Omg you’re almost at 100,000 followers!!! I’m so excited for you and so happy that so many people have seen what I saw from the beginning. Your genuine love for cooking and your kind and loving spirit shines through and makes you an absolute joy to watch. ❤️
It really nice that even though your away from home you still continue with your home food and not tend to only eat fast food everyday.
Thanks hun! We both love our home-cooked Trinbagonian food. Since we moved we rarely eat fast food.
@@TasteofTrini you moved? Do you like Texas better?
Awesome recipes. I totally loved this video. Thank god for you and your generosity in sharing your family's recipes. Have a fantastic week.💖💖
Thanks for the green seasoning video and other demonstrations. You are doing a good job and you helping thousands in the kitchen. Although I have taken many courses in International cuisines, I am still learning a lot from you. from you. Maybe you could ask the grocer to cut the pumpkin for you.
I love saltfish, it's like piscine bacon to me, so so tasty 😋 I also like it a little chunky to give the dish some texture. I think you could possibly grow your own pimento peppers if you can't buy them. Very well explained and demonstrated. Great skills. Your passion for your art is evident in every frame! You are so close to a well-deserved 100K subs now, it'll soon be time for limin' 🍾🍻🎉
Thanks uncle! Yes, but it's not sold here. I'm getting a few plants from someone. Will let you know how it goes!
Thanks uncle! It's cool that this lil hobby has been helpful to so many people🙂
Love that pumpkin so yummy. My husbands mom has tried to teach me her Roti preparing techniques and my wrist hurts to. I understand how you feel. H if you use a lemon during cooking she said use left over lemon and rub fingers hand md under nails with it under water. It took hot pepper residue off your hands. Yummy!!
Hi loved your video..I've never made dosti roti would lov to try i saw u only put 1tsp baking powder to 3cups of flour wheni make sada i do 1tsp of bp to 1 cup of ...so for dosti roti its less baking powder?
Hi Marrissa! Thanks for watching! I used 1 tablespoon of baking powder to 3 cups of flour. 1 tbsp= 3tsps.
Reshmi nice video like how you keep it simple and not forgetting who you are God bless you.
Just happen to come across your video and really enjoy watching i, thanks for showing how to keep cilantro, scallion from spoiling.
I was looking for measurements 😢 for your recipe
Thanks for the tips to preserve herbs. One issue with salt fish it sometimes mashed up in pumpkin. I prefer to add shrimps.
This video was soooo enjoyable to watch , first time seeing dosti roti being made , very informative , great job Resh thanks for sharing.
Loved the convo with me lol. How does your roti hold up the next day? Does it get hard? Also, what u think about using the butter flavour crisco?
Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed it. Same time you mentioned your countertops, I was thinking to myself “ that’s a nice countertop for rolling out roti” 😆. I haven’t had pumpkin is a little while and this looks absolutely delicious! Thanks again! Oh! Loved the little bit at the end with your Mom!
Hi. At what point would you have added sugar if the pumpkin wasn't already naturally sweet?
Hello. I am an Englishman married to a Trinny. I love TT food and try my best to follow your or any WI recipes. Just a thought - would it not be better to cook the pumpkin separately and then add it to the salt fish - just saying?? Love your videos and your Trinny accent.
I also have pain in my wrist, so my broiler is my best friend. Rub some oil on the outside of any hardy vegetables and put it on a foil covered baking sheet in your oven, I use my broiler on High and in about a half hour it becomes soft and easy to cut and it will be almost cooked so less cooking time on stove.
These are the kinds of video that kitchen newbies can learn from; very detailed and instructive.
That's why I like doing more detailed videos. I hope that it helps out at least one person 🙏🏽
It's noob obligation not noobies Kay say it properly
she repeats her life stories everytime and talks too much, videos are slow n long
Don't watchbthem. U have plenty other videos available
Love the method for freezing the green seasoning. Pumpkin and roti yes.
Thanks for watching! I think most foreign Trinbagonians utilize this method. It's effective 🙂
Hey hun, do you know where you can buy those bags of saltfish you have in Queens? Do you think they are at farm boy?
You are an excellent cook/chef. I love your Channel Taste of Trini. You are so fluent how you explain your technique and why you do certain steps. I would love to be invited to your home for a fabulous and delicious Trini feast. I am grateful to you sharing your gift with us. I am not s bad Trini cook but you are Numero Uno. Blessings! 🙏🙏🙏🌸🌺
Hi, what was the name of the peppers? I am looking for alternatives for pimentos as can’t find in London England
which things are you made ice cube ..plz givev full information .
Well thanks for kneading the dough and cutting up that pumpkin even though you have that wrist pain. I might try that dosti roti recipe.
Nice video. Maybe try using a vegetable for the back of the pumpkin. I use it for all my vegetables and its a game changer. You can get one for US$ 5-10.
I found you tonight...living in Orlando away from our culture and having you cook tonight felt like I was cooking with a girl friend. Loved this video. I also always wanted to know how to make roti skins. I always buy them but now I know. Thanks girl. I also lived in NY before moving here so I know how hard it is to find our foods.
Hello,i like all your recipes, many thanks for sharing, all your recipes are tasty and delicious, bye
Great video..What store can I get the butter ?
I came across the freezing the green seasoning tip in another video, but didn't do it because I could already see the hassle of taking them out of the trays! 😅
So I've been shying away from it for a while now, but since I have the silicone bottom trays now - I'll follow your example.
Fortunately too, I prefer mine blended fine - so it'll be easier to get in.
The best way that works for me to peel those pumpkins, is to microwave them to soften the skin & then use a vegetable peeler to get most of the skin off. Then finish up with a paring knife.
Gotta fine ways to save work on the wrist, since I cook for a living too!
I definitely want to try curry pumpkin, it looks delicious!
Wow! So yummyyyyy and delishious! I am dribbling here. I love pumpkin and roti. We make the 4 in one roti because it is easier to finish making the roti fast. It inside layers are really soft. You outdid yourself again! I do the same thing to preserve the herbs. I cannot eat to much pepper because of stomach issues but still love a little piece of it sometimes. I think that type of pumpkin is called a squash, because of the tough texture and skin, that is hard to cut through. But that is the only kind we use , it comes out dry like prasad sometimes.Yeah the marble counter top looks awesome. Girl you are almost at 100k subs can't wait to see you get that silver play button. First comment here.
Thanks for watching! My grandmother likes to make 4 in 1 also. Yes it's called a kobacha squash. I prefer it on the wet side so I added some more water to thin it out a bit. Thanks for the kind words!
critanand from mauritius island we also eat lots of pumpkin but never with saltfish very nice i learn something from you so thank you very very much and we indian origin where ever we are with our roti thank you for sharing
I am Indian origin living in in Dublin,Ireland happy to see u using Kerry butter.Where did u buy u r Tava I got one

Hi! Thanks for watching! I actually bought the tawa in Queens, NY. The brand is Victoria. You might be able to get it on Amazon. Thank you 🙏🏽
This reminds me of what i used to eat as a child. My grand aunts used to make it and this dish was one of my very favourite
Hello Reshmi , everything you cook , the pumpkin with salt fish , the dosti roti and the fry plantain looks wonderful .
Thank you so much! It tasted delicious!
Hello, would bell peppers taste good in the pumpkin?
I use this squash sometimes, but I put it in the oven and bake a little to soften the skin.
Blend your seasoning with oil instead of water and put them in bottles in the fridge it can last for a month or more
Okay I'll try it one of these days. Thank you 🙏🏽
Oil and fresh garlic has the potential for botulism ..
@@hedykarim3570 hi any special oil
Great tips👍
Foods looks very delicious, will definitely try it out, ty for sharing. God's blessings to u
Very nice looks delicious 😋 just a quick question u said when u go to Trinidad 🇹🇹 ,I thought u were in Trinidad 🇹🇹 so where do you live ? 👍besides great job keep it up❤️
I am definitely going to make this pumpkin recipe. You are amazing to watch, keep up the good work
Hi, where in Trinidad did you grow up? The area you're filming seems familiar.
I don't remove the pumpkin skin - I scrub the outside really well and use it skin and all. Same for butternut and acorn squash. has a lot of nutrients. the only gourd skin I don't eat is sphagetti squash.
hi it's Rose from 🇹🇹 🇨🇦 it's the first time I've seen this video. it look amazing i admire your cooking i am sure it tastes delicious. 👍
Please tell me more about the counter tops from Walmart!! Thanks food looks delicious

Hi Reshy..I am jealous of the Dosti roti an saltfish...yes u always have to fry the saltfish first then add ur onion and hot pepper
Ur dinner came out so sticky...enjoy my girl....an yes that name of the store it a very very long time store....it's D.P Maharaj on high street just before the entrance before JTA....They u would get enamel plate cup an all the Puja items for Hindu material.. ..nice.friendly ppl check them when next u are in Trinidad and an I ❤❤🙏🙏 May

Thank you for watching! I usually fry it on the side and then add it on top.
Thanks for letting me know! Will check them out 😉
Natasha this was a really nice video. I usually watch your videos but never leave a comment. I watch this to the end . The roti and curry squash with the saltfish look sooo delicious. Much try. 👍🙂
Reshmi, just wanted to let you know that pimento peppers grow fantastic in Texas. When I lived there I planted a few plants in ground and in pots and they grew like nobody's business. I had so many pimentos that I had to freeze them and sadly a lot went bad because I couldn't use them fast enough. Plant just 2 in pots and you would have more than enough.
Hey, yes I am starting a little patio garden for the summer. I'm getting a few plants from someone. Will let you know how it goes 😁🤞🏼
Ok cool. You won't be disappointed. I had dozens and dozens of large ziploc bags of pimentos that I gave away. A friend of mine had a Caribbean restaurant in Katy called "Spicy Isle" and I gave her most of what I had. And another thing...expect those peppers to be huge! You know what they say "everything is bigger in Texas"!
Excellent. Perfection. Keep up the Great work 👍
You could use a chopper to cut this pumpkin, where in Texas are you, ?
I add a butternut squash with the kobacha squash, it makes it moist .😋
For easier clean up once you cut the squash in half use a ice cream scoop to go ahead and get rid of all
The seeds and gunk out of it .. I used to work on salad bar on my ship and it saves me so much time when cutting honey die melons
Thanks for this🙏🏽 I don't own an ice cream scoop or cook pumpkin often, but it's a great tip for others in the comments!
Goodmorning sweetie my wrist hurt as well but I use a lower counter to cut and kneed my flour.. it easier on my wrist
Wow girl when you cut the pumpkin it look so yellow whit the other look good
.
Girl you have some strength there. That food looks delicious. Well done.kevin is very lucky. ..🙏🙏🙏
I try ah ting lol
Thank you, it was delicious! Kevin thoroughly enjoyed 🙂
Your cooking is amazing, great job. Love it
Thank you 🙏🏽
Lovin these 'Cook With Me' videos! I would love to make the Curry Saltfish Pumpkin, but because my husband and son are a picky eater I will just cook it for me.
Actually I cooked pumpkin, fry cabbage, fry plantian and whole wheat sada roti today as we are fasting. Keep posting more videos like these 😀
So happy you're enjoying these videps, Nicole!
My suggestion is to make a small amount and just freeze the rest of pumpkin to use another time.
That sounds amazing! Love that meal 🙂🔥
Will work on more like these! Thanks for the support ❤
Hey Resh! I can't find the dosti roti recipe. This is the best I have ever seen....honestly!!! It is silky and thin like how my Nanny makes it😻
Thanks Nicole! I don't have a dosti roti recipe up yet actually. Since there's interest for one, I'll work on it. Yeah, I love thin roti 🙂
Reshmi, can you please include the ingredients for each meal. Thanks love your vids including Batman 😉
You had so much trouble cutting up that pumpkin/squash. I use it a lot in Boston and I found that if I baked it for about 11/2 hours with temperature 300 or 325 or prior to using; it's so much better. The pumpkin has a beautiful nutty flavor and cutting it is very easy. No hurting of your wrists. Just try it and you'll experience the difference.
Put a link to where yuh get de marble design set from nah, it look real good
You can put your seasonings in a bottle too
The food looks good. I always sprinkle cinnamon on my fried plantains to give them that extra kick and they taste delicious. The Roti and the Saltfish looks mouth watering good.
My mom always make me buys a squash, when she buys roti, its so hard to cut it because their always hard as a rock, and take about 30 mins to completely cut.
Oh okay cool. Yeah it's hard to cut, I had a hard time with this one.
Thanks for watching!
Trini living in Jamaica. I miss my trini food sooo much. Great video as usual
Those squash can be a real workout to cut up, so when I feeling lazy and just need a small piece I will buy a some already cut up, HEB and Fiesta has it have it sometimes.
Texas? I'm in Houston. Where you getting the shadow Beni?
Thank you for staying true to your roots☺
Love it God bless you.
Once again amazing video learning so much from you thanks 😉😉😉
Wonderful video. Very helpful
Great job, yummy 😋
It's a headache cutting the pumpkin and yet so worth it 😊
Love this the food is looking good
How much water and oil you put in the dough ?
1 tablespoon of oil and 1 1/4 cup of water.
AMAZON HAS THE ENAMEL PLATES ,BOWLS EVERYTHING. THANK YOU.👍
Hi Natasha Yolanda from Boston where did you buy that bowl ?I love ,it looks perfect for kneading flour .
Uh?? It's Reshmi
Love me a pumpkin.. Girl u need to start send the food u cook in the mail for ppl if u got to post videos to make my belly start cussing me
Lol @ belly cussing. Wish I could send you some 😉
How thick does the loya have to be rolled out?
For dosti roti, it's usually rolled out thin but the choice is yours 🙂
Looks amazing
Nice video can you send a link for just dosti roti
I actually don't have a recipe video just yet. Since you're interested, I'll work on one 🙏🏽
@@TasteofTrini ok no problem ☺
That pumpkin is a piece of work...butter nut squash easier to clean and also better tasting...but it really looks good..hard working girl ..i would love to eat that-never had salted fish in squash...the roti also takes so much time....
Is it roti ? I never seen that before 2 and 3 together...is it called....? ..doubles and tripples... btw only asking
Did walmart install the countertop for you?
Lol no, it's a shelf liner. It comes in a roll
@@TasteofTrini is it actual marble?
Keep the pumpkin seeds for salads topping, you can pan fry dem a little
Greetings from Trinidad! Congratulations on your UA-cam cooking videos! Everything looks delicious! But that was certainly a "fight" with that pumpkin! Hope your wrist was ok after that fight! Keep up the good work!
CONGRATULATIONS ON 100K subscribers.
Hey love😍 ur cooking...and the name of the store is Bobbys in high street u can get all ur old school stuff there really nice ...
When making seasoning l feel for chow l think is just smell or pepper.
Nice tip on the Colantro😊
Looks yummy !!!!❤️❤️. Peal the pumpkin with a potato peeler that’s what i do and it’s so much easier.
Thank you! Will do! The last time I did that, the peeler slip and cut me 😂🤕
Taste of Trini Ha i know it’s happened to me also. The pumpkin is too hard. !!
Always enjoy your videos ❤
That a real curry pumpkin to cook soup love curry pumpkin and roti
Have you ever make curry pumpkin with chicken it delicious with rice or curry Irish potato I make pumpkin drinks
You are an excellent cook👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯♥️
Awesome video
Thanks be.blessed for you good job
Wow
What type of butter u use?
I use Kerrygold salted Irish butter.
Girl, all you have to do is put the pumpkin in the oven uncovered for just a few minutes and the it will quickly soften! Just put the entire pumpkin on a pan without oil or anything, you have to watch it! because it will quickly soften in a few minutes!
Try putting the pumpkin in the microwave for couple minutes it softens the skin
