Fer.al had so much potential, the music, ambience, npcs, quests, stories and world building was so good. It was magical. Whenever i hear any of the ost i get a hit of nostalgia from 2020-2021. I have some amazing memories from that game. So sad that wildworks had to ruin everything with their greed and laziness.
The first time I heard about Fer.al was in some random advertisment and it hit me with decade-old free MMO nostalgia and I was like "what the hell why not" I logged in, did my best to make a character that looked like it was covered in chicken pox, proceded to do everything i could to farm those heart things for a few hours, covered the ceiling and walls of my personal house with furnature, then forgot the game existed until Izzzyzzz's video
I played feral so much, and then it got brutally killed by the CEO. It was such a disappointment, i know there's a private server but although i tried i couldnt get it working, i dont even know if its still up lol. I remember customizing my little creature and playing with a friend... Aaaahhhh
This is a really great video! Feral literally changed my life in a way as well, it was straight up my dream game. Ever since i was little i've always daydreamed about a game similar to feral, mythical creatures, great customization, intriguing lore, etc (basically just my dream furry game lol). I don't think I'll ever be able to move on from this game, i still play the Emuferal Emulator occasionaly to make new avatars and OCs, and just run around the maps. This could've been such a great game if the circumstances were different, i find myself still thinking about the what ifs and stuff. You were one of my favorite Feral UA-camrs, it's great to see you back with another video on it after all this time! :D
This video was randomly recommended to me. As someone who has played Fer.al, I loved the game, the customization was insane and I loved the art style. I grew up playing Animal Jam and even made cringy youtube videos about the game over a decade ago now. I was really sad to see it shut down, and knowing it shut down 3 years ago hurts, it feels like yesterday. I remember grinding harvesting to unlock all rewards in the season pass as a f2p during online school XD I wasn’t good at customization in feral, but I loved the feel of the animations, the house decorating, the maps, music and overall vibe of the game. It felt so calming to just collect materials in it and my fav game was the hexagon one, I forgot the name XD I also joined a feral discord roleplay server that got deleted due to conflict with the owner. And I remember being so happy when I saved enough to get a kirin since I love unicorns. I really wish I could play feral again just once. Idk why I’m rambling XD but thank u for making this vid, I didn’t know exactly what happened to cinder after feral shut down until watching this vid

Man i loved fer.al so much. I was out of AJ's age demographic by the time I got on the internet, but I was with fer.al from the very start, and loved it the whole time. It got me through some rocky times when my physical health was rough. It felt like a home, a place I could express myself and escape from my situation IRL. And then it had to close down on March 26th. My literal, actual birthday. What the hell! Sometimes I jump on the emulator, emuferal, and run around nostalgically. But man, having one of my favorite games shut down was the worst birthday present ever.
It still feels like it was just yesterday that Feral was up and running. 😿 I myself have fond memories to reminisce about. Memories about the world, lore and all the creatures and characters. Especially all the things made from them. But even though it's long gone now, it shall never be forgotten. 😸
Weird to think such a lovely-looking set of games and their communities I was never aware of imploded so long ago from such horrific decisions that to some they remember it like it was yesterday before the shutdown happened, I simply stumble upon the ruins of wondering how I'd missed it when it used to be alive. Kudos to bringing something like this to my attention. Hope Tower Unite and VR Chat don't go the same way.

I remember staying the whole three hours before the shutdown and for some reason I was even able to stay on the game for several minutes after the shutdown was supposed to occur. Eventually I just logged out and forgot about the game. This video gave me very bittersweet memories.
see, i dont see anyone mentioning the fact that this game basically launched right when covid happened, which, if anyone knows how that shut down many other companies EASILY, even if every one of ferals players were to continue to give money to feral, it still wouldnt be enough. because of major events happening, several partnership deals fell through. the community manager freaking DIED. Clark and everyone else who knew her were likely devistated. and then pair that with death threats and an angry community (not all of them obviously) that will throw every word you say back at you, i cant blame em for going silent ya know? from what i know this was the biggest backlash they've likely received by a long shot.
very true. while obvi clark and wildworks are still problematic and ended up handling this very unprofessionally, the way a lot of the community reacted was horrible too. i've read so many messages i cant even remember that were so inconsiderate and deranged and i wish more people addressed the community's side in this. the discord chat was a literal warzone on the days cinder and then the shutdown were announced. i don't blame the fer.al community at the time for giving them backlash but all empathy went out the window

The last part about making an active effort to avoid AJ/Feral is so real 😭😭 I’ve been avoiding AJ for years because of how betrayed I felt over this incident despite wanting to indulge in that nostalgia so bad. As much as I wanna pick AJ up again to relive childhood memories, I can’t ever forget how wrong it was for WildWorks to just abandon a dedicated fanbase like that. I still can’t believe that the money I spent on Feral and the time I spent as a closed beta tester likely all went towards developing a freaking NFT game.
Even after all the years everything still feels so fresh in my mind. The first day i started the game, all the updates and excitement aaaand the eventual ungraceful shut down... Having been there since the beginning till the end... Feels somber. Like loosing a good friend, its something i never experienced with a game and i hope not to ever again. Though i did enjoy my time with the game and the comunity immensely. I do wish that i had the one official merch there is to remember it by, but they refused to send my cup over to europe. (NO im still not butthurt over it SHUT UP) But i think the game in the end achieved more than most do, and that is bringing together a really strong comunity that still exists to this day. The game was only like 2 years old and the comunity is still here 3 years later after its shut down. So its admirable in a way, wildworks really didnt know what they created and it shows.
I remember joining Feral as soon as I got access to it, which was pretty early I think. (I wasn't invited i just saw it on the appstore) I was there when character decals were put behind a paywall... But the ones on my avatar still stuck on. I felt special lol The game's art direction really attracted me; it felt cool and mystical and mysterious... I wish it was in better hands.

I joined Feral with one of my friends I met during the Pandemic getting into Ben 10! We played it on and off until I kinda gotten bored of it and my laptop's hinge needed to be replaced lol. I did like a lot of the world but the grinding aspect really threw me off and it didn't really feel that fun playing alone instead of with friends. I designed my character after a main side character from Ben 10 and honestly it was prolly the best design work Ive done for a 3D model lol.
When Feral was announced, I was SO excited to play it because I loved the concept a lot...until it was revealed that it was 13+. When I was a kid, if there was anything saying 13+, I would NOT interact with it, because as a 10 year old, I wasn't allowed to. What really saddens me is that I was waiting until I was 13 to play Feral, but then it shut down like a month before my birthday. Honestly, I'm still a little sad about it now, although I guess I can just play the version fans made. Really well video, btw.
good on you for actually following the age rules though, most kids under 13 did not :') kids missing out on og feral was better than them getting harassed off of the game and/or getting into conversations they shouldn't (i have unfortunately witnessed that in centuria a lot.) im glad you get to experience the emulator though !
i played it like a lil bit in 2021 for a good couple days, i remember having so much fun with the customization options and running around all the areas with my friends!! the blood water in the snowy place and the atmosphere of the different maps was so cool to me, good video ;_;
By the time I started playing Feral (on mobile) updates were non-existent, I loved making characters on it though I never even noticed there was a chat feature to begin with (it was likely broken every time I played) my favorite characters would almost always be kitsunes. At the time I started playing Feral I was still mourning the loss of Aj classic since I had fond memory’s of begging my mom for a membership (or code toys whenever we passed them in the store), trying to get a headdress or black spike and eventually settling on a Cami frog which I loved to the ends of the earth, freaking the heck out when the worn collars were released because “HEY AT LEAST I CAN LOOK LIKE A MEMBER NOW!” (I usually paired it with the rare fairy wings, the corresponding wristband, pirate swords, or anything that would make me look rich), and (while I did cut the habit and only did it occasionally if I knew for a fact consequences wouldn’t occur) Scamming since others scammed me and being a dumb 10 year old I thought it would be fine. The biggest thing though came when Aj FOR A VERY BREIF PERIOD OF TIME actually released a REAL free membership code, this was around the time Flash player was removed, and while I still had membership activated and I was no longer able to play (I’d long since switched from my school chromebook to my home computer since some kid in my class ratted me out for playing in class), I played Feral for a short period of time. Eventually I installed Aj Playwild to discover that (since I was using the same account) the membership from the code transferred over but because of the method in which it was percured it was permanent meaning I now had infinite membership. Because of that little glitch I heavily leaned into to Playwild and genuinely forgot about Feral uninstalling it to get more space for other games. I was sad to hear it was gone but never got emotionally attached mostly due to my absolute hate of the fetch quests and lack of instructions for getting certain materials (idk if there where but I never found any) I especially despised materials that needed to be gotten through fishing and I remember spending a lot of time in the swamp area. I’m sad that wild works has fallen so far and that they are essentially threatening to tear down Classic in the same fashion since that game was literally my childhood! Heck I forced my brother to make a Classic account so he could play with me (he never did which is fair lol). I really hope what happened with Feral never happens to any other game because it had a lot of potential and NFTs shouldn’t have taken priority over that! ALSO JUST A FAIR WARNING ITS LIKELY THAT NOT ONE HAD THE SAME CODE SITUATION HAPPEN BUT IF YOU DID DO NOT USE STEAM TO GO BACK TO CLASSIC I tried because I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to check it out one last time and I was immediately hit with the “your membership has expired” message which just like the code also transferred over.
Omg dude I remember those toys!!! I even had the whole club geos toy set and the codes that gave me the cool non-member music and stuff!!! I used that thing so much when I was a kid, I miss those toys.

PERIOD. and it's so sad to see wildworks stuck to their guns with no improvements for so long just to see them wipe it under the rug. bad company. bad game design. animal jam classic is being held together by sticks and glues and we all know it. guess what? that standard was fine for a kid's game made in 2010 running on flash, but this company doesn't know a single thing about what players actually want and what it takes to run a large mmo. they thought they could get away with a grinding simulator and a basic customization feature :/ they really made it sound like "animal jam but for teens", except it wasn't. it was worse. anyway I hope all of the talented people working on feral got better jobs at a company that doesn't suck lol. sincerely an ex fan of wildworks' games.

I never really got to play feral. I just got the emulator version though. It makes me sad that the updates never came out but, knowing WW, those good updates would probably come with a bunch of paywalls blocking them. Maybe the emulator people will try to finish them? I know WW has taken a very very tall tumble off a cliff, and while i still play the games because theyre my childhood, i am no longer going to be paying them any money... its sad to see my childhood crumbling before my eyes, WildWorks. I once wished to work for you. To be one of you. But i dont think youll even be there when i grow up and frankly, if you are, i wouldnt side with you anyway.
I hope that we get a game like AJ classic x play wild x Feral. I've really missed the community and the creativity. There really is no game like it at the moment. I loved making den maps, making my +400 animals and such. I didn't play much of feral cuz it barely run on my old PC but had fun with friends on it for the little it was stable. I really hope that one day the AJ and Feral communities find a new game to play together that will be even better than those and go beyond to make the right choices for the game and it's future
loved this video!! I was a HUGE feral player and was so upset when it shut down... however i moved to creatures of sonaria on roblox!! it has a wonderful community and large playerbase!! it's more survival based but if you're looking for a good creature game to play I would so recommend it!

I played feral a lot during 2020-2021 on my 7 year old computer. I was always an animal jam kid and was excited to get something more targeted towards teens. I sort of grew out of it the year it shut down, but i'm sad I won't be able to take a look at the skins I made and wander around the map again.
It's always sad to see a company so thoroughly disrespect its community. I don't think Wildworks is realizing just how much they're hurting themselves in the long run. Do they really think people are going to invest time and money into any future projects they announce when they showed with both Feral and Cinder that they'll just shut it all down in a heartbeat, ignore their community, refuse to communicate, and pretend it never happened? There's going to be an air of uncertainty to anything they make from here on out. Reputation takes years to build and a moment to destroy.

It's weird how they're asking for you to support their games to improve their other games. This is not behavior ive witnessed with normal successful games, The fan base is mostly Children so I think that is very manipulative. I loved feral😭 animal jam itself has gotten so bad, no matter how many times I reset my password my acc gets hacked and it’s just annoying. The trade system is also horrible. Feral was at least fun and I got more interaction with other players, like actual conversations which made it even more enjoyable.
What if a group of actual ethical developers came together and opened the game up but this time made it better and without an actual turd running the whole thing?

Though i did enjoy my time with the game and the comunity immensely. I do wish that i had the one official merch there is to remember it by, but they refused to send my cup over to europe. (NO im still not butthurt over it SHUT UP) But i think the game in the end achieved more than most do, and that is bringing together a really strong comunity that still exists to this day. The game was only like 2 years old and the comunity is still here 3 years later after its shut down. So its admirable in a way, wildworks really didnt know what they created and it shows.

I joined Feral with one of my friends I met during the Pandemic getting into Ben 10! We played it on and off until I kinda gotten bored of it and my laptop's hinge needed to be replaced lol. I did like a lot of the world but the grinding aspect really threw me off and it didn't really feel that fun playing alone instead of with friends. I designed my character after a main side character from Ben 10 and honestly it was prolly the best design work Ive done for a 3D model lol.
When Feral was announced, I was SO excited to play it because I loved the concept a lot...until it was revealed that it was 13+. When I was a kid, if there was anything saying 13+, I would NOT interact with it, because as a 10 year old, I wasn't allowed to. What really saddens me is that I was waiting until I was 13 to play Feral, but then it shut down like a month before my birthday. Honestly, I'm still a little sad about it now, although I guess I can just play the version fans made. Really well video, btw.
good on you for actually following the age rules though, most kids under 13 did not :') kids missing out on og feral was better than them getting harassed off of the game and/or getting into conversations they shouldn't (i have unfortunately witnessed that in centuria a lot.) im glad you get to experience the emulator though !

By the time I started playing Feral (on mobile) updates were non-existent, I loved making characters on it though I never even noticed there was a chat feature to begin with (it was likely broken every time I played) my favorite characters would almost always be kitsunes. At the time I started playing Feral I was still mourning the loss of Aj classic since I had fond memory’s of begging my mom for a membership (or code toys whenever we passed them in the store), trying to get a headdress or black spike and eventually settling on a Cami frog which I loved to the ends of the earth, freaking the heck out when the worn collars were released because “HEY AT LEAST I CAN LOOK LIKE A MEMBER NOW!” (I usually paired it with the rare fairy wings, the corresponding wristband, pirate swords, or anything that would make me look rich), and (while I did cut the habit and only did it occasionally if I knew for a fact consequences wouldn’t occur) Scamming since others scammed me and being a dumb 10 year old I thought it would be fine. The biggest thing though came when Aj FOR A VERY BREIF PERIOD OF TIME actually released a REAL free membership code, this was around the time Flash player was removed, and while I still had membership activated and I was no longer able to play (I’d long since switched from my school chromebook to my home computer since some kid in my class ratted me out for playing in class), I played Feral for a short period of time. Eventually I installed Aj Playwild to discover that (since I was using the same account) the membership from the code transferred over but because of the method in which it was percured it was permanent meaning I now had infinite membership. Because of that little glitch I heavily leaned into to Playwild and genuinely forgot about Feral uninstalling it to get more space for other games. I was sad to hear it was gone but never got emotionally attached mostly due to my absolute hate of the fetch quests and lack of instructions for getting certain materials (idk if there where but I never found any) I especially despised materials that needed to be gotten through fishing and I remember spending a lot of time in the swamp area. I’m sad that wild works has fallen so far and that they are essentially threatening to tear down Classic in the same fashion since that game was literally my childhood! Heck I forced my brother to make a Classic account so he could play with me (he never did which is fair lol). I really hope what happened with Feral never happens to any other game because it had a lot of potential and NFTs shouldn’t have taken priority over that!
ALSO JUST A FAIR WARNING ITS LIKELY THAT NOT ONE HAD THE SAME CODE SITUATION HAPPEN BUT IF YOU DID DO NOT USE STEAM TO GO BACK TO CLASSIC I tried because I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to check it out one last time and I was immediately hit with the “your membership has expired” message which just like the code also transferred over.

thank you for your harshly worded criticism of wildworks, genuinely. it drives me crazy to see people defend this company tooth and nail after everything they did to the feral community. you have no idea how much hope I had for feral, but after playing the closed beta, that hope quickly dropped. I actually commend you for sticking with the game for so long, I just couldn't. the game was just NOT GOOD. PERIOD. and it's so sad to see wildworks stuck to their guns with no improvements for so long just to see them wipe it under the rug. bad company. bad game design. animal jam classic is being held together by sticks and glues and we all know it. guess what? that standard was fine for a kid's game made in 2010 running on flash, but this company doesn't know a single thing about what players actually want and what it takes to run a large mmo. they thought they could get away with a grinding simulator and a basic customization feature :/ they really made it sound like "animal jam but for teens", except it wasn't. it was worse. anyway I hope all of the talented people working on feral got better jobs at a company that doesn't suck lol. sincerely an ex fan of wildworks' games.

I did hear about the fact you still play feral today but idk if it’s still alive or if it’s safe for your pc but i think the community or some of it decided to have put it back up, i miss feral and want to even play now but i know it probably won’t happen but i would have loved to see the game grow and improve over time and as for animal jam i haven’t played it since i was younger and i don’t think it could ever replace what feral did for me but I’m hoping one day we can see feral again in a better light maybe.

It makes me sad that the updates never came out but, knowing WW, those good updates would probably come with a bunch of paywalls blocking them. Maybe the emulator people will try to finish them? I know WW has taken a very very tall tumble off a cliff, and while i still play the games because theyre my childhood, i am no longer going to be paying them any money... its sad to see my childhood crumbling before my eyes, WildWorks. I once wished to work for you. To be one of you. But i dont think youll even be there when i grow up and frankly, if you are, i wouldnt side with you anyway.

I hope that we get a game like AJ classic x play wild x Feral. I've really missed the community and the creativity. There really is no game like it at the moment. I loved making den maps, making my +400 animals and such. I didn't play much of feral cuz it barely run on my old PC but had fun with friends on it for the little it was stable. I really hope that one day the AJ and Feral communities find a new game to play together that will be even better than those and go beyond to make the right choices for the game and it's future
loved this video!! I was a HUGE feral player and was so upset when it shut down... however i moved to creatures of sonaria on roblox!! it has a wonderful community and large playerbase!! it's more survival based but if you're looking for a good creature game to play I would so recommend it!

I played feral a lot during 2020-2021 on my 7 year old computer. I was always an animal jam kid and was excited to get something more targeted towards teens. I sort of grew out of it the year it shut down, but i'm sad I won't be able to take a look at the skins I made and wander around the map again.

It's always sad to see a company so thoroughly disrespect its community. I don't think Wildworks is realizing just how much they're hurting themselves in the long run. Do they really think people are going to invest time and money into any future projects they announce when they showed with both Feral and Cinder that they'll just shut it all down in a heartbeat, ignore their community, refuse to communicate, and pretend it never happened? There's going to be an air of uncertainty to anything they make from here on out. Reputation takes years to build and a moment to destroy.

that's not to say you shouldn't be supportive either, just that a new non shifty CEO needs elected. I loved feral😭 animal jam itself has gotten so bad, no matter how many times I reset my password my acc gets hacked and it’s just annoying. The trade system is also horrible. Feral was at least fun and I got more interaction with other players, like actual conversations which made it even more enjoyable.
What if a group of actual ethical developers came together and opened the game up but this time made it better and without an actual turd running the whole thing?
