol

    I can see why you call it Dosti... in Urdu Do is two and Dosti means friendship. Since you join two rotis together in friendship hence the name Dosti. We make pumpkin curry pretty much the same in Pakistan.

    Freezing any fruit or vegetable will soften it up because the frozen water crystals puncture the cell walls.
